Great Condo located in the heart of Kihei. Beaches, parks, shops, restaurants and bars. Great view of ocean with swimmers, surfers and snorkelers. Our hosts, Ligia and Mike couldn’t have been better. Our first nite we had problems with the TV set. The next morning they showed up with a brand new 65 inch set. Ligia would text every few days to check if all was well and see if we needed anything. Great hosts, great Condo!

The best features of this property is location and view. I think this is the only 6 story building in the area and is designed with all units to have an ocean view. Since this unit is on the top floor, the ocean view was the best! We enjoyed watching surfers, both experienced and beginners in surf school, from our lanai. The location is adjacent to shops, restaurants, and bars. The building lower level has shops including a great deli and a convenience store.it also has good off street parking. The owner was very responsive to questions or problems we had.

The owner is very responsive to all your needs. She starts you off with a great introduction to the locale. When you arrive there is a bottle of wine and 2 glasses chilling in the frig. Unit is newly refurbished and tastefully decorated. Kitchen is the best equipped I've ever seen. Espesso machine! WITH COFFEE. Parking is secure and easy. Surfboard rental and beach right accross the street.

The view of the beach from this property is fantastic! The property is conveniently located close to restaurants, stores, the beach, etc. Ligia was a great host who responded to our requests in a timely manner. We would definitely rent this property again.

Pros:
*The place is good enough for two.
*Had "boogie boards", beach chairs and snorkeling stuff available on deck that we used. Didn't see a sign saying we couldn't, so we helped ourselves.
*Mostly is as advertised. The walk across the street to the tiny beach didn't bother us.
*Little store right below the rooms, around the corner, had drinks, snacks and trinkets available, if need be.
Cons:
*Some review may have mentioned a loud AC (if I remember correctly), that is true. I like to chill watching TV in the evenings after a long day. Had to turn up the volume to hear over the AC.
*Shower curtain was dirty from the inside of the tub, upon arrival. Used one of their washcloths to clean it up best we could for the stay.
*Hairs on the bathroom wall upon arrival.
*Host is extreme about turning off AC when not in room. We stepped out one day and received a text from host about us having not shut off the AC. Felt weird, as if we were being watched, and I said so over text. She replied that they dropped off a dish scrubber and found the AC on. I replied I DIDN'T ASK FOR A SCRUBBER. Either way. Super weird. She told me how expensive the electricity is in Maui, etc. Well, too bad, but I'm from Alaska. When I get back to my room, after a hot day out, I don't want to wait 2 hours for a noisy AC to chill my room in order to get comfortable.
My advice: Regardless of the electricity prices, but breathing down my neck because of the AC ruined it for me. If she stops that controlling trait, she will get better reviews. In fact, I was going to ignore the unclean shower curtain and hair on wall stuff, but after my frustration of feeling "snooped" on without asking for a scrubber, I decided to give my honest review. I know she tries hard, but sometimes you just have to let your guests be, unless they ask for your service. The silly scrubber thing really felt like it was her excuse just to check up on us.
Note: Not the host's fault, but when the TV wasn't working for a day, she did a decent job in making an effort to resolve the issue and gave us access to another form of entertainment through an app, meanwhile.

If your looking for a location that is within walking distance to anything you will want, this is it! It is very busy due to the location, but the beach, Saltwater Café with organic and fabulous gluten free options was priceless for us. The unit is adorable, nicely kept and cozy. Wonderful stay!

This condo was perfect. Starting with a beautiful condo with an owner that setting it up perfectly for amazing vacation.
There were benoculars to see the whales from the lanai as well as chairs to use at the beach. She's thought of everything. Add to that the location is perfect with a beautiful view and walking distance to so many of our favorite restaurants. Thank you for an awesome visit. We'll be back.

Paddle boarding and surfing right across the street, great food and bars within 2 blocks, shopping nearby, deli and convenience store in the building—everything was at our disposal at this cute condo with great sunset views. Owner was helpful and provided plenty of insight for our trip to Kihei! Great time!!

