We got a two bedroom, two and a half bath, full kitchen, living room, and two balconies with great views. Parking was ample and private. The room was tastefully decorated and adequately furnished. The condo unit was as pictured,actually probably one of the first condos I've rented that was almost better than pictured. Fresh paint and carpets and rugs were nice as it was a concern from previous reviews. When we walked in the first day there was a stong smell of bug spray. Definitely still a termite issue in the kitchen that prevented us from using some of the drawers during our stay. We did not want to have it sprayed again during our stay though. It was very strong. Understandably need to keep food in sealed containers to deter the pest problem but the kitchen was very low on bowls, pans etc. Would be nice to have more large tuperware available. We made due by keeping dry goods in the fridge, microwave and oven when not in use. That was our main issue though. The property is lovely with the heated pool, grassy area and small beach where we snorkled with turtles and fish. Was nice to be able to park directly outside the condo unit as opposed to having to haul everything to a parking lot. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again hopefully the termites can get under control as it is a nice new kitchen!

Pros first - the neighborhood is nice and the beach/pool area is lovely. Lots of lounge chairs out so you can enjoy the sunsets etc. The kitchen in the unit looks like it was nicely updated not too long ago and had everything you would need for cooking/eating in. They provided beach towels, a couple of beach chairs and some snorkel gear! Air conditioning units in each area worked well. The communication about booking and entry info was great.
A couple of cons - carpets need to be cleaned or replaced as they were pretty dirty and made the condo smell very musty. I think there might be a termite issue in the kitchen (obviously not owners fault but should be addressed before renting again) - cleaned up debris on the counter and it reappeared several times a day.

This property is nestled in a mostly residential area away from the hustle and bustle of the major resorts. As a family, we were more interested in seeing the island and spending our money on excursions rather than spending all of our money and time glued to a resort.
Kahana Sunset E6 was a comfortable unit overall. It could use some love and updating but met our needs.
The photos here fairly represent the property and the unit.
We used the BBQs many nights for dinner they were definitely a nice convenience.
The Napili market is a 2min drive or a 7 min walk for groceries.
It was disappointing that the common area closest to the waters edge (covered) was closed off due to ongoing maintenance. Apparently it will not reopen any time soon.
Overall this is a family friendly property and fairly laid back. The water was incredible and even the resident sea turtle popped its head up from time to time to say hello.

Lovely 2 bedroom condo just steps from a little beach! The condo is well appointed. It has everything we needed for the week. We could see turtles in the bay and whales in the channel. The condos location was great as it was close to all our favorite beaches. The grounds and pool were well kept. The host was great.

We’ve stayed at Kahana Sunset before and just love the views and all that the property has to offer. Staying in January meant that whale sightings were a daily occurrence right off the patios and the resident turtle will show up each night for sleep as well, which was incredible. The unit had everything you could need and it was great to have a half bath on the first floor. Beds were comfortable and so was the living room couch. Would recommend this unit!

This was our third time staying at Kahana Sunset but our first time in this unit. For a family of 5 it is great to have a little space, laundry and a kitchen available. It is close to everything yet you feel so removed. We had some storms so we were not able to use the beach for most of the trip. The unit was stocked with everything that we needed. This is our second time losing power (December storms). Flashlights would be nice to have stored somewhere. We called the management company and they basically said we were out of luck. Because of the storms we were stuck indoors more that we would have liked. It would be nice if there was a table (coffee or dining). We had to sit on the floor since you can only use the bar area or deck to eat and play games. My only other issue with this unit was the air conditioners are great but they are on timers. So if it is warm you will have to wake in the night and turn them back on. We had issues with the master AC unit blowing luke warm air. We called and it was re-set but started to blow warm again when we left. I let management know so hopefully it was looked into. All in all we love this complex.

