The resort is an excellent place for families. From the ease of access, multiple pools, location right on the beach, towel service, lots of food options within walking distance - it's a win win win! We loved the location and felt like it was one of the better spots in the building. The outside area is private and it’s on the side of the building closer to the snorkeling part of the beach. So easy to walk back and forth if you forgot something. Love the pools and ease of everything with kids too.

We loved this place! It was perfect for our family of 4 and we would highly recommend this unit and the resort. We loved not having to deal with stairs and elevators and enjoyed the patio and yard. The hosts were very helpful and passed along some great tips and recommendations.

Great unit. Sparkling clean and comfortably furnished. Ground floor lanai patio is private and easy to come and go with beach chairs (provided). Kitchen well supplied to make meal prep easy. Very attentive hosts that provided lots of suggestions for things to do, eat, see etc while in Maui. We appreciated that they reached out personally to check that all was well. We’ve stayed in many places in Maui and we’ll definitely return to this one.

This condo was perfect and just as described. We loved having the garden area to enjoy and eat in . It is so quiet being next to only one other condo. The resort is beautiful . Having a great restaurant like Dicks 2 minutes walk is a bonus. The beach here is gorgeous. We saw so many whales !Do not hesitate to rent this condo!

Description of property is spot on. Conveniently located wuthin steps to the beach via patio or pool through front door. Al made sure we had use of beach towels since towel machines were not up and running. Will definitely stay in this unit again

Great property for families. Several pools, hot tubs, and super easy beach access. Our host / unit owner was very helpful and provided clear instructions on how to check in and access all of the available amenities. Our condo unit was very clean, with a well appointed kitchen, washer & dryer, smart tv's, cold A/C, and ground level lanai with grassy area for the kids. We enjoyed our time at Honua Kai and would definitely go again.

Honua Kai is our favorite property and this condo is fantastic. Very clean with a great location (very convenient to parking, pool, lobby). The amenities provided by the owners were very appreciated (body boards, chairs, beach umbrella). You will not be disappointed!

Had a great time with just our family of 4. This place for the most part really has everything you need to stay there and enjoy the beach, snorkeling, pool fun, food. The room H116 we stayed in was perfect for our needs. Very close walk to the beach, pool areas, Dukes, coffee and hotel stores, This ground floor unit was great for us to open up the patio doors and allow the 4 and almost 2 year old to run around or play on the grass area when getting up in the morning and making breakfast or just back to the room for a break and the evening time/dinner. The ground unit also made great for us and our loaded up wagon with items we kept on the back patio to go back and forth from the beach or pool with. Not having to go in and out of elevators with the wagon and just walking in or out of the patio was great. If you did go out the front door it’s just seconds to another door outside and main area and down to the pools and dukes or beach. Overall it was just a great fit for our family and interest of not having to load up/unload a car every day and go out to get to these kinda things.This room had a good amount of beach chairs and sand toys, pool floats in the closet for use too!

Great stay as always at the Honua Kai! Al and Suzanne we're awesome hosts always available and willing to help in any way. The're home was clean and minutes to the beach. The garden setting added to the privacy and put this unit above the best we have stayed in at the Honua Kai. We'll be back in a year.

This property was as described. Good location and well appointed.
We had a very good experience except for one major issue. The bed in the master bedroom was too soft for my wife to sleep on. She spent one sleepless night in the bed, after which she spent the next six nights trying to sleep on the couch in the living room.
This was a big surprise for us as we would think most folks would prefer a firm bed. But this bed was/is quite soft. So we would not stay in this unit again.
Otherwise, all aspects of this unit were well appointed and satisfactory.

First, the property is beautiful and as a bonus the owners were amazing. Nice one bedroom with plenty of room. Spacious bedroom and bathroom, especialy for a one bedroom condo. Plenty of toys to choose from, beach, pool, picnic, you name it it's there for your use.

H116 was excellent!! The suite was very clean and well appointed. We loved the backyard - it made the suite feel even larger. Our 2 kiddos loved seeing geckos right outside the lanai doors! The location is perfect for pool, beach & garage access. The Aina Gourmet Market is also steps away for the perfect morning coffee. Al checked on us via text to make sure we had everything we needed which was much appreciated. We’ve stayed at other units within Honua Kai before and will definitely seek this one out again! Mahalo!

