It was just what we were hoping for. This is not a luxury condo but it was nicely priced, clean and everything worked, with plenty of space indoors and outdoors to spend time together or get a little alone time.
We went to some events at big resorts and although they have in principle fancier grounds/pools I really appreciated the less ostentatious but still lovely private space on the patio of this unit. I'm not sure that even if I wanted to pay 2-10x as much I would actually choose the resort experience over this experience.
The grounds and landscaping in the complex were very nice and although there were lots of families around it was peaceful. They have property management who are clearly checking up on things and keeping them maintained.
This unit is steps from the pool with lots of lovely shade from palm trees. If you are looking for a gigantic over the top resort pool you may be disappointed (although I recently learned you can buy day passes to resort pools through a third party service if you book them in advance, so that's something to consider).
The bedroom and living room have thick carpet, which is not my personal preference because of allergies, but it ended up being okay for me. The kitchen was great, with nice appliances and countertops. Extremely clean and no evidence of pests at all.
I don't feel that anything burdensome was asked of me at checkout in terms of cleanup or checkout.
Highly recommend as a home base in Maui.

The condo is very spacious, beautiful, clean and has everything you need. 2 bathrooms were so convenient for 4 of us. Pool and jacuzzi at night was bonus! Walking distance to the beach yet little away from mail street so no tourist or traffic noise. The lanai has private space, loved morning coffee listening to beautiful birds. Definitely love to come back here!!

We had an awesome time in K109 such a nice garden and close to pool and BBQ. Everything we needed was in this clean spacious unit. Minor criticism was check in is rather late at 4pm after we had travelled over night from Australia.

The condo was even better than the pictures. This is our third condo at Maui Kamaole condos. This one was as the others quiet and comfortable with everything we needed. We love the location, the layout of the condos, and the check-in process has gotten easier than in years past. We have no complaints.

Once again, our family had a great stay. Once again, we really enjoyed our facilities at Maui Kamaole. Favorite activities included the Kaanapali zipline and ATV tour in Wailuku. The plane barely touched down...and we decided to start making plans for a return trip, hopefully soon!

This condo is in very good condition. It has everything you need for your stay, including beach chairs, coolers, and beach towels. The beach is just a short walk or drive. It's close to shopping in either Kihea or Wailea. We will definitely rent this condo again. We had great communication with the owner both before and during our stay: she wants to make sure everything is going well.

3 of us stayed in this lovely apartment for 9 days and it was fabulous. We especially loved walking out onto the ground floor lanai you eat our breakfast and drink our morning coffee. Lovely condo. Gorgeous pool although not perfect for kids... Ton of rules and security that wouldn't let them play with any water toys on the pool not even a soft water nerf ball in their own area of the pool. The sofa bed was in dire need of extra padding. Otherwise perfectly. The patio had the most welcoming peaceful energy. Drinking coffee with gorgeous trees and tropical sounding birds was amazing. Only 4 beach towels so laundry daily for 4 of us was absolutely needed. There is a washing machine and dryer and supplies for washing along with nice appliances especially in the kitchen including dishwasher. Board games and books and boogie boards. We bought an extra to contribute to the collection. :) I would be honored to stay there again. 🙏 God bless this home and all whole visit. It is a great place if you need quiet clean peaceful environment.

This is a really nice vacation property, it was very well stocked with all of the essentials and lots of kitchen supplies. The hide a bed in the living room is a typical hide a bed, we purchased a cot at Costco that worked great for us and was more comfortable. We loved the quiet setting of the lanai and enjoyed our meals outside almost every day. The pool area is very tropical and full of happy parents and kids. We spent most of our time at the local beaches and snorkelling down south. The local beaches are in great proximity and if you have people wanting to do different things every day it is a very easy walk to the beach and to amenities. We really enjoyed our stay, we did have one small problem while we were there and maintenance came right away and fixed it as well as the owners were great when we were booking the rental. Overall we had a great time in Kihei and the vacation rental was awesome!!

The condo was clean and well maintained. The grounds were immaculate. The kitchen was well equipped. It was very close to beaches and restaurants. and about 2.5 miles from a very large grocery store (Safeway). Nice open space in the yard and a small courtyard for morning coffee and afternoon wine. We would stay there again.

Great location with the property across the street from the beach, 10 min drive to Safeway, and 15 min walk from a strip of restaurants.
The condo was lovely. Essentials like beach gear are included and the owners bulk buys things like detergent, paper towels, etc that are a pain to buy for a short stay. Susan prepared us with inventory for what to expect when we arrived. Much more detailed than we are used to and made planning the trip easy (which is nice when you are flying so far).
We enjoyed the condo property and pool which were not crowded despite stories we’ve heard recently about resorts in Hawaii.
Would happily stay again next time we are in Maui.

