This lovely Hanalei Bay vacation rental home, is a classic Hawaiian style pole house - suspended on poles and giving the house fabulous circulation from the cooling ocean breezes. The location and the views are unbeatable for a relaxing beach vacation. From nearly every room in the house you can see Kawaikini and the stunning Makana ridge (also known as Bali Ha'i), these mountains are often flowing with beautiful waterfalls and we have a bird's eye view of the third green of the Makai golf course.

This three bedroom villa is located walking distance to nearly everything you want to do in Hawaii - from surfing, snorkeling, golf, lovely walks and paddle boarding. - to the Princevill headland, which is less than 100 meters from the Villa. The fun and funky town of Hanalei is about a five minute drive from the villa (or a longish wade) from the Princeville headland public beach.

The famous Prince golf course is also less than 10 minute drive from the villa. The Prince is ranked as Golf Digest’s #1 Golf Course in Hawaii and one of America’s Top 100 Greatest Courses.

A designated parking place is only steps away from our front door, and free wifi is provided. Ask for the password after you have made your reservation.

Hike the Kalalau trail, snorkel Ke'e or Tunnels - you are only a short drive away! Hideaways, the best snorkeling on the island, in my opinion , is right across the road from our house, a five minute walk. Unsurpassed sunsets over Bali Ha'i may be enjoyed nightly from the ocean bluff just a three minute walk up the road.

This lovely villa has an open plan living room, dining area and kitchen with fabulous high vaulted ceilings and sliding glass doors leading out to a lanai - the perfect place for you to enjoy everything from your morning coffee to evening cocktails while you watch the sunset.

The living and dining room are very comfortable and there is a flat screen TV. There is also a DVD player and a stereo with radio and MP3 connections.

The kitchen has granite counter tops and is extremely well equipped, much more like a home than a vacation rental, and the dishes and glassware have an island touch - perfect for preparing great meals for friends and family. The whole of this upstairs area has dramatic views of Makana Ridge, Hanalei Bay and the Makana golf course. There is a half bath on this floor. You can enjoy both sunrise and sunsets from the home's two private lanais.

There are three bedrooms downstairs, all with high quality linens. The master bedroom has a California king bed, TV, ensuite master bathroom and a private lanai, with more of the same beautiful views of the bay, the Makai golf course and mountain waterfalls. The second bedroom has a queen bed and more beautiful views of the mountains, golf course and Hanalei Bay. The third bedroom has 2 twin beds, and just like the other bedrooms, it has beautiful views of the mountains and golf course. Bedroom 2 & 3 share a bathroom. The twin room has a chest of drawers for clothing, and shares a bath with the queen bedroom.

Island motif is felt throughout the home along with great circulation from all sides of the villa, which helps to catch the island breezes on those warm days and nights.

We had a great time staying at this property for our first of many trips to Kauai! The host was very responsive when we needed to alter our check out plans for convenience. What did we enjoy most? Location was ideal, walk to very nice beach, lots of windows for immaculate views, overlooks par 3 of local golf course, well equipped inside. Pizza at nearby Hanalei Bay Resort restaurant was good with amazing views. Short walk to Hanalei 1 hotel for good food/drink.

Quiet property with incredible mountain/golf views from the porch. Homeowner is really sweet and responsive and answered a bunch of our questions ahead of our trip, which we appreciated! There's no AC, but opening the windows for the afternoon breeze and fans in the bedrooms provided ample cooling during our July visit. An earlier review mentioned mosquitos but we had no issues (the windows are all screened). We enjoyed walking down to the Hotel 1 beach (paved walkway with steps and hand railings), but the hike down to Hideaway beach is not easy. I recommend checking out driving instructions for other areas you'd like to visit during your stay -- we didn't realize how long it would take to get down to Hanalei town/other beaches from this property. Not a problem for us, but we weren't expecting that and it means you'll need to plan your outings a bit to minimize driving. A few tips: Don't forget to grab everything you'll need to cook at home -- we ended up missing a few basics like cooking oil. The screen door to the main level porch doesn't slide in its track very well, but the glass sliding door can be used instead. Also, all the mattresses are quite soft and the bedrooms are downstairs, so if you have a guest with back issues or mobility issues this might not be the best pick.

