The view was amazing! And the walk out to the sea wall was incredible! Unfortunately the conditions of the condo on arrival was terrible. There were live and dead bugs on the floor and in the sofabed, a dead gheko, dust and used tissue and garbage under the bed, sofa and behind the TV. The dishwasher was full from the last guest, there was only enough toilet paper for 4 days of our nine day visit, the ice cubes in the fridge freezer had mold. We were told all amenities were open yet the the pool, cabana and bbq was closed until the last 4 days.

If you are looking for a clean, as close to the water as you can get, no frills room, this is it! While it may not possess all of the over-the-top amenities of some of the larger, luxury hotels, it has what none of them do: UNMATCHED views and location. Just steps outside of your door, you can see both Lanai and Molokai; a friendly sea turtle playing in the surf; humpback whales (sooo many whales!!!); and the most amazing sunsets! This is the perfect pairing of location and practicality, and I cannot wait to return!

We had a great stay! Perfect location & we loved looking out at the Ocean sitting in bed! Very very clean, easy check-in, everything we needed. I enjoyed the clean hot tub right on property on a chillier night. Would definitely stay again!

The place was very well kept. Nice pool and surroundings. The view is fantastic! However, didn't like the balcony situation. Had to go out on the walkway to sunbath or to the pool. Swimming right off the property is not recommended. Lots of coral to rip you apart. Other than that, worth the price compared to some other locations.

We gave this property a “3” overall. Everything works ok but the unit is in great need of an update, most everything seems tired. Location is good but in order to access a beach you have a long way to walk around the building & parking. There is NO beach in front of the building.. We were on our 25th anniversary & expected the room would be a little nicer

My husband and I stayed here for just over a week. It was perfect. The unit was exactly as pictured, so there were no surprises. The property manager was very kind when we had questions. AC worked great, we left it off during the day to conserve energy and had no problems cooling the unit down in the evening.
Beach access from your back door and the owners had some beach supplies ready for use! I would recommend walking on the beach closest to your unit early in the morning to see all the sea urchins, and walk up or down the beach if you want to snorkel.
We would stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay here after not being in Maui for 30 years. It was the perfect place for us. Ground floor so we didn’t need to use an elevator. Just a few steps from parking and the wonderful beach. Low key without the crowds and walking distance to the food trucks and other amenities. Not perfect as a burner on the stove didn’t work or hood vent, blender cracked, no beach towels. We let the manager know before leaving so they could rectify, it wasn’t major to our stay. There was a fully decked out kitchen so eating in was easy. Just needed to shop for groceries. We will surely go back.

The location and view were great! However, everything was rusted over (understand its on the first floor, but perhaps a yearly paint over?), outdated and left me feeling...dirty? Luckily we were staying there temporarily before our other condo was available. But I would not have felt it was a luxurious honeymoon sleeping on that bed with antique bedding and what not. Could take the money from our our short trip to give that place a nice update.

Is excellent communication with the property owner, accessing the property via the keybox was exactly as described in the message ahead of time. The property is beautiful, it sits directly on an ocean with a with a ledge where you can look out and drink your morning coffee. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed And there were ample towels for the shower. I enjoyed this day at this place so much that the next time I am back on island I will inquire to see if this is available again. Thank you so much for offering such a wonderful property.

I absolutely loved my stay here. We stayed for six days and this property had everything we needed. I loved being on the first floor. This unit we could walk straight to our room and walk straight out of our sliding door in the back to the ocean or lay on the chairs outside like the ocean is your back yard. Most of the units here have to take an elevator to get down to the ocean. They provided all the basic necessities. It was nice having a microwave, stove/ oven and all things necessary to cook. The pool and Jacuzzi were nice as well although we spent most of our time out enjoying excursions and going to other beaches including Airport Beach which was a 10 minute Uber away. The a/c and wifi both worked great! There are restaurants, local food trucks and a grocery store within walking distance, 10-15 min walk. We rented a car also and enjoyed the hassle free parking in the lot. We would definitely stay here again.

Our favorite part about this property is definitely the easy access to a beach that has almost no people. This unit is particularly nice because it is on the bottom floor with back door access to the deck. I was worried about the windows being easy to see into from the outside, but they were actually very tinted. You could not really tell from the inside though. The owners also generously provide coolers, chairs, and an umbrella for you to use. This made chill beach afternoons extremely stress-free! There was an issue with a leak in the building while we were there, and it was accumulating in our bathroom. The on-site staff was extremely kind, responsive, and helpful in solving this issue. I highly recommend this place.

My fiancé and I booked our stay at the end of May 2021 at this property. It was perfect for our needs, and the location could not be beat. It is a ground floor condo, literally FEET from the ocean. We woke up each morning to an incredible view and the sound of the waves. There are food trucks and a grocery store within walking distance, and beach access from the back door. Communication from the property manager was excellent. The condo was clean and cozy. We didn't have any issues finding the property or checking in. I would highly recommend this location for anyone who wants to spend time on a beautiful part of the island with close access to amenities!

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon and we absolutely loved it here! The room was a perfect size for the 2 of us and had an amazing front view of the ocean, felt like we were on the water it’s so close!
However you can’t go to the beach straight out from you, we had to walk about 5 or 10 minutes in either direction to get to a nice beach. The condo is in walking distance from grocery stores, food trucks, restaurants, and a lot more!

