Perfect condo for our Maui vacation! The view is beautiful & we watched many sunsets from the balcony. The condo is updated & very clean. No issues with the accommodations. We were close to food trucks, grocery store, restaurants, beaches & we were picked up for tours without issue. Location was perfect! Owners were very responsive prior to our visit & gave us many recommendations for things to do, places to go & restaurants to try. Lots of beach supplies in the condo including beach towels & we really appreciated the washer & dryer. Overall, great place to stay!!

Location and ocean views were great. Beautiful sunsets! Central location made it easy to get to and from the airport quickly, close to Maalaea harbor if you want to do a snorkel tour/sail ride, and a short drive down to Wailea if you want to enjoy the resort/tourist vibe.
Condo set-up worked great for our family of four. While we enjoy spending time together, it was great to have space to decompress. Kitchen set-up made it easy to prep meals and eat in, just don't be sticker shocked when you go to the grocery store to buy food. Definitely hit up Target/Costco when you arrive.
The trade winds did kick up quite a bit in the afternoon, which is typical for Maui, so definitely worth getting up earlier to snorkel, kayak, etc. in the morning when winds are calmer.

Our family of 4 (teens and parents) stayed comfortably in this condo for 9 days. The kitchen is large and well appointed and the bathrooms are small but updated but was nice to have two bathrooms and then a separate sink/mirror area for getting ready. The bedrooms were good and had enough storage and hanging space for all our things. You really don’t need a lot since there is a full washer/dryer and the condo is stocked with all the towels you need. But the highlight is the lanai balcony and the view. Large sliding glass doors offer a stunning view of the ocean and the West Maui Mountains. The grounds itself were a bit dated but we didn’t mind. Tennis/pickleball were steps away, as was the beach and pool. The beach/grass area seemed to be a bit of a dog haven and we thoroughly enjoyed watching the local dogs get their play date in the mornings while sipping coffee! The Maui Sunset is not in a tourist area so there is a mix of locals and vacationers (which we liked). The location is very good and provides easy access to just about everything. Parking was easy too. We all really had a great time and will definitely consider staying here again! Mahalo!

Perfect condo for our family of 5 (3 kids ages 11, 9 and 9). Condo is incredibly well organized and amply stocked with everything you could possibly need, both for enjoying the condo (laundry detergent, trash bags, dishes, utensils, spices, grilling tools, etc.) and enjoying the outdoors (beach towels and chairs, snorkel gear, water shoes, extra sunscreen, tennis rackets, etc.). Condo and grounds look exactly like pictures posted by owner. Laid back vibe at Maui Sunset with lots of families. No issue getting chairs at pool at any time. Only real negative is that the beach by the condo is quite rocky and not ideal for swimming/snorkeling, though using the water shoes helps a lot. One plus for the beach though is that after sunset we saw some turtles emerge and camp for the night on the beach a very short walk from the condo. Overall, we were quite happy with our stay

Great condo! Beautiful view, very well stocked with all things kitchen, pool/beach gear, supplies. Little things like plenty of trash bags, paper towel and high quality toilet paper really made it nice! Took a star off for not disclosing the very loud construction going on. I understand in condo complexes there’s likely always construction but when your kids are woken up by the loud jackhammer from inside their room I think that should have been disclosed and was disappointed paying the summer premium I did to stay there and hear that. Took a video of just how loud it really is and am happy to share with owners if they don’t realize how loud it really gets in there. I know notices are usually sent out to condo owners when construction near them begins and ends but there was no mention to us as renters. It was weekdays only starting at 7-7:30 am and lasted until about 4. So fyi if you’re staying soon something to consider as it looks like it’s not close to being completed.
If construction is completed when we come back we would definitely stay here again- so beautiful and great!!!

Loved how clean and immaculate everything was. I have to say they were very well organized and detail oriented everything was labeled and clear. There were the perfect amount of supplies for our stay, from beach towels to laundry pods, they stocked the place just the right amount. The grounds were very well kept. Pool was clean and very few people there. Beach is good for walking, but not great for wading. We could walk to the market and the flea market easily.

