Enjoyed it very much. Many little extras, that we were not expecting, that made our stay fantastic.

The house was a perfect base camp for our adventures on this side of the island. We loved waking up and catching the sunrise with waves crashing against the rocks and watching the sunset from the nearby beach. The road noise/traffic was more than we expected but since we were gone most of the day, it didn’t bother us too much. The location was perfect for driving up for hikes at Koke’e State Park. I recommend taking road 550 up there (closer to the house than the main road and less winding and less traffic, plus 550 has sweet views). Breakfast at Gina’s was delicious, as were the snow cones at JoJo’s and tacos from Tiki Tacos. Can’t wait to come back!

House is ocean front , the beach is not swimmable. Hwy 50 is between the house and water however not much of a distraction and no road noise penetrates in to the house. AC is window type throughout and cooled the house well. Ownership and cleaning staff was easy to work with. Kitchen equipped well, water Toys are provided. Washer dryer is full size. The house is a raised so it’s 14 steps to enter, flat floor once you enter. If you don’t mind the drive to Luis and Kaja keep in mind of an hour it’s a cool house.

Beautiful house and AC in every room! Ocean view from the wrap around porch was amazing. We were sad to leave.
August 2024
This house is just incredible! The cleanliness and open floor plan makes for an incredible vacation. Lots of extras such as spices, condiments, coffee, sweet n low, toilet paper, sunscreen etc. The view is amazing and listening to the waves crashing on the rocks in front of the House wonderful as well as the magical sunsets and being able to see more stars than I’ve ever seen. Just incredible!

August 2024
We had a great time. The views are great. We were a little disappointed there isn’t much sandy beach around and none across the road from the house. The location is great for exploring Waimea canyon and the south side. It’s a drive and some traffic to get to the north side. The property owners were great to work with. We would stay here again.

July 2024
The property has a lot of potential but it needs to be upgraded, specifically the floors, baths, and kitchen. The location is in the outskirts of Waimea, the surrounding communities are populated by locals which provide an opportunity to see how they live and how this area differs from the more touristy sections of the island. With a little TLC, this property will be fabulous as the view of the pacific ocean from the second level is spectacular. The property comes with all beach accessories and has AC in all rooms except bathrooms. We recommend providing more beach towels, we only had 4. Keenan the maintenance man was very responsive when we found some issues upon arrival related to plumbing, etc. Overall we had a good time at this home which could have been enhanced if the property is modernized.

Great location away from other tourists but close to beaches and many small restaurants. Nice amenities and very peaceful.

July 2024
1st impression as we walked into the cottage was WOW!
The sunsets from the deck were spectacular! The cottage was well furnished from the towels to the well supplied kitchen.
Waking each morning to the sound of the ocean was so relaxing and exactly what we needed. We frequented the little sundry store at PMRF base and ate and watched the sunset from Shenanigans restaurant.
Other activities were renting e-bikes, catamaran sunset dinner cruise, mountain tubing and just hanging out.
Note: the sliding doors facing the ocean are very hard to open WD40 did not work.
We would stay here again.

This was a GREAT beach house. Kekaha beach is very uncrowded and a 5 minute walk or 1 minute drive from the house. There is some morning and afternoon traffic on the highway in front of the house, but it didn't keep us awake at night. We all loved the open floor plan. It was so nice to watch the ocean waves crash on the rocks from the porch. We really wanted a rental way from the main tourist areas and this place certainly was that!!!

Loved staying in a neighborhood house and talking with the locals . They were giving us great ideas and were so sweet. Loved traveling the island.

Great location except for the busy road in front across from the beach. Air conditioning is terrible.
TV in bedroom never was fixed. Needs lots of TLC

We loved our time here...everything a beach house should be....your home away from home! If you are looking for a laid back and relaxing, small town, friendly area, with beautiful views.....this is the place for you!
The view off the lanai was amazing, a great way to start your morning, have a cup of coffee and watching the waves crashing. The house is right down from a local beach, no crowds which we loved, coming from Dallas, this was refreshing!
Thank you so much for sharing a little piece of God's creation with us!

