Can't beat this spot. Wrap around Lanai for sunrise and sunsets. Quiet location. Many walkable Points of Interest. The condo was clean and had amazing amenities. It felt remote and connected to nature, but close to everythong at the same time. It truly is a Slice of Paradise. Evelyn was an amazing host.

Highly recommend the property, Evelyn’s slice of paradise is just as described. I loved the panoramic views from almost every room except the bathrooms. The one thing I did notice which the owner can’t control; the upstairs neighbor watches tv quite loud and smokes cigarettes. So if you’re sensitive to smoke you wouldn’t be able to leave the lanai door or the bedroom windows open.
There is everything you need in the unit. Boogie boards, wet suits, water shoes, snorkel equipment, chairs, umbrellas, straw hats, shopping bags. There are also things for kids - puzzles, toys.
We brought our own gear and toys/books so we were all set, but it was nice to know that the unit was fully stocked. Love the attention to detail!

We had a great time in Kauai. The condo is in a prime location overlooking the ocean. The ocean breeze keeps the unit cool and the sound of the waves lulls us to sleep at night. The condo is in great shape and very clean.

This is one of the best ocean side rentals ever. The location is superb and the flat was furnished to make the stay easy and enjoyable. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. We could see the sunrise and sunset, punctuated by albatross fly by's and white tailed tropic birds. Would return in a heartbeat.

We started and ended every day sitting out on the deck watching the waves and spotting the whales. In between those times, we enjoyed several beaches in the area and took a daily hike also in the area. It was a very low key week and exactly what we wanted and needed before heading back to real life. Thank you for sharing your slice of paradise!!

Nothing fancy but has everything you need and the view is incredible! Even a rainy day is nice because you can sit and read or work on a puzzle and just watch the ocean waves roll in and...... then there are the rainbows! When you are out and about for the day it is a wonderful relaxing place to land at the end of the day. Lots of beaches, nice grocery store, shops and restaurants in Princeville and Hanalei. Truly a home away from home.

This property was wonderful! Evelyn has made it like home. Very comfy! Had everything we needed, including beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, pool noodles- everything you need for the beach. There is a game closet, but we were so busy staring out at the million dollar views that we didnt have time to play! We have been around the world and have never had a view like this! Sunrises and sunsets were amazing from the wraparound deck and from part way down the trail out front. We can't wait to come back and stay here!

We stayed a week and loved every minute. We arrived at night and Evelyn called the next morning to make sure we arrived ok. There was not a thing we needed. Everything is as described. The trade winds are so refreshing! No AC needed! Sunrises and sunsets are spectacular. Princeville is a great location for exploring the North Coast. We would definitely stay again.

Incomparable views in a comfortable homey setting. It doesn't get much better than this. We spent 3 weeks in this lovely unit and loved every minute. It has a wonderfully equipped kitchen and bright bedrooms and baths. We spotted whales multiple times a day (in March) and even a pod of dolphins one day. We loved taking long walks around the area and took advantage of the pool and available barbecue grill.
Communication with our host was excellent. We highly recommend this property for anyone who wants to enjoy the true beauty of Hawaii and hope to return in the future.

Ellen’s hale is a most relaxing respite from a day of Garden Island touring. The ocean view from every room is amazing. If you are fortunate enough to find this property vacant, take the leap. This property is one of the best that we have rented through VRBO. The specific unit is right on the edge of the cliffs and affords amazing views of sunrise from anywhere in the condo or on the porch. I would rent this property again for sure.
We were only two people so the space was much more than we needed (two beds two baths). Kitchen was well stocked with all the necessities, not always the case with VRBO rentals. Unity was super-clean and the beds were great.
No hesitation on the 5 out of 5 star rating here.

We especially appreciated the beach gear: coolers, towels, chairs, umbrella, boards, snorkeling gear! Evelyn supplied the place with all sorts of extras: games, bookd (I really liked the coffee table book with photos/history of the island.). And the views from the main room and bedrooms was fantastic!.. Strongly recommend this rental!

Evelyn’s place was a great home for our 10 days on Kauai. We decided this property had absolutely the BEST views of any of our worldwide travels. Very nicely stocked kitchen and beach gear. Nothing like waking up in the middle of the night and looking out the bedroom window and seeing stars so bright and close you can pluck them from the heavens. We hope to stay here again!