This is a really nice rental condo, perfect for family trip to explore Maui. The condo is neat and clean, and well stored with all the supplies, appliances we need for our stay. The beds are very comfortable too. Beach chairs and snorkeling gear are also provided, which is very thoughtful. The step away private beach are awesome. Host Mike is very nice of taking care of our needs. We will sure come back and recommend to friends.

The big disappointment with this property was there was no beach to use snd swim snorkel at, as described, which was one of the major reasons for choosing this property. High seas and wind have eliminated the beach front area as far as use but it was very scenic with the high surf.

The condo was fantastic for our needs in Maui. The location is great, with the private beach for the kids and easy access to Lahaina. The condo is well furnished and everything worked great...the A/C was so great to cool down. A couple green sea turtles kept the snorkeling in the bay exciting, although there is limited coral to explore, so daily ventures out to other areas was needed for more color...but that was our plan in Maui anyway. Mike was very responsive and easy to work with. If I find myself back in Maui, Mike's place will definitely be top of our list for a return visit.

This was a great family vacation spot. 2 bedrooms provided plenty of room for my family (2 teens). Remodeled kitchen was nice. AC was a welcome addition during our July visit. The grounds were well taken care of. We utilized the gas grills near the beach. The beach was perfect. Not too busy. Rocks for snorkeling.
It is a quiet complex, away from the hustle and bustle of Kaanapali and Lahaina. Napili market minutes away was convenient.

Our first trip to Maui, and we found Eve absolutely perfect place to stay! We were at Kahuna Sunset for 9 days, and quickly fell into vacation mode. The location is ideal, with a protected reef and a secluded beach, seemingly used only by residents and guests. Just a few blocks north were wonderful snorkel beaches with many tourists (Napili Bay and Kapalua Bay) and even a jump rock. A nice grocery store and coffee shop was nearby, as was a wonderful, personable sushi restaurant called playfully Miso Phat. Every evening, I sat in the lounge chairs by the seawall to read and have a beer. I met a family that had been coming to the same resort for 40 years! There was a lawn for throwing a football to the young'uns, a clean and quiet swimming pool, several grilling stations, many chairs and tables under a covered porch. On Friday night, guests sat around the seawall and on the beach to watch the sunset behind Molokai. In the morning, I would look at the sky full of stars with my coffee on the lower balcony and watch the morning break. The house was laid out great for my family, with a comfortable king bed and private bathroom and a stairwell separating the teenagers room. A couple of nights, a kid used the sleeper sofa. The king bed was so very comfortable! The kitchen was well-stocked and lovely. We celebrated both an anniversary and a kids 15th birthday party there.
Having the snorkel gear and beach chair there was an awesome bonus. The staff at Property mgmt. was professional and kind. The grounds were clean, trim, and lovely. The views from this unit are breath-taking! We were only 10 mins to Lahaina's Whalers Village, for shopping, dining, excursions, or just milling about. I'm actually craving a shaved ice right now remembering one evening out there!! Mike was a wonderful host, answering some questions I had before the trip and making great recommendations for our fun. I highly recommend e-6 Kahuna Sunset!!

We stayed here at the end of our vacation and absolutely loved the location and space! Beautiful sunsets and greeted by honu on the beach in the morning and evening. Grounds are beautifully landscaped and the pool area is situated nicely no matter where your unit is located. We were a group of adults and enjoyed the property. Everything was very clean when we arrived. The layout is good—there are stairs up to the bedrooms so if you have trouble with stairs this might not be right for you. Management company was responsive, and the minor issues we experienced (door code lock battery and smoke detector battery) were corrected in well under 24 hours. We did not cook anything except toast and coffee in the unit, but did note that it had all the supplies you would need for meal prep. Really nice swimming beach out front, which is a huge bonus, and the pool is great. Lots of whale sightings from both lanais (month of March) and a lovely view of Moloka’i. Good water pressure in the showers , an ice maker, and comfy beds (that’s the important stuff, right?). Somewhat limited ventilation in the back bedroom but fans are provided—we were comfortable, and only rarely used the AC. Overall, we rented it because we didn’t want to have to go somewhere for ocean time, or sunset time, or whale watching time, and this fit the bill perfectly. I would recommend this unit to just about anyone.