The condo was in a great location, that allowed easy access to many beautiful beaches and shopping. We enjoyed being on the first floor, with no stairs to climb, very close to the parking lot, and having a nice back patio that expanded our living space. The pool, which we enjoyed every day, was beautiful and lush and only steps away from our front door. We had all the amenities we needed and the rental was well stocked with everything we needed, including beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, and coolers! The owners were very accessible by phone when we had questions during our stay.

This condo is very clean and furnished with everything we needed including beach mats, chairs and umbrella. access to the upper pool was very nice and the BBQ's are right their too so I could BBQ and keep an eye out for the child. BBQ's are propane, new and clean. I grilled salmon and Tri-tip steaks on separate nights. I liked the snorkeling at Black Rock all day long parking at the Sharaton was 20 dollars but worth the safe parking and beach access. The 3 Kamaole beaches are all within walking distance with places to eat near by too. The staff suggested trying the Monkey Pot happy hour and the 5 Palms both where great places. The Monkey Pot in Wailea had a great guitar player and discount drinks and pizza's. Great location and very relaxing. Sucurity are nice and helpful too. It was nice and safe.

We've stayed at half a dozen different 1 bedroom 2 bathroom units at Maui Kamaole over the years and Unit K109 is by far the most comfortably and tastefully furnished unit we've encountered. Owners Susan and Mark Simpson have really paid attention to detail and stocked the unit with every comfort you could possibly need, and are very quick to respond to any questions you send via e-mail. Highly recommended! We'll be back.

This was our 11 th time on maui, and our second time staying in mark and Susan's condos. Many VRBO listings are exaggerated but K103 and K109 are very accurate. They love their home away from home and it shows in every detail. The hawaiian cd's playing while having morning coffee on the lanai, with the birds singing, and the quails visiting, while the sun is shining and warm, and bananas growing right above. Perfect.

We were fortunate enough to have been able to return to our "favorite place on earth" the island of Maui again this year. We have stayed in Susan & Mark's other condo K103 as well but this year tried K109. Both of these condos locations are great and as always everything was exactly what we expected. Love all the extra items left in the condo for our use including beach chairs and our son left his sand toys for someone else to enjoy until we can come back!

This condo and the owners are fabulous! There was not one thing misrepresented! We did not come across one thing the whole 12 days that we wished we could put our hands in the "home away from home."
Mahalo to Susan for all the time and attention she puts into the decor, cleanliness and personal interaction she provides.
And, to think that I was nervous. hahaha
When we return to Maui, we know where we will be staying...this unit rocks!

We loved this condo. Great location near some nice beaches where our kids enjoyed playing in the waves and boogie boarding (the unit has two boogie boards, which was awesome). We liked the laid-back, family atmosphere of the condo complex. Nice pool. And, a convenient location to explore Maui!

We stayed in this condo for little over a week in November 2013. The owners are extremely friendly and provided us with all the useful information about the unit and answered our questions very quickly. The unit is relatively large for a 1 bedroom and very close to the pool. It has everything you could need from guidebooks and beach gear (towels, coolers, chairs, snorkels and fins, body boards) to a full kitchen and washer and dryer. The unit seemed very reasonably priced. The complex was great. It is at the end of S. Kihei Drive which was perfect as it was close enough to walk everywhere but not right in the midst of all the shops. Would definitely stay again.

I stayed in this condo for 9 nights. It was, as advertised, clean and well equipped with no surprises. It's a beautiful condo in a fabulous complex, the photos tell the story. There were beach toys, including boogie boards and cooler, in the closet. The wireless internet made keeping in touch with folks at home easy. I can't comment on the big screen TV with surround sound as I didn't turn it on, there were too many other fun things to do. The owners were helpful in making the arrangements and in responding to follow up questions.
The condo complex was quiet with a mature crowd, middle age mostly with a few seniors and families with young children. Security personnel were present. The grounds were kept clean and gardeners were busy. We barbecued a couple of nights on one of the many bbq's scattered around the property.
The location is perfect with several great beaches, restaurants, supermarkets and surfing close by.
I certainly recommend this condo. When I return it will be my first choice.

I titled this "outstanding" because "excellent" is not a good enough experience rating. This condo was excellent- very well decorated with every amenity you need to feel at home right away. The complex is wonderfully manicured, quiet and comfortable. The pool and jacuzzi is merely steps away. Kam III beach was close enough to walk to, but it was more convenient to drive and use the chairs, coolers, and beachgear from the condo. Kihei road is wonderfully convenient to shops and all types of restaurants. We can't wait to come back again. Mahalo Susan!

Susan and Mark show real pride in their condo and K109 reflects it. It is truly a great home base whether you prefer to stay close or come and go, it is lacking in nothing. Beautifully decorated in the island flavor, to the well equipped kitchen, to the beach accessories, to the private and quietness of the lanai. They really want you to have a relaxing vacation (in house safe and the washer and dryer are a bonus) This is our second visit back to Maui and K109. As soon as we turned the key in the door and entered we knew we were back at our "Maui Home" Susan has a Guest book and it provides tips, tours and restaurants that others guests have written about which is very helpful. A nice touch is Susan always follows up with a phone call to see if all is well.
The Beach is a short scenic walk and is good for snorkeling, swimming, boogie boarding and sunning. There is a playground for children located in the park. Bring your beach chair down or go for a walk in the evening and take in the spectacular Maui sunsets.
The well maintained grounds and pools of the Maui Kamaole condo complex, to the friendly and helpful staff at the office and your "Maui Home" K109 are a place where memories will surely be made and will beckon you back again. Paradise!

