We have been bringing our family to the whaler for the last 10 years and this was by far our favorite rental. The layout was perfect for a family. It was well stocked with toiletries, kitchen needs, and beach supplies. It had so many sleeping options and was very quiet.
Our favorite thing about this condo was that it told a story about their family and them growing up at the whaler which is what we are doing with our kids. Couldn’t have been happier during our stay!

Everything in our condo was perfect for four ladies, two of which were over 75 and had walkers.
The lanai was wonderful and Laura was extremely helpful with all accommodations and responded quickly when I had questions.
The binoculars were very much appreciated.
We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect unit and i fact, booked it again for next year.

We loved our stay here! Every aspect exceeded our expectations. The apartment was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. The view from the rooms and balcony were exquisite, we loved being able to see the ocean on one side and mountain on the other. The area of the beach is great, huge plus that there are chairs and an umbrella for use free of charge. The pool was great as well, the water temperature was nice and warm. Would definitely stay again!

Our family has stayed at The Whaler numerous times. It truly is the perfect location, view, easy access to the main reason you go (the beach and sun!). We have rented from Laura twice in the past year and a half. She always responds very quickly to any inquiries I have. She has worked to accommodate our needs and has gone above and beyond as a property host. Even communications with her house-keeper Mary has been pleasant and helpful.
I would recommend either of Laura’s condos without any hesitation. They are well stocked, beautifully furnished, clean, and have amazing views! We love her units because they have a Murphy bed in the main living area that work very well for our family of 4 (two teenagers). When you arrive at the resort and walk into your condo for the first time-you’ll be amazed at how it’s even better than the pictures show. The entire Whaler resort is meticulously maintained and is beautiful.
Thank you, Laura, for another opportunity to spend quality time with my family in your beautiful condo in one of our favorite places on the planet. Maui is a dream!

What a great surprise when we walked into our vacation retreat. The rooms were immaculate and all the accoutrements needed were available. The checkout time was earlier than advertised— not the owners issue but the resort. They hot tub was inhabited by way too many little kids. The attendant did nothing to resolve this and we found other ways to enjoy the beautiful weather and amenities.

We have stayed numerous times at the Whaler and at this unit in particular. It is very comfortable for our family of three. We enjoy the use of the well stocked kitchen, the gas grills down by the pool, and the beach chairs and umbrella. Beautiful beach and great views from the lanai!

The view, the condo, the location, everything about this place was amazing! It had all the comforts of home BUT you’re in Maui AND right on the ocean. We watched the Black Rock diver from our lanai. I could even see him from the dining room table. Since we’ve seen most of the sights, we didn’t drive much and fortunately there is plenty to do within walking distance with shops and restaurants and of course an ABC store. Every part of the condo looked at Black Rock and the ocean. We couldn’t have been more pleased and we already booked for next year!

We love staying at The Whaler and this unit has been out family’s favorite. We’ve already booked for next summer. The condo is super clean. The kitchen is new and well-stocked. The bedroom has two full beds and the den has a queen Murphy bed, which was a super comfortable bed setup for our family of four. I like how the unit isn’t too low or too high in the condo. Floor 5 is just right. The only thing missing from this condo is a washer/dryer in unit. We had to use the community washers, which weren’t always available, so we had to run to other floors on occasion.
As for The Whaler, it’s my favorite resort in the Ka’anapali area. It’s close to Whaler’s Village for food/shops. It’s close to black rock for snorkeling … although, the beach in front of The Whaler has decent snorkeling there, too. It has an enjoyable/quiet pool - it won’t compete with the big hotel pools, but it does the job for our family. They have towel service - four towel cards for our family of four. They have beach chairs. They used to let you feed the Koi, but that has recently stopped. Maybe they’ll restart at some point?

THANK YOU for sharing your property with our family! Previously we have stayed at the Westin and Marriott (pre-kids). We wanted something more than a hotel room while bringing our kids for the first time (4 years and 10 months). We are so happy we took the chance on VRBO!
The Whaler is a hidden gem, so close to our very favorite Black Rock beach. The condo is so very well appointed! We had everything we needed to make pancakes for the kids, have beach chairs/ umbrella and toys for the day, and there was even a stool so my 4 year old could reach the sink to brush his teeth! EVERYTHING was thought of in this property. The view was also incredible and we enjoyed having dinner on the lanai.
We were so blown away by the beautiful and well kept property, ease of the front desk, proximity to all of our favorite restaurants. We had the best week and truly thank you for sharing your property with us. We loved it so much we hope to be owners one day too :)

has thoughtfully provided extra supplies in the kitchen like storage containers, foil, plastic wrap, ice packs and a small cooler making it so easy to pack a picnic. Thank you, Laura, for sharing your condo. The view was amazing.

Wow!! This is a beautiful unit! Perfect location, and it has everything you need in the kitchen. There are beach chairs, boogie boards and more! We surely felt like home while we were staying here.. We absolutely loved our stay in this unit! The Whaler is so welcoming & very well maintained. The unit itself is updated, functional, & very family friendly. Best of all--the balcony! My husband and I totally loved having such a big balcony with amazing views to enjoy with our daughter when awake & asleep. We'll definitely be keeping this place in mind when coming back to Maui.