Our stay at Al and Suzanne's property was outstanding. Check in is super easy, the place is beautiful and very well appointed, complete with beach gear (chairs, umbrella, toys for kids) and a cooler. We grabbed some snorkel gear from a nearby rental shop and made our way all around Maui. We were in frequent contact with Al, who ensured we had everything we needed. Although we were only there a short five days, we'd definitely book Al and Suzanne's place again if staying on the west side. Thanks for a stellar vacation experience!

Walking distance to some amazing food trucks and a great grocery store! plus the resort has alll the amenities and very kid friendly. My 4 yr old niece and I took a special trip to her favorite place on earth, and Al and Suzanne's place was absolutely perfect! We come to Maui at least once a year, and have a small condo near Napili but the amenities, convenience and location of Al & Suzzane's place made this the absolute perfect choice for this trip. Some noteable "wins"!
* While I had planned to self-park using the provided parking pass, the Valet team was so courteous, and helped me with luggage, groceries, and just general assistance. They work off tips which I was more than happy to oblige.
* The towel service is a HUGE plus, being able to take as many clean towels each day, and return the sandy/dirty ones each evening was so nice and made it feel like a real vacation... no laundry needed!
*The gourment market and pool service for food and cocktails was such a luxury, all while staying in accomodations that felt like home. The perfect mix of resort and condo!
*The sand toys, beach chairs, coolers, and ice chest made all our adventures complete. Blake and I visited baby beach several times, and we were able to pack a lunch and cold drinks thanks to Al & Suzanne's supplies.
All in all, our vacation was perfection! We're so grateful to have spent time at the Honua Kai with such lovely hosts!

Look no further-this unit is ground floor and steps to the boardwalk and pool/Duke’s. The lanai opens up to a very private garden oasis that extends the unit. Perfect place for relaxing after a long day. The unit has everything you need-coolers, umbrella, beach chairs, toys, boogie boards, etc. super convenient. Property owners were extremely easy to reach. Would definitely return!

We were missing some linens for the sofa bed but the owners were very responsive and able to get us what we needed promptly. We loved our stay and can't wait to go back!

Your home away from home. This gorgeous condo is fully stocked with absolutely everything you need. Smart layout and very spacious. Check-in process was a breeze. Less than two minutes for us. The waterproof bracelets are nothing short of brilliant. Not only does it open the condo it also swipes for clean fresh beach/pool towels. Complex and unit were immaculate. The two stores located in each tower have absolutely everything you need. For the convenience we found the pricing was very competitive. For the grill and fresh produce, Times Market is a hop skip and a jump away. Al & Suzanne were the most insightful and gracious hosts. Offering up mounds of helpful information and tips on where to go. Al was always available to us. We felt so welcome and right at home. The master bed was like sleeping on a cloud! No exaggeration. The sofa bed was also super comfortable. We were well entertained with the tv, books and games in the condo. There were even beach chairs and beach toys for the kids!! We really appreciated that. The location of the condo was perfect for us. Easy access to garbage, to parking, to the store, and to the towels! Dream location with little kids. A beautiful patio with a private green space, this property is an absolute gem. Thank you Al and Suzanne for having us! We had the most amazing vacation and cannot wait to come back!

The unit was exactly as described. My children loved walking out on the grass in front of the patio & looking for lizards.
The kitchen was well stocked. The unit had beach chairs, sand toys, boogie boards, an umbrella and more! The towel system that comes with the unit was awesome!

My family loved the Honua Kia resort and even more so, loved our ground level room. It was very convenient and clean a two minute walk to the pool. The fully stocked kitchen helped us to save money by cooking in. The kitchen came stocked with tin foil, Saran Wrap, and a few spices which was very helpful for our 8 day stay. The Honua Kia was a great family resort.

