The location and house was awesome!! It was very clean, well stocked and had a great patio. It is so worth staying here for the private beach. Our whole family loved going there. The weather on this part of the island is ideal as well. Great stay!!

Bruce and Eric's townhouse is truly exceptional. It's impeccably stocked with everything you need, from a fully equipped kitchen to beach essentials like chairs, an umbrella, snorkel gear, and boogie boards.
The townhouse is both stylish and spacious, offering a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. We loved enjoying sunsets and meals on the lanai.
Bruce and Eric's detailed welcome binder was a lifesaver. Filled with insider tips on restaurants, beaches, and excursions, it's clear they genuinely care about their guests' experience.
The property manager, Ann, was incredibly responsive and helpful.
We highly recommend this property to our family and friends. If we ever return to the Big Island, we'll definitely stay here again!

We highly recommend this property. It was an amazing place to stay during our recent vacation. The property manager was easy to communicate with and provided great information to us before our stay and during our stay if there was a need. The kitchen was impressively stocked with all of the essential kitchen items we could have wanted to utilize (pots/pans, dining items, utensils etc.). The patio/lanai was a perfect place to relax or play an evening game. There were items for snorkeling and playing in the water, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The home was very comfortable and in a beautiful location it is located near beaches which are family friendly for both playing and snorkeling. Day trips, to view scenery and explore are easily done from this location. There is a booklet at the home with pamphlets and areas of interest, these are very useful - we had done research prior to arriving, but looking through it allowed us to find other areas of interest.

This is a great home. Lovely and comfortable. They have everything you could possibly need and more.
We love Mauna Lani and the beach club/beach there. The pools are super and the neighborhood is quiet and private. The condo’s large sliders allow full open air into the living room. The outdoor kitchen and eating area are comfortable. The floor plan is very functional. The bikes were fun. The beach chairs, coolers, and umbrellas were useful.
This is a great home. We will definitely be back.

We LOVED everything about the condo. Size, location, proximity to the grocery store, restaurants, pool and fitness area. It was so well equipped with so many different necessities, its was awesome!

Very nice 3 bedroom home in a gated community. Always love the Mauna Lani Beach Club and the shopping center. Home was clean and kitchen was well supplied. 5 min walk to 2 pools/hot tubs. My only comment is that the king size bed is very high off the ground, making it a climb to get into bed every evening. Note also the two other bedrooms are upstairs in case you have accessibility issues.

We have stayed at several condos in Mauna Lani. This was our first stay at Kulalani and it was amazing!
The condo was luxurious, very comfortable and exceptionally well stocked with beach items and kitchen supplies.
The large main floor master bedroom / ensuite was elegant, comfortable and tastefully decorated.
The large two car garage, connected directly to the condo, was very handy when returning after a day exploring.
We really enjoyed the large and welcoming wraparound lanai for morning coffee and evening chats.
We hope to stay again,.. and again.

This place is beautiful inside and out. Every detail has been well thought out and it is clear that the owner takes pride in this home. My teenage sons could not get a bough of the yard—perfect for their passing game practices and my adult daughter loved being out on the lanai. As a chef, the kitchen had everything one could possibly need to prepare anything from a quick snack to a fancy meal. Enjoyed every minute of our stay.

We have been coming to Hawaii for fifty years, and have visited every island. This home has become one of our favorite place to stay and the grandchildren (5 & 7) love playing on the lawn, the pool, and the beach club (and the nearby malasada truck). This was our fourth stay. The condo is exceptionally well equipped and meticulously maintained. Anne Cole is always available and helpful.

Top 3 units we’ve ever stayed in! So many amenities that seem to often be skimpy in many places - the kitchen is STOCKED with anything you could need to cook/entertain. Plenty of beach equipment, towels, etc. And the bathrooms? Get out of here! So luxurious 😀. We will be back!

Very well equipped and spacious condo in Kulalani with adult and family pools and a fitness center. Family friendly. Kids made friends at pool and at the Beach Club and also enjoyed spotting fish and eels in the fish ponds and turtles while snorkeling. Being able to shop at Foodland & eat lunch at Napua, the friendly beachside open air restaurant a big plus (reservations recommended for dinner).

We had a great stay. Beautiful little beach is very close to the house. Also, only 8 minutes away is Hapuna beach - the largest of the island's white sand beaches. Pool was a great alternative when we didn’t want to drive to the beach. The property and the grounds are awesome.

We had an absolutely amazing experience here! My now-husband and I just got married at the Fairmont Orchid and had our reception at Mauna Lani resort. We flew in a week early with my parents and decided to stay here for a week prior to checking into the Fairmont for our wedding. The house is fully stocked and the kitchen is amazing! We had people stop by at various points during our stay and everyone just loved it. It’s a great place for family dinners. We grilled steaks outside and it was perfect. My dad could not get over the lani! It was his favorite part of the trip. If we do another family trip out here, we would definitely stay at this place again!

