Loved the accommodations. James and Byron were fantastic getting us checked in, and communication was great. The space was perfect for our family of four. Plenty of space for everyone. Kitchen was well stocked. The only thing we wished for was a pitcher to mix sangria. Plenty of hot water for showers, a/c ran cold AND quietly, and the beach chairs and beach towels were a great plus. The views were great, and the location was perfect! So close to everything! Will definitely stay here again!

Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay. The unit is as-advertised. It has a great view of the skyline and the ocean, is very spacious, and is in a great location near the core shopping district and the beach. The unit is well-appointed and we appreciated the beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. Our only complaint was the noise. We were prepared for this as it was mentioned in other reviews. The club below (Cuckoo Coconuts) is very loud, but fortunately the band stops playing at 10PM sharp. There is also a lot of city noise, particularly the garbage collection below VERY early in the morning, but I'm sure this is common with many locations around the city. Overall, we would stay there again and definitely enjoyed our time.

Parents can enjoy king size bed, bathroom and a separate entrance. Teen age boys can flop on Murphy bed and pull out couch in main room with dinner room, kitchen and bathroom.The separate entrance lets the teens have some freedom.
Yes it’s noisy In Waikiki at times, but let’s focus on the beautiful sunset and the good things, like the washer and dryer set location in the kitchen and the fact that this unit is spacious.
Not ideal for 2 couples because the other beds are ok and in the common area, the king size bed was fantastic.

Great place. Penthouse location, facing sunset each evening, space for the four of us to stretch out and enjoy the views, weather and time together.
The space was as advertised. We used the kitchen for three meals and found it was lacking dish towels and hot pads. We let the company know and the next day when we returned from our adventures...dish towels and hot pads were waiting at our door.
Great service and location. We will rent from Captain Cook again.

I have stayed in this building many times. This unit was very large. Lots of room! The diamonds were the washer and dryer in unit and the free parking!! Huge savings. The room is well decorated and has basics with several amenities. The only thing I would ask for is a cooler for the beach! The beach chairs were great! I will say the only draw backs was that the pillows all need replacing and the bedroom bed (king) is very very firm. There is also a bar nearby which plays live loud music till about 10 pm every night. It didn’t bother us much as we stay up late but if u have children it may bug you. All in all a very good rental. Very good for the price! Would stay again!

This is a very spacious apartment in a clean quiet building. Best part is free parking and a really great steak house on the ground floor. Not a place for lounging at the pool or hanging around the resort, but a great location, close to the beach and shopping.

It was my first visit since September 2018, and it had been renovated and was beautiful.It was nice that the toilet in the master bedroom had also been replaced with a washlet.Having a washer and dryer in the room is very convenient.Although the room was on the top floor, there seemed to be no one staying in the other rooms on the same floor, so it was very quiet.Unfortunately, at night, you can hear the loud live music from the ground from the window, and you can only think of it as noise.Other than that, there were no problems at all, and I would recommend this room to everyone.

Upon entrance to property PH4, corner wall had been very sloppily repaired. There were plaster pieces all over the floor and we had to clean them up. When we mentioned that to the property manager he said he knew about it.
Air vents full of dust and hair. Air conditioning that didn’t work in living room where Murphy bed was located. Very uncomfortable for sleeping.
Soap holder in second bath broken. Very small shower and no where to put your things.
Vanities in both bathrooms never updated and very low.
Shower door in master bath was off track and very dirty looking.
Outlets in living room were filthy and one on kitchen wall sloppily repaired.
Our unit was on the 23rd floor of the building. On the second night upon arriving back to the unit we were greeted by a HUGE cockroach on our door and couldn’t shoo it away. Needless to say, we weren’t sure how many were crawling around our unit.
The next morning (Thursday) we were having coffee and made plans for the day. When we went to take showers, all the water had been turned off with no notice to us. We called the property manager and did not get an answer. Then called Captain Cook and told her our problem. She contacted James Wickert our property manager who told us that indeed the water was off until about noon!! We could use the restrooms in the lobby (23 stories down) if we needed them. Our only option was to move out. I am very displeased and expect refund.