The unit was very well stocked and completely ready for us when we arrived. It was spacious and the beds were extremely comfortable. This unit has a superior location on the Whaler property with well located in the Ka’anapali Beach area. Wonddrful views of Black Rock and Molokai...great time watching the whales from the lanai every day! The Whaler property is first class and the staff is very friendly and responsive to guest questions or concerns. Love, love The Whaler!

We've traveled to most of the islands and are always a bit leery of owner descriptions. This property is more then we expected. The overall condition was excellent and the view from the living and bedroom patios was fantastic.
The unit is on the 5th floor and as close to the oceanfront as possible. The beach and Whaler Village were just outside the door and offered all the necessary conveniences within a very short walk.
The unit is equipped with everything one would need with washer/dryer (free) just a few steps down the hall. There are beach chairs and coolers available which was a nice touch.
The pool area and grounds are great and offered a great alternative to the ocean when wanted.
We used the conditioning gym and were impressed with the multitude of equipment available.
The staff were all gracious and check-in went smoothly.

My family loved this unit! Being that we are 3 adults in my family and this unit has 3 real beds (not one as a sofa bed) it was the perfect unit for us. The view... gosh I can't stress how simply amazing it is. Several nights I fell asleep out on the lanai just listening to the ocean. The unit had just been renovated and the new kitchen is amazing. The dishwasher is so quiet that I came home and purchased the same one for my house!!! The owner of the unit is wonderful to work with and quickly responds to any email or phone call. I strongly recommend getting up in the morning and feeding the Koi fish. The food goes fast so don't be late. They feed them once each morning and they give you a paper cup full of food and you can walk around and feed them. I simply can't explain how perfect everything is at this unit and property. I also want to add (they may be done by now) the construction at the Whaler shopping mall, you can't hear any of the construction noise from the unit or when you are sitting out on the Lanai. They are remodeling the lower level and walking paths at the shopping center, but all the stores are open. We also got the chance to meet the lady who handles the cleaning of the unit and she was super nice and helpful. Checked in on us and did a mid week cleaning. She also had nothing but wonderful things to say about the owner of the unit. To help save money on food I suggest stopping at Costco by that airport when you arrive or also going to the local Napili grocery store located at Napili Plaza at Napilihau st & Honoapiilani Hwy (30) Also go to Slappy Cakes for breakfast one morning. You cook your own pancakes on a griddle at your table and they have all kinds of toppings to put in them. One last suggestion for savings on food is to go to Whaler Shopping center lower level is a small food court. The restaurant on the far right has all kinds of fresh local fish and shrimp and chicken dishes. It was amazing! I think I had dinner 4 nights there. I always took it to go and walked back to the unit (3-4 min walk) Have a wonderful trip, you won't be disappointed with this unit!!!

We stayed here for a week with our 2 young children. We had been to Maui several times before but this was our first time at The Whaler. I don't think we'll ever stay anywhere else. This unit was perfect with kids because it is a large unit that allows for some separation with the murphy bed in the living room and the beds in the bedroom. The unit was also very clean and updated and has wonderful ocean views. The Whaler in a perfect location because you can walk to restaurants, shops, and the beach is not only steps away, but has great snorkeling, paddle boarding, etc. and there is a path along the beach for walking/running. The owner was extremely nice and went out of her way to accommodate us, and The Whaler staff were all very nice and helpful. Already planning our next trip!

We have stayed at hotels in Maui for the last 4 years. We switched to whaler this year, and this unit provided us with the most memorable vacation ever. I researched all the available units at Whaler, we decided on this one. I spoke to the owner on the phone, and in less than 30 minutes, set up the reservation, learned about all the procedures, amenities, and services available to us. When we entered the unit it was exactly as described. The view from the Lani is breathtaking, and the living facilities made us feel right at home. Check-in, parking and check-out went smoothly.The Whaler staff, from Connoisseur, to pool attendants were courteous and friendly. We have already booked our 2016 vacation with this owner. Enjoy your vacation at the Whaler.

My recent stay in Maui was won of the most pleasurable trips I have had in a long time. I have only stayed at hotels in Kaanapali prior to this stay and I must say, I will never go back to hotels again. The condo experience is the way to go! The check-in was so easy, the front desk people were very friendly, but the best part was the condo itself. It was extremely large, super clean, the balcony was amazing, you could practically live on it. The views were beautiful, you could see people jumping from Black Rock. The beds were very comfortable, probably the best nights rest I have had in a long time. You could cook if you wanted to as the kitchen was fully equipped, but you are in walking distance of everything. If you are thinking about a trip to Maui, think about staying at The Whaler.

I spent my 60th Birthday at The Whaler! We rented 3 units for our large group and by far this was the best! The views are spectacular - not too high or too low. Perfectly situated away from wind and direct sun. The lanai is huge allowing for a complete indoor/outdoor experience. This unit has been updated. The owners have taken great care to assure the comfort of their guests and are available to answer any questions about the unit or area. Having stayed at The Whaler before I knew exactly what location I wanted and this unit did not disappoint! I would highly recommend this unit!

My husband and I recently returned from a 2 week stay in Maui. While there, we had the opportunity to stay at the Whaler. The condo is well decorated and fully equipped with everything you may need. We loved sitting on the lanai whale watching! Wow! What a view! The beach is steps away as is shopping and restaurants. The beach walk is wonderful, and walking up and down made us realize the Whaler is in a perfect location. The owner was very gracious and prompt in answering all our initial questions. Thank you for sharing your condo with us, we will definitely be back.
