We loved our stay at Ekahi! The location couldn't be beat. The complex is quiet with nice pool areas and close by to lots of great dining and shopping options. The pictures of the condo are accurate - it's very comfortable and we loved how everything was there that we needed. The beach was the nicest I have ever seen. Marilee is an excellent host who provides great service and lots of useful information to make the stay memorable. We would not hesitate to return.

We had a lovely time in this unit. This is our third stay at Ekahi and the facilities have always been fantastic. The unit we stayed in had many pluses and a few minor negatives. The pluses: The beds were comfortable, even the Murphy bed, which sounds a bit creaky but was fine for 2 adults. The lanai overlooking the pool is great; comfortable chairs, and an amazing view. The high ceilings of the unit help it seem very spacious. The air conditioning and fans work perfectly. We were concerned that being fairly close to the road, it might be a bit noisy, but it was very quiet the entire time. The negatives: The dishwasher works fine, but the door springs are broken so be careful when opening it. The washing machine was leaking. The owner phoned us as we were checking in to tell us this. A repairman came and worked on it, but was unable to fix until 5 days later. We were able to use it but had to constantly change towels to mop up water on the floor. This wasn't the end of the world and these things happen with older machines, but was a minor inconvenience. The unit would benefit from having the trim paint redone. The cabinets & closet doors felt gummy and looked grimy. I feel the unit was as clean as it could get, as it’s difficult to clean old, thick paint. Overall I would say the positives outweighed the negatives and the few negatives were mostly cosmetic. I would stay in the unit again and I'm sure that anyone staying here would have a great time.

We had a wonderful stay at this condo. It’s in a great location in Wailea. The beach is a short walk away and was lovely. The condo itself was clean, comfortable, and stocked with everything we needed. The only suggestion I would add is maybe a couple more Tommy bahama beach chairs. Would definitely stay here again!

I’m me piece feedback would be good to have aromatic with key pad lock vs a real lock box (find those so hard to put back together). Otherwise great stay!

Everything we could possibly need was available at this Vrbo! Beach chairs and Umbrella are always necessary for a. Great beach stay in Hawaii! We saw whales everyday out over the horizon and especially one night during sunset! What a treat! The pavilion access is great for you to bring your own food down to sunset and cook, eat, and drink while the sun goes down! People are very friendly. There are several long term residents staying there, so we are tempted to stay even longer next visit! Thank you, Marilee for making this place available and so comfortable!

The condo was lovely and Marilee was a wonderfully responsive host. It had everything I needed and it was the best location ever. I could easily walk from Ulua beach down to Wailea and stop for swims along the way. The whales were incredible to see! The property was great and very family friendly. It was also easy to go to Kihei for food and groceries. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

The unit is in desperate need of renovation. If you’re over 5’ 8” you’ll be uncomfortable in the shower, bathroom sink counter heights and small toilets. This is on one of the best properties in Wailea so it was somewhat disappointing.

We had a wonderful stay at Marilee’s place! Marilee was great with communication leading up to our stay to ensure we had all the info we needed. Check in was easy, kitchen was well stocked with dishes, utensils, basic condiments, etc. and the AC worked very well. The ocean view from the balcony was gorgeous. Would definitely stay here again!!

I used to stay at Wailea Ekahi when I was a kid and my grandparents owned a condo, so when my partner and I were invited to a wedding at the nearby Grand Wailea I knew I had to stay at Ekahi again. Marilee's place was perfect! She was very proactive with communication about the property prior to my boyfriend and I arriving and even sent us some local events that we might want to check out. She was also very easy to reach when we had a flight delay and wanted to ask about extending our check out time. The local caretaker, Linda, was also very easy to reach.
Wailea Ekahi is an older condo complex so if you're looking for something new and modern, this isn't it. However we appreciated the comfortable beds, functional air conditioning, and spacious layout of Marilee's unit. It had everything we needed from cooking supplies to beach umbrellas and coolers to hair dryers. The balcony was a lovely place to eat breakfast and drink my morning coffee and never got too hot! There is conveniently a quiet pool for us grown ups right behind the unit which we enjoyed, though the beach (with excellent snorkeling) and more kid-friendly pool are a 5 min walk away. The walk can feel a bit exhausting coming back at the end of a day in the sun as it is uphill, but definitely manageable.
I'd stay here again in a heartbeat, and not just because of all my childhood memories at Wailea Ekahi. Marilee was an incredible host and really helped us to have the perfect experience on Maui this week!