This condo has everything you will need with an unbeatable view! The sunsets and sunrises are breathtaking and you can view them right from the porch. There is a beautiful beach within walking distance and many more just a short drive away. Lovely shops and restaurants in nearby towns as well. What a perfect place to spend a family vacation. The condo had everything we needed and more, (beach chairs, backpacks snorkeling fins, umbrellas and even some water shoes that fit. Great and easy communication with the host when we needed something simple like a new can opener. As was the case a year ago, Evelyn’s condo located on the north shore cliffs in Princeville was once again a spectacular experience. Grandma and I were treating our youngest granddaughter to the Kauai adventure. In addition to the fabulous view from this first floor corner unit we had a direct sight of every mornings sunrise as well as the sunsets each evening. Anything that a person could possibly need is made available in the condo. We highly recommend this property. It books up more than a year in advance so plan well in advance.

When I was looking for a property to stay at during our first trip to Hawaii since the "before times," I wanted a home away from home where we could enjoy our vacation even when sitting in the living room or while making dinner. Evelyn's property exceeded all expectations (and my expectations were high).
The unit is literally steps from a cliff. Views from all rooms (except the bathrooms) included magnificent vistas of the ocean waves meeting the beach. King sized bed in the master bedroom was exactly what I was looking for. Kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans so we could cook meals. And when we were done, dishes went into the dishwasher.
Grocery store and restaurants were a mere five minute drive away. And, two farmers' markets were just ten minutes away at most.

Evelyn was a wonderful host came to the condo to check and see if we needed anything. The view was so amazing! In the morning we had coffee on the balcony watching the sunrise and ocean and listening to the waves and in the evening watching the moon rise and glistening over the water. You have the ocean view from every window. Rainbows every day! The condo was super clean and had every thing you needed. My daughter and I enjoyed our stay in paradise. This was our first visit to Kauai, and this condo made it 100% perfect. We were originally booked in a condo in a different resort near Lihue, but due to poor communication from that property I ended up looking for a different condo to stay at and came across this one. After issues being able to get in touch with the previous property, I was absolutely thrilled to receive an immediate response from the owner of this one. The photos were spectacular, and the listing very clearly shows you exactly what you will be getting, the only exception being that the condo looked even better in person! I was scrambling to find a new place for my family to stay 30 days before our trip, so boy did I luck out snagging this one so close to our trip. There is a reason this books up fast, so if you have the opportunity to book this condo for your vacation I 1000% recommend that your do, don't hesitate! It's a 1st floor unit but that in no way whatsoever impedes on the view. There is a steep drop off of the vegetation in front of the condo so there is absolutely nothing blocking your view of the ocean, and man that view is incredible! The resort is incredibly quiet and peaceful, and the location is tucked away from all the hustle and bustle of the nearby towns. There is a pool if you aren't interested in swimming in the ocean, or if you just need a calm quiet place to swim. Overall, my family and I loved the condo, the view, and the location, and the communication with the owner Evelyn was excellent! Hoping we can return again in the future. Mahalo, Evelyn!

The views, including views of the sunset and sunrise, constant ocean breeze and great natural ventilation, sound of the ocean, privacy because a corner unit, windows that open everywhere…. The location is amazing. Some of the best snorkeling we went to was near the property. The trailhead to turtle cave is right out the front door. You won’t regret selecting this unit.

A slice of paradise indeed. Experienced the most amazing trade-winds and ocean front views of the sunrise and sunset which served as a reminder that everyday is a blessing. The place is as good as advertised in terms of great location, cleanliness, and resort amenities. We enjoyed adventures at the farmers market in Hanalei, zip line in Princeville, hiking along Na Pali Coast and Waimea Canyon, and nearby beach spots at turtle cove, queens bath, and Regis hotel. Evelyn provides the best customer service, very responsive and keeps the place on point. So thank you for a wonderful memorable journey and for sharing a slice of paradise.

Evelyn's condo is truly magnificent! I did a lot of research on VRBO locations on Kauai before picking Evelyn's place and I'm glad I did. It is immaculate, spacious, has a washer/dryer, had everything we needed in the kitchen AND the views are breathtaking. If you are looking for a place that will rejuvenate your soul, this is the place. As one reviewer noted, the pictures do not do justice to the actual views. Every room in the unit has an ocean view. Being a corner unit on a bluff, we literally could watch the sunrise and sunset every day (although as our vacation progressed it got harder each day to get up in time to see the sunrise :-) . The only caveat is that, as part of a resort community, it does require a car to get to nearby shops in Princeville or to swimming beaches. Regardless, I would definitely come back when traveling to Kauai again. Evelyn was very responsive to any of our pre-visit email inquiries, and on the day of our arrival she called to make sure everything was okay and to our satisfaction. There is a reason why her VRBO unit is booked so far in advance! Thank you Evelyn for making our experience on Kauai so welcoming!

