This property is generally above the norm, however, not "newly renovated" as advertised. Toilet was unsteady and leaking downstairs and a window in downstair bedroom inoperable. For the price and fees paid, I expect a higher standard of care.

This unit was perfect for our girls trip. We loved that we had direct access to the beach. We were able to watch the whales right from our unit. We also seen turtles and a Monk Seal on the beach. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything that we needed.

Sitting on the balcony listening to the ocean roll in, capturing beautiful sunsets, and watching whales jump around is incredible.
Just below you is a grassy patch to toss a ball around, exercise, and scrape the sand from your feet. Then, use the shower by the pool to not carry any sand with you.
The home itself is perfect with all the space you need-rooms, beds, bathrooms, and a big ol couch to watch TV or relax with a book. There’s a breakfast bar, a dining table, and a 4-seater on the balcony for your morning mug of coffee.
You can escape the chaos in your private room or join the fun once you’re rested.
We did laundry so be we could come home and just unpack.
The host even helped us out with a last minute change in our flight itinerary that saved us hundreds of dollars and hours of time. Thank you again.

We spent a beautiful 10 days in this wonderful unit. Most of us enjoyed listening to the sounds of the waves as we fell asleep.
There is a nice little beach out front of the unit which is good for swimming and the pool is also nice.
The location is great being close to Napili beach and Kanapali beach and restaurants.
The manager was super easy to get a hold of and overall we really enjoyed our stay!!

This older 3 bedrooms and 2 bathroom apartment in a small complex was large enough for a comfortable stay for a family with two teens and an 11 year old. Management were very quick to fix issues when they arose. The kitchen is small but functional with good appliances and cookware. The laundry is in the 3rd bedroom and was well used. The outlook is beautiful and the sounds of the waves were lovely at night. It is 10 minutes from the action at Koonapali beach for restaurants and shopping. The local Miso Phat restaurant however had great quality sushi and was good value compared to other restaurants in the region. The beach out the front of the apartment isn’t good for snorkelling but we did see turtles and whales close to shore.

Our stay was wonderful! I can’t say enough about the view from the Lanai. We came to Maui for our 50th year anniversary and to share it with our two adult children plus their family members. I wanted to relax and read but we kept busy going places and enjoying life on Maui. It was so nice to see the west side doing so well. Thank you for your hospitality. The Coleman Clan. The plus 1 was our grandson’s Girlfriend who is a sweetheart.

After dealing with an air conditioning issue the first 2 nights that was remedied to our satisfaction. Monty stayed in contact with us and kept us updated on the a/c repair status.

We had 7 of us staying in this condo and we fit perfectly. I enjoyed coffee every morning on our patio with an amazing ocean view. This condo had everything we needed in the kitchen including spices, pots, pans, and everything to cook with that you could imagine . This was very close to front street, Safeway, and close to all the beaches. You even have a private beach right out front ! There were beach chairs and plenty of beach towels for our family to use . I liked the vintage beach house vibes . We had air conditioning in every room , we had all the essentials in each bathroom and plenty of towels for each bathroom. The rooms accommodations had comfy beds and plenty of space for luggage . We will definitely be back !

The property was perfect for our friends and family. The location was excellent. Having a beach just below us allowed us great snorkeling swimming. The whales, sea turtles, and sunsets were right out front for us to enjoy. A few glitches with the property, no big deal. Notified the property manager just so he / she would be aware that a couple of things needed to be repaired. Recommend it for families!

This was a nice unit close to the ocean with a small private beach accessible at low tide. It had a grassy area along with the pool and grills, making this very family-friendly. We liked the proximity to the towns nearby and the walking distance of a few restaurants as well.
The view is stunning, and the space worked well for our family. We enjoyed a few meals grilling by the pool and breakfast most mornings in on the deck overlooking the ocean. The rooms were cool once the A/C was on - it was a warm week in Hawaii when we stayed. There were games that our kids enjoyed, and overall, we had a great experience.
I will share that the mattresses could be updated, and the gnats were uncontrollable upstairs. The upstairs bathroom was unusable for our stay. They were so bad! I vacuumed what I could, but it was not sufficient. The property manager said that is just how it is during gnat season and that they will go away in a day. We were there for 7 days and it was apparently gnat season all 7 days. I don't think they had an appreciation for how bad it was.
Assuming that is resolved, the location, view and atmosphere of the small resort make this a great place to stay and enjoy Maui.

It was absolutely perfect for our family. The location felt private and calm. We woke up every morning and enjoyed coffee on the balcony while watching the whales jump. Amazing.
The listing does not stress enough how close you are to the beach or how incredible the view is in every direction. I saw more rainbows during our stay than I've seen in my whole entire life combined.
The property is beautifully kept and clean. All the units seem to be very well maintained. We loved the pool area and access to bbq grills. The property manager was very communicative and eager to be of any assistance.
We have already been checking the calendar for availability. We will DEFINITELY be back!