We spent Christmas and New Years as a family after a 2 year delay due to COVID and overall had a fantastic time with our extended family!
We had ongoing communication with Marilee with any issues we had with our condo. She was always quick to respond and always readily available to assist.
We did have some issues during our stay, which did add to some inconvenience. The first time we used the oven, it sparked and burst into flames while preheating. (sounds like an exaggeration but literally what happened) It was fixed after 2 days. So we had to our sister's oven on the other side of the property. The hand mixer was also broken so we had to mix by hand when baking. I believe a new one has been ordered. The tubs did not drain so we often had to use the showers at our parents' condo, which were also on the other side of the property, or the showers that were at the main pool. Overall cleanliness of the unit on arrival could have been better. There was quite a bit of hair in the tub drains, which we had to clean out ourselves (which was a bit gross). The counters had sticky residue on them so we had to Lysol wipe them all down. There was also quite a bit of spatter over the fridge surface so we had to wipe that down as well.
We did appreciate that the condo was stocked with plenty of the following; toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher pods, laundry pods, garbage bags, Lysol wipes.
The girls loved taking turns reading in the hammock on the lanai every morning and the AC units in the unit were wonderful as well.

Property provides comfortable lodgings on the upper floor of building 42. I really enjoyed sitting out on the lanai in the hanging chair. The unit is close to the pool area which was very peaceful during our stay. The best part though is the hostess Marilee. We had the misfortune to have our flight home cancelled just hours before we were to leave. Upon learning this I contacted her to explain our situation. She was quick to respond and allow us to extend our stay for a day if required. This was so reassuring to us while dealing with the stress of finding a flight home. We so appreciate it and recommend a stay in this unit.

Our family including 2 teens stayed at Wailea Ekahi 42E and had a very comfortable, great stay. The condo was clean, very well stocked kitchen, ocean views from the kitchen and lanai and very comfortable beds. It was great having 2 bedrooms and the murphy bed worked out great. It was nice having a pool close to the unit. The location works out well for excursions throughout the island. Would highly recommend.

This unit was not as pristine as the one my daughter's family was in but it was very comfortable. We felt right at home here. We really appreciated all the extra items that were there for our use. My daughter was especially touched by the brand new sponge that was left in tne kitchen instead of a used one.
We had a few things left (plates, napkins, sealed drinks...) we left for the next people so we didn't have to throw them away. Thank you Merilee and Tom for the wonderful experience.

We really enjoyed our stay at this condo. The complex is gorgeous with beautiful pools and access to one of the best beaches. Tom and Marilee's unit is so well stocked and offers a beautiful view from the lanai and both the king bed and queen murphy bed were super comfortable. Their home includes a very well stocked kitchen, extra linens, beach chairs, cleaning/laundry supplies and more, all of which made our stay so easy. Communication was excellent and we would certainly choose to stay here again.

It had everything we needed. The owners responsiveness and kindness throughout the time from our initial reservation to our stay was so wonderful. The walk back up to the condo is definitely a hill, since it’s near the top of the green, but a quick little workout and our kids 7 and 10 had no issues. We will be back someday!!

We had a great stay at Marilee’s condo in Wailea, celebrating our 10 year anniversary. It was welcoming and clean when we arrived, and I loved the communication with Marilee before our trip. She sent us an amazing detailed welcome letter beforehand with tons of information about our arrival, logistics, and recommendations for dining and activities. We explored the entire island of Maui (south and west) and the condo was a great location as our base. We enjoyed the beach and pool at Ekahi Village, along with the Wailea Coastal Trail which took us through amazing resorts and scenery. We hope to return here soon!

Marilee’s condo in Wailea was absolutely amazing. Where to start…. Perfect location in Wailea (close to everything and the beach walkway), 6 min walk from beach and main pool (or a 2 min walk to a closer pool haha!), great comfortable king bed, great AC, tons of beach accessories (beach chairs, snorkel gear). The porch/lanai was amazing to watch the sunset from and have breakfast/dinner on it. What more do you need? Book this place ASAP if it’s available. Would love to come back here in the future.

