The home is situated on a stunning, dynamic, and beautiful beach. It was perfect for our family get together. Plenty of room as well as privacy for all. Among my favorite details: the hammock between the trees, the outside shower, the well supplied kitchen, spacious living area. Amazing home and best location on earth. Was perfect for our family and my sister’s family. The ocean was perfect for teenagers. Not sure it would be as great for younger kids as the calm part of the ocean is a bit of a walk but it was a perfect set of waves for teenagers. The hot tub was also lovely on the day it rained.

We loved staying at this beautiful house. Perfect views of the beach, very well equipped with everything we needed, helpful property manager. There was no ping pong table that we could find and the twin beds are more like a couch, but otherwise everything was just as promised. The beach our front is very rough in the winter, so you definitely need to walk down to tunnels or Ha'ena to get in the water.

Like other previous guests, this was a big splurge, a once-in-a-lifetime trip for our family. We're a three-generation group of eight (ages 8 to 69) and Kaulana Naue was exactly as described and more. The wonderful hosts, Leila and Mike, were readily available and accommodating. They even lent us wetsuits in multiple sizes for our grandkids when I mentioned that the kids got a bit chilled when snorkeling at Tunnels.
The home was perfect for us with every bedroom having their own bathroom. The kitchen was big enough for multiple cooks and had all the equipment we needed. The well-maintained spa was used multiple times a day. We even had a fun ping-pong tournament one day when taking a break from beach activities!
Twenty years ago we stayed directly on Tunnels and were hoping to do the same for this trip. BUT... this location was actually better because we had small waves for boogie boarding AND amazing tide pools right out front where we saw crabs, an eel, a live conch, sea cucumbers, AND a baby octopus! Watching the net fishermen in the morning was so interesting and when the wind kicked up in the afternoons, we were amazed by the various kite surfers. It was paradise with rainbows, sunrises and sunsets and we made family memories that will last forever.

Plenty of room for a large family vacation (we had 6 adults and 4 children). Home is larger in person than the photos show in the listing; plenty of room for the family to spread out. Nice deck and spa with view of the ocean and sunsets. Rocky beach good for snorkeling right outside home, and taking a refreshing dip in the water. About 15 minutes from Hanalei Bay for rock free swimming. Ten minute walk to the Hanalei Colony Resort to catch a shuttle to the Ha'ena State Park (make reservations and the pick location in advance).

We arrived at night and walked into the house and loved the architecture, the layout, the furnishings-just everything, but it wasn't until the morning that we grasped the beauty of this property. I walked out of my room and turned right and was looking at this breathtaking view all across the back of the house. I am not kidding it was stunning. I watched as each person woke up and walked down the hall toward the front of the house to wake up to this view! No one could speak-just look. It really is something! The pictures do not do it justice. it really made it hard to leave and take in all that Kauai has to offer!
We cooked a few meals here and there was absolutely EVERYTHING we needed in the kitchen. Eating on the deck was a treat for my 60th birthday-again the views of sunset (and sunrise) are gorgeous! We also found beach chairs and even toys for our grandson to enjoy.
I had read that the home did not have air conditioning which didn't effect the main living area at all, but the bedrooms would get warm. We utilized the multiple fans through out the house to get comfortable at night. The steps to the beach were a little tricky, but I managed with a little help from my kids! We are already talking about coming back and spending Thanksgiving here in a few years if this house is still available! I was a little worried about "going all out" for this vacation as It is a long way from Virginia, but it was absolutely worth the long trip & the cost. This is where you want to stay!