This was our first VCBO, so we weren’t exactly sure what to expect. The location was nice & quiet! The pool area was lovely.
The beach area was being worked on while we were there & re-opened the day before we left. It looked to be a nice area, but we didn’t have a chance to use it.
We enjoyed the beach chairs & cooler that were in the unit for our use, when going to a near-by beach.
The bathroom is small & seemed to be, not quite completely finished.? (The floor tile next to the toilet & painting around the mirror. The brown paneling didn’t seem to go along with the decor of the nice tile floor/shower) When we were both getting around at the same time, one of us had to get around in the kitchen area, there was not room for 2 people in the bathroom.
Kitchen was very well equipped.
Would have loved a King size bed over the queen in the unit. (There was plenty of room to put a king size bed) Bed was a little more on the soft side than firm. Neither one of us slept the greatest, but we did love the sound of the ocean just outside our room!
We could have used some written direction in using the TV remote, but we were able to figure it out.
Rowena at the front desk was so pleasant, a real sweetheart!
The owner was easy to work with, via emails & prompt with corresponding.
There were just a couple small things that needed attention, but we just left a note for the cleaning company that was coming in after we left.
The area was beautiful! We loved driving to Lahaina & trying out fun eating places & shopping. We’ll have to save up ($) to go back again, but this was for our 30th anniversary, so it was a special trip. Until we meet again.....great time & sweet memories!

This is an old building but clean and well kept and you can't beat the view. It's a cosy bachelor suite, my wife and I had no problem staying 10 days, the one minor issue we had with a door was cleared up quickly. The bed was comfy, the kitchen had everything we needed and the WiFi was rock solid. We appreciated the beach chairs and the little cart for hauling our fins etc etc to the many beaches close by. There were boogie boards and snorkel gear to use. We liked the three stairs out our patio doors to the main deck. Errosion has washed out the beach surrounding the back deck there was really only beach access off the north end unless you were a goat. There are so many great spots for world class snorkeling very close to this centrally located complex it was a treat to head out each day to discover them. Grocery stores, farmers markets, restaurants, Snorkel Bob's, and retail stores very close by. Yes it's an older building but we were comfortable, we had a great time and didn't break the bank.

Our stay wasn't anything less than wonderful. The condo was fully stocked with all the household items and beach attire/activities beyond what we expected. There were nice beach chairs and an umbrella in which we used to our full advantage so that really was a nice surprise. The bed was pretty comfy too. Cleaning staff and property workers were so friendly and accommodating. The pool was the cleanest I have ever been in.
The only two things I will add that were mildly less than ideal is there were some tiny ants that were crawling around in the kitchen so we didn't use the stove/utensils. We were most excited about having the ocean access so close to us but there was construction (which the property owner did disclose) however, we were told by the property management that we were not allowed to step off our stairs.
Overall it was a pleasant experience and would highly recommend Maui Kai.

Condo was as exactly as described. It was clean when we arrived, the kitchen was well stocked with the essentials and we loved having the misc beach items available for use. The air conditioning was a bonus - we didn't need to use it often (the fresh Hawaiian breeze was enough) but when we did, it cooled off quickly. The absolute best thing about this condo was the spectacular ocean view! It's literally steps away from the ocean wall and beach. Every morning I sat out front with my coffee as I watched whales spout and admired the beautiful rainbows over the water. We watched several sunsets from the condo (which was amazing!!) and we LOVED being able to drift off to sleep every night listening to the crashing waves. Our week was super relaxing and exactly what we were looking for on our trip to Maui!

The condo was perfect.. had everything we needed, offered the best and most convenient access to the water, and private. Absolutely loved it and the staff were very kind and helpful. We didn't want to leave!! Will vacation here again in a heartbeat. Excellent spot for those who don't want to be in a big resort type setting. My husband and I just spent out 10th Anniversary here and it was exactly what we expected. We researched condos, read descriptions and reviews and we decided on this condo based on our research and so many positive reviews. It was clean, and perfect for two people. We were so close to the water, it almost felt like we were on a boat when we were inside and looking out the window. Having air conditioning was a huge bonus for us. I would have my morning coffee and watch the crabs crawl along the rocks against the sea wall and we would had dinner several evenings at the table overlooking the sunset against the ocean. The snorkel gear and beach chairs, umbrella and small cooler were all very handy. We really enjoyed our stay at this condo and would recommend it to anybody who wants to be, quite literally, on the water.

Can't beat this place. 10 feet from the sand on the main floor. Many sweet hospitality pieces make this place so much more than a hotel (Full kitchen, beach chairs, boogie boards). Sleeping with doors open listening to waves crash all night long and watching some of the most gorgeous sunsets in the world every night. We enjoyed walking the beach each day, had fun in the hot tub, swimming pool and paying ping pong. Comfortable bed. Great location on Maui - far enough to allow for tranquility and allowing you to feel that you were not in the busiest part of North Western Maui, yet close enough that a 10 minute drive has you right in the action of Lahaina. Would love to go back any day and stay here.

We truly enjoyed our stay. You can't beat walking out your back door to have an ocean 20 feet away! Turn to your right and there's a small secluded beach. Beautiful! I really appreciated the snorkeling gear, chairs and cooler! We used them all! This is an end unit, making it very quiet which I really appreciated. Everything was in good working order, and the pool wasn't ever crowded. We were just across the street from some fun eating establishments, inexpensive too expensive spas, and just down the road from the farmers market where we got fresh fruit and a beautiful view of the ocean. We enjoyed being between Lahaina, and Kapalua. It put us right in the middle of everything we wanted to do. Our hosts were quick to respond and readily available to answer questions. It's always nice to have such great service!