Our family stayed 10 days at the Kahana Outrigger. Everyday, we were awestruck by the view. Our first morning we saw the whales, a turtle, birds, geckos, and a rainbow. How do you beat that?

Well maintained property. Low rise units (4 per building) right on the beach and fairly private. We vacationed for two weeks with our three adult children and really enjoyed morning coffee on the deck watching whales, rainbows and a random seal and sitting down on the beach in the evening watching the sunset. Appreciated and took advantage of the well stocked kitchen and the outdoor grills. Basically moved in and made ourselves at home and we were more than comfortable. Will be returning.

We had a great time staying in 2B1. The couch was the most comfortable of any place we have ever stayed. We never contacted the owner or property management company because everything was functioning properly. The only things you could add to the kitchen are pot holders and a cookie sheet. Otherwise it was fully stocked. The air conditioning was great, although we rarely used it in any of the rooms. Nice place.

My husband and I stayed a week in this beautiful spacious condo with our three adult children and son-in-law. The condo was nicely furnished and well-equipped with all the kitchen items we needed. We appreciated the air conditioning throughout since we’re not used to the humidity. The location was ideal, close to Lahaina and several snorkeling beaches. Our very favorite thing was the balcony! We enjoyed being so close to the waves and spotting turtles in the water. We loved our stay and can't wait to come back!

We enjoyed our 8 day stay! Super comfy, great location and amazing access to the water. We appreciated the smaller complex - having stayed at larger resorts in the past - and the central location to everything we wanted to do. The pool area was a great end of day spot for us after days on the beach.
The condo management company can do a bit better with cleaning and stocking housekeeping items ie dishsoap etc. Just a tick away from 5 stars!

The property takes advantage of it's location with beautiful views of the beach, water, and sunsets. We were impressed with the owners responsiveness to questions. We enjoyed the high end appliances. It was well stocked. The lower level needs some tender loving care (especially the bath).

.Fabulous location, perfect view, plenty of comfortable seating for our group, and a lovely, sandy beach.
One thing we found annoying; there were no beach towels, even though they are listed as one of the amenities. That should be removed from the amenities list.
There was also an issue with flickering lights in the entire building, but that was something new, and the property manager was letting the building’s maintenance people know.

The condo that sits within a stone's throw from the ocean was a highlight of our vacation. The three large bedrooms were very comfortable and all amenities in working order. Except for a minor communication error in dissemination of the correct wifi and password, which was corrected within hours of our arrival, I would HIGHLY recommend this property to anyone.

We had an amazing time at the condo. 3 couples stayed a week. We had plenty of room and the kitchen is very well stocked. The views are amazing and we saw many whales. Also glad to have the pool and grill access. Nice to have the washer and dryer also. With the perfect location, we would visit again!

We had such a lovely time at the Kahana Outrigger Condos. The location was passed the busy resort areas but still walkable to restaurants and bars. The private beach and pool was so convenient for a family with little kids. Beach toys, chairs, noodles and boogie boards were provided, which were very much appreciated. The condo was a perfect size for two adult couples and two kids and was very comfortable temperature-wise. The kitchen has all of the necessities one would need for cooking and there were plenty of bath linens. The condo was clean and was decorated in a lovely island style. My favorite part was watching the whales from the lanai in the mornings. So many whales to see! We had a wonderful view! Some of the neighbors were from our neighborhood back home, which was fun. Everyone was friendly and respectful. My complaints are minor and are as follows: From what we could find, there were not any beach towels provided, so we bought some from a nearby ABC store. Unfortunately during our stay the main floor shower broke and needed repair. The maintenance team was responsive and sent a couple people out to service the shower. It was fixed on the second to last day of the trip. The loss of the shower made our stay a little awkward and inconvenient with having to share the other shower, but we understand that things break occasionally. Also, the condo appears a lot bigger in the pictures online due to a large wall of mirrors in the main living space. You have to get used to looking at yourself a lot. :) Thank you for such a lovely vacation! We would love to make a return visit sometime.

3 couples traveled to 3 islands during our Sibling Retreat. All agreed that the best accommodations were in this unit at Kahana Outrigger. The whale watching was fantastic and they can't wait to tell their friends about it and return someday!

Location and Layout deserve 5 stars but maintenance definitely needs improvement (hence 4 star rating). Layout fits any occasion or group type. Your balcony is almost over the water with magnificent views of Molokai/Lanai in addition to whales and turtles. The wonderful sandy beach feels almost private and also provides good snorkeling experience. Unfortunately the screen on screen door was broken (I fixed it), the cooktop has a big crack (but is functional), nails sticking out of baseboards and the glass dinning room table has shipped corners….with a little more maintenance this will be your 5 start stay.