Marilee was extremely easy to work with and quick to respond to emails. As far as the condo is concerned... it was well stocked and was everything it was purported to be. My wife and I appreciated being able to find a smaller condo like this to stay in since we didn't need a 2 or 3 bedroom condo for just the 2 of us. Though we already knew this from prior stays in the area, the condo is in a great location. It is close enough to The Shoppes at Wailea, many nearby restaurants, and even the boat ramp in Kihei, that you can walk to those places within 20 minutes or so, if you are so inclined. The stroll from the condo down through the greenbelt to the beach side pool provides a beautiful view and then prime access to the beautiful Keawakapu beach. Big Beach is only a short drive away. No shortage of beach options, that is for sure. My wife and I would definitely stay here again. (As far as the 4 star rating is concerned, please note that I am a tough grader. To me, a 5 star rating implies that everything was perfect and nothing about the rental experience or property could have been improved upon. As with most things in life, there is almost always something that could be improved upon. As noted in my review title, I would give a 4.5 star rating if I could.)

I’ve stayed different places the years I’ve been coming to Maui but this is my favorite place. The condo complex is beautiful, the beach is a short walk from the condo to a perfect beach for swimming, playing or snorkeling. The large pool, inside the gated pavilion area was heated and had a lovely view of the ocean with many lounge chairs in the sun or shade.
Our condo was very spacious and well equipped and clean. We had a late flight leaving the island and our host allowed us to have a late checkout so we could really enjoy our last day on the island. There were many beach towels and beach chairs to use. My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay here

Everything we needed to feel at home. The layout worked perfectly for the two of us to sleep independently without one feeling they were camping on an inferior bed and we could each have our own bathroom. It was difficult to leave your lovely place: the quiet lanai with the gas BBQ, hammock-chair, flowers and beautiful view, the private quiet pool, your supply of beach chairs and umbrellas for the fabulous beach, and efficient air conditioners. We love Ekahi Village and your unit was perfect for us. We had a great rest and definitely would love to come back.

We loved our stay at Wailea Ekahi 42E! The condo was very clean, well-stocked, and well-maintained. The views from the lanai and kitchen were gorgeous and breakfast on the lanai every morning was the perfect way to start the day. We found the location to be very peaceful and quiet even with the windows open to let in the breeze. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals and has a very nice layout. We enjoyed the quiet pool just outside the condo and the main pool at the beach, a few minutes walk away. The grounds were very well maintained and the landscaping was lovely.
The beach is perfect for swimming and snorkeling and we saw turtles daily. We enjoyed walking along the beach path in the evening to enjoy the sunset or watching it from the lanai or pool.
Marilee was a joy to work with and was very timely in all her communications and provided lots of great information prior to our arrival in Maui. The unit looked just like the pictures and the views were better than we expected. We would highly recommend this condo.

We stayed 13 nights at Marilee's condo. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything we needed and more. Nice beach chairs were made available to us along with beach umbrellas, snorkel equipment, coolers, etc. Thick beach and bath towels were much appreciated.
Although the kitchen and bathroom could use an upgrade, the condo had everything we needed. The unit was super spotless when we arrived which is so important to us. The bed in the master bedroom is very comfortable. Didn't use the AC too much, only at night sometimes before bed, nice trade winds kept the place cool enough at night. Great murphy Queen bed in living room, so much better than a sleep sofa. Nice, bright and spacious living area.
The beach is approximately a 5 minute walk which we did not mind one bit because coming and going there are the ocean and mountain views and lush tropical gardens to enjoy. The view from the lanai was better than we expected.
Marilee was wonderfully easy to work with and always answered promptly any questions we had prior to us arriving in Maui. She has a way of making you feel like family! She did not hesitate one second to allow us to stay on after the usual checkout time as our flights were later in the evening.

My wife and I visit Hawaii each year. Staying at 42E Ekahi made this years trip one of the best. The view from the Lanai is fantastic! The kitchen is well stocked and you we had everything that we needed. It is a quiet property and within walking distance to beaches and shopping. Thanks for Marilee for being so attentive to pre trip planning and communication. Overall, we recommend this property.

This was our 3rd visit to this same condo at Ekahi, we love coming back! So great to have it stocked with everything we need- dishes/kitchenware, beach equipment, etc. We love watching the sunset over the water while feeding the geckos out on the lanai, walking down to the beach or the pool, or heading to the Shops at Wailea for ice cream. Can't wait to go back.

The owner seemed very nice and Ekahi Village is magnificent. The landscaping and abundant tropical vegetation are the best on the island. The unit however is lacking. Having stayed in and looked at other Ekahi and Ekolu units, this one was a disappointment. From the stained white shag carpet, filthy refrigerator, dilapidated cabinets, ancient appliances, threadbare towels, plugged shower drain, mismatched sheets, tiny TVs, weird hand written notes everywhere, to the minimal quantity of TP, this is far from "charming." If we had been staying in a hostel, it would have made sense. But for what this place rents for, we felt cheated. It needs work.