Loved view, location, space, wonderful manager, communication, most of the furniture was true to picture however, not the living room set and rug. I was disappointed that the living room furniture and coffee table were not exactly as shown on the website. It is still showing as such. The living room sofa was leather and the chair uncomfortable. I was going for a comfy look though I do not think I would have even look at it with the current living room set. But like I said. view, location, space, manager were great!!!

From being greeted at the apartment by James right through until when we left, everything was great. Excellent location in the middle of Waikiki, very well equipped kitchen (storage containers, utensils, blender etc) which enabled us to eat meals in, plenty of room for us all to relax. Great having two bathrooms for the 5 of us. The beds in the living area were comfortable enough (according to my kids). Watched the Friday night fireworks off the lanai and the view was amazing. Overall we were really pleased with what we got for the price.

The unit is spacious for a family of 4. Nearby restaurants, stores, shopping and a short walking distance to the beach. It has the basic needs, dishes, cutlery, pots, coffee maker. Beach chairs and towels are also provided. It is nicely staged as viewed online but these photos are very deceiving. It is very outdated. The very old sofa bed creaks and the master bedroom bed mattress is very hard. The toilet flush is not working properly but we worked around it. It is a very noisy area. We had the doors shut in the evening, but can hear the loud band/singing from the nearby bars. In the early morning, around 4-4:30, the noise from commercial vehicles would wake us up.

Unit is quite large, and with two bathrooms and a very confortable Murphy bed in the living area, it acts like a two bedroom. The location is convenient, but busy and noisy being in the middle of Waikiki. There is an outdoor club right below with live music nightly. Fortunately, the music stops right at 10pm; must be a local regulation. The kitchen is not very well stocked, by the way. All in all, a decent place to stay in Waikiki, especially if you appreicate or need a large unit.

Very spacious and clean penthouse unit in a central location in Waikiki. We loved our stay and would recommend it for families traveling to Honolulu and interested in staying in Waikiki for their trip. Plenty of restaurants and shops within walkable distance. Parking in the basement, entering and exiting is relatively easy and it's easy to get to/from the freeway. My only complaint is the building elevator can be quite slow, especially since we're on the top floor.

We loved the location, pent house, beautiful Lanai n everything about it. Property manager were very responsive. Explained all check in check out details.
Two minor issues - dryer broke down and front door keypad wasn’t working the 3rd day. Property manager responded quickly for both issues. Overall a very nice experience. Will rent again. Free parking was so good. Penthouse is 5 min walk to all happening places in Waikiki.
The breakfast place downstairs is amazing and food court right in-front of the building.

I like the location. A lot of stores, shopping and restaurants within walking distance. The property manager is nice and was response to my request quick. The room was ok. They did not clean the bathroom well. I still see some mold/dirty stuff in the shower area. The AC in kitchen and family room is not cool enough, even though I adjusted it down but it still felt hot. The dryer doesn’t work well. I have to do 2-3 times to get my clothes dry. There are No AC in the Hall way and elevator. The air circulation in the building is not good. The building is too old and smell bad.

We had a wonderful stay at Marine Surf. It was centrally located and was convenient for walking around to visit stores and restaurants in Waikiki. We loved the free parking included with our unit. The place had a gorgeous view of the ocean and mountains. We were able to watch the fireworks on Friday night from the lanai. Our property manager, James, was great at responding quickly to my texts. The only reason I’m not giving this unit a 5 star review is that I would’ve liked to see the place to be a bit cleaner. I noticed I few spots and areas were missed in the bathrooms and the dining area. Some of the furnitures are needing maintenance as they were showing their age, wear and tear, needing to be replaced soon. But overall our entire family of 6 were comfortable and utilized the kitchen amenities and washer and dryer nicely included in the unit.