Location, location, location! We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Kauai and the location of this unit. The view of the beautiful mountain was a highlight of each morning and evening. Hideaways beach is within walking distance and had the best snorkeling on the island. We spent most of our time there and loved the private, low key feel of Hideaways. The unit could use a deep cleaning and a coat of paint, but we honestly didn’t spend a whole lot of time in the unit since we were lucky enough to have perfect weather the whole week we were there.

I stayed here with my family (3 teens) in June and the location was fantastic. We had a few maintenance issues that we had to live with for a couple days until they could be fixed (handle fell off kitchen faucet, toilet flush handle broke, and living room TV had to be replaced). That was unfortunate. Villa only had 1 bath towel for each person and 1 packet of laundry detergent. This unit needs a deep cleaning, touch up paint, new mattresses and pillows, and extra linens.

The online pictures of the view do not do it justice. I may have overlooked it on the website, but was amazed to discover that we were a very short walk to the "1 Hotel". Unbelievable. We really enjoyed checking it out; beach, bar, coffee bar, etc. The house was fantastic. Coming from Texas we had concerns about no A.C., but it was a non-issue. Highly Recommend.

We enjoyed the villa for a change of pace. We usually stay ocean side and view the waters. I do prefer listening to the ocean. The golf course had some noise with sprinklers and birds. Overall, the villa was awesome and spacious.

Villa was perfect accommodations for our family of 6. Location is outstanding with great views of the mountains beyond hanalei from the back and Hideaways beach is steps from the front door. We are partial to the North shore and you can get everywhere easily from this location. Having beach chairs provided and a very short (but steep) walk to hideaways was the best part—along with amazing views from the villa. Kitchen was well equipped, ocean breezes moving through the villa kept it comfortable the whole time. We enjoyed our stay here very much and would stay again.

We all loved our stay at the rental. The location was fabulous. Close to a couple of beaches right out the door. Clean. Comfortable beds and pillows. Incredible mountain views! Quiet. Boogie boards and beach chairs. A couple of negatives: not overly stocked in the kitchen ( one roll of paper towels, no sugar, 3 coffee filters, had to buy our own laundry detergent). The furniture is not the most comfortable to relax in at night but we certainly managed. If we ever came back to Princeville we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Thanks for sharing your home with us. Mahalo.

A very beautiful place. Magnificent view from the window. The house is equipped with everything necessary. It's close to the beach, but you need to go down and walk up the stairs. There were significant shortcomings. Firstly, we moved into the house without cleaning and I couldn’t reach anyone for several hours. After the long flight, tired, we were forced to resolve the issue of cleaning. This greatly spoiled the first impression of the vacation. Then the cleaners came, but it was inconvenient because we had already brought all our things. Further. The washer did not work during the entire period of our stay there, which in itself was extremely inconvenient. The owner promised a compensation of $200 for this, but never sent a refund. The house is full of ants. I understand that this is a tropical island and they live there too. However, in Maui or Oahu we did not have such problems in our houses. Possibly because the owner processed the property

It’s a great location and has a beautiful view from the patio overlooking the golf course. The only downside was that quite a few of the screens on the windows had tears in them so the mosquitoes would come with a vengeance at night and my family was covered in bug bites every morning. Because there’s no AC and it can feel muggy in the evenings during the summer, we relied on the cross breeze to keep the house comfortable. The agency said they were planning on fixing all the torn screens when we left, so hopefully they did. Other than that, it was great.

Absolutely gorgeous views from this Princeville VRBO! Enough room for 6 adults. We cooked several meals and had all the pots, pans, utensils and plates, glasses we needed! There is no AC, we did pick up a couple fans. Being from the south I was concerned that the no AC would be a problem, it was not! Stayed in January but temps definitely get into the 70’s. Plenty of breeze and was glad to have the extra blankets provided at night. Only one day was it a little warm. But we were out exploring during most days. U enter the home..(kitchen and living room upstairs,)on a flat walkway from the parking lot, nice to have a reserved spot for your vehicle. Then u go down stairs for the bedrooms. We loved having 6 Tommy Bahama chairs provided to take to the beach , 2 umbrellas and two boogie boards! And 6 beach towels! The washer was out, I knew that prior to arrival. The property manager was so kind and brought us clean towels! The dryer works good! We were able to rinse swimsuits and be ready for the next day! Seriously amazing views of the mountains! We saw waterfalls and rainbows often! Mornings enjoying coffee from the balcony was wonderful! Hanalei bay was a short drive away for sightseeing and local shops. Foodland grocery store is maybe a mile away, at the entry of princeville community. Several restaurants in nearby hotels, wiki pizza and happy talk lounge are in a nearby hotel with amazing views of the ocean! I would definitely stay at this Vrbo again! And this area