We got home at 2 AM this morning and I am seriously considering booking again for next year! Despite all the testing and delays around travelling during a pandemic, it was totally worth it.
The location is fantastic. In eight days we never drove further than 15 minutes (Lahaina). There is a lot to see and do in Lahaina and Kaanapali, from historical walks to beach days and snorkelling. Fabulous restaurants everywhere. Great little mall nearby for groceries and coffee shop. The weather was perfect. Sunny every day with two rain showers that lasted a couple of minutes.
The bay in front of the condo complex was a great place to see turtles and swim and play in the surf. (Check out Maui Snorkel Report for water safety conditions.) The pool is good, there is lots of green space and good barbecues. We spent a lot of time on our lanai looking at the view and watching whales. We ate all our at-home meals on the lanai.
The condo is well-designed and spacious. Great for two middle aged couples, although we think it would be great place to bring our new grandchild as well. Although it was built 50 years ago, the kitchen and bathrooms are updated and the furniture is comfortable and attractive. It's great to have a washer and dryer in the unit. Unfortunately, the second bedroom can get a little too warm. And we did have a few bugs in the kitchen, but the property manager sprayed right away.
We had originally booked a few miles down the coast at a luxury condominium with two ocean view bedrooms and 180 degree views, but postponed our trip and all agreed that this place was far better. It's not fancy, it's just perfect.

The grounds were well maintained which included nice lawn areas with lounge chairs, beautiful gardens, bbq areas, beach, and the pool. There was even a herb garden and fruit trees available to use and the grounds crew cut down fresh coconuts for us. When we weren't on the beach swimming with turtles our grandkids had us at the pool. It was a great set-up for the whole family. We will return.

I would give an honest review of 4.5+ stars for the condo. It was very clean, well laid out and the grounds were beautiful. Kitchen had everything we needed and the views at sunset from the upstairs lanai are beautiful. Bathrooms are dated but again very clean. There is no hot tub but the shallow pool is somewhere around 85+ deg and probably warmer on sunny days. Kids loved playing in the pools and down on the beach. Grills were clean and there were enough that you were not waiting. All in all we would stay here again.

This condo was perfectly located for exploring all of north side of Maui. The beach here is so close and sandy. We loved the beach chairs that were stacked right beside the beach. You took one used it then returned to the stack. Very relaxing looking out at Molokai. We took walks into Kapalua everyday and this was spectacular. We enjoyed havin two complete bathrooms upstairs and a half bath in the downstairs. We could set up camp here anytime.

Kahana Sunset -- and this unit in particular -- was just perfect for us. The beach there remained a favorite, even after explorations. We watched the sea turtles at night, which my daughter is still talking about. The condo was incredibly comfortable and really was ideal for two families each with a toddler -- quiet spaces for nap time, and the lenai for safe inside/outside play -- these details really made it easy for us to relax. What a great place you have! I know we hope to visit again.

Kahana Sunset E-6 is the best vacation spot for a family on Maui! The location is perfect for being away from the busy tourist spots yet close to everything you want to see and do. It is easy to get to and offers a market, restaurants, horseback riding, hiking and zipline adventures near by. The beach and pool are wonderful and you are able to snorkel in the amazing cove right off the condo or relax by the pool and enjoy the view of the ocean at the same time. The condo is decorated in beautiful tropical accents, with a state-of -the-art kitchen and all the amenities you will need. The views from the lani's look out over the ocean and we could see whales breaching as we relaxing on our own patios.
I would recommend this spot to everyone and I have! We are definitely going back again.