The property was in a great location within Kihei. It was close to the airport and many restaurants and shops. Located across the street from a wonderful park and small beach area which was great for swimming and surfing. I would definitely recommend this property.

This unit, on the 6th floor of the Island Surf condos, was very comfortable for us. Everything was neat and tidy when we arrived. The bed was comfortable and there was a large sectional couch in the living area for spreading out and watching TV. The kitchen was well stocked ... esp. with things I usually forget to pick up at the store, like coffee filters and salt & pepper. The small balcony was great ... so nice to have breakfast out there while watching people learn to surf at Cove Beach. Opening the balcony door and the bedroom windows provided a nice cross-breeze on windy days so we didn't use the A/C at all.
The only drawback to this unit was that it is close to busy Kihei Street so you get traffic noise all day long ... and of course some people have to gun their motors or play loud music in their cars. It you were hoping to hear the lap of waves and wind in the palms, this may not be the place for you. On the other hand, it is convenient to a number of shops and eateries, including an extensive food truck park just up the street, and is across the street from Kalama Park.
Ligia was a very responsive manager and answered our questions promptly.

The unit had everything we needed. I stay in rentals regularly in Kihei and this one had some special touches that I found beneficial. Seasonings & coffee stocked, binoculars to catch some whales. Great sunset view and close to the usual places I eat and grab coffee. Lidia was a fabulous host and we had no issues with our stay.

We booked three nights at this property. It had a great view of the ocean.
We discovered mold in the air conditioner as well as ants and fleas in the kitchen. We contacted the property host about the air conditioner but a replacement would not be available until after our stay would be complete.
We left early after 2 of three nights due to poor air quality from the moldy Air conditioning system as well as the ants and fleas we discovered in the kitchen.
I contacted the owner a couple of times to request a refund only for the night we did not stay. I sent them a photo of the moldy air conditioner.
The owner refused to refund the night we did not stay.

Ligia was a fantastic host: communicative, welcoming, and accommodating. The Island Surf condos are in a great location for exploring South Maui, and a pretty central location for longer excursions to other parts of the Island. Being able to walk to Charlie Young and Kamaole 1 was a big plus. Unit is comfortable, but a little rough around the edges and could use some updates.

The location is great, walk to restaurants, Kamala Park across the street and a great view from the lanai balcony. While the building is older, it is well kept and this condo, the owner has decorated very well. The owner is very responsive to any questions, check in process was easy. I would stay here again!!!

The condo is quite old with no updates and the cleanliness of the place needs a lot of close attention by the host!
The location is great, across from the beach with many shops around, although it is quite noisy at night with street traffic, especially if you have a guest sleeping on the pull out couch in the living room. The pull out couch is extremely dirty, my guest opted for the blow up bed we requested.
The air conditioners in the bedroom and living room were both old and in need of updating as they don't put out much cool air and they cut in and out constantly - at minimum, changing the filter would probably help.
Highly suggest paying a bit more for a newer, cleaner, updated, well maintained place, than staying here.

The ocean view was spectacular—more of a south west view with the surf shop below and across the street. You need to walk to the beach park across the street to see the sunset, however the walk is worth it.
The house was stocked with coffee and an excellent espresso and coffee maker. It had all the amenities for cooking as well as spices and condiments. We used InstaCart for whatever else we needed.
The Bose radio was enjoyable and a nice extra touch.
There’s beach chairs, a cooler and plenty of towels for a beach day.
The unit had AC—nice after a day in the sun.
Upon our arrival, we found a chilled bottle of wine for our anniversary.

Ligia is an excellent host; very responsive and accommodating. Everything was perfect except the carpets were very worn and appeared grungy; and the unit has some street noise. Ligia provided 2 pairs of excellent binoculars which were wonderful for sitting on the deck and seeing whales . The view is gorgeous.

The property location is great, parking is easy and plentiful. Property was clean, great view, great location by the beach and restaurants are close and walkable area. We appreciated condiments in the fridge and other little items available that made the stay like home. Binoculars, extra towels, washer/dryer etc. I would stay here again and recommend to a friend.