This unit worked out well for our family of 4 (2 small children). The kitchen was one of the best stocked kitchens I've seen in a timeshare and had everything we needed to cook breakfast and an occasional dinner. It's obvious Al and Suzanne care about their unit--it was clean and had enough towels for our need. I bought dish soap and sponges and detergent as most places do not provide enough, but Al and Suzanne had the unit stocked with those supplies as well. I appreciated that they had some beach chairs, pool noodles, etc available for their guests' use. The small soft ice chest and cooler bag came in handy and we got some use out of the sand toys. I reserved this ground floor unit which was great for easy access when running back and forth to the pool; however, the only downside was the amount of mosquitoes in the grassy area so after the first day, we couldn't keep the lanai doors open. Not the owners' fault, probably just the time of year. Overall the complex was convenient with a nice-sized water slide for the kids, Dukes on the premises, and a handy coffee/grocery store in the lobby. The gym is in the other building, about a 5 minute walk from this unit. The Wilsons were easy to deal with and texted me to make sure everything was in working order when we got there. They even gave us a late check-out which was perfect and allowed us one extra day at the beach before we left.

We stayed here for five days at the end of September, 2018 on a family vacation. It was our first trip to Maui and we enjoyed it very much. This is a beautiful resort, designed with a number of pools suitable for all members of the family, and a lovely beach. The buildings and gardens are well kept and the staff are pleasant and helpful.
Our unit was on the ground floor and was very quiet and private. Outside the condo we had a patio with a table and chairs to seat six, perfect for leisurely meals. The condo was extremely clean and pleasantly decorated and the furnishings, including the king size bed, were very comfortable. The kitchen had ample utensils, there were full laundry facilities, and the bathroom was also well supplied. Wifi worked well and, although we didn’t really have time to watch TV, there were many channels. The owners had thoughtfully left some books about Maui which had many suggestions for places to visit and things to do.
I would highly recommend a stay here and would return again if the opportunity arose.

The condo was as describe and more! We loved everything about this condo and the resort! Al and Suzanne were great to work with; they kept us updated on the hurricane and even sent pictures of the resort. Everything was perfect there, no damage and nothing to worry about. The condo had everything we needed and more. Beach chairs, to coolers, beach towels, etc...We honestly couldn't have asked for a better stay. The bathroom was large, and the bed was comfy. We appreciated their recommendations on where to eat and explore. Slappy Cakes was easily one of the best breakfast places we've been too! We truly hope to make it back someday! This unit is perfect, and Al and Suzanne are amazing hosts with great follow up! Their condo is on the ground floor of the main building - so it’s close to everything: the pools, dukes, the beach, concierge, etc. Being on the ground floor makes it easily accessible and we could open the lanai doors and let our kids (4.5 and 16 months) run around and play in the grassy area right in front of it! It’s a well equipped condo too! Beach chairs, beach towels, boogie boards, cooler bag...everything you could want! Comfortable accommodations and the resort is incredible - you can rent any gear you can think of for cheap by the pool. Al and Suzanne also provide a list of their “favorites” for food, activities, and beaches and they’re spot on! We’ve been to Hawaii many times and this is the best place we’ve stayed. Do yourself a favor and book this unit. We have not a single complaint about the place. We will be back here again!

We absolutely loved our stay in this Suite! Being on the ground floor is perfect with little kids and the patio has a nice dining table and grass area for playing. You can walk out to see the ocean from just beyond the grass area. The beach is just a short walk down the walkway too and its a great beach for kids to play and swim. A bonus is that the snorkeling right at that beach is great first thing in the morning! Plus it's easy to walk along the boardwalk to restaurants at the nearby hotels and all the way to Whalers Village if you'd like!
Al and Suzanne (the owners) were a great help with our reservation from giving us a listing of their favorite things to do to ensuring the suite would be ready upon our arrival. They also checked in on us during our stay to make sure all was going well.
I highly recommend this unit and the Honua Kai resort! We will be back for sure!

Modern, well maintained, and clean, the unit is well equipped for everything you might need during your stay. The resort and grounds are amazing, literally steps from the beach walk and great snorkelling within walking distance. We have always been resistant to condo type rentals because of the different standards you may encounter, but this one is a gem and has exceeded our expectations...zero disappointment. We've stayed twice and both trips equally enjoyable...and have already booked the next stay!!