My brother, sis-in-law, boyfriend and myself (all in our early to mid 30s) stayed at E-6 for 4 days/3 nights. After a nightmarish debacle with our travel website canceling our flight, we breathed a sigh of relief once we entered the condo. The pictures do not do the property justice; it was a heavenly place to settle down for the next few days! The renovations were great and made the place feel homely and comfortable without breaking our budget and/or dealing with a hotel. While we were extremely busy with all our activities and didn't spend a lot of time in the condo, it was a great sense of comfort knowing that we would be returning to a quiet and safe community and sleeping in comfort every night. All the amenities of the condo and property were wonderfully maintained. I especially loved the fact that the property had it's own secluded beach! One of the highlights of our stay was being able to see whales from the lanais - absolutely priceless!
All in all, I would highly recommend this listing to friends and family as well as returning ourselves for our next stay in Maui. Mike was super easy to work with, speedy in all the correspondences and answered all questions quickly and clearly.

We rented this property directly from the owner, Mike, and found him to be very helpful and respond quickly to all enquiries. The unit was all that we had hoped, newly renovated and very clean at our checkin. The views from both lanais, particularly the upstairs, were breathtaking and at this time of year perfect for whalewatching. The beach was private and perfect for families, as well as the pool and hot tub. Located close by are markets, and restaurants. We didn't eat out often, preferring to stay at the condo and make use of the bbq's that are on the property, but there are many restaurants to choose from nearby. We'll Be Back!

This was our second stay at this unit. We loved it the first time in Jan 2012. They have since remodeled the unit and it is amazing. Love the addition of the downstairs bathroom. The kitchen is beautiful (maybe nicer than ours at home, lol) Granite countertops and beautiful new appliances. Upstairs bedrooms each have there own beautifully remodeled bathrooms. The unit has everything you need for the beach, mats, frisbee, cooler, boogie boards, etc. The private beach rivals most beaches in Maui. So if you have been all over the island thru the years like we have you can be very content to stay on your own private beach and swim and snorkle with the resident turtles. We love this place!

We just concluded our family winter vacation to Maui. Our first trip with our 6.5 and 15 month daughters. Everything you would expect to find in a great rental unit was at our fingertips. We had an amazing 8 day stay and think we have found another place for our girls to share experiences as sisters. As an added bonus we were able to snorkle with the turtles without ever leaving our home in Kahana.

Unit E6 was everything we hoped for with a few extras as well. Our family of four (two adults, two teenagers) found the living and bedrooms spacious and comfortable and the breezes blowing in off of the ocean through patio doors and various vented windows kept the temperature just right. The unit has lots of light and was very clean. The three bathrooms and separate vanities eliminated any frustration over waiting for a space. The remodeled kitchen is beautiful with a great view of the ocean and had everything we needed. We took advantage of the small cooler and picnic wear provided to take our lunches and snacks with us when we went to the beach or on road trips. We also made use of the folding beach chairs, beach towels, boogie boards, games, novels, videos and guide books in the unit. The E building was quiet during our stay and it faces the ocean instead of the courtyard and pool so the lanais are more private than some of the other units. There is some noise in the back bedroom in the morning as the office and cleaning supply unit are across the parking lot but our kids mostly slept through it. The owner, Mike, answered all of our questions on the phone and responded quickly to our emails. Kahana is about a 45 minute drive from the airport area and although we drove around the island a fair bit (up to Haleakala, to Hana, to La Parous Bay and through the UpCountry!) we liked being out of the way a bit and there were several days that we spent close to home. We enjoyed snorkelling at Honolua Bay, Mile 14 and the Old Airport beach and we checked out the Nakalele blowhole and Olivine pools. We particulary enjoyed snorkelling with just our family and biologists Mel and CT of the Ocean Project who taught us all about marine life, snorkelling and underwater photography. We'd also recommend the China Boat restaurant just down the road, breakfast from the Gazebo restaurant at Napili (walk in and order take out instead of standing in line for 45 minutes and then eat it on your lanai), Ululani Shave Ice and the Maui Coffee Company in Lahaina (behind the Shell off the highway). The Napili Market just around the corner from the unit is great for groceries. If you continue past the Market and cross the highway, there is a great little farmers market on Wednesday mornings. We would highly recommend this unit and, when we (hopefully!) return to Maui, there is no place that we would rather stay.