Nice paved walking/running area across street at the park/beach. Walking distance to many restaurants and shopping. Would consider staying here again if we return to Maui.

Our stay in Kihei was perfect from the moment we arrived through our departure. After 15+ hours of travel, we arrived at night to our condo that was festively decorated for the holidays. In the morning we were blown away by the amazing view. The condo was clean and the kitchen had all the things one would need on vacation, including an espresso machine with great coffee. Our host was generous with helpful tips and outing suggestions. Of all the places we have stayed in Kihei, this is our favorite and we hope to return soon!

Overall, I am happy with the experience...and I would come back. Two things that can, and should be better are the internet connection (way too slow and unreliable), and the AC in the bedroom (it kept going off in the middle of the night and water would drip water). The apartment is not new or modern. However, it has all the basics. A few "modernization" things would put this place at the top of the list every time because of the location, convenience, and price. Lidia, the host, was fantastic and very friendly. Again, I would and probably will come back in the future.

We loved this condo! It was very comfortable and decorated with nice tropical island touches. Not to mention the amazing ocean view. Best of all, it was just a block or two from a wide variety of restaurants and bars. Something for everyone. It was on the top floor, so no sound of footsteps from above. Super comfy bed, with a friendly landlord who greeted us upon our arrival and ensured our stay was perfect. Would definitely stay here again!

Wow. Where do I start. How about the one positive I have about this condo, is the view/location. Right in the middle of everything. Walking distance to grocery store and restaurants and shopping in general. The view from the balcony is beautiful.
Now on to the reality of this condo.
-The whole place was dingy and gross. Like nothing has been cleaned in years. The curtains to the patio door had layers of dust, dirt, stains, and dead bugs. The throw pillows on the old couch were threadbare and holey and stained. The walls were stained in the bathroom with dried hair stuck on it. I could go on for ages, but you get the picture.
-No coffee table in front of the couch. Had nothing to set a drink on??!!!
-The handle for the shower is nearly broken and falling off, you had to shake and pull hard...and cross your fingers it would turn on.
-The maid service did a crap job. The comforter on the bed had literally dried chunks of snot and food. I wonder when it was last washed (shudder). We moved the coffee maker and some placemats on the countertop to make more room, and it was full of crumbs and ants.
-ANTS! and ROACHES! The ants were just everywhere in the kitchen. Crawling on the dishes, food, and all over the bath room as well. Killed a few huge roaches, blech! Had to spend my own money on ant traps and whatnot to get them under control.
-When we went to go make coffee, and the coffee maker had old moldy grounds still in it. And the espresso maker had old moldy water floating around in the tank. Super gross.
-The old oven/stovetop works, but you don't know what temperature or setting your at because they have been rubbed off. Plus you can't really bake anything because there were no cookie sheets, only one muffin tin.
-The washer and dryer held only two bath towels at once and has overall seen better days.
I corresponded with the owner all of my concerns (with photos to prove I'm not some psycho). She completely ignored most of my concerns, and I'm not really sure she read my messages thoroughly because she had the building manager drop off a new shower curtain liner even though I never mentioned it (that was about the only thing clean). After spending my own money on pesticides, I strongly asked for her to get someone out to spray. She did get someone scheduled, but by the time they were to come out....I had the pest problem under control.
All in all, for the t.h.o.u.s.a.n.d.s. of dollars paid for the trip, I got ripped off.

We couldn’t have asked for a better stay! The location is literally steps away from anything you’d want to do while in Kihei (restaurants, bars, beach, surf rental, etc.)! We didn’t have a car and didn’t need one! The host was very quick to respond and left us with tons of amenities (boogie boards, snorkel gear, and a chilled bottle of wine upon arrival) 10/10! Thank you!!

If you’re looking for a spacious place that has a top floor ocean view, full kitchen and laundry IN the room and within walking distance to the beach, dining and shopping and an awesome park then this is the place for you! My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and fell in love with the place and the town of Kihei! The property manager was also on top of communication, super helpful and even had a surprise waiting for us when we arrived for our Honeymoon which was very sweet and made us love the place that much more!