We stayed the week of July 10, 2021. We had a party of 3 adults and 3 children (17, 11, and 7). This is our first stay at a VRBO, and we absolutely loved it! The condo was very nice and well stocked. Everything was of the highest quality, from the gourmet kitchen to the amazing lanai. The house was well stocked with all of the essential items, including boogie boards, beach chairs, beach towels, and snorkels and fins. If you forget your shampoo and conditioner, they have it. This condo is the perfect place for families. There is a beautiful spacious backyard, with a huge lanai and plenty of seating. It was quiet at all times. The beds were also very comfortable. This condo is well stocked! We are very happy we chose this property to stay in. Thank you very much for the amazing stay. If we go back to Hawaii again, we will be staying here.

What a fantastic vacation home. Kulalani at Mauna Loa is an amazing resort, only to be surpassed by Unit 2202. Gourmet kitchen, huge lanai with built-in gas grill, and beautifully decorated with every amenity imaginable. Anne was so helpful and responsive. We've been coming to the Big Island every 3 years for some time.....now it will be much more frequent!!!

Our vacation at Eric and Bruce’s condo was perfect. Communication prior to arrival was outstanding, with directions, gate code, etc. We loved how clean the home was, and all the amenities. The house was stocked with EVERYTHING that we needed. The property was very well appointed from the kitchen wares, to linens and décor. It is in clean, excellent, well maintained condition set in a quiet development in Mana Lani. The indoor, outdoor living with grill and seating area on the lanai suited us. We were so comfortable, we decided to return for another visit.

We had a wonderful 9-day stay here. This condo was the perfect vacation retreat for our party of 5 (4 adults, one teen). We've been coming to the Mauna Lani resort for over 15 years and have stayed in both hotel rooms and vacation homes. IMHO, this condo is the best combination of amenities, location, and price.
LOCATION/AMENITIES:
From the easy walk to the large (and not crowded!) pool to the thoughtful supply of beach equipment (boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrella, snorkel gear, coolers), it was easy to get into our Mauna Lani vacation from day one. I am an avid cook, and the kitchen was a joy to use. The rooms are beautifully appointed, especially the luxurious master suite. Loved the easy Wi-Fi, customizable housewide audio, and the thoughtful collection of CDs in the media center, too. A surprising source of fun was the murder mystery puzzle game we found in the magazine rack—give it a try!
We split our time between the Mauna Lani Beach Club (with access conveniently included in the rental) and Hapuna Beach a few minutes up the coast, but the high ceilings and "disappearing walls" style of Kulalani made simply hanging out at the house the sum of my ambition much of the time.
GUEST CARE:
There are many luxury rentals to choose from at Mauna Lani. In my opinion, what really sets this condo apart is the superior guest care of the owners and rental manager. From the first inquiry to our final checkout, the residence manager was responsive, friendly, informative, and clear. We always felt we were in good hands, and we deeply appreciate that she and the owners took personal interest in helping to make our vacation outstanding.
We've just returned home, and we're already planning our next visit!

Oh trust me....we will be coming back. This lux condo is so spacious, extremely well equiped, beautifully furnished and so lovely to just hang out in. It's just a short walk to the beautiful 2 acre recreation area with 2 pools, jacuzzi, exercise facility and clubhouse. To our surprise and delight, we often had these facilities pretty much to ourselves. And this was high season! We especially loved the extra large master bedroom/closets/bathroom and the grassy lawn just off the patios. It made for excellent star gazing at night. Walking down to the beaches in the early AM for a snorkel in calm waters became our ritual.
We've been coming to the BI for 12 years and find it hard to beat the Mauni Lani complex and the Kohala coast. Now, we've found a condo that reflects the owners desire for high standards. Mahalo Anne for all your speedy and attentive responses to our inquiries too. It's good to have a resident manager.

We had such a wonderful stay at Kulalani! They have thought of everything! From plenty of large beach towels to practically any appliance or cooking tool you could need. Our favorite thing was sitting on the lanai in the morning having coffee. There were four adults plus our 10 month old daughter in our party, and the size of the property was very accommodating. You'll work with Anne if you rent here- and she is also lovely. Very quick on email and answers any questions.
A couple of our other favorite things were going to the pool and driving the coast. In fact we actually saw whales driving north from Kulalani on the main highway.
Clean up was rather easy and not a lot to ask on their part.
I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay! We are thankful they are willing to share their home!