Pros: Excellent location, centrally located within walking distance to everything in Waikiki. Makes for a very convenient vacation if you are staying in Waikiki. Large one bedroom with plenty of room for 4. Didn't try the sofabed. Lots of towels and a closet full of beach chairs, board, etc for the beach. Nice that there's a washer and dryer in the unit. Very secured building and includes parking for one vehicle which is nice as parking in Waiki can be expensive.
Cons: Check-in requires a few steps. It's very dated with some newer furniture. For the most part beds, bathrooms, surface areas were fairly clean, but you could feel the greasy build up on cupboard doors and fridge. The small shower stall wasn't very clean. It's very noisy and you can hear traffic, construction, and performers sing from Kalakaua Ave. There was a consistent sound from within the bedroom, could be the air conditioner. Dresser drawers, doors to closets, cabinets don't stay close. Patio doors are hard to open. Lots of carpet stains.

Things we liked:
Location was great - very walkable distance to beach. Having an air conditioner was very much appreciated. Enough space for six people to sleep. The building was quiet. We appreciated the beach chairs and umbrella. The wall of windows that opened fully making the dining room larger if desired.
What we didn't like:
The sliding doors to the lanai were very hard to slide.
Not enough beach towels - and a text to the property manager didn't remedy that - we made do.
Not enough snorkel equipment for 6, again, we made do - not a big deal, but we did think a place for 6 should have enough things for 6.
The kitchen--we rent places with kitchens to make vacations for 6 a little more budget friendly - we were disappointed in this one...
Not enough dishes - a condo advertised for 6, had only two "adult" bowls.
No handles in the cabinets - something we didn't notice in the pictures and didn't know we would dislike.
No potholders which is annoying.
The oven didn't get as hot as it should - we ended up having to broil our pizzas.
Low clearance if microwave over stove made using the back burners difficult.
Several of the pots/pans/etc needed to be washed before use, which gave the place a "dirty" feel.
We would have loved a bigger skillet or two as we were cooking for 6.
Overall the place was adequate, we're just a family who enjoys cooking and felt a bit cramped in our style by the kitchen. And we think that a place that sleeps 6 should.be euipped for 6 in all the things.

This property was the perfect size for our family. Check-in/out was a breeze. Hosts were easy to communicate with. It was great to have a parking space in central Waikiki. The views from the lanai were beautiful. The property felt very safe.
The couch bed was too uncomfortable to use so we borrowed an air mattress from a local family member. There is a bar downstairs that has live music every night which can be loud in the unit even with doors closed & curtains drawn.
Definitely would recommend this place!

We enjoyed our stay in PH4. The layout is nice and roomy compared to others we have rented. Captain Cook is great to work with and our property manager was top notch! We were disappointed in the pull out couch sleeping options so we requested a blow up mattress and got it the same day. The location and parking space are great. If you have not been to Waikiki before you just need to be aware that many of the hotel/condo accommodations are old and need to be refurbished. This unit is good and what I would call normal for this area but in other area's it would be subpar. The value for this condo in Waikiki is solid. The pull down queen is adequate but the hide-a-bed options are not suitable for adults. Condo was clean. The master suite is wonderful and has a full bath. It was nice having a second full bath.

Because it was a penthouse, the view was wonderful, I could see the sea of Waikiki, and I also enjoyed the fireworks at the Hilton Hotel. We overall enjoyed the property accommodations. There were, however, a few glitches: 1) the water was off in the entire building for a few hours while another unit's plumbing was under repair (although I don't blame management for that) and 2) management informed me a day after we arrived that a new dishwasher would be delivered to replace the existing one on a certain day and time frame during our stay but it never happened. In the mean time, we realized the existing dishwasher was malfunctioning so we couldn't use it. Despite all that, the staff was courteous and friendly.

