The condo was very clean and well maintained. Great views of the ocean from our balcony; we ate several dinners on the balcony. Maui Resort Rentals, the company which manages the property was easy to contact and they quickly responded to all of our requests and questions during our stay. The Honua Kai Resort is right on the beach, has several excellent pools, snorkel equipment rentals, and a great general store. Overall, a superlative property.

The resort and the grounds are first class. On first appearance the condo was lovely. When you look deeper you can see that a refresh is needed. Couch and carpet are visually stained. Pull out bed mattress is well past it’s prime and the mattress is ripped. Bathtub did not have hot water when we arrived and the plug did not work. Showerhead was so dirty that the black mould came off on your hands when touched. Management company responded quickly to fix but I felt that these items should’ve been working when I arrived. They did not feel the same way and not so much as a sorry for the inconvenience. I will definitely come to Honua Kai again but not this suite or management company.

Nice sized 2 bedroom condo with gorgeous views from the lanai. Quiet and clean and photos are as advertised. Staff at Maui Resort Rentals were lovely to deal with.

My family decided on a vacation to Maui to celebrate our son's college graduation, my daughters high school graduation and our upcoming 30th anniversary. We have been to most of the islands in the Caribbean and wondered what made Maui worth the extra travel time and expense. When we arrived at the Honua Kai and opened up the doors to the lanai we knew why Maui was worth the jet lag and extra $$. Without a doubt Maui has so much to offer in activities, beautiful beaches and fabulous weather but it was Honua Kai unit #933 is what made this trip especially memorable. This unit is everything that is advertised and more. As I've seen other travelers comment the view is even better than we anticipated. One of the things that I loved about this property is that the grounds have a very luxurious yet authentic Hawaiian feel. Unit #933 is well appointed not the least of which is the coffee. Even our kids couldn't wait to get out of bed for a cup of coffee on the lanai! Thank you so much for making our Maui vacation beyond expectation!!!

I just want to thank you for sharing your beautiful condo with us. We all had such a relaxing time. It was a perfect place for our family (with a 2.5 year old toddler). It was a very clean, modern and spacious condo in a great location. Conveniently, there is a well prices supermarket across the street. There is also a cute coffee shop style store, which has everything you really need, on the resort. The condo also included everything I needed for my son (high chair, crib, beach toys...).
Watching the wales from Lani, enjoying the pools and beach, and eating pancakes at Duke's.... everything was just great. There was only one problem: we didn't want to leave! 9 days was just too short! I have been to other warm destinations including Mexico, Caribbean, Tahiti, even Cook Islands but there is something about Maui and particularly your place at Honua Kai resort. I have already recommended your place to my sister in law and some friends. It is just perfect for a low key family trip. Everything we needed was just there and we could just relax and enjoy. I am already trying to figure out when is the next time we can go there :)

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful 2 weeks at this property! The condo exceeded our expectations in terms of comfort and privacy. One of the most quiet condos we have ever stayed in! Very spacious living room, high end kitchen and appliances, VERY comfortable beds, spacious bathrooms, and great showers! The underground parking was very convenient (and appreciated given the high winds we had for several days!). Great to have a large supermarket next door and restaurant on the resort grounds. We also enjoyed the beach walk that connects a number of resorts. The owners were very responsive in arranging the rental and we would highly recommend this property (and hope to return!).

My wife and I stayed in here on our honeymoon and couldn't have been more pleased. The condo was beautiful and very spacious. Based on the description and photos, we had very high expectations, and those expectations were exceeded. The property was very clean and well-maintained. The pool areas are great. Due to the layout, the pools never felt crowded. The kitchen and laundry in the unit, along with the public grilling areas, were big pluses. There is immediate beach access, as well.
We loved having Duke's Restaurant and Bar on site, and the grocery store across the street was very convenient. For a nicer dinner, I would definitely recommend heading to Lahaina for Lahaina Grill. If willing to make a longer drive, we would recommend a Haleakala bike tour to everyone! Just make sure you bundle up.
We would definitely recommend this unit to family and friends. We feel like it was a great value compared to some of the hotel options, especially when you consider the amount of space in the condo. We are already looking for an opportunity to come back, and when we do, we'll hope that the same unit is available. Highly recommend.