Our family of 5 with 3 kids (ages 11, 10, and 8) spent a wonderful week at this property in the Mauna Lani resort. This was our third trip to the resort but our first time renting at this complex. This was by far the best value we found in the resort (previously we had rented 2 hotel rooms and then spent a lot of money for an oceanfront condo). The condo is very spacious, up-to-date, and clean with a large, ground level lanai and lots of grassy area out back for the kids to throw the football. The mattresses/beds are very comfortable with plenty of extra pillows/blankets. It was great to find the garage well stocked with 2 boogie boards, nice snorkel gear, yoga mats, suit/towel drying rack, coolers, beach chairs, and even a beach bag. The kitchen was a cooks dream with completely stocked cooking pans, serving gear, and utensils. Everything was very well labeled and the owners provided a nice guide to local sites. We walked down to the Fairmont Orchid (9 mins) to take tennis lessons. We went to the pool a couple of times but used the beach club most of the time. The owners provide lots of beach towels for use. The beach club is an easy, 3 minute drive with plenty of parking and the best snorkeling on the island. For sunsets, we took the owners advice and drove the short distance to a little cove with our cocktails. We look forward to coming back next year! Aloha

It must have been fate when another booking fell through just a month before traveling to BI but this unit was available. It is over the top for furnishings, the gourmet kitchen, the fabulous lanai with the grill, the sound system....oh, and the pool area too. It is truly paradise. We really enjoyed our stay at Kulalani 2202. It was the perfect gathering place for our family which included 5 adults and 2 small kids. We especially enjoyed the outdoor spaces (dining and living) in this condo and the lawn is lovely and great if you have little ones who want to run around. The beach club is wonderful with a great beach and terrific snorkeling right off the beach. The condo is well appointed with everything from beach toys, towels, chairs (even a cooler) to a fully stocked kitchen and ipad doc and wifi. The pools in the complex are also great (although the 'lap' pool seemed really short) and we enjoyed both. My only reason for giving this property 4 stars instead of 5 is that there is a building site (just an excavated hole really) directly in view across the lawn (maybe 400' away?). Initially this was a turn-off, but it's not active at all (no work going on), so it's quiet and really didn't impact us at all. We have visited Hawaii many times and know that construction is a fact of life there, but If I were going to return, I'd want to confirm that this site wasn't 'active'. Don't let this deter you from renting, this is a great condo at an excellent price.

This is a wonderful place to stay. We are a family of five, which includes 3 young children. The owners of this property really thought of everything!! We would return in a heart beat. The access you get to the private beach club is worth a lot! The snorkeling there is just as good as anywhere else on the island. Every morning we made some Kona coffee and sat outside and had breakfast and read. On some of the days we would use the health club on the property and partake in a morning swim. It was just perfect. I would highly recommend eating at the Beach Club too for lunch or dinner. Prices are very reasonable and everything was fresh. The laundry room in this rental is awesome! It saved my life almost everyday, as we came back exhausted and covered with grim after our adventures. The kitchen had every utensil you would ever need and we cooked at least 1 to 2 meals a day for 7 days. The grill was awesome and cooked up some amazing steaks and seafood that we had bought locally at a Ranch we found on the Island. The only thing I would do to improve our stay the next time we came is to tell the owners to turn up the hot water heater. We would have ourselves but locked out >: The shower was hot but not HOT. And after our longs days I wanted to soak in the beautiful tub that was in the master suite but the water would never get HOT enough. It took us 15 years to get our family to the BIG ISLAND and I really hope it does not take another 15 to return. I would recommend this unit to anyone who appreciates good taste, the comforts of home and beautiful outdoors.

We just stayed in this luxurious vacation propery for 9 days, and could have stayed another 9 without a problem. The condo was exquitly decorated, well supplied with kitchen necessities and extremely clean and well maintained inside and out. It was so peaceful; an absolute perfect vacation spot. The photos are beautiful, but you just have to be there to drink in all the beauty. With the glass doors opened or closed, the area is very large and not crowded. The property is perfectly situated for nice long walks around the Mauna Lani area, and walking distance to the beach or to the shopping mall for a few cooking supplies. The pool area is well appointed in the area, and large enough to be away from others for a peaceful rest in the sun. The management is extremely helpful and came thru for us for a last minute reservation. We will definately stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Kulalani 2202. It was such a relaxing homebase for our vacation. One day we didn't even leave the townhouse as it was just too tempting to curl up with our books and enjoy the comfortable surroundings. One thing we especially liked is that everything in the home is brand new and in great condition. The owners really have thought of everything and then some. There was even a bottle of the stuff you put inside a snorkle mask so it dosn't fog up while snorkling. This townhouse really is the second home that everyone would wish they had and we look forward to our next stay!

I recently spent a week at Kulalani 2202 and enjoyed every minute of it. The unit is gorgeous and huge! There’s plenty of room for several people to share the space and not be tripping over each other. The kitchen really does have everything you need – and more! I especially liked the thoughtful touches like storage containers and all the small appliances. There were many conveniences you don't normally find in other rental units.
The beds are super comfortable. And having access to beach towels and a cooler was wonderful – so nice not to have to pack them.
I loved opening the sliding doors to enjoy the afternoon breeze. With the breeze and all the ceiling fans I really didn’t need the AC, although it was nice to have the option.
And it’s great to have a beach, grocery and several restaurants within walking distance! This is a wonderful place to vacation and I look forward to returning.