Love the Maui Sunset although older it is nicely maintained and in a great central location. Not real happy with the request to do your towels and linens before you leave!!! Cleaning fee should have covered that. We received 6 bath towels, 6 hand towels, and 4 wash clothes for five people for 9 days. With an early flight we were expected to once again do laundry. Would not rent from these owners again but will return to Maui Sunset

This property was perfect for our needs. We traveled in March, 2023. We are a family of five with three kids ages 9, 11, and 13. The owners were very responsive to our questions. The condo had everything we needed for an enjoyable vacation on Maui including beach chairs, boogie boards, travel coffee mugs, cooler, snorkeling gear, etc. It was very nice to have the two bedrooms and two baths. We also used the murphy bed in the living room, which was perfect. The condo was our home base for the many excursions we had planned that week. The condo has a beautiful view from the lanai. Was perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee or a cocktail. We would definitely recommend this condo to others traveling to Maui.

The condo is immaculate with so much to use to make a special trip. We have our own snorkel gear so we didn’t need any but there is plenty plus chairs and binoculars to see the whales, just many extras. Responsive owners, beautiful views. Short drive to beaches with swimming/snorkeling. The beach behind the building is small but beautiful for watching waves and incredible views of stars at night. Many dogs play in the grassy areas just behind the building which was fun since we are dog lovers (maybe from other properties? It’s a huge open area).

We LOVED this beautiful condo with unbeatable views and a beautiful relaxing vibe. The home had everything we needed for a great family vacation - the location with the huge grass lawn, cool pool, and long beach for walking was just perfect. We made good use of the snorkeling and beach gear, and having full-size laundry was super helpful. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching families enjoy themselves - private but with a nice community feel. We will be back!

The unit we stayed at has everything we needed! From the kitchen utensils to the bedrooms and bath, it feels like a second home. Every morning we woke up to a beautiful view of the sunrise from the master’s bedroom and in the evening, phenomenal view of the sunset whether it be from the lanai or watching from the seashore (which is steps out the door). We will be coming back for sure. The kids loved the pool and the hut tub as well. It’s just what my heart needed. Thank you to the hosts for maintaining this unit clean and updated.

This was an amazing stay! We had multiple generational family with ages ranging from 14 to 88. The condo was great, just like home away from home. There were many things that were very thoughtful and really made it seem like our home. There were ample comforts of home, beach items, kitchen cooking necessities down to the spices on the spice rack, coffee, you name it they had it! They went above the bare minimum to make your stay amazing. The location was perfect, evening walks along the beach at night would have 40 plus sea turtles every night! The locals said this is a great area to stay. There were lots of food options and a grocery store and drug store within 5 minutes. The sunsets were unbelievable every night! Would definitely return to this rental!!!

The unit: beautifully renovated and clean! Perfect location in the building. SOOO well equipped. Literally everything one could possibly need for preparing meals, water sports, picnics, beach days, etc.
The owners: responsive and thorough. Had tons of great advice about beaches/restaurants/things to do.
We had an amazing stay in this beautiful unit with our three kids. They all stayed in the double-twin room and we added an inflatable toddler bed (which just fit!) to avoid having to use the pull out couch or Murphy bed in the living room. The set-up worked great.

My family thoroughly enjoyed this condo! From the location, to the pool/hot tub and beach access, it fit our needs perfectly. The condo itself is beautifully updated and is rather large as far as condos go. We had plenty of room to spread out, and the lanai was wonderful!
The owners are fantastic and easy to work with, quick to respond to any questions. They were also more than accommodating, allowing my family to enter the unit early when my daughter wasn’t feeling her best. It was a nice, human touch which was deeply appreciated.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. Space was a bit cramped for the 6 of us, but made up for it by just generally being amazing in all other arenas. Condo had everything we could have wanted and more... complete with snorkels, boogie boards, beach chairs, tennis rackets... even grocery bags! I wish we could have stayed longer! The pull out murphy bed was so comfortable my teens fought over who got to sleep on it. Location couldn't have been better. Word to the wise... wear water shoes if you go in the ocean because there are lots of rocks and urchins. Beach area was very private and beautiful! I can't wait to come back.