The condo had a great view of the ocean, beach and sunsets from the living room, as well as beautiful and very comfortable furniture and beds, three nice LCD TVs, a nice kitchen and balcony. It was about a one hundred yard walk to the beach and a quarter mile walk to the grocery store. I went running on the boardwalk in the morning, took scuba diving lessons in the mid-morning and went golfing in the afternoons. There were several pools on-site and Duke's restaurant was there, if you don't want to cook. It was within long walking distance to the Kaanapali golf courses and to Black Rock. Best of all, it was in Maui and that was really what made it such a great condo!!
On the negative side, the dryer kept shutting down after ten minutes and there was a very small leak in the inflatable bed, which was still very comfortable, but made me get up every couple of hours to start the inflater again. Overall, I was very happy and can't wait to stay there again!

Spectacular! The condo is absolutely stunning, with large bedrooms and bathrooms, very comfortable beds and a very well furnished kitchen. We had five ladies and never felt crowded. We spent many hours on the lanai watching beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The grounds and pool areas are beautiful and well maintanied. The underground parking with the elevator right there to take you directly to your floor was very helpful especially when you are carrying groceries and lugguge. We took advantage of Duke's for dinner, happy hour and listening to live music. The beach was amazing and easily accessible, you didnt have to swim out very far to get some good snorkeling. This was our first trip to Maui and we cannot stop talking about how wonderful the condo was and what great memories we all have.

Honua Kia was the nicest condo we've ever rented. The owners were wonderful in answering all questions and gave us great suggestions for things to do. The location was the best. Front Street was just a few miles down the road with great restaurants and shopping. The property and the condo were beautiful, modern, and well-maintained. No photo could do justice to this place. The only problem we had was with air conditioning in the guest bedroom, but one call to maintenance and they immediately had us comfortable. I would recommend this property to everyone.

My husband and I along with our 3 daughters and my mother stayed two glorious weeks in March at Jeni and Al's spacious 2 bedroom condo. The condo had everything we needed for fun including boogie boards, beach towels and chairs, a cooler and lots of sand toys and inflatable rings for the pool. The condo has a very nice view of the pool area and ocean. The management company did a great job cleaning and providing many supplies. We loved having the lanai doors opened and rarely used the AC. My husband enjoyed barbecuing many evenings, watching the sunsets and talking to the other guests. Great snorkeling and body surfing on the beach in front of the Honua Kai. Also we enjoyed pool service and a few meals at Dukes. Times grocery store right across the street and a Farmer's market down the road. The Honua Kai is close to Lahaina and many of the activities Maui has to offer. You will not be disappointed staying in this condo!

I stayed here for a week with 3 other friends while we were in town for a friend's wedding and this place was pretty much perfect..we couldn't have asked for anything more. The view from the 9th floor is pretty amazing (we saw plenty of whales from the lanai, and there were also fireworks one night). The main sitting area, rooms and bathrooms were all pretty fancy looking, and huge...more than enough space for the 4 of us. In fact, by the end of the week, everyone else who was in town for the wedding wanted to hang at our place. The kitchen had everything (microwave, oven, toaster, plates, bowls, silverware etc...) so we stayed in and cooked most of our meals during the days. There's also a washer/dryer, with detergent provided, so you don't have to pack too much.
The location was great. A shopping area was right across the street where we could go for quick eats, groceries etc. If you need a board, a surf shop is right across the street also. The guy who works there is the chillest guy ever and he'll hook you up with straps, rash guard, booties, wax etc...for free with any board rental. Also, the Lahaina/front street area was just a short drive away where there are tons of bars, restaurants and shopping areas to keep you entertained.
The only other thing I can think to say about this place is that I didn't want to leave. And I don't just mean Maui...the place made it hard to find a reason to go out and explore the island at times, but don't worry, we still did, and you will too.
Anyways, if you're having any doubts about this place, don't, there's no reason to...make your reservation as soon as you get a chance.