This is a great, one bedroom apartment with extra sleeping for 4 in the main living area. The location is excellent, a short walk to the beach, restaurants, supermarket, bus & shops. The apartment is tired: the dishwasher leaked, the 2 bathrooms are dated. It could do with a few extras (glasses, broom, a vacuum cleaner that works, an extra guest key). We loved the balcony & the freedom the great location & apartment offered, meaning we enjoyed a real family holiday, which American hotel rooms do not generally allow. Didn’t look at the pool. Beware the awful smell in the lobby, really not sure what it was 🤭

Email and phone Communication with the reps and property manager were efficient and satisfactory. The PH had enough starter supplies for us (bath, dish washer, washlet, garbage bags, TP, paper towels). It was also very convenient they had a ton on towels for us to use. The lanai was spacious and furnished perfectly. Definitely a child friendly rental. They were also able to accommodate a parking space swap since we had to rent a small van. Location was perfect- close to Starbucks, Food places, the beach and ABC stores.

This penthouse unit had all the amenities we needed. Our property manager was pleasant and helpful to ensure we had what we needed so my stay wouldn’t be interrupted with inconvenience. View was great. In all our years of travel this was the first rental that didn’t require us to strip linen, wash dishes or empty trash upon departure. So the cleaning fee charged for this rental is truly a cleaning fee. I didn’t have to worry about washing the few cups or plates we used for a quick breakfast on day of departure. Most notably, I was traveling with children and our flight was at 9pm. Check out is 11am. I asked my property manager if there was an option for late check out because it would be helpful for us with having the kids. It took them all of 20 minutes to figure everything out and accommodate a later check out. With NO additional expense. It allowed me to be able to pick up our luggage and have the kids take a nap and shower before we left. When traveling as a family, this type of accommodation without nickle and diming you, is the world of difference and enormous help. This type of hospitality should be the prototype for any property management company.

We arrived on an early flight and since check in was not until 3pm we managed to store our luggage at a friends hotel we were travelling with until access. I met our contact at the building and was shown the apartment. All went well, he was informative and friendly. We moved in and were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and space in the apartment. The views are great as it is on the 23rd floor and the surrounding buildings are far away so you are very private on your balcony. There was plenty of bath and beach towels and having a quality Bosch washer and dryer made washing clothes and towels a breeze. There are beach chairs and body boards that you can use and the large kitchen and fridge with ice maker made happy hour so much better. There is always some noise from the street below, as we are in Waikiki that never sleeps, but if you close the sliding doors or just use those small ear plugs all is ok. There is a small pool in the complex but you end up at the beach most times, which is a quick few minute walk away. The location was fabulous, in the middle of everything, with a plethora of restaurants and bars around you. Only one gripe was the toaster that was very fiddly to get to stay on but not a real issue. I would highly recommend this apartment for up to 6 people as we traveled with 2 couples and 1 child and had plenty of room.

I stayed with my three kids at Marine Surf and we had a really good time. The unit was clean and worked well for the four of us. Any more people would have been rather tight. The unit was a four minute walk to Waikiki (the best part of Waikiki in my opinion). There are tons of restaurants and shopping all in the general neighborhood. Views were great too! I would stay again in a heartbeat.

Great place to stay while in Waikiki. The room were nice, clean and spacious for the four of us staying there. It was great to have a washer and dryer in unit for our week stay.
The location was great... located near malls, the beach, bus lines and restaurants. I would highly recommend staying here.

This apartment was really excellent. Location was great, it was clean, quiet and well-equipped. The rental agency was very responsive to our questions and issues (they quickly added a safety lock to the slider for our daughter's safety). The only issue was that it requires a key to get to the penthouse floor, and only having two keys for a large group was annoying. Other than that it was great.