Our fifth trip to Hawaii and first to Kihei, we loved this place. Beautifully and tastefully equipped, close to many restaurants and markets. We saw breaching whales from the lanai, and toasted a beautiful sunset every night. The only thing I would change - which no one can - is the rocky beach. Thankfully, the hosts have plenty of water shoes you can wear if you’re going into the water. We had a few minor glitches, but these were quickly resolved with the host.

Inside: The condo is beautifully decorated (we looked up a few of the artists because we like them so much!) and nicely stocked with all the kitchen items needed. We really appreciated having well stocked paper towels, toilet paper, dishwasher tabs, and laundry cleaners. I'll add that the vacuum and brooms helped us keep things tidy during our stay as well. The lanai is a great size and has two bins that have beach chairs, beach toys, scuba gear, umbrella, and boogie boards. The bedrooms have comfortable bed and A/C.
Outside: The pool is lovely and cleaned daily. There are shuffle boards available as well. The park, which is located in front of the property, has tennis courts and a huge lawn area, which is great for playing bocce ball. It's a fun, lively area that is closed at night so you aren't hearing people all night long. The beach is a short walk and perfect for setting out some chairs to relax and watch the sun set.
We enjoyed our stay and found the condo to be perfect for a relaxing vacation.

We have vacationed on Maui many times yet have never stayed in Kihei until this time. We love Lahaina and Kaanapali, but wanted to try something new. This location was PERFECT! It was close to everything but far enough away to not feel crowded. The sunsets from the deck were gorgeous or you could enjoy them from the beach which was just a few steps away across a well maintained lawn.
We spent time on the beach enjoying the soft sand and gentle waves. From about 11:30am until 2:00pm each day, when the winds picked up, we would shower off and enjoy the well maintained swim pool and jacuzzi.
The unit itself is beautiful and well maintained. The kitchen is large enough for four adults to cook and hang out in, and the bedrooms are large, cool and comfortable. Everything was clean and well arranged. The owners contacted us prior to our trip to see if we had any questions or wanted any suggestions. They were helpful and kind. We absolutely loved this unit and location and will definitely be back again.

We had a great experience at "our" condo (we wish). It was perfect for 4 adults, 1 teen & 1 pre-teen. We loved the location, away from all the traffic found in Lahaina ... but with plenty of good restaurants close by.
I can't remember what the pre-renovation pictures looked like, but the reno condo is just gorgeous. Plenty of dishes, utensils, appliances, etc. We lacked for nothing. And the sunsets, of course! Can't do any better view on the island.

The condo was amazing!!! Pictures do not do it justice. It was brand new and perfect inside!! Outside of condo is showing some age and we got kinda worried checking in but when we walked in our unit, WOW!!!! It was superb!! We had a blast touring everything on the island and our host was so helpful. They had beach chairs, snorking gear, everything we needed all week. Just bring a couple outfits and whatever food you want to cook. The kitchen was even stocked way more than any rental I have ever been in. The owner told us what to go see and do and I want to tell everyone to buy the GyPSy Guide on your phone for a personal tour guide while driving around. We had the best week!!! We had a great time here! The condo and location was great, but we also had a vehicle to get around in. It was a little busier than we expected, lots if kids in the pool. The sunset was beautiful every evening, both from the shore and the Lanai. The condo came equipped with everything we needed, from beach chairs to binoculars! The wind made it hard to bbq, so we ended up cooking our burgers inside. There’s a public parking lot/bathroom that shares the same beach area, so it got a little busy on the beach - mostly in the evening. The owners were very easy to communicate with and allowed for a late check-out, which was much appreciated!