We really enjoyed watching the sunsets every night from the porch! The house had everything we needed! Really appreciated the beach chairs and cooler!!

This beachfront bungalow has it all! The views from the front lanai to the palm trees out the sides. Quick walk and you are to Kekeha Beach, which is now in my top 3 beaches!!! You won’t be disappointed with this property, Thank You for sharing.

February 2024
Love the true Hawaiian bungalow with all the amenities you might want. Style and history. Koke'e trip is faster from there. Amazing views of sunset and Ni'ihau! Great flexible space.
January 2024
We had a bit of difficulty finding it in the dark. The place was perfect for our family. Very spacious and well equipped. Beautiful views and relaxing spaces. A little far from most of the action on the island but also pretty peaceful. Would stay again.

January 2024
Our family had just an amazing time at this location. The owner was super responsive to our questions. I would suggest to plan a couple activities where you are back at the location for sunset where you can sit on the lanei. The view is outstanding and if you walk down the road a bit there is a beach to play on. This house was just perfect for our family as my oldest (21) had her own room, my youngest at (15) had his, and we had our own space. We loved the fully stocked with supplies kitchen. We ate breakfast here a lot. We stopped at Costco on way in the first night. The Big Save we went to the next day. Having a washer and dryer was fantastic. The living room was set up well so we could watch tv if we all wanted but also sit at dinning room table and chat into living room or look at ocean. I think after driving the island this is the best spot we could have chosen. We like the location of activities and will stay here again when we come back to visit. Cons were very few - the sound of oceans crashing on the rocks the first night was really loud but it’s just that I didn’t know what it was and now I will miss that sound so much, it’s on a main road so cars do pass but no traffic jams just a nice flow, the shower in the master is a step up and out but if you prefer you can use the other bathroom because there are 2 bathrooms on this property which was also a major plus for this family.
Highlights of island spots for us: Lydgate chocolate tours, driving up Waimea canyon all

December 2023
Great location especially for a sunset. The area was quiet and safe. Must have a car to get to larger grocery store and all restaurants. During our stay, there is no visible beach in front of the house. Walked a half mile to the beach but road was safe. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Spacious house and beautiful location. Nice sized deck to sit and enjoy the scenery and sounds of the ocean. The sunsets are amazing! Though you cannot swim where this house is located there are nice beaches close by.

September 2023
My family enjoyed this beautiful home and this heavenly island! The sound of the waves crashing against the rocks across the street lulled us to sleep at night, and the roosters were our alarm clock. This was our second trip to Kauai but our first time exploring the southern coast - we can't wait to come back again!
The beach house was tidy and well-stocked. Beach towels, chairs, umbrellas and even beach toys for the kids were all available. It was like a home away from home.

Perfect place to stay. Amazing home; amazing views.

August 2023
We loved being across the street from the roaring sound of the ocean waves, crashing onto the rock wall. We sat out on the deck at night just to hear that sound. So awesome! We only stayed here at night because we were gone all day seeing the island and exploring. Just a suggestion to future renters: go find this house while it's still daylight out. We got there late at night and it was a little hard to find. Lol. But no worries once we found it. Kauai island is one of the most beautiful places on earth and we hope to visit again someday.

My nephew lives two streets away and we were attending his wedding. This property was extremely clean. They had window a/c units in the two bedrooms and two in the main living area. We enjoyed the front porch watching the waves crash and the boating activity. The kitchen was well appointed. It was a lovely stay and communication with Scott was great. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to anyone. You will enjoy yourselves..

July 2023
Wonderful ocean view on elevated wraparound porch… great location to attractions at NaPali, Waimea Canyon, Polihale Beach, Hanapepe, Salt Pond Beach etc.
The property is spacious and capable of supporting family of 6. Great Room has ocean views and full kitchen. Bedrooms and baths are well equipped. Owner provides beach accessories which is fantastic.
HVAC is provided by window units and could be improved but does the job well at night.
Management is responsive and communicates well.
Overall we had great stay and would stay again.