This Penthouse apartment is in a building on the corner of Seaside Ave and Kuhio St. It is well appointed with two bathrooms, a large master bedroom with private lanai and lots of cupboard space, as well as multiple sleeping options in the living area including a very comfortable queen sized Murphy bed. There are flat screen TVs in the living room and bedroom. It's location is very near to the bus stops on Kuhio . . it's a ten minute ride to Ala Moana Shopping Centre and only a block away from all the shopping and restaurants on the main strip. It's an easy 10 minute stroll to the beach. The Food Pantry is just down the street so you can buy the ingredients to cook if that's your preference . . .the kitchen has everything you need. All towels are provided, including beach towels and there are chairs and boogie boards you can borrow to take to the beach. The new washer and dryer are a bonus if you're travelling with a family. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay there again next time we're in Waikiki . . . Jessica from Captain Cook Resorts was a dream to deal with.

Loved the room, beautiful view and many convenient amenities included with the Condo! Only one or two problems, the condensation dryer wouldn't work because apparently it kept getting waterlogged and flashing an error code. Fixed it by just removing the condenser and having the moist air vent into condo instead of dryer's water trap (check youtube). Really needs to be serviced it seems. Also the mattress to the main bed was quite firm, we ended up sleeping on the murphy bed which was more comfortable. Other than that great location for exploring Honolulu with an awesome view up on the 23rd floor!

Stayed at PH4 Marine Surf. Beautiful view and great location close to Waikiki Beach! 24 hour convenience stores are all over the place. Go expecting bad traffic during rush hour and if the condensation dryer is flashing an error code just take out the condenser unit and it works fine.

It was nice to have parking and located in a good spot, 2 blocks or so from the beach. There are no condiments, not even salt and pepper and the bath mats were filthy and caked with hair. It was okay, we just didn't use them. Other than that the place was clean, pretty big and affordable. The manager was very friendly, responsive and kind. Great view.

This was a great apartment to be based in. 2mns walk to all the wonderful waikiki shopping and eating and beachfront, yet away from the busyness just a little as well. Well set up and stocked and the management was particularly helpful, bending over backwards to accommodate us. Main bedroom blinds are balut to be replaced which was needed S it is a bright room at night. The only negative comment I have is that the night noise level in the main bedroom was a little loud as the louvers and air conditioning access in there seemed to allow a higher level of outside noise in than in the lounge area which was significantly quieter. We used earplugs to good effect or you could just sleep in the other bed in the lounge.

This apartment is well located; just down the street from the Royal Hawaiian Shopping center. It is large and the bed in the bedroom is comfortable. The kitchen is adequate and so are the bathrooms.My major issue was with the bedroom windows covering or lack of it. The floor to ceiling windows are covered by vertical blinds with a few pieces missing. Then when you try to open them, other pieces fall out so we stopped trying. Therefore darkness in the bedroom is impossible to achieve. At the same time, part of the windows are louvered glass, so without adequate window coverings the noise from the street does come in. After a while I started sleeping in the living room and it was much better.It was the second time I was renting an apartment instead of going to a hotel, and although I loved the extra space, I am going to stick with hotels from now on.

Everything was great from start to finish with our rental. Captain Cook management company is great to work with and always responded quickly to any e-mails we may have sent. The representative was on the phone with us until we were able to find our parking spot once we were close to the penthouse. Garage parking is tight so rent a smaller car if needed. The elevator is really quick too. The penthouse (24th floor) is in a perfect location for hanging out in Waikiki and we pretty much had the floor to ourselves. Driving in the area is problematic with the traffic and not knowing where we were going, but once we became familiar with it, we were fine. We are not use to city noise 24/7 so for those that are bothered by noise, I would use ear plugs. The home was super clean and fairly well equipped with kitchen ware. The one thing they could use is a pizza pan. I initially wanted a more equipped kitchen but once we arrived and settled in we didn't cook in the kitchen as much as we thought. The beds were very comfortable, the murphy bed was a perfect set up and the living room was comfortable. The views are amazing, too and we could see the fireworks on Friday night. I would stay here again in a heartbeat if we were to ever come back.