This house is amazing! Multigenerational family vacation with 9 adults. Every room is like a master suite. The common areas are perfect for a large group, with excellent media/surround sound in the living room, huge dining table overlooking the ocean, and a large deck with hot tub to watch the surf for turtles. We walked out every morning to watch sunrise and took a sunset stroll to Tunnels beach where we found a monk seal sleeping in the beach in the sun. Snorkeling right outside the gate and close to Hanalei for some walking, shopping and eating. Leila the property manager is awesome and so helpful. We can’t wait to go back

Our family of ten- six adults and four children- had a wonderful time on our Kauai Thanksgiving vacation. Leila made sure all the cooking equipment I'd need to make a Thanksgiving dinner was in the kitchen ready to go. The home was wonderfully equiped from the kitchen to sand toys and games. The ocean view and the sound of the waves at night were magnificient. I can't say enough about Leila's organization and hospitality. If you are someone who loves studying Hawaiian plantation architecture, the ceilings will keep you entertained for hours. Simply a beautifully kept home that allows privacy spaces and community spaces- the perfect combination for a family vacation!

If you are looking for a peaceful getaway where there are still plenty of activities if you choose to do so look no further. We just finished a wonderful six-day stay in Haena at Kaulana Naua. Everything about the house and the location got rave reviews from all six adults and two toddlers. The house is perfect for a large family group and provides lots of common space in the living-dining-kitchen-deck areas facing the beach which is only about 30 feet from the deck. Having five bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom, would give even a large group (easily 10 adults or 12 with some children in the mix) plenty of privacy and comfort. The house and yard spaces are very well maintained and include a good deal of impressive polynesian art and artifacts. The kitchen is exceptionally well-equipped. And it's all right on a beautiful cove beach, right next to the long and beautiful Tunnels Beach, and near Haena State Park with its Ke'e Beach and access to the Napali coast trail.
It is important to do some advance planning due to restrictions on access to Haena State park. Those restrictions have done a lot to reduce the awful traffic and parking conjestion in this spectacularly beautiful area but essentially require that you take a free shuttle to the park. Reservations can be made at GoHaena.com. The process seems a bit daunting at first but worked out fine for our party of eight. Reserved parking at the park is available in theory, but the parking reservations seem generally to be taken within the first minute after they are made available at midnight a month in advance.

The entire family enjoyed this amazing home. It’s beautifully decorated, comfortable, and has everything you could ever want or need. We cooked most of our meals and were pleasantly surprised by how well equipped the kitchen was. The location was perfect for us. The view from the deck is spectacular and it’s about a ten to fifteen minute walk to Tunnels Beach. The drive to Hanalei was easy and it was nice to visit, but I’m so glad we were a bit removed from throngs of tourists there.

What an amazing house in a fantastic location. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to spend a week with good friends. Preparing food and eating while looking at the ocean, hanging on the long balcony, with every seat having a great ocean view, and of course hanging out in the hot tub while looking at the ocean! But the best part was being able to simply cross the yard, go through the gate, and be on the beach! We walked to the restaurant just down the way, and walked to Tunnels to snorkel. We were able to see the sunset from the point just by the house. Plenty of bath and beach towels. A ton of kitchen gear - easy to make almost anything - and a gourmet espresso machine! (and a normal coffee maker) While we only used the ping pong table once, we used the hammock daily, and many of the board games. We had a great time and hope to come back some day.

We recently stayed for 5 nights at this gorgeous property. There were 11 of us, 6 adults and 5 children ages 6-11. The home is very spacious and well appointed. We gathered as a group on the deck, in the kitchen and dining room and/or in the cozy large living room. At the same time, we could retreat to our individual bedroom spaces for down time. Below the deck is a yard with grass, an outdoor shower and a hammock. There is a charming gate that leads directly to the ocean. We went to the beach every morning to watch the sun rise. If the waves weren't too rough ( and they weren't most of our stay), the kids would go in the water while the adults admired the views. Another advantage of the location is its proximity to Tunnels Beach. We were able to walk 10 minutes down the beach to Tunnels where everyone snorkeled. It was only a 10-15 minute drive into Hanalei which was also convenient. What we loved about this property and the location was the fantastic views of the ocean and the surrounding lushness of the North Shore. We were very lucky with the weather during our stay. However, on the evening before the day we checked out, there was a tremendous amount of rain and part of the road flooded and the Hanalei bridge closed. Leila was very attentive to this situation and monitored the road and bridge conditions for us. We were delayed a few hours, but finally made it across the bridge and down to Poipu. Our stay at Kaulana Naue was the highlight of our visit to Kauai. Thank you Leila!