The property did have air conditioning BUT it was indicated in the description that they were window units and a free standing. It was miserable 80’s in the living room beginning mid afternoon. So much so that we couldn’t do any cooking since it would heat up the kitchen/living area even more.

March 2023
Loved it. The best rental house I have been in on Hawaii. Thank you for a great stay!
March 2023
This place was fantastic. My family and I enjoyed it so much. Extremely spacious, sleeps 6 people VERY comfortably. We were able to see whales from the front deck while enjoying morning coffee. Very close to town and the closest place you can basically stay to a beach that directly abuts the south side of the Na pali coast. Additionally, very close to the mountains to get to Waimea canyon. A little tricky to find driving up but if you do it in the daylight unlike us you will be fine.

The property was exactly as advertised and very clean. The beach gear was a great perk. Would definitely recommend this property for any couples vacation.

February 2023
Absolutely loved the view of the ocean from the house. Loved listening to the ocean as I slept. The beach where can swim is about 5 minute walk from the house and is stunning length of soft sand. Felt like had it to ourselves. I personally thought it was one of the best beaches on the island. There are boogie boards, snorkeling gear, other beach toys at the house and we had an awesome time in the ocean with those. Would definitely stay here again. Felt blessed to have found this home. Thank you and so grateful.

February 2023
We celebrated an 18th and 16th birthday with our daughters on this trip. We had plenty of space, beautiful long beach and it was nearly empty so we were able to have many gorgeous walks and pictures. Sunsets are gorgeous and you can hear the waves crashing in. Would def stay there again 🌈

What a fantastic way to start our holiday. Loved sitting on the lanai listening to the roars of the ocean. We also saw whales from the lanai our first day. Plenty if space in the house, perfect location.

October 2022
We had a terrific trip and were very happy to have booked this property. 2 adults traveling with our 12-yr-old daughter, stayed 11 nights in mid July. Hosts were prompt & thorough with pre-checkin info as well as with q&a of local area prior to trip. The house was very clean and ready for us upon arrival. We only had 1 minor maintenance issue during stay and the local on-call maintenance man had it fixed within the hour.
The location was perfect for a family trip (quiet local neighborhood with many permanent residents / non-touristy area) with literally 1 min 30 sec drive north to public beach w/ lifeguards, 15 -20 min drive south to Salt Pond Beach (snorkel / boogie board beach with lifeguards). Only 5 min drive to local restaurants/shops/grocery (no national / commercial chain restaurants/stores in town but those options avail 20 min+).
Kitchen is fully stocked pots/pans etc., and we made majority of our meals right at the house with local groceries, and enjoyed the front row ocean views during meals. Gas grill on the lanai was very handy as well to grill up fish & lobster tails. Some beach chairs/boogie boards/masks/fins provided by house!
We had the good fortune to meet many nice local residents, including Allen (older gentleman who does the lawn and grounds maintenance) who took his own time after work to introduce us to some of his local friends who have horses / goats / sheep after learning of our daughter’s interest in animals. Many great local shops and food stands to support the local economy. We did a boat / snorkel tour that was only 20-30 min from house.
FYI’s regarding house / location. For travelers desiring 24-7 low temp AC (maybe Hawaii in July not your best bet to begin with) but… main portion of this house (open layout Kitchen/dining/liv room/ and the main bathroom & queen bedroom) all get a warm (mid -high 70’s) in afternoon despite two ac units covering this section of house (queen bedroom and main bathroom have no AC units). Ceiling fans in all rooms kept air circulating nicely. The 2 back bedrooms (master and guest) stay very cool 24-7 with window ac units. Also, this location will require drive time to reach East or North parts of Island. You cannot drive the full perimeter of island so will backtrack south, which keeps this neighborhood quiet/less traffic, but will require time to reach east/north areas.
Overall excellent property and we hope to return to this property again! Highly recommend!!