We picked this unit for its location, view, and esthetics. We went to just about all parts of Maui and this unit was central to everything. We could easily drive 20 minutes to Wailea, then < 2 hours to Haleakala summit, 20 minutes to the Mill House (my fav restaurant), etc.
The view from 6th floor is amazing. We enjoyed coffee in the patio looking at surfers every morning.
The building is very clean, maintained, and safe. Restaurants, coffee shop, and grocery store within walking distance.
Only negatives were that the sheets could be replaced. They looked well used. But the bed was comfortable. Also, it's a little weird that the bedroom has no windows. Probably for security reasons.

We travel the world. This planning experience was the most difficult that we have ever encountered. Communication with the owner was horrible! It was only after contacting “miss Meeshal” with VRBO and having multiple emails and phone calls over a two week period that we were able to complete our planning for this four night trip. After communication between VRBO and LIGIA, the owner, the owner became much more welcoming. As the saying goes it was too little too late for our needs. We actually had asked to have a refund and start with someone new, but apparently that was not an option. Our experience at the location in Kihei, Maui Hawaii was a good one. The owner did provide a bottle of Chardonnay wine, that was nice, the unit was air-conditioned however the owner requested the air conditioners be turned off when we were gone. The weather was about 90°F and 80 percent humidity, turning off the air conditioners was a very bad experience since these were window units and not central or mini split units. The location of the condominium was superb with excellent panoramic views towards Molakini, the small town of Kihei was fun to walk with many eateries, so overall the experience was positive except for the owners attitude prior to our arrival.

My wife and I visited Maui to celebrate her birthday. The accommodations here were excellent. The location is very convenient in the heart of Kihei. The condo was just as advertised... comfortable, clean, and a great view. A short walk to the beach, snorkeling areas, shopping, and dining. Ligia was a great host, responsive to all of our needs. She was very prompt in replying to all of our questions, and had a solution to every unexpected challenge. She even left a bottle of wine in the fridge for us to celebrate my wife's birthday! We would definitely stay here again the next time we visit Maui.

When I mentioned the shower wasn't getting very warm, she was quick to come take a look and get it working again. She also left us a bottle of wine to celebrate my girlfriends birthday. We enjoyed our stay very much. The apartment had EVERYTHING! I’ve never stayed in such a well equipped place before! Forgot your shampoo? Right there available for you. Need beach towels? Here you go. Need to do a load of washing? The detergent is right next to the machine. The kitchen is also fully equipped.
The view is beautiful and the balcony from which we enjoyed it was large and comfortable, with romantic decorative lights that turn on in the evening.
Ligia was very available, ready to respond to our every whim!
Next time I’m in Maui I won’t be looking for another place!

We just spent two weeks in this lovely ocean view condo! You are walking distance to Kalama Park (we rented the pavilion and held a family BBQ there, it was fantastic. Sea 🐢 s on the rocks as we are enjoying family time). Great restaurants all walking distance : Kihei Cafe for breakfast, Three's Bar and Grill, the BBQ joint right next to it we both great! Happy Hour on the 2nd floor patio at Lava Rock was fantastic too!!
The owner, Ligia, is absolutely fantastic. After a long day of travel, I ended up losing the key, and she came to the rescue in no time. I couldn't speak higher praises. She made us feel at home from the second we got there to the second we left. We look forward to coming back for years to come!!

The condo owner is probably the best thing about this place! She's reachable anytime you have a question or concern and goes above and beyond to ensure you get the most from your vacation.
Her unit is on the 6th floor, which is above power lines and provides a nice view. Also farthest (up) from traffic noise. (the singular common complaint of visitors to Island Surf).

Stayed here for 10 days with a great view of the Beach. Logia, the home owner was very pleasant and offered any assistance you may need. Has the softest bathroom towels ever. Beach is right across the street with Paddle board as well as Surf board rentals. A two bock walk to all the top end Restaurants and the triangle of Kihei. Everything you need is right here.