The views from the lanai is spectacular. There is a beautifully maintained lawn and pool area that parents will love to let the kids run and play. The beach.is okay in this area but you can walk to the fish ponds and usually see the sea turtles on the rocks. We walked there everyday in the morning and always saw turtles.
The condo was very clean with plenty of supplies for snorkeling, boogie boarding and tennis racquets. The furniture in the living room could be upgraded as it is showing some wear...a minor detail. Beds were comfortable. The A/C units (3) in the condo were adequate but noisy at times. Looks like the complex has the same A/C units in every condo. Some little things...the remote batteries for tv and fans need replacing or should be checked more frequently.
We would rent this condo again and watch the sunsets from the lanai...fabulous!

The property, condo, and location exceeded all of our expectations. It truly is a 'multi-million dollar view' and location!!
The condo itself was absolutely perfect for our family of four. The provision of beach toys, chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, boogie boards, snorkel gear, etc. was great! We were able to take whatever we needed to our many beach excursions. Inside the condo it was fully equipped with all the things we needed to 'live' there - paper goods, coolers, matches, all the dishes, utensils, pots/pans (of course), soap, washer/dryer, paper towels, etc...wow! As advertised, all we needed to do was show up.
The owners (Stobie's) definitely take the time and effort to make the condo-vacation experience relaxing and worry-free.
We couldn't have asked for a better condo, location, and experience for our 20th anniversary and the first Hawaii trip for our two kids!

We couldn't of asked for more in a vacation rental. The owners quickly responded to all of our questions and the booking process was completely painless. As for the condo itself, it was immaculate and very well maintained. The view from the lanai is incredible (the sunsets really look like the picture) and we spent many mornings and evenings just drinking coffee and "people watching". The complex itself is impeccably maintained and we loved the six gas grills that are available for general use. I was initially skeptical of community grills but they are beautiful Webers and were cleaner than my own grill at home. This worked out great since we had fish to grill all week from a charter trip. Additionally, we loved the location in Kihei. It has much more of a laid back feel to it and it's close to many of the best beaches to snorkel at. I can't think of one problem that we encountered during our trip. We'll definitely book this property again if we have the opportunity to return.

This is a beautiful condo that can't be missed! The view is incredible and in fact much more spectacular than the photos are able to capture. The condo has tons of space to spread out, the beds are very comfortable, everything is clean and well maintained, and the kitchen is well equipped. We loved using the boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, snorkelling equipment, and buckets and spades for our beach excursions. As well, Maui Sunset has a lovely pool and hottub, tennis and shuffleboard, all of which we enjoyed when we weren't out exploring the island. I rented this condo for my son and his family for a family reunion week we were enjoying at Maui Sunset.
The condo was perfect in every way. It was beautifully appointed, well equipped and enjoys the most beautiful views of the ocean and the West Maui Mountains.
The condo provides everything one could possibly need for a dream vacation. My son was thrilled.
In addition, child friendly Maui Sunset, provided the best possible setting for our family. The grounds are impeccable, the pool and hot tub well cared for and the walk down to the beach, an easy stroll.
I will say that all condos at Maui Sunset are not equal, but this one is a winner. I do not hesitate to give my highest recommendation to Paul and Joan's condo. I am sure you will love it as much as we did!

Do not plan on staying anywhere else on Maui! The owners have made this your home away from home. They have provided almost everything you could possibly need to be comfortable. Read the previous reviews to get more details. Pictures of the unit and descriptions are accurate. Most units in the complex are 1 bedroom units so this is a special property!
I never like beds away from home but I liked these beds! I never like hotel pillows, but I liked these pillows! The rooms were spotless when we arrived. But you didn't feel like you couldn't put your feet up and relax. We enjoyed coffee and breakfast every morning on the lanai. We often made dinner at night which allowed us to afford lunch out each day. They even had a crockpot so we could cook while we went sightseeing! Because you don't want to miss the sunsets from the lanai each night, with a drink in your hand. I loved that this fourth floor unit faced the water in such a way that we never got the heat of direct sun onto the lanai like the units across the way in Building A.
Be sure to use the shopping carts found on the first level in the middle stairwells to bring your groceries upstairs. Two grocery stores and a pharmacy within 1 mile of the condo. Easy access to the parking lot and elevator.
You will not be disappointed!