Amazing home, quiet location. Celebrated 2 milestone birthdays, ate poke most days. Salt Pond was our favorite beach. Viewed the Nā Pali Coast by land, air and then sea. A trip we will never ever forget. Mahalo.

July 2022
This is a spacious comfortable home near the beach and Waimea Canyon. Loved the lanai! There is a lot of traffic on the road out front. We did have an issue with internet but property manager found a work around for us! Would recommend!
July 2022
We loved the house. It was exactly as described, with good kitchen equipments and a lot of beach gears, all sizes!! Even during hot weather, the house stayed cold with the air conditioning. The beach is very closed and with really few people, not like the crowded beaches in Poi’pu. The house was pretty big. We were a family of 5 and there was definitely enough space for all of us. At night and during the day, the area was really calm. The house is also well positioned, between the beaches and close to Waimea canyon.
We’ll come back for our next trip to Kauai!!

March 2022
Perfect for relaxing to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore; Beautiful views; Great value for our Hawaii vacation.
We began planning our trip for April of 2020, and finally got to go in February of 2022. 5 friends fit comfortably in this spacious home. The lanai provided a perfect spot to begin and end each day. We appreciated the ample supply of beach and snorkel gear provided.
Richard Z.
February 2022
The unit was exceptionally clean. The kitchen was well stocked with everything necessary for a long stay and all instructions were very clear. Nice ac in the bedrooms and living room. Fantastic array of beach stuff provided—multiple beach chairs and umbrellas and enough snorkel and flotation gear for a small army. The only drawback was the street in front of the house was nearly always busy, but the wonderful view from inside made this a minor issue.
Zach P.
February 2022
The house was in such a great location. Since it was on the west side of the island, we were able to see some spectacular sunsets from the porch and from Kekaha beach, just about one hundred yards away. The home itself was amazing as well. Nice wrap around deck with palm trees lining the property. We utilized the beach chairs and snorkel gear almost every day. While we only used the grill once, it was clean and a nice option to have. Highly recommend this place!
David L.
February 2022
Lovely well appointed historic style cottage with all you might need for your relaxed west side vacation. Great selection of beach chairs, towels etc. Sunsets from the lanai overlooking Ni'ihau and can see whales from the lanai. Close to early visits to Koke'e is a wonderful advantage over the rest of the crowds. Great location to go to Port Allen for cruises or restaurants. Polihale trip is closer from here and it takes a while to drive the dirt road. Poipu only 20 minutes away. WONDERFUL!! Mahalo!

February 2022
This house was perfect for our family of 5! There is a beautiful view of the ocean from the lanai and you can hear the ocean at night. It was very spacious and we never felt crowded. Great kitchen with plenty of pots & pans, and we used the grill almost every day. Huge bonus was the cupboard on the lanai with tons of snorkeling gear, water shoes, boogie boards and other beach gear. Thanks for the wonderful stay!

January 2022
Lovely bright sunny home with amazing view of ocean. Well stocked, clean with everything we needed.

December 2021
The beach house is spacious and the king size bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately, we had so much rain that our family on the mainland contacted us to make sure we were ok! There was quite a bit of traffic from early to late, so much so that we kept wondering where all these people were going, as the end of the road is not far! Easy walk to Kekaha Beach is a plus! We would stay here again!
Jordan C.
December 2021
Great house for a family. Perfect evening sunsets, lots of beach gear and a well stocked kitchen. Close to Waimea Canyon if you want to hike. We struggled finding restaurants closeby and did have to drive a bit but we were on island time so it was all good. Will definitely stay here again!
Susie M.
December 2021
Our family spend 5 nights in this beautiful cottage. If you want to get away from the bustling, touristy areas, this is an ideal location! Authentic, residential area with very friendly people, and you can have the beautiful beach - which is a few minute walk - to yourself. The house is spacious, well equipped with beach chairs, umbrellas and towels. Highly recommend it.