We stayed at Ligias place for 2 weeks. We loved everything about the unit. It was beautiful, great location and had lots of little extras that made our trip wonderful. She had beach chairs, a wonderful rolling cooler, ice packs, beach towels and everything else we needed. We are already planning our trip back and plan to stay here! In other reviews we saw that people complained about being hot. We did NOT have this problem. There is a nice new air conditioner in the bedroom that cooled the bedroom down within 10mins of turning it on. We loved being able to walk to our favorite resturant, Paia fish market. The park across the street was a wonderful place to take a walk and watch the sun set. I really cant list one thing we would have changed about this wonderful condo.

The property was in a good central location with lotsa parking and across the road from a park & shoreline. Walking distance from restaurants and grocery shopping. The unit was comfortable, had a good array of appliances (really appreciated the fridge ice dispenser). It was dated but well maintained. We had a bit of an issue with the state of cleanliness when we arrived, sticky floors, bathroom & kitchen, several bobby pins on floor in bathroom & kitchen(?), a pan with food remnants stuck on it and a chicken thigh bone we discovered in one of the kitchen drawers, laying on top of the oven mitts. Not the biggest issues until we notified Ligia. We requested a late checkout approximately halfway through our stay, as the day we were leaving we had a very late night flight. Ligia seemed to be receptive and offered to do this if we would give the property a 5 star rating/review and leave some cash, she asked what we thought about this. We responded that we didn't believe that the property was a 5 star (and it is not) but would consider writing a 4 star review (a generous review) and offered a little less cash and offered to leave the place cleaner than we found it. We explained in our response that we don't like making false statements and outlined the previously noted cleaning issues. We also went on and listed the many things we appreciated about the property. We didn't hear anything back for a couple of days when we received a message advising us that to not to bother leaving any cash, that there would be no late checkout. Ligia certainly was not very receptive of some objective critique and obviously not concerned with her tenant's comfort and enjoyment for our last day, makes it a little bit difficult not having a home base when your there for the whole day and not leaving until late at night. There are plenty of other rental condo units out there and some nice hotels too, we will not be back. Thanks

Really nice place clean neat organized well equiped AC was nice on a couple humid days. Nice secure screen door so you could let the wind blow thru in the evenings. Pool was clean and warm. We hope to return next year and stay here again. We walked to many shops, beaches and restaurants didn't drive our car a couple days. View over looks a surf shop and a beginners surf beach so theres plenty to watch when the surfs up mainly in the mornings. We had one neighbor but never heard them condo was pretty quiet and relaxing. Lower level is small shops and 2 good places to eat.
Ligia was awesome we got an early checkin and she gave lots of information about things to do, sent us an email to see how we were doing and had the place in awesome shape for us. We were very pleased. Thanks

Ligia was a wonderful hostess - she had the place ready for an early checkin without me even asking, and everything was very clean and enjoyable.
I liked the view and the vibe of the neighborhood. There are surf and bike shops just downstairs, and places to grab food and drinks within walking distance.

The condo was wonderful, with easy access to restaurants and bars. There is no downtown kihei, but this is next door to the closest thing to a downtown, the Triangle.
This was beachfront, directly across the road from a beautiful beach, with a great grass park as well. Volleyball courts, skatepark, bathrooms and outdoor showers...
I can't think of a better part of kihei to stay.
The condo itself is great, air conditioning and fans throughout, and well appointed with everything you need to cook. Beautiful patio with a couple chairs and a table, beach gear, with a great view of sunset. We felt our needs were well anticipated and the chilled wine, lei's, we so above and beyond. Incredible views of the cove. The perfect low key vacation spot for myself and girlfriend.

Had a wonderful time at the condo. Very comfortable setting and surroundings. Extremely walkable to fun places nearby and restaurants to eat.
The plantain shutter windows in the bedroom can be fairly noisy when the wind blows. We had a couple of days of 30-40 MPH winds from the East, and it whistled through at a noisy pace. Once those crazy winds died down, not an issue at all.
Lots of room, and space. Fully stocked kitchen with dishwasher and compact washer dryer.
Felt at home the entire time.
PS: Kihei Cafe (a block away) has the BEST breakfast in Maui. Cash only. And by 9:00AM the line out the door is LONG.