Amazing stay at the villa for my 3 step kids in their 20s and 15 year old son. Location was perfect - beautiful views and right across the street from beautiful Hideaways Beach. Rooster wake up calls were included! For us - villa was perfect - plenty of room for us and loved the Hawaiian flavor!

Everything was perfect!! Thoroughly enjoyed our week in this little gem of a rental! The views are spectacular! The location is so ideal, across the road from the beautiful 1 Hotel and a perfect beach to lounge at. A 5 min. walk to hide-away beach which is ideal for snorkeling. The kitchen has everything you'll need to prepare meals. The addition of beach chairs, sun umbrellas and a cooler were a nice perk. The owner was extremely kind and easy to communicate with. We hope to return with our family soon!!

We had an amazing time at this house. Everything was exactly as listed in the description. The house is situated in a great spot on the North Shore, which was our base camp for all sorts of great hiking all over the island. Our family of four had plenty of room and hot water, and all the appliances worked great. The washer dryer was a definite plus, and the kitchen had everything, and more, that you would need to cook meals. The house was stocked with boogie boards, chairs, umbrella and cooler, which made beach days at Hanalei beach fantastic. The owner was super responsive to questions, and had some great suggestions on hikes and local attractions. The house is right across the street from an amazing beach, and both kids learned to surf on the East side of Hanalei beach next to the pier. Shout out to Hanalei Surf shop for the board rental and ideas on where to go to learn. The owner recommended picking up a copy of The ultimate Kauai Guidebook by Andrew Doughy, and it was a great find. We also bought his island audio tour which provided a pretty great self guided tour. The only downside to the house was no ac, which didn't matter for most of the trip, but the last two hot and humid days with no breeze was pretty warm. Also, our biggest negative surprise with the North Shore was how expensive and how bad the restaurants were- $150-200 a night for dinners for four that were 2 star. We only tried 3 places but still. Poke bowls at Foodland and home cooking saved the day however.

We really enjoyed this house in Princeville. It’s a perfect location with great views and close to everything on the North Shore. The house is showing its age and could use some updates, but is still quite nice. The property managers were wonderful about responding to any questions or concerns. We would definitely stay here again.,

The setting is amazing! My husband and I spent hours just sitting on the back deck enjoying the view! The beach just across the street had some of the best snorkeling we found on the island. And, it's convenient to Princeville and Hanalei. The only very small negative - I didn't find the washer/dryer to work very well, especially the dryer. I could not get the towels dry. I would definitely stay here again!

The view of this property is outstanding!!! Location was excellent! Owner/property manager easy to communicate with. House could use a little updating-especially in bathrooms but very usable with everything you need. Would definitely stay here again.

I booked this property primarily for the views and the location, and do not doubt, they are absolutely STELLAR! I could have happily spent my whole vacation sitting on the lanai, just looking. My daughter who is incredibly hard to impress literally had her mouth drop open at the ‘insanely sick’ vistas. Her words - and I think it means good, right?! Hideaways beach across the street is an absolutely picture perfect spot. Pu’u Poa beach next to 1Hotel is also fantastic - and the hotel itself has a stunning terrace for breakfast, morning coffee or drinks. I ran alongside the golf course a few times - very safe and scenic (gentle uphill gradient on the way out, and then downhill all the way home as you run towards that amazing ocean view). The property itself is a little dated but we found it well appointed and clean, with everything in good condition. Did not miss air conditioning at all - left the windows open and made the most of the cross-breezes. Would highly recommend this rental!