November 2021
Great property. Wish I could have enjoyed more sunsets. Spent a lot of time on the east side due to visiting family and friends, therefore missed out on making it back in time for sunset.

November 2021
Our first trip to Hawaii and it did not disappoint! The home was beautiful, clean, and right across the street from the ocean! The renters were easy to reach and got back to me in a timely manner! They provided us with information around the island, such as things to do, places to eat! It was wonderful! I would highly recommend staying here to friends and family! If we ever make it back we’d definitely want to stay here again!

We loved our 11 night stay in Kekaha, the house was absolutely wonderful. This was our 5th trip to Kauai and we always stay in Kekaha, its quaint, quite and friendly. See ya next year, Aloha.

August 2021
When we booked I was looking for seclusion and lots of sand. The location delivered, being a 5 minute walk from miles of beach. The house was perfect for our family of five: clean, spacious enough, and great for meals at "home". Only negative was that it got pretty warm in the house every afternoon and AC struggled to keep up.
Emily W.
July 2021
This house was perfect for our family of five. It was clean, roomy and a great location. Some early morning coffee on the beach kicked off the day for mom and dad while the kiddos slept in just across the street in their comfy beds.
Then we usually got out of the house for a pretty drive up the canyon, some snorkeling or boogie board time. The house has a great stockpile of beach gear, fins, chairs and a cooler. Every detail was looked after and we wanted for nothing.
We'd love to come stay here again! The host was welcoming and communicative and the house was just right.
Thanks for having us!

February 2014
If you like being away from tourists and the artificial resorts, you'll really like this place. The star of the show is the lanai. We loved to relax here in morning with our coffee, as well as in the afternoon and evenings. While relaxing and sipping refreshments, we watched whales breaching and tail-slapping a couple of hundred yards away (bring some good binoculars!). Then came the beautiful sunsets. The location of this house is really great: the road does get a little busy at times, but the Kekaha beach park, where you can walk stretches of empty beach for at least a couple of miles, is just a few yards down the road. The fabulous beach at Polihale State Park is only 30 minutes away. Great views and hiking at Waimea Canyon and Kokee State Park are a short drive away, as are the daily boat tours to Napali. The small, funky town of Waimea, with grocery stores and several eateries, is only 10 minutes away. The former Grove Cafe in Waimea is now a Kalapaki Joe’s. The house itself is spacious, very comfortable and well-furnished. The supply of beach equipment came in very handy, too. Scott and Chad were very easy to work with. This was our first vacation rental, and based on this experience, we’d definitely do it again.

November 2013
My family which included 4 adults and three children stayed here. It was just what we needed as my daughter was getting married at the Waimea Plantation. We enjoyed every aspect of the home- it was clean, sunny, airy and very comfortable. We enjoyed mornings drinking coffee on the lanai and evenings and the sunsets with adult beverages. The house is equipped with everything you need- there were things that I don't even have in my kitchen. When the kids went to the beach they did not have to buy anything because there were coolers, boogie boards, snorkeling equip., etc for their use. We truly enjoyed our time here and it also large enough to entertain inside or on the lanai.

November 2013
This was our first trip to Kauai and we were not disappointed. The house is located in Kekaha, pretty much the end of the road going north on the west side. The small town of Waimea is just a few miles south of the house where you can buy most of what you need. There is a wonderful beach with a lifeguard just across the road and a few hundred yards down from the house. The house is clean, beautiful, bright and airy. The house also has everything you need for the beach including Tommy Bahama beach chairs and umbrellas, coolers and boogie boards. Sitting out on the porch at night with a spectacular view of the ocean and the stars is something we won't soon forget!

