The toilet ran constantly and shut off then ran again. No internet or tv. We messaged someone about the tv and never got a response. Parking is terrible unless you pay for a spot, then it's in a basement area with barely room to turn around.

Nice location. No frills. Tired and slightly dirty. The pictures do not represent the real property. It really needs a remodel or deep clean. The property feels like it has been forgotten by the owners. Functional, but mattresses are worn, toilet runs, no fan in the bathroom. Did call the owners about parking and they did call us right back.

Loved the condo with views of Diamond from the front of the building and on the beach in back. Nice size condo for family of 4. Everyone enjoyed the space ( parents, 17,19 year old boys). Closed to everything, but quiet area. Quiet at the condo too. Beautiful sunset from the lawn area in the back. Owner was very responsive and easy to contact. Condo was very clean.

This place has potential but is sorely neglected. Lights dont work, dusty lampshades. The freezer door below the fridge does not close. There was a rug folded up in front of it ro catch the leaking water. The frezzer is all iced over. The coffee pot was filthy and is all a burnt through on the bottom. We contacted the host immediately but never heard back. We also contacted VRBO. No word from anyone!

Was close enough for easy walk to Waikiki Beach n Uber stop was right in front on condo. Very handy! Barefoot Beach was a great place to eat n reasonable on prices n in walking distance. The views from back of condo were stunning n relaxing!

The unit could use some updating. I found it very dark as you don’t want to open the curtains as one side of the unit is on the walkway and the other overlooks a very old and unkept building where residents have very messy outdoor areas.

Nice place away from Waikiki beach yet close to walking distance. Made a nice stay.

The back patio is the perfect place to watch the sunset. Very quiet and secluded. Most of our activities were about an hour away but, everywhere you look is breathtaking. The property was an excellent place to come back to and relax. The portable beach chairs and umbrellas you provided were a very pleasant surprise. We’ll definitely be back again if you’ll have us and, recommend your property to anyone coming to this beautiful island.

The condo was really nice and clean with a quiet atmosphere. Great location. The sunsets at night on the back lawn area overlooking the ocean were amazing.

We had a short family trip to Hawaii. The makai suite was just what we needed. The living room was amazing, comfortable after a long day. The beds were comfy and the air conditioning in the room was a plus. We live in Alaska and it was much needed. My favorite part was at the back of the building overlooking the ocean. I recommend this place for family's looking for a place to stay in Hawaii. Thank you from my family. Mahalo!!

This is a wonderful property. Everything that you could possibly think to need is here. All you need to do is show up and enjoy! Wifi was reliable. Lots of TV and movie channels for family movie nights. The location is perfect. We especially loved watching the sunsets every evening from the patio area which is directly over the ocean with comfortable chairs to sit back and enjoy. We found the other residents and guests to all be friendly and nice - it is a very great area of Oahu and within short drive of Pearl Harbor, lots of beaches, shopping, etc. I will definitely look forward to coming back here to vacation time and time again. Thanks Mia!

The place was decent, good enough. my complaints feel a little picky but i wish i'd known ahead to here it is: 2 bedrooms is misleading - we needed 2 bedroom, but this was a room off a bedroom -maybe a walk in closet from the one bedroom turned into a bedroom. windows did not have screens, so we continuously used a noisy air conditioner that blasted cold air onto the sofa seating when on, room was stuffy if left off.; parking free on the other side of the park across the street; the apartment has no view or balcony - there is a nice terrace at the end of the building, usually not crowded. my final fee was 50% than the initial search listing - expect added fees.

If you are looking to stay away from the hustle and bustle this is the place. Although you can't see the ocean from the room you can sit on the back lawn and enjoy the view as the weather is perfect everyday. You can still go into the water there is very short to the left or right to takes stairs onto the water. My sister and I were ready to lay the chairs down and sleep outside. There are chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards available for you to use, plenty of beach towels. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking. The people that live here are very nice. You can always contact the owner and get a quick reply. If we get the chance to come back we would stay here.

We had a great stay and in a perfect location. The property was as described in the listing. The property patio was great to sit and enjoy the beautiful views. My only suggestion would be to ensure renters are aware of the parking being $30 a day or metered parking. Weekdays were no problem finding a place, weekends were hard.

We had a great trip to Honolulu that was stress-free because of our awesome accommodations. We loved the property. We also liked being away from the main Waikiki beach area but only a short 15 minute walk away. The owners were very responsive and immediately answered the one phone call I needed to make to them during the trip. The only suggestion for the owners is to provide hot pads for cooking and more than one dish towel. Otherwise, we loved it and would choose the property again.

When we arrived to the property, it wasn't cleaned. Mia worked with us to remedy the situation, but it would have been nice to arrive to a clean place to rest after our long plane ride. The condo is very dark, would suggest some colorful drapes or more Hawaiian theme decorations, to make the experience better. Over all it was a nice place with all necessary items to enjoy the beach.

Great location just off waikiki. Out of the crowds, and closer to some other great places.
As everybody mentions parking is a hassle, but we never had to walk more than 200 yards to the unit. There is a drop off spot right in front of the hotel.
The unit was clean they had toys and boogie boards and snorkeling equipment. Had some wonderful morning coffee and evening drinks down on the waterfront.