Family of 4 visited Maui for the first time. The condo was as described. Clean and with all the amenities listed. The view was great both in the morning and evening. Evening sunset at this time of year is a little blocked but still provided great enjoyment. The location was a great central point for all the activities we did - Kapalua, catamaran to Lanai, Haleakala for sunrise, Road to Hana, helicopter ride, Wailea for luau and other beaches. While we moved around a lot it would have been perfect to stay put and cook meals (full kitchen/utensils) and utilizes the grounds more (pool/grills/water activities).

I did a lot of research and must have looked at hundreds of options -- Paul and Joan's condo ticked the most boxes -- and it ended up being simply perfect. Maui Sunset itself is a wonderful complex -- and as mentioned, very well maintained. Its central location fit the bill as it was an easy drive from the airport and to all points around the island, including South Maui, Lahaina, Road to Hana, etc. It was the perfect home base. The condo itself was exactly what we wanted and were looking for. The start to the end to a perfect rental is the owners -- and Joan and Paul are the definition of great owners. From quick responses during the rental inquiry process to instructions before we got there and plenty of information found in the drawers by the sound system -- they were wonderful. They take great pride in their property and it shows. Thank you so very much for sharing your little piece of heaven with us for a week -- it was a pleasure calling your condo our temporary address!

Paul & Joan's condo provided outstanding accommodation for our dream vacation! Everything in the overview is 100% accurate and we were amazed at how well equipped every room was, along with the ease of having all the "toys" we could hope to need on beach days. The view is breathtaking, the grounds of Maui Sunset are stunning, and the condo itself is roomy, comfortable, tasteful and perfect. The concierge (I guess that's what you'd call her) at the pool each day was always available to help book tours and activities, had great recommendations for local dining. At first we were leary of the beach by the condo--appeared to have a significant drop off a few steps into the water. No worries--it's a little bit of a "hump" of pebbles washed up and a slight step down to soft sand and water no more than waist deep for yards and yards out.
Kihei is the best -- not too far from Lahaina, a pretty drive, and much more laid back and relaxing. The "Craft Fair" sort of a flea market of Hawaiian souvenirs is within walking distance of Maui Sunset and we had a great time "shopping" there--many items half the price of the same thing on Front Street in Lahaina!
Convenient, comfortable and a perfect landing point for us! Our friends had another Maui Sunset condo and spent much of their time at ours -- bigger lanai, better view!
Joan was especially easy to work with arranging dates, administrating the payment and lease, etc. By far the best value for the money--2 Bedrooms/ 2 full Bathrooms / fully (I can't stress that enough--FULLY) stocked kitchen, washer/dryer....no resort can come close.
Thanks Paul & Joan for an amazing place to call home for 8 days in Paradise!! We will be back!

As promoted, this was hands down the most excellent accommodation. We wanted ocean front and loved the view from our spacious comfortable lanai, catching a few sunsets and kite surfers during our stay. The location was perfect, as it allowed us easy access to our daily destinations, whether in Kapalua or Wailea. Accommodation and amenities were ideal, grounds were immaculate, and the barbecue area conversation scintillating. Everyone was provided for allowing us to relax and enjoy our vacation. We would definitely recommend this property to family or friends and would come back again!