The property’s biggest asset is the view and access to two beautiful beaches in walking distance. Beds were comfortable. Everything was in working order.

Lynda was absolutely fabulous and a great communicator! The place accommodated 5 of us well but had its quarks. The cleaners could pay more attention to detail removing dust , dirt , replacing stained towels ect. The clothing racks in the queen BR were covered in mold and could definitely be replaced. Some basic upgrades would be helpful IMO. The dryer barely works, we ended up just hanging our our clothes to dry . We weren’t expecting a resort kinda vibe but definitely was. Many identical condos peppered along the beautiful landscape. If that’s your jamz, than this is your place! We loved the walkable beach behind the luxury hotel across the street. Take the hidden trail on the NE corner of the parking lot down to the secret beach! Lynda was great, Kauai is amazing! Go to the botanical gardens !

Great location , beautiful views. This was our second year in this Villa and we enjoyed it just as much as the first year. Princeville has everything close at hand to make it a relaxing and safe vacation. The property management responded within hours to a request. All in all a five star stay.

December 2022
My 11th time vacationing on Kauai over the years, and this was by far the best place I've stayed! Waking up to the magnificent views each morning, just started the day on a high note. The villa was terrific: beds very, very comfortable, kitchen had all we needed and then some; beach chairs and and umbrella waiting in the closet for our use, too! Parking in the one space was so easy and a quick walkout from the front door. A beautiful, quick walk to the northshore bluff overlook was the icing on the cake. Very quiet location, albeit neighbor's conversations can be overheard (it's Princevillle, everything is a little close together), but genuinely quiet and peaceful.

Best place to rent on VRBO ! So comfortable with awesome views! Great location across the street from Hideaways yet a close drive to Hanalei Bay ! We love having a hose outside too wash off after our beach excursions! Our 3rd time here and especially loved the new couch cushions ! A good time was had by all! Thankyou so much !!! We just returned from our week stay in Kauai at this property, and we were absolutely thrilled with our VRBO. Now that I look back at the pictures from the listing, I see, but in person is 100 times better! The views of the Napoli mountains, your own private little nature preserve/rainforest, and the golf course all out the back window. Out the front, literally across the street and up 50 yards are cliff views of the ocean for our daily morning walks was amazing. Kitchen well stocked, nice to have boogie boards and a beach umbrella available, beach chair, and cooler for lunches. Can;t think of anything I'd change. Thank you for opening up your rental to us! Hope to be back to this exact spot again!

We loved the view of the bay and the Napali cliffs. This property is in a beautiful area with walking access to 2 very desirable beaches. Located right in Princeville, the surroundings are breathtaking. The home is a single unit with beautiful grounds, is comfortable andi we enjoyed our stay very much.

When we arrived the property had not been cleaned. Dirty sheets and towels on the floor. Had to stay at another property first night which was comped by the management Company. I should add after multiple calls. Moved luggage in & out, in & out of new place, that was of a lower caliber, and out & in to the original. VERY INCONVENIENT.

We loved the location of this property. Hideaway Beach is very close. It has the best snorkeling that we were able to find. Lots of turtles and beautiful fish. Way better than Tunnels. Lots of shade too. Puu Poa Beach and Queens Bath are both within walking distance too. The views from the house were magnificent. We could see waterfalls in the distance. We'd stay here again in the future. My wife was happy with the kitchen and we were able to eat at home easily. We saved a lot of money buying food at Costco and eating at home. There are restaurants nearby if that is your pleasure.

June 2022
Perfect place for our trip. View of the mountains and the bay from the back deck was magic. Saw 45+ minute long rainbows almost every morning while eating breakfast, some of which were double rainbows. Place was comfortable, clean, super convenient, and has kitchen that's better equipped than your typical VRBO. Less than 5 minute walk to Hideaways was a bonus, as that was our overall favorite beach of the trip due to availability of shade, good snorkling (saw massive turtles!) and views down the coast. Would stay here again for sure.