"Wow!" That was the first word we said as we stepped into Kaulana Naue. We selected this VRBO rentalto celebrate a couple of lifetime milestones with our sons and daughters (7 adults) and infant granddaughter. The house is even better than depicted in the photographs. We had enough space for everyone's privacy and the apartment was perfect for our granddaughter. The home is well-stocked with towels and is beautifully and comfortably furnished and decorated. The lanai has amazing views of the beach, a soothing hot tub, and plenty of outdoor seating for al fresco dining. The beach is just outside the back gate and provided hours of relaxing time walking in the surf, visiting the tidepools, and reading on the beach. Before we left, we were already planning a return trip!

This was a fabulous house and location. The space turned out to be much larger than what we expected and the view and ocean waves were unforgettable. The house was clean and gorgeous. The property manager was kind and responsive and she even helped us with a few local area questions. I can suggest s few small improvements: We could only get one Sonos speaker to work in the house, I guess they had a power outage before we arrived. The property manger tried to fix it but it wasn't resolved. We just used our own bluetooth speaker anyway. We tried to turn on the TV but couldn't, however, we didn't ask for help with the TV. They also need to purchase some new beach chairs and umbrellas for the guests. Other than that we loved staying there.

I can not possibly give a strong enough review. This property is perfect! Leila was so incredibly good to work with and the house was way above and beyond our expectations. It is set up perfectly for large groups. Every room has an on-suite bathroom and the kitchen/living room are amazing. All of that said, the location is the real reason to come to this house. It is unreal how beautiful the setting is. I can't think of a single negative.

Our group of eight had a fantastic time staying at Kaulana Naue. The location is literally steps from the beach and the house itself was very comfortable and had every possible amenity. We especially enjoyed congregating on the back deck to watch the ocean surf, Hawaiian monk seals right on the beach, and for starry-filled nights.
We were excited to be in such close proximity to Tunnels Beach which has become a favorite from our past visits to Kauai.
Property manager Leila was extremely easy to work with and very responsive during the whole process.

This property was exactly as it looks in pictures. It truly was magnificent. The location was perfect, we walked most days out on the beach to Tunnels Beach which is a short distance to watch the sunset, there we always saw turtles and sea lions, it was beautiful. We went to the farmers market in town to get fruit which I highly recommend as I have never had mangos that were this big and sweet. We hiked to Hanakapi’ai Falls which was a tough hike but worth it as the falls were beautiful. We ended up eating in most days as eating dinner while watching the ocean was so nice.

Incredible stay in Kauai. House plenty big enough for ten with everything we needed. Location that was out of a movie scene. Snorkeling fifty feet off the backyard and a ten-minute walk to Tunnels Beach. Beaches felt very private - more dogs than people on some nights! Hiked two miles away to Hanakapi’ai Falls - unbelievably beautiful … remember, need an online pass! Traffic convoy took some planning if you’re headed back towards the airport but was never a nuisance and the wait averaged 15 minutes. We will return. Thank you, Leila!

Nine family members stayed at Kaulana Naue. The house is very large and we loved the layout. The water was too rough to snorkel right by the house (for us), but a short walk to tunnels beach provided a great place to snorkel and splash around with my 4 year old granddaughter. I suggest taking the road instead of the beach route. They are still working on the landslide and ushering cars through at various times. We never waited more then 15 minutes, but you just have to plan your day based on the times that the road is open. We should have made dinner reservations before we came because many of the restaurants are closed or at reduced capacity.
Leila was very responsive and we met her husband and daughter during our stay.
The views off of the back patio are fantastic and more then enough room to spread out for our group. We even saw a moon rainbow at 10:00 pm. I had never seen one before and we have great pictures.