We loved being off Waikiki, but close enough that we walked home from the Hilton one afternooon. The beachfront was lovely, we took dinner down three nights. Apartment was clean, nicely appointed, and quite comfortable. Little details like a fully stocked spice rack, coffee filters and beach towels were a very nice touch. We will definitely return, the Makai was a great value, and I would recommend it highly.

The location is good. The room appeared like the pictures. Half the window screens were missing so mosquito were a problem. A third of the vertical blinds fell down 1St time we opened them. The channels for the windows were full of mold.Toaster oven and oven hadn't been cleaned in a long time. Dishwasher had a lot of mold or rust, we washed dishes in the sink. I finally fixed garbage disposal. Toilet ran and faucets until plumbers came. Wireless went out for 6 days, printer had no internet connection. Wear house shoes of some kind, the floors were dirty. Watch for the spiders and webs under all tables and chairs. Stove light and fans didn't work.

This was our 43rd time to Waikiki (we love it here) however it was our first time staying a short distance away from all the main hotels. Best decision we ever made! This is the first time we could actually sleep in an not awake to garbage trucks an other loud noise coming from the busy streets of Waikiki. The location right on the ocean was like staying in Maui but with the convenience an fun of being inWaikiki! Having a full kitchen was great not having to eat all meals out... or perfect for the late night snack! We will always stay here on all our future visits ?They even had a meet an greet party one of the nights we where there, it was great to meet some of the others in the condo complex. Would highly recommend this condo

The owners were very nice and communicated well. I was very happy with my stay here, the beds were so comfortable! We definitely saved on parking with the many spots available right across the street. So convenient and much cheaper then the hotel parking fees. I love the privacy you get and at night it was very quite if you want to rest up for your next days adventures. We will be coming back very soon!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The location was great across the street from the park. A nice patio and grass lawn to sit and enjoy a beautiful view of the ocean. It was a short walk to the beach and restaurants.

The condo was a perfect fit for the 4 of us. It was clean when arrived. Plenty of dishes and cookware, Bath towels and Beach towels. Thanks Shane. Had breakfast there every morning. We were up with the sun and on a run to see the beautiful sunrise. While others caught up on sleep. We may not of had a balcony over the ocean but the view from the courtyard was just awesome and beautiful. Sunsets there were breathtaking, just couldn't take enough pictures. Although when you walk out of the door there is space where you can see the ocean and a palm tree, it catches the eye every time, even saw a whale from this spot. Or if you look the opposite way you see the summit of Diamond Head. The Location was perfect for this trip. Quiet and relaxing, easy access for walking or driving. Parking was no problem for us. We were gone early and back late just about every day. So we had free parking on the street. There is a small area of beach if you want your own privacy or a short walk to a very nice beach park with lots of palm trees for shade or picnic and great pictures. There are many small local restaurant near by on Monsarrat Ave. Where you can get delicious fish tacos, amazing hamburgers, mushroom chicken and rice, pizza, acai fruit bowls and smoothies. Just past the beach park on the boardwalk is a place called Barefoot Cafe, all the food there was totally amazing! From the property we were able to reach many attractions such as diamond head, Pali Lookout on Pali Hwy. Went to north shore to see the big waves of the Eddie Surfing competition. Shopped at Haleiwa, The Swap Meet at the Hula Bowl, great buys for souvenirs. While in this area go to Pearl Harbor and give thanks for those who served and gave their lives for our Freedom. You can also hit the Punch Bowl the same day. Teds Bakery, North Shore, Saw turtles at Turtle beach. Took several hikes and saw awesome views. While on the North Shore don't forget to get a bite at a shrimp truck, very very good. Don't forget your Pineapple float at "Dole" and get your picture in the pineapple garden. :) South side the beautiful Mounalua Bay great for snorkeling for first timers. Then continue along the coast for a beautiful shore line. The East side the mountains to the ocean was beautiful. If its raining the Mts. on the H3 is just beautiful with continuous waterfalls, hard to keep your eyes on the road. China Mans Hat was also an interesting sight. Everything was BEAUTIFUL! Will be back!!

First let me say that the manager was easy to deal with and everything was delivered as promised. Also we feel that the location of this building is among the best in Honolulu considering that it is ocean front (but not ocean view), a short stroll (15 min) to the main strip of Waikiki and the common lawn area facing the ocean is gorgeous. However, if you are the type of vacationer who feels that the room you stay in is an integral part of the overall holiday experience, you'll be sorely disappointed here. Not only does this unit not have an ocean view due to its low 2nd floor location, the view it does have, of a grungy condo building mere feet away is simply awful. So bad we kept the curtains closed even in the living room the entire time we stayed. Also most of the sliding doors and windows wouldn't open anyway. You are so close to the building next door that we were treated every night to the return home about 10 pm of a foul mouth neighbor who smoked pot and yelled loudly at anybody and everybody within earshot. Like living in an inner-city slum, I imagine. Despite all that, we tend to focus our vacations on the external amenities, so we survived just fine and really enjoyed our walks down to the beach and the main part of Honolulu. And we needed a two bedroom unit this time so it served that function just fine although renters should be aware that you have to walk through one bedroom to get to the other. Not ideal for two married couples, but okay for a family and their kids. Would we stay there again? Yes to the building, no to this unit.