My family and I just spent a week at Kahana Sunset and it was a very enjoyable experience. The first thing we noticed when arriving was how peaceful the community was. The unti we stayed in was near the top of the property near the office so checkin was quick and parking was easy. The unit itself is a middle unit and apparently is above another condo so I was constantly trying to keep my kids from running around the place as to not bother the neighbors since the place seemed so quiet. It was so quiet in fact that we were able to keep all the windows open in all the rooms all night and sleep peacefully. My kids are not the heaviest sleepers and their bedroom overlooked the parking lot but there were no disturbances the entire time there. We enjoyed the "at home" ammenities like a washer / dryer and full kitchen even down to spices in the cabinets. I'm a technology geek and having high speed Internet and a LCD TV in the living room was icing on the cake. We did not spend much time on the TV but a movie or two per week looked good on the nice TVs. The master bedroom has a very comfortable bed (I'm 6'4") and my wife and I slept soundly. My two daughters enjoyed sleeping in a shared "same bed" for the first night but quickly wanted to split the beds apart into two singles. That worked well along with the fact that they had their own full bathroom so there was no need to come into my room to bother me. Overall the place was very well maintained, albeit a little on the weathered side but then again none of the places were brand new. The community has been around for some time but did not look that old but occasionally not having a Ritz Carlton sized shower does remind you that you are in a condo. So, we will definitely be revisiting this places again considering the fact that it was not overcrowded, had a private beach, and was very reasonably priced. The owner is very pleasant to deal with and had answers to all my various questions prior to my arrival. A real "gem" of a place to stay...

We loved our stay here so much we went back to the same place. We feel fortunate to have found the perfect place to stay in Maui at a VERY reasonable cost. My husband and I traveled with our friends, another couple but we will be back next time with the two teenagers. The beach is superb, the unit is VERY clean and comfortable. Also, very close to shopping and dining ... and the brewpub of course ;-)
Sea turtles abound at this beach -- we knew that from last year but this time we were treated to a monk seal sighting. We were in the water only a few feet away from it. Absolutely amazing!

Another couple and us enjoyed our stay, the condo met all our needs good location with a nice beach. The 2 bedrooms 2 bath was seperate and private. You could park right at the door with covered and shaded parking. It had nice decks which we watched whales and turtles in the morning while drinking coffee bring some binoculars. Mike was great to work with and the local staff was helpful and friendly. We made friends with a few of the birds on the deck as welI, we will be back. Thanks Mike

We just returned from a stay at this unit and I just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our stay there. There is nothing like waking up every morning to a beautiful sunrise and a breathtaking view of the ocean outside your bedroom window. We spent a lot of time out on the large lanais every day to take in the view and whale watch at the beginning and end of each day. Our little ones really enjoyed spending time at the nearby beach and kiddie pool, and the condo was already equipped with a portable crib and high chair for our 10-month-old, as well as pool and indoor toys for both our kids - a few less things that we had to worry about for our vacation.
The condo was really a home away from home for us and we plan on returning here again instead of the hotels in the area - you really can't beat the amenities and the price. Mike, the owner, is also really easy to work with. All in all, a wonderful experience - thank you!

My family and I spent a week in this 2 bedroom condo and just loved it. The condo itself is very well laid out with 2 full bathrooms and 2 giant decks overlooking the ocean. Our favorite part was the private sandy beach and reef just full of sea turtles, I even got some pictures of humpback whales doing tricks right from the deck. The owner has provided all the kitchen gadgets needed to avoid having to eat out every night, as well as some beach gear and lots of towels. It was also very handy to be able to park our rental car right outside the door to the condo.