A perfect location for a family gathering on the North Shore of Kauai. Lots of space and privacy for twelve in a well equipped, well kept home. Comes with all the toys you may want. A site that features sunset and sunrise over the ocean, Kaulana Naue, a north facing spit of land. A walk away from Tunnels Beach, Haena State Park (We wish we had gotten a heads up that the park is not available without reservations a month ahead of time, however. That also limits access to the Kalalau Trail.), Limahule Tropical Gardens, and more. The beach out front is good for snorkeling at high tide and calm seas, but beautiful at all times. We would definitely choose this place again for our future stays in the most beautiful part of Hawaii.

Kaulana Naue is a stunning house right on a North Shore beach. We enjoyed the view from the deck, the hot tub overlooking the ocean and being able to walk through the gate onto the sand. Please note that the ocean in front of the house can be challenging with undercurrents. The house has 5 bedrooms and each has its own private bathroom. The layout is perfect for a big family as it allows everyone some private space. The kitchen is full of high end appliances and lots to dishes. If you like to cook, you can easily feed a crowd. The sound of the waves crashing and the view from the living room make the long drive from Lihue Airport worth it. Given the landslide that happened on Highway 56 in March 2021, there is intermittent traffic control around Princeville while they stabilize the landslide area. This impacted our sightseeing schedule quite a bit. The construction should be done by August 2021. We would recommend planning activities that keep you on the North Shore. Otherwise, you could spend a lot of time waiting in traffic to pass through the construction site. The house is in a quiet residential area. The yard is very private and lush. We woke up to the sound of birds singing. My entire family felt we had landed in paradise. The owner, Leila, was very responsive to all my questions. We would highly recommend staying in this gorgeous home.

We had the most awesome stay for 10 days at the end of May. The weather was perfect this time of year. The house is the perfect layout for a group of friends. It worked really well with small kids too. The ocean and views were incredible. Where else on earth can you see the sun rise and set on the ocean horizon from the same spot? I can’t recommend this house enough. Leila and her husband are so accommodating and fun. Very easy to have a great time at this house.

This is a perfect house for large groups. We were three couples and it could not have been better. You could easily have more people and several children for sure. We never used two of the bedrooms. We loved that the three bedrooms we used each had a King Bed and a bathroom (Ensuite).
The hot tub on the deck was used twice a day especially after long hikes. We had a local chef prepare meals two nights and went to Hanalei for dinner the other 5 nights. There are great restaurants in Hanalei Bay. There are not any good restaurants close by though there is one that serves basic food. The house is well stocked with everything. It's an easy and beautiful 5 mile drive to Hanalei. Everyone who comes to the North Shore of Kauai to stay knows that there is always a risk of rain. Rain was predicted for all 7 days of our vacation. 5 of the nights it only rained at night and the other two days there were morning rains and then it cleared. It can be worse for sure (we've had years with lots of rain, but what a great place to be whether it's full sun, spectacular clouds or even in the rain. It's really hard to beat this home for a large group. Leila and Mike were attentive to everything we needed. It was everything we were hoping it to be. 5 stars for sure!

This house is beautiful and PERFECT for a larger group. The beach is right outside the back gate, and is somehow even more beautiful and perfect than the house- which is saying a lot!
Leila, the host, was very helpful and always available with any questions we had. She was great.
The location is great. It was only a 5-6 minute drive from the Haena state park where you access the Na Pali coast hikes. Your choice of amazing beaches are minutes away also.
I give it 5 out of 5 stars and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an amazing place to stay!

We had a fantastic time. The home was even bigger and better than I expected. We celebrated my wife's 30th bday with 5 couples in total and everyone loved it. Leila and Mike were so good about giving recommendations and delivering kayaks, SUPs, and surfboards straight to the house. Views were gorgeous and hiking/snorkeling/surfing were all right there.