We travel all the time. We have been to Hawaii twice before. This place was truly amazing. There was everything you can think of. We especially appreciated all the beach stuff, you do not have to bring anything, it's all there for you to use, the entire closet is full. Very clean and well taken care of. Paul & Joan were fantastic to work with, fast responding and very helpful. Perfect location, not far from the airport, restaurants and shopping. This place has great amenities including vegetable/herbal garden for guests. We especially enjoyed walking on the lawn, best grass ever! Sunsets on the balcony were amazing every night and so were early mornings. I will recommend this place to all my friends who will travel to Maui in the future. When I go back to Maui (and I will) I will definitely stay there again!!!

My family and I had the pleasure of staying at Paul and Joan's home in October 2012. It was absolutely perfect. As soon as we walked through the front door, we knew it would be a memorable trip -- and it was. Paul and Joan's home is generously furnished with every amenity one could ask for. The kitchen is fully furnished. The bedrooms lovely. Washer, dryer, air conditioning, seaside toys for children, snorkling gear, tennis rackets, CD player, DVD's, books, BBQ, etc. To top it off, the oceanfront view is breath-taking, every morning and every night. The overall grounds at Maui Sunset are emaculate -- lush greens, well manicured, and even a gorgeous swimming pool,and only a few steps away from the beautiful sand and ocean. I would highly recommend this property to anyone seeking the perfect vacation. Without hesitation, we will return at the next available opportunity.

This condo had everything you could ask for and more. Every type of kitchen utensil, gadget, bowl, pots pans etc. Snorkeling gear...many sets, boogie boards, played tennis with my sons for the first time using the rackets from the condo, kids beach toys, a stroller !!. Close to shops, grocery stores and restaurants. Comfortable beds, fantastic towels and then the views. Sunsets from the lanai are perfect. The grounds at the complex are maintained like no other. The photos don't do it justice, you have to see it for yourself. Fantastic experience, hope to do it again in the future. I would recommend this for couples, parents with teenagers (we had 3 kids) and parents with small children.

This condo is just as listed-exceptional view, very clean,fully furnished, and featured high-end linens and mattresses. Grounds are beautifully maintained, pool and hot tub are convenient and clean, and grills are great for preparing meals "at home". Location in middle of Kihei makes all of south Maui very convenient, and there is a wide selection of beaches to enjoy as well. A "definite return" location.

I picked out this condo to rent for my husband and my trip to Maui June 10 - 17th of this year. I wanted a condo that had a wonderful ocean view, easy beach access and a nice pool. The photos looked great that I saw on this website and the owner had great feedback so we contact him and booked the week long stay. I cannot tell you how fantastic this place is! It is litterally as nice as the photos make it appear. This is a great, small complex in a great location in the Kihei area. The complex has easy parking on-site, a very friendly front-desk staff, an on-site Activities desk to book tours through and a wonderful pool and hot tub. In addition the complex has gas grills you can use in the garden area which we did one night which was great. Now onto the condo itself. The owners take pride in their place and it shows. The 2 bedroom/2 bathroom unit is very spacious and has every single thing you could think you may need. There are all of your basic ammentities but then there are also a set of 6 beach towels, many snorkel gear sets, guide books, blender in the kitchen (one of many gadgets), boogie boards, noodles, etc. for swimming fun. There is even a set of bionoculars that I used to watch my husband kitesurf! In addition it is in impecible condition and super clean upon arrival. Within one week of returning to the US the owner mailed us back our deposit with a nice thank you note. Overall the reviews were spot on and this is a great place to stay and what makes it even better is that you are working with an owner who cares about his condo and wants to make this an easy booking/paying/returning deposit transaction. My husband and I are already looking at our calendars to return next summer! Don't hesitate - stay here - you will have a wonderful vacation!

We highly recommend renting this condo for your next stay in Kehei. It is better than described. The condo is fully equipped and it VERY clean. The condo is tastefully decorated with quality furniture. Everything looks new. The towels and linens are what you would expect at a nice hotel. There is even binoculars to watch the whales! The lanai is large and perfect for eating a meal or having a cocktail while you watch the sunset. The view is incredible! My family has been to Maui over a dozen times and this is truly one of the best maintained condos we have rented from a private owner.