This house was a fantastic place to stay while enjoying Kauai. The view from the both decks was the highlight. We spent as much time out there as possible. You can see the beautiful mountains and Hanalei Bay plus lush trees and flowers in the gardens below. The house was clean and well appointed. We cooked several meals and enjoyed our breakfasts each morning on the deck. We walked all over the area finding the Hideaway and Puu Poa beaches plus we hiked to watch divers in the Queens Bath. Since the road dead ends not far from the house, it was a wonderful sanctuary. Because of the renovation of the old St. Regis resort near the house, we did experience construction noise during the day, but that wasn't a big deal since we had adventures around the island during the daytime. The roosters were vocal in the early morning hours, but that is all over the island so no matter you stay this will happen (we had earplugs and noise cancelling headphones). The house had a closet full of beach accessories which was a nice surprise. We found beach chairs, 2 snorkeling sets, water shoes, boogie boards and suntan lotions etc. We drove 1.5 hours to south side of island for a hard shell Zodiac raft excursion with Blue Ocean Adventures, which we highly recommend. Also we had passes to hike into the Haena State Park and caught the shuttle in Waipa. We spent the day hiking to Hanakapi'ai Falls which was around 9 miles out and back trail. Took the adults 6.5 hours and the kids about 4. We swam at the falls. Totally recommend this hike if you are physically fit and ok with water crossings. Honestly, it was harder than we all expected, but so glad we did it. Only recommendations I have for the house is to provide hot pads in the kitchen and roll down shades for the upper deck would be nice to block sun and for privacy if desired. We could see our neighbors to the right and that's kind of awkward. We hope to come back some day to stay longer than a week. Thank you to the home owners for sharing their piece of paradise.

March 2022
We had a wonderful time staying here. It is just a short walk down to the beach, is very spacious inside with plenty of room for family and a well-appointed kitchen, and a perfect view of the bay and mountains from the lanai. We have stayed in two of these units now and both have been a great experience.

Karen W.
March 2022
This property was amazing! The house was very clean and was in a great location for us. But make sure to get some ear plugs because the roosters are very vocally active all day and night. Also ample kitchen supplies and laundry machines were so helpful during our trip! Check in and out were a breeze! We would definitely stay here again for our next trip!

Jennifer B.
March 2022
This place was perfect for our 2 families! We brought a blow up mattress because we had 7 people and Lynda was very kind and understanding about the extra person. The property managers were responsive and helpful in getting us extra linens and a blanket. We were bummed there wasn't a grill at the place or on the property but the kitchen is well stocked so cooking whatever we wanted was never a problem. The deck views are amazing any time of the day but the best part is the access to Hideaway beach!! We visitted many beaches and quickly learned that the best sand, sun, shade and snorkeling were right across the street from us!! We would come back here in a heartbeat!

March 2022
Nice clean place in a great location. Across the street from hideaway beach for which there is very little parking. Near the St Regis which is undergoing major construction but you can still walk down past the property to their beach and across to Hanalei Beach. Everything was well set up.

We loved the location of this property! Perfect size for our family of 5. We could walk to two small beaches and to Queens Bath. A quick drive to Hanalei Bay which was our favorite beach!

March 2022
This rental did not disappoint! It was the perfect space and the kitchen had a ton to work with when we cooked at home. The views from the balcony were to die for…what a paradise! Host was quick respond and helped facilitate getting my dress back to me after I left it behind. No hesitation in recommending this property. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home!

February 2022
We really enjoyed staying here! It was really well stocked with everything we needed. The beach umbrella, chairs, and cooler were so nice to use! The unit didn’t have a/c, but the fans were enough for us to stay cool at night. Our only recommendation would be to bring earplugs because the roosters would crow during the night. We walked to the beach across the street and it was amazing for snorkeling! Great location and beautiful views from the balconies.

We're active outdoorsy types and this stilted abode worked great for us. Pro's: Location -- Walkable to 2 beaches (both are climbs with one being steps and the other being dirt and ropes), plus Hideaways pizza. Views -- The amazing Halelea Forest Reserve peaks and cliffs and just above a stunning canopy (upper deck) to see Hanalei Beach. Value -- Just enough amenities and space to accommodate a family of up to 6 without paying some of the exorbitant Princeville prices. Other (not con's, but things to note): The roosters have taken over the island ;+) so be prepared for crowing at all nighttime hours -- earplugs, white noise, etc. is your friend. These hut-looking bungalows is cute as heck from the outside. The inside of this house seems to be mostly original to when it was built in mid '70s (aside from new flooring), so very functional, but none of the updated touches in the kitchen or bath if that matters to you. These were some bug remnants on the upper walls and and an annoying screen door that wouldn't stay on track, but these are minor when you consider the location and value. We left behind some newly purchased boogie boards and snorkel sets, so hopefully the next occupants will pay that forward.