We just got back from staying one week in K109. The Maui Kamaole condo grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained. Susan and Mark have provided a wonderful condo with pretty much all the amenities that one could ask for. Just like K103 which we stayed in last year. K109 is clean, spacious, nicely decorated and quiet. We made regular use of the beach gear including boogie boards. And the coolers came in very handy as well. The air conditioning was very welcome but we turned it off when going to sleep as it was a little loud. But that was fine, as it was then cool enough and we know of the high cost of electricity on Maui. I also appreciated Susan calling us during our stay at K109 just to make sure everything was ok. I can highly recommend either of Susan & Mark's condos.

Susan & Mark ~Aloha!!! We are back in Virginia Beach and wanted to drop you a line regarding your beautiful home. Your condo of K109 exceeded our expectations! Your home is very spacious for a one bedroom unit and the gourmet kitchen was completed with plenty of tools for use! We enjoyed many mornings having coffee and fresh fruit on the lanai and many afternoons sipping wine listening to the tradewinds (Hawaiian AC) Your home is decorated lovely and we hope to replicate some of the design trends at our home here. Your condo is centrally located to many areas and away from the "timeshare row" of other parts of Maui. We loved the fact that we could walk to KAM III each evening to watch the sunset and feel like we were part of a huge family. The area of South Kihei is very convenient! Even for a quick snorkel off the beach at KAM III to be greeted by turtles :-D
We want potential customers to know that we did receive the best communication and advice from you through out our planning process and HIGHLY recommend your home. We not only planned our vacation, but with your input and suggestions allowed us to plan a wonderful wedding in Hawaii as well. Our only regret is that we were not able to rent K103 for our teenage boys (it was already rented) However, your complex was very accommodating in recommending other units close by for the boys to rent.
Your unit was large enough for us to host our reception dinner in with all 5 of us!
We sincerely appreciate you allowing us to stay in your home away from home, and we hope that we can stay again for an anniversary(after the 3 teenage boys graduate from college)

Susan, Mark & Steven, thanks so much for allowing us to spend time in your K-109 condo. The condo is in a wonderful location, and the condo itself was fantastic. The photos on your site represented it very well, and the condition of everything was excellent. We were also impressed with all the kitchen utensils and gadgets, which made it very easy to cook up whatever we wanted. We really loved all the grounds, especially the upper pool. The whole facility is very well cared for by the staff at Maui Kamaole. We hope we will have an opportunity to visit Maui in the future and would definitely love to stay at your place again if possible.

K-109, a unit in the Maui Kamaole complex, is a VERY nice place to stay. Maui Kamaole can't be beat; we've seen nothing that compares. K-109 is absolutely gorgeous, very well equipped throughout, and has lots of stuff for the beach trips. The upper pool and your parking spot are only a few steps away. This is a large unit and can easily handle four people. The flat screens, Bose music, and Internet cable should not keep you from enjoying the beautiful grounds, pools, and nearby beaches.

My husband and I returned from an awesome three week stay in K109 on March 5/09. The unit is nicely decorated and contains everything needed for cooking and beach/pool activities. This is our second year to stay in this unit and Susan is wonderful to work with regarding bookings and any special requests. The unit is conveniently located near the pool and new Weber BBQs. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. I would highly recommend renting this unit. We hope to return again in 2010.

My partner and I just returned from a week's stay in K109. We found it to be clean, comfortable, and just as described. The complex is the nicest one in the area. The location is perfect. The condo is very well appointed, with all that we needed. We would definately recommend it and we hope to stay there again in the future!

We have just returned from spending two and a half weeks in K109 Maui Kamaole...wow is it a super condo!!! You know sometimes you look at the photos of condos offered and they look super and then when you get there, you shake your head and ask yourself, just when were those photos taken, like 20 years ago??? Well not with K109!!! It looks exactly as the photos show. It is a very well equipped condo with everything you need for a relaxing vacation. It is literally steps from the pool and the location is very quiet and private. Oh also there is a lovely beach just across the road with a lovely walking trail along the shore, really good for watching fabulous Maui sunsets. The condo is super clean. I really can't say enough positive things about it. Last year we were in Mark and Susan's other condo unit and it too was equally as nice. We are regular visitors to Maui so we know it well and have stayed in lots of condos there over the years. Mark and Susan's offer the best units for the best price that we have found. Next time we go back to Maui, we will for sure stay in one of their units. Book K109 with confidence, it is great.