The place was great. Most of our group stayed in Kaanapali, but they spent a lot of the time at this condo. Enjoying the private beach, snorkeling, paddle boarding, and swimming. There were turtles everyday for the snorkelers, some even swam up to the shore line, nice calm water for the swimmers, and a great beach and pool for the kids. I highly recommend for the convenience, location, and amenities.

My husband and I decided to take an adult only vacation and decided to stay at Kahana Sunset Unit E-6. After arriving, we quickly realized that this is the perfect family vacation getaway! Not only is the condo set up for families, the private beach is calm and smooth so there would be no worries for the children. As it was an adult only vacation, we comfortably shared the condo with another couple. Having the privacy of our own bathroom and a kitchen at our will made for a comfortable stay. The location is perfect as we were able to be very active and not leave this part of the island. Within minutes of the condo you can hike, swim, snorkel, body surf, and eat at any number of delicious restaurants. The nights were fabulous! The nightly star gazing from our private balcony was magnificent! These are just a few amenities and activities that we enjoyed. I highly recommend this condo!

My husband and I and our friends spent a week here in May and were very happy with the location and, especially the fact that the beautiful beach in front of the property is perfect for sunning, snorkeling and swimming. I particularly liked that the cove is somewhat sheltered from the strong afternoon winds that on many beaches -- like to the north (DT Fleming) and south (Kaanapali) -- can make you feel like you are being sand-blasted!
Proximity to the best West Maui has to offer is fantastic! Less than one mile from Maui's only brewery -- Maui Brewing Co. brewpub is bonus. With great craft brews, great food and a kid friendly menu, it's definitely a place you won't want to miss. This location is also really close to Ironwood Stables where anyone can enjoy a beautiful and peacful horseback ride with excellent tourguides. Napili Market is very close by and you can stock up with food supplies easily. Also, it's only about 5 miles north of Lahainatown and just a bit south of Kapalua.
In the unit there is plenty of room for all. Everything was clean and ready for our use. A full kitchen and a washer/dryer in the unit makes it a great family place. We will be back with the kids!

What a great family vacation we had here at Kahana Sunset E-6! The complex is off the beaten path so it is very quiet and relaxing. However, you can still get to a lot of places within a quick walk or drive. We loved the beach - so beautiful and the turtles and black crabs along the rocks are fun to watch. The beach is incredible along with the nightly sunsets. Our family enjoyed cooking in most nights on the BBQ and my kids loved the pool and all of the toys available at the condo and complex. The condo also provided many ammenities to those with young kids which lessened my luggage! We would highly recommend this unit and look forward to a repeat trip soon!

Our family had a great time at the Kahana Sunset condo Unit E-6 last summer. We all loved the white sand beach. The waves were very gentle and the snorkeling was excellent. It was the first time any of us had seen sea turtles. We saw sea turtles every day during our stay. We all enjoyed the pool. The condo complex is family friendly and our daughter often found other kids to play with when we were at the beach or the pool. For dinner, we often bought a nice piece of fish and cooked it on one of several BBQ’s around the property. The condo is tastefully decorated and the kitchen was well equipped for all our needs. It was great to have a washer and dryer in the unit. Views from both the upstairs and main floor lanai were beautiful. We had breakfast out on the main floor lanai. At night from the master bedroom we saw the moon reflected on the ocean. Our last trip was so much fun, we’re going back again this summer.

If you are going to Hawaii this is the place for you! The pictures do not do it justice. It was a great place to stay and the private beach was a hugh plus. Being able to watch the sea turtles was extremely cool. The property was very well maintained and everyone there is extremely nice. There is a store just up the road so anything you need is close by. Within a couple of miles there is Italian, Maui Brew Co, Maui Tacos and a Steak house. We already have plans to go back. The Lahaina night life is close by. Kids will have a great time snorkeling. There is a pool and BBQ pits for you to use.