We found the place clean and comfortable. It was conveniently located and well supplied. Amenities were functional. It was simply a nice, bright airy place. There were a lot of little things that made the stay nicer. The manager was helpful, cooperative and available when we needed her. One little warning is that the "path" to the ocean was pretty tough to climb. We preferred to access beaches by driving instead.

What a view ! I was moved to tears when we arrived ! Everything was as described in the condo but how does one describe the amazing view, the sound of crashing waves against the shore, the song of the birds?? The bed was so comfortable and we watched the rising sun from it each morning while we drank coffee . Slice of Paradise exceeded our expectations and we can't wait to go back .

We stayed at the Alii Kai property for 5 nights in October. The property was perfect for our 50th wedding anniversary. It was clean, well furnished with all the extras you need to make it a memorable stay. The view of the ocean from all the windows was magnificent. Each room had a commanding view of the ocean and with the windows open we got wonderful trade winds each day and evening. It was very special to listen to the ocean waves from the bedroom while we went to sleep. Evlyn Brodie was very accommodating, calling once we arrived (a nice touch) to ask if everything was okay and to telling us to call her if we had any questions. This is a spacious two bedroom unit that would easily accommodate a family of 4 or two couples. We were more than satisfied with our stay and if we are lucky enough to return to the north shore of Kauai this is where we will stay.

What a wonderful place! Views from the condo are breathtaking; the condo, stocked with everything you need, is a home away from home; the location is perfect for exploring the North Shore or just relaxing and enjoying the condo's private spot and views.

We had an amazing one week stay at Evelyn's "Slice of Paradise"! From the moment we put in a request to book Evelyn's place, she was very responsive through our email exchanges. Sorry Evelyn, but the condo description and pictures didn't do it justice! We were in awe of the spectacular views from outside the front door even before we entered the condo. Then when we finally entered the condo, the incredible views followed us through all the windows from the dining area, the living room, and then both bedrooms! Even after the entire week in the condo we still couldn't get over the views! (Sunrises are amazing!)
Everything you could possibly need was provided to make you feel the comfort of home! We appreciated all the beach gear that was available for our use; snorkeling gear, boogie boards, beach umbrella/mat and cooler. The kitchen had everything we need to prepare our meals. Washer and dryer was a god-send. (We were able to do all our laundry before we packed our suitcases for another week of adventures in Maui.) The beds were very comfy and leaving the window open to hear the waves before falling asleep and waking up every morning was heaven!
This is our first time to Hawaii, and now that we have just returned home from Maui, I can honestly say that my favorite island was Kauai due in part to Evelyn's Slice of Paradise! Thank you so much Evelyn for sharing your home with us. When we return to Kauai, you can bet that this is where we will want to stay again!

It really is a slice of paradise. The views are spectacular. We watched the sunrise and set several days. The sunrise was absolutely gorgeous. The location was easy to get to and was close to the sites we wanted to see.
Evelyn left a list of the beaches and some of the other things to do in the area. This list was good. She even gave some hints on how to get to these places.
The bed was comfortable. The condo was well stocked and it was really nice to have laundry facility right there.
We did a boat tour of the Napali coast, well worth the early morning outing. We also hiked down the hill to the cave just below the condo.
Would love to come stay again!

This was our first time to Kauai & our first time using VRBO....and it won't be our last! A slice of paradise is beyond that! It was clean, very well maintained and we had everything and more that we needed. With it being our first time using VRBO, we really didn't know what to expect or how it really worked as far as what all was provided - well, no need to wonder cuz EVERYTHING you need is provided and then some! One thing I really loved about Ev's condo that she provided was a safe - that was an extra bonus! The views are amazing and listening to the ocean every night was even more heavenly than I ever thought it would be. Evelyn was just as amazing - my boyfriend of 16 years and I decided to also turn this vacation into our wedding vacation/honeymoon and she was so helpful with a lot of advise! The condo was also in a perfect location for meeting our needs as to going to the store, many wonderful restaurants, farmers markets, beaches, or just enjoying the beautiful views from our own lanai! I cannot wait to come back and hopefully it will be soon! THANK YOU EVELYN for extending your wonderful hospitality in your beautiful SLICE OF PARADISE!
