We loved Terry's place at The Cliffs! Very clean on arrival, easy check-in process and wonderful amenities on the resort. Having access to the fitness centre and hot tub really elevated our stay. Plus it was an easy drive to the nearby beautiful Hanalei Bay. There's no AC, but we found it was fine with just the provided fans anyways. It was a great home base for our stay on Kauai and we would highly recommend.

Looking to relax and unwind in beauty the Cliff is the place to be. We had an amazing time! The home was just as describe with wonderful views and really nice people. The beaches are to die for but if beaches aren’t your thing rest assure the pools and hot tubs on the resort are also amazing so no need to leave. The host was very responsive and accommodated us for checking and check out which was also very nice. Our family will definitely be back.

This place is phenomenal! The apartment is beautifully decorated and very pleasant; the resort grounds are stunning, with beautiful garden, pavilion for cooking and quiet swimming pools. Above all is the location by the sea and wonderful sandy beach. Helen and Barry are wonderful hosts, going above and beyond to maximize our stay. We particularly appreciated their kind offer for a late check-out so we could take advantage of our last day before flying out. The pavilion and nearby BBQs make the place perfect for dinner all fresco. We will definitely come back.

My fiancé and I loved this condo! It was exactly what we were looking for with a nice pool, kitchen, views, walking distance from some adventures. They go above and beyond at the cliffs with service and hospitality. Bike rentals, tennis, pickleball, and others are available free of charge as well! The condo provided beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, snorkels (warning: try to snorkels with caution, they don’t all work very well). The bed was very comfortable and the condo was cozy and felt like home! I would absolutely stay here again!

This was our second time staying at The Cliff's complex and we loved it. The condo is modern and has a full kitchen and lots of beach items to borrow. My son especially loved the pool area. Our favorite part is The Cliff's has a family pool and an adults-only pool which means the kids can have fun without disturbing others. We will definitely return!

The property is spacious, clean, quiet and well-appointed. Comfortable bed and furnishings, and plenty of cookware in the kitchen. We appreciated the availability of beach chairs and toys and a boogie board in the unit. Our teens were delighted with the number of free activities on the property - tennis, basketball, pickleball, bike rentals, a putting/chipping green. Also the quiet, rolling roads of Princeville make for great running in the morning hours. The owner responded immediately when we had a question ahead of our visit. Check in/out was simple. We would certainly stay again.

We arrived at the property and were greeted by a much larger suite than we were expecting. This property had it all. A large bedroom, one full bathroom and one with a toilet, sink and shower. There is a good sized dining area, galley style kitchen that is fully stocked, large sitting area and two lanais, one off the bedroom and the other much larger one by the kitchen and sitting area. We spent a great deal of our time on the latter lanai. The room is equipped with quality beach chairs, beach towels and umbrella as well as snorkel gear and a wake board. There are also some sand toys for the children. The properties grounds are very well manicured and kept clean. There are multiple communal covered areas that house barbeques on the grounds. The one opposite to our building boasted 5 brand new grilles which were often seen being used. We used them three times during our stay. Approximately, 100 yards from our building (#2) there is a sitting area overlooking the ocean from the clifftop. This is beside buildings 8 and 9. There are dozens of sturdy adirondack chairs for you to sit on and enjoy whale watching and the waves crashing onto the rocks. The complex offers daily events like nature walks, yoga, lectures on the island and even brings in food trucks on some days. A pizza food truck arrived on the Monday and Wednesday that we were there. We definitely enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property based on its size, competitive cost and location.

Beautiful second-story condo love that part to be able to leave the doors and windows open to feel the breeze. Terry was a great host and communication with A++++. We had a lovely time at Terry's place. We found the rooms were very clean. Amenities on the property were great, and the location is good not far from the shopping centre. Rosters were very vocal early but we got accustomed to that as they are everywhere on the island. We were surprised to learn about renovations in the condos surrounding / above us upon check in, we weren't expecting that. However it turned out to be minor during our stay. Air conditioning would have been a plus but we made it work for our stay. Overall we found it a very nice stay at the condo .

This Princeville resort stay was comfortable for me and my friend. The North Shore is definitely the most beautiful part of the island, and the town of Hanalei is adorable. We liked the pool area for some times when we didn't feel like driving to the beach. And brunch at the 1 Hotel was splendid. The main bed is super comfy, but the pull out sofa not as much. The 2 bathrooms and washer/dryer were so useful. Definitely worth the price.

It was a beautiful condo. It was very relaxing and was perfectly located to where we wanted to go - whether further to the northwest (Hanalei) to East Shore (Kapa’a). Had most of the amenities we needed for our 1-week stay in Kauai. A small AC, if allowable, would be great on those hot, muggy days. We did enjoy the peace and quiet as the unit was located away from the recreation area. All you had was the sound of the breeze and occasional cockerel call (I’ll for sure miss that “natural” alarm clock). The second lanai looked out into the woods, which added that bit of privacy. Although we did not cook, the kitchen had everything we needed to eat any leftovers. My final thoughts are to fix both screen door locks, so that there are no issues with locking them and replace the rusted cooler. There were minor damages we found, but not worth removing a star. Overall, we enjoyed our time and will surely be back. Thank you again for a wonderful stay.

Everything went perfectly with our stay. Check-in instructions were clear and went smoothly. The condo was clean and ready with everything needed. We enjoyed dining on the back patio sheltered from the sun with privacy afforded by the nearby trees. The Cliffs has great facilities and great sunset views from the provided chairs on the edge of the actual cliffs. Recommended!