First off, Peter (Property Owner/Contact) was great! He was quick to respond to all our questions and checked on us during our stay. The only negative mark I really have is taking a star rating off for cleanliness due to a piece of what appeared to be AC ducting that was left behind by maintenance prior to our arrival. Otherwise, the unit and area is FANTASTIC! The unit is dated, but most of the major appliances are new, room AC units work, and nearly every kitchen supplies and beach accessory was provided. The pictures posted don't due justice to how ideal the location is. The small but semi-private beach is great to lounge around or get in a swim before going out into Maui. There are plenty of local restaurants nearby including a local coffee shop! The parking is designated and the complex is so small we didn't usually have to compete with neighbors for anything. Advice: 1) book way ahead, 2) read the welcome binder and instructions, 3) laundry are stacked units so loads have to be small, 4) the TV is connected so you can access Netflix, Disney, etc with your own account (don't forget to sign OUT). I will say that given the laid back atmosphere of Maui, don't expect immediate repair/cleaning service, short of being locked out for some reason. However, personal story... we forgot some items in the upstairs bedroom and both Peter and the cleaning company were wonderful in finding and sending us the lost items! I highly recommend!!!

The location of the property cannot be beat. The views are excellent and the sound of the waves when sleeping at night is really blissful if thats what you like. The property is well equipped and the beach equipment came in very handy. The upstairs bathroom has a really nice shower. That being said, it was missing some very basic items, like washing detergent (at least a small starter that can last for 7 days).
The glass top kitchen range is broken and severely cracked on left side and I am a little surprised that it hasn't been replaced. When I called the maintenance and pointed it out, he mentioned that he is aware and the property owner has been informed. The AC in the upstairs bedroom is not strong at all, either its not working or that is how it is. The master bed IMHO is not comfortable, it is a spring mattress and kind off really bouncy (again this is what we thought, maybe cause we are used to a memory foam mattress).
The property definitely need some attention. The main entrance door knob is very loose and needs to be fixed. These are some things that come to my mind right now.
Again we really enjoyed our vacation and stay here, though for how much $$ is charged, I would've expected the property to be in near perfect condition.

We have talked for a very long time about taking a trip as 5 sisters. We finally did that last week when we traveled to Maui. My daughter found the condo where we stayed and it was wonderful! We were right on the beach and our balcony was perfectly placed for watching activities there. I especially loved the sound of the waves at night. I highly recommend this rental.

One of the balcony/lanai chairs broke half way through our stay, contacted Chasn Rainbows for a replacement, never happened.
No ice maker in the freezer.
No batteries in the Bose remote.
Dishwasher is weak, doesn't clean dishes very well.

Everything we needed was provided. The kitchen had everything, from spices, tools, pots, pans, tin foil, dish washer tabs, to garbage bags, it was more stocked than any other Vrbo I've rented before. There was more than plenty of bath towels and linens for everyone. Beach towels were also provided! I didn't need to rent any beach equipment, chairs and boogie boards were provided.
My family and I were very comfortable our entire stay. And the view from my balcony to simply going few steps down the stairs and beginning right on the beach was perfect!

Pros: Location is 10 minutes or less from Lahaina or Kaanapali. The condo fit a family of four and two grandparents perfectly and comfortably. There are two small beaches to enjoy near property that were quiet and had sea turtles visit and snooze on sand! Installed air conditioning unit (vs. room units) were excellent and why we chose this unit. Assigned parking spot was convenient. Pool was clean and well maintained. If it wasn't for the maintenance service issues with fridge, we'd be very, very happy!
Cons: Furniture has seen better days. Dishwasher was weak, recommend hand washing dishes. Fridge was broken. Called maintenance about fridge and never got a response. Called property manager who responded, but was unable to resolve our issue during the week. Had to buy ice every day and use coolers. Property manager provided refund to settle up on the fridge issue. Cross your fingers you don't have an appliance issue during your stay. Main level shower head was mounted to the side of tub, due to window in shower, and had no rotation ability. Had to hand hold shower head to bathe or water would be all over bathroom floor. An annoyance, but worth mentioning in case anyone has mobility / accessibility issues and can't use the wonderful shower upstairs.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Kahana Outrigger. It was a great size for the six of us. The beach access was fantastic and we saw turtles almost every day. A few things didn’t work - like the AC in one bedroom. There were some items that needed some maintenance/repair in the condo but hopefully those will be fixed before the next guests. Just an FYI for the property manager or owner, having a pineapple and a box of chocolate macadamian nuts waiting for new visitors is such a lovely gesture. Other VRBOs that we have stayed in in Maui had these items as we walked into the kitchen. This says Aloha and Welcome in the best way possible.