Got charged $625 for a “clogged toilet”?? And our we had to use a pillow case to clean up our child while she had a urine accident so the pillow case was with urine? Arrived late due to c Cancelled flight the check in evening and the lights to the signs for the house numbers were not visible… called the owner and left a message and never heard from them the entire stay? It’s amazing how dramatic these owners got over a clogged toilet and using a pillow case to clean up a child urine… the lanaguage used suggests an overly dramatic owner who charges $625 for what we described. We have rented nationally and internationally maybe 150x’s and this experience with non-responsive and histrionic owners (dramatic exaggeration in review and “damages” was perplexing. We ended up asking a passerby local jogger to help us find the unit… late at night.

Only the best things to say about our week here! Everything was excellent from start to finish. Easy communication with owners. Clean, comfortable and well appointed home. Spectacular beaches within walking distance, gorgeous views from the deck, enjoyed looking at the stars and listening to the surf. Close to excellent food and hiking and more beaches.

We loved waking up to this view every morning! We were there over Thanksgiving week, and the trade winds kept the house nice and cool. Having Hideaways Beach across the street (a steep hike down the cliff, but to our kids it was an adventure) was great, and the grocery store and playground were conveniently close.

September 2021
Wonderful wonderful wonderful! An unbelievably beautiful view, a great house, and a unique opportunity to be across the street from Hideaways — one of the most beautiful beaches and snorkeling spots I've ever been, and very hard to get to if you're not staying right there because its parking lot has only 8 spots.

September 2021
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. Everything was super clean and as advertised. The proximity to Hideaway beach which we enjoyed for a couple snorkel sessions was amazing. The view from the lanai was stunning. The only thing that could have been better was to have a bbq- otherwise we’d definitely stay here again and again!

August 2021
This Villa is in such a great location! Beautiful view of the golf course and Hanalei Bay. We loved being able to walk across the street to Hideway Beach (our favorite beach), close to Queen’s Bath and easy to get to Hanalei. We also loved going for walks on the path. Wifi wasn’t working when we arrived, but property management was very prompt about fixing it.

The views and the location are the best in Princeville! I chose this rental for its location and it did NOT disappoint! Down at the end of the road, we had easy access to Hideaway Beach, which has unbeatable clarity for snorkeling during calm weather. If you are able, the trek down to the beach is absolutely worthwhile, just make sure your shoes have good grip and hold on to the rope! If that sort of trek isn’t your thing, we also had walking distance to Pu’u Poa Beach which had paved steps going down to another lovely beach. The views. I cannot believe the beauty we had out of every window! The Lanai faces the mountains and part of Hanalei Bay. Incredible to look at during any time of day, and we saw rainbows every single day. The space. The house was clean and had great amenities! We loved the bench at the door for removing and storing shoes so we didn’t track sand and mud through the house. There is no AC, but once you open up the shutters, the wind passes through the house and it’s quite comfortable. This does mean hearing birds/roosters/chickens/cats at early hours of the morning, but don’t let that disturb you. The beds were not at all firm, but still comfortable. Overall a fantastic stay! It has ruined every other location for me, because where else can I get these views and easy access to Hideaway Beach? I completely recommend this rental house. Thank you for sharing your space with us!

July 2021
We loved our stay at the condo! It is a family owned condo and is not 'brand new' so keep your expectations realistic in that sense. It is a little dated, but clean and very functional/enjoyable. If you've never been to Kauai, just a heads up, there is a lot of bird activity and this is a very lush and bird populated part of the island so there are a lot of bird calls and chickens! We loved it, the views, and had cardinals and other sweet birds visit the rail of the deck daily. Just a short adventurous hike to Hideaway beach for world class snorkeling. It was clean and furnishings are simple but just right. We will be back, Thank you!