May 2013
Almost don't want to tell anybody how nice this place was.... The house- kitchen, beds, bathroom, laundry, deck, etc. were wonderful. Maybe 5 minute walk to the beach, which we pretty much had to ourselves. A little noise from the road traffic in front of the house BUT husband says he would still rate the place as excellent and I completely agree. Conveniently close to groceries and eating places, We would definitely stay here again if we ever return to Kauai.
Keith S.
April 2013
For our first time on Kauai...I think that we hit a homerun with this rental and it's location. For starters, the property manager Scott was extremely easy to work with, very responsive to emails...making the entire process very smooth. The location of this house is amazing...and indeed the west side is by far the sunniest. During our stay...there were flash flood warnings throughout the island as bridges, roads, and beaches on the north side were closed...however, we were enjoying a sunny day (on the beach) in Kekaha. Stores and "Happy Hours" are a short trip away. But...with the sunsets and weather in Kekaha...the best happy hours were on the lanai of our house. The owners and management of this rental have left no stone unturned...including kitchen utensils and beach necessities. Needless to say, we had a wonderful time...thank you Scott!
June 2012
Being on the dry side of the island, we were able to avoid all the rain and still listen to the waves as we fell asleep at night. Very nice accomodations and everything lived up to its description.

June 2012
I have rented VRBO homes for many years and never dissappointed! This was no exception! My first time in Kauai, my wife and anouther couple shared this house making the cost extrememly affordable. Everything was as depicted. We extremely enjoyed staying on this side of the island as we never had rain and were basically in a neighborhood without any "tourist" feeling. The best beach on the island is just down the road, and you are right at the base of the Canyon for great hiking. I was especially pleased with the beach chairs, umbellas, and boogie boards that came with the house. All were very high quality and in excellent repair. The vauted ceiling living area that included kitchen, dining and living rooms was very enjoyable, even though we spent most of our time on the front poarch overlooking the ocean when we were there! If you want a noisy hotel or condo crammed in with a lot of loud tourists, then go elsewhere...if not this is a great place to blend in and relax and feel like your a part of the island culture and not just a sightseer!

May 2012
This house was great. Everything is as advertised.
The house is in first class condition. Clean. Great linens and towels.
We put 2 of the 6 almost new tommy bahama beach chairs in the back of the car, left them there and used them at beaches all over the island. Each morning we would throw some ice and drinks into the ice chest we found in the closet and head out.
We slept in the front bedroom so we could see the ocean every morning when we woke up.
We shopped at the markets in Waimea for groceries. They weren't big city stores but they had a good selection of wine and beer. I would reccommend buying Poke at the Isihara market. They had several kinds that I believe they make at the store. Poke is the Hawaiin version of Sushi without the rice. It was the first time we had had it. It was great as an appetizer.
We didn't use the gas grill but it was in good condition and just outside the door on the lanai. Ther was an extra gas tank in the storage bin around the back.
We were looking for place to get away from everything and found it. The nearest hotel is probably 10 miles away. We went to 2-3 beaches in area and found only locals or a deserted beach.
Sunsets were beautiful. The water was warm.
The road up to the Waimea canyon is just down the street. Boat tours to the amazing Napali coast were available at Port Allen about 10 miles down the road.
The master Bath has an old style free standing cast iron bath tub with a shower.
The second bath had the washer and dryer which we did use. Wireless internet worked well. We didn't watch any TV.
If you go to google earth you can see that the house is almost the last one on the road. It has a turquoise colored roof so it is easy to spot.
The nerighbor to the West was very friendly and helpful.
The owner, Scott, was very easy to work with setting up the rental and sent us info on the island.
March 2012
My girlfriend and I visited Kauaii recently. This was a wonderful house for our stay. It was bright and airy and comfortable. Waking up each morning and seeing the water so close was breathtaking. The kitchen has everything you could need and the towels, beach chairs, boogie boards and umbrellas are of high quality. They have a claw footed tub in the master bath that is great to soak in after a day of hiking! The brokers were informative and helpful and we didn't have any problems. The only down side to this house is the noise from the road, but there is not much you can do about that when you are staying in a beautiful place close to the water with only one highway around the whole Island. The water is also murky here due to the runoff from Waimea but you can still walk down the road to a lifeguard beach. We strongly recommend, great for a family!