July 2021
Location at the end of the road was perfect, walk to two different beaches and the view from the lanai was constantly amazing and ever changing against the high Hawaiian mountains and Hanalei Bay. Trade wind breezes kept the home refreshing and the separate levels for bedrooms and living made the space comfortably accommodating.

June 2021
This is a lovely villa in a fantastic location, with beautiful views, and situated in such a way to benefit from the trade winds. The owner and management company communicated well and made access easy and smooth. The only reason I didn’t give this place a five is that it needs a little maintenance (eg, broken dryer, broken toilet seat) and the furniture was a bit old and worn. All in all, still quite comfortable and very lovely.

We were two families staying in Lynda's place and it worked really well. The house is comfortable and has everything you need with breathtaking views to wake up to every morning. The location is great as you can walk 5 mins to a beautiful beach by the hotel or 5 mins the other way to a secluded beach perfect for the kids. Our husbands are surfers so it was a great spot close to all the surf beaches. We would definitely recommend this house to our friends and will hopefully be back very soon! Thank you to Lynda for sharing your home with us!

We absolutely loved staying here. The house, the views, the location was perfect. The house is equipped with everything you may need. It is clean and comfortable and charming. Lynda was always available for questions and got back to me quickly. I really appreciate that when I'm renting a place. We hope to make this our Kauai vacation home!! Sheri Gross and family

Of course we have to start with the view from the deck: outside breakfasts and dinners with views of waterfalls or rainbows over sailboats or high-contrast panoramas of the dissected volcano, all depending on the whims of the weather. The villa is spacious and easy to live in for two couples with well-equipped kitchen. Having an independent house is such a relief compared to sharing walls or ceilings with others in condos or apartments (because we always end up next to the weird renters when we stay in condos). The pole house gives you a view down on the jungle top, and you start to recognize individual birds from day to day, perhaps even addressing them by name. Nearby beaches within walking distance range from easy swimming at the beach at the St. Regis (where, if you get in trouble in the water, you can signal the waitress and have a life-saving mai tai in no time) to the somewhat more adventurous Queen's Bath. Too many great beaches to list within a few minutes drive mean you don't need to deal with the ever-worsening traffic on Kuhio Highway. The house is well-equipped and comfortable; unfortunately, we weren't ambitious enough to take advantage of some of the beach toys that come with it. Hanalei is quite close by, and depending on your experience and mood is either a tourist trap or a rural Hawaiian village with character - that's up to you. If you want to explore the interior of the island a day trip to Waimea Canyon and Koke'e State Parks gives you plenty of time for some hiking and trying to figure out the complexities of how a volcano grows (buy Chuck Blay's book "Kauai's Geologic History" at the bookstore in the Koke'e Museum - I think you'll prefer the two-volcano hypothesis). Since you are on that side of the island, have dinner on the deck of Kalapaki Joe's at Waimea Plantation. They have the best loco moco supreme in Hawaii (i.e., in the world) and great live Hawaiian music on some nights in the bar. But back to rental 142717: it's just what you need for anything from a relaxed lazy vacation to an ambitious exploration of the island. We'll be back.

What a fabulous week we had! Great views, comfortable house - kudos on comfort of king bed in master! We were there during a very warm spell - a little bit of AC could have helped w/humidity & heat, but truly not a problem. LOVED this place & really did not want to leave.

This condo offers gorgeous views of the beach and the waterfalls, when there's water flowing. For golfers, its proximity to golf courses would be beneficial, but we don't play. The condo is comfortable, furnished adequately to be comfortable for six people, with minor inconveniences. The kitchen wasn't well stocked, according to our needs (could have used some spices, kitchen shears, additional serving dishes). The grill wasn't usable (didn't heat adequately) so we weren't able to grill as planned, which was a bit disappointing. The appliances are old and quirky--it took a few tries to figure out how the oven worked and the ice came out crushed, even when you tried to get cubed. We had a good vacation and were comfortable in the condo. If I return to Kauai, I'll stay on the East Side or South Side where it seems to be drier and there are more restaurants and services.

We have been coming to Hanalei for 35 years and have seen it all. This home really is a perfect balance of all Princeville/Hanalei has to offer and has literally the most spectacular view of any place we have stayed. You are located in the heart of Princeville with easy beach access and reserved parking. Great proximity to golfing, hiking, whale watching, restaurants, grocery store, shopping and only a 10 minute drive to Hanalei. The home itself is clean and well kept with all the expected amenities in good working order (appliances, TV, DVD, wifi, etc.) you can really tell the owners are conscientious and have taken good care of the place as these units were built some time ago. The owners were also promptly responsive and were very helpful with our needs. We also really appreciated some of the unexpected little extras like beach chairs, beach towels, boogie boards, etc. In summary, this home is very well priced and exceeded our expectations, has a truly remarkable view and we will not hesitate to return here on our next trip to Hanalei. We just hope it's available.

My girls and I stayed at Villa for almost two weeks over Thanksgiving and the home had everything we needed and more!! The best part was this house is it is free standing!!! No sharing walls, windows all around with views everywhere!! This house is a pole house that you walk into the top story with the back of the house being two stories plus up, giving you the best views from the living room and master bedroom. You are above all the trees, believe me, the pictures don't give the house and views justice !! The kitchen was very well set up for all our cooking needs. We stayed in and cook almost every night, we even made a Thanksgiving feast!! :) We enjoyed sunrises and sunsets from the private deck and the St. Regis bluff, a very short walk away. The home also had beach chairs, snorkel equipment, boogie boards and other fun toys for us to use. Well stocked home for a great vacation. The views from the decks are amazing! It only rained on the last two days of our two week stay, but the rain brought out rainbows and the waterfalls. The girls counted 27 of them from the deck. Again, it is amazing to watch these mountains, very hard to leave the view!! Bonus, you can also see this view from the master bed! :) Thank you for sharing this beautiful home with us. Hope to be back next year.

I stayed here with a group of 5 adults for about a week. We had a wonderful visit - it was clean and comfortable, which I consider the two most important aspects of any vacation/hotel rental. Management was very easy to get in touch with - if we had any issues, we left a voice mail with the management company or sent an e-mail, and we received feedback quickly. There are excellent hiking and guidebooks in the house, and all the towels (regular towels and beach towels) you need. The washer and dryer worked very well, and the kitchen supplies were well stocked so we could cook our own meals, which we did about half of the time. Parking - we had 3 cars, which I do not think is the norm for this villa, and our first night wondered how we would park all of them in the small parking lot - so we called the management company. They quickly returned our call and informed us that we could park in the spots marked "permit" even though we did not have a permit, and told us the parking spots that would be free on specific days to accommodate all of our vehicles. This worked well for us. The view was incredible. Again - it was very clean and very comfortable. Of course, there were the loud roosters that wander all over the area, but if you close all your windows at night it helps a lot, and allowed us to sleep (and the room did not get too hot with the windows closed). The house is not air conditioned, but there are fans in every room, which keeps the temperature very comfortable. I am a huge fan of air conditioning, as is my husband, but we were very comfortable in this house - just open up the windows during the day, and run the fans in the evening with the windows open. I'd recommend this house to anyone - I was blown away by the amazing attentiveness of the management of this property, and had a wonderful, stress-free stay at this Villa. Thank you!!!

We really enjoyed our time in Hanalei Bay Villa. It was a bit of a deja vu since this condo was previously owned by our relatives. Everything felt the same as it was 14 years ago! Very well appointed villa for comfort and cooking. Nice to have the beach chairs and towels. Bath towels and linens are great, all beds very comfortable. We could not have been happier for this extremely good price. Am sure it will go up after a remodel! Mahalo!

The house was clean, sizable and very private. The sits on the edge of a golf course looking down on everyone else so there is a lot of freedom to walk around in less then full attire. It has a gorgeous view right out the back patio of the mountains with waterfalls with little gnat helicopters buzzing around it. The rain comes and goes in and out of the sun and it is so pleasant to be able to walk in the rain in total comfort. I enjoyed getting up early and going for a run down the road to the golf course. The best snorkeling on the island is the beach right across the street and since its such a steep climb there are not that many people there except the local surfers.

Note: Vacancy calendar is approximate. Visit the owner/manager's reservation site to verify your dates.