This property was overall an ok stay! My biggest complaint is that there were cockroaches. I was concerned about this after I saw reviews after I had already booked the property. I did reach out to the owner before our stay, and he assured me he would address this. Terry was a very responsive communicator! But we saw a total of 4 cockroaches for a 7 day stay. In the dinning room, living room, by the couch. I totally get being on a tropical island- there are obviously bugs, but this was our second stay on the island and we never had a problem at our other condo. My parents stayed at a different Cliffs building this trip, and they had absolutely no cockroaches. The pool and grilling areas are very nice! Front desk workers are very friendly and helpful.

We very much enjoyed our stay! The resort has several amenities for the kids/family to use… pickleball, shuffleboard, putting green etc. all equipment was provided by the concierge. We also borrow free bikes to ride. The condo is in a great location and more roomy than anticipated. The bed in the master is super comfy… the sofa bed less so, but we just put the mattress on the floor for the kids and it worked great. Parking was easy. A great spot for exploring the area. A short (8 min) drive to Hanalei Bay which we spent time on each day. Thanks for the stay!

We enjoyed the unit, which was quite spacious and well equipped. The furnishings were nice. The location was convenient to everything. It was nice to walk up to the bluff and enjoy the ocean views. There was great bird viewing from the lanai. The owners were receptive to any questions or concerns.
We were surprised at check in to be charged a daily fee of $10 for parking. This didn’t seem to be mentioned anywhere.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this spacious vacation rental. It was so perfect in itself that we didn’t really have to leave the resort.
The kitchen was very handy. But my favorite was eating our meals on the lanai with the tropical garden as our view. Along with the beautiful birds passing by.

Overall, my family enjoyed staying in this Princeville condo. It’s airy and well appointed and the owners had boogie boards, foldup beach chairs and beach towels and umbrellas that were a huge help and made a difference in our stay. The proximity of certain amenities added a lot to our trip like access to pools, the jacuzzi, the rental bikes, tennis courts and the shuffleboard on the grounds. My children also liked access to the lending library in the center next to the pool. We also really appreciated the convenience of some food trucks parked outside the pool for a nice family meal on two nights. Carabella’s Pizza really hit the spot!
There were some problems though. The condo has a garden view in the back, which was nice but our first night we could not sit outside with the children because someone in a neighboring condo was smoking pot and the stench was overwhelming. This went on for several evenings in a row and even one morning. I complained at the front desk and they told me I had to contact security who, in the end, I could only leave a voicemail message for. Eventually it stopped after five days but I think it was only because the people’s trip ended and they left.
The one bedroom overlooks a parking lot in the front and can be noisy sometimes with people beeping their cars to lock in the late evening and unlock their cars early in the morning. It says it sleeps 4 because it has a queen sized pull sofa in the living room, which is true, but it is quite uncomfortable and the springs squeak very loudly when one moves.
Also, the first night we arrived it was quite late and there was sand at the bottom of the sheets in the large one bedroom, which raised questions in my mind about the initial cleanliness of the condo. We had to buy a lot of cleaning products for the apartment at the outset because there was very little when we arrived and ended up leaving a lot more behind than we had been initially given. Despite all my best cleaning efforts, especially with the Swiffer, there seemed to be a cockroach problem that surfaced a week into our stay. I think it was a wider scale problem because I heard others discussing it and there were workers that had to come into our condo building and all the others over one morning to clean out all the vents in the buildings in the complex. Also there was some poison put out by workers to help get rid of the coachroach problem because we discovered dead ones and some that were dying.

Somewhat loud because of the roosters (not so much the parking lot), but this is probably a problem everywhere on Kauai.

Overall, this property is nice. I think the bed itself was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on! The bed is facing the parking, but we never had any issues with noise. Having two actual bathrooms to shower in is definitely nice to have. There is no AC in the apartment so keep that in mind. It does get a little uncomfortable but tolerable with a ceiling fan and another fan in the bedroom. Having amenities such as a pool was definitely a plus! We used the pool a couple times and its open until 10pm! The internet speed was surprisingly fast which was also a huge plus.
The hiccup was definitely cockroaches. Please read previous reviews regarding this as well. I approached the front desk of having 4-5 cockroaches DAILY in the apartment but was given the answer that it is "normal." If you are not use to seeing cockroaches either half dead or just running around the apartment, this is probably not for you. Luckily, the cockroaches never reached the bedroom and was only in the living room and kitchen floors. There was an incident where one was on the ceiling of the bathroom and fell in front of my fiance while in the bathroom.
Overall a good stay, just a hiccup.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Cliff’s. It was a comfortable condo in a great location. It was spacious and we loved having a full kitchen to prepare our breakfast and lunches on the go. The bed was very comfy and the two lanai’s were great outdoor spaces to enjoy mornings and evenings. It was close to many greats beaches and hikes. Princeville is a beautiful town with many choices for restaurants and shopping. Queens Bath is very close and the town of Hanalei is just down the road and a great place for restaurants and shopping as well. We loved our visit to Kauai and the condo was a great place to stay.

The Princeville area was interesting to me. It's a mix of single family homes, condos, and resorts intertwined with a golf course. All very well kept up and very quiet in May. There wasn't much in the way of convenient beach access (didn't expect it either with it being named the Cliffs), but plenty beaches a 15+ minute drive away. Nearby grocery store has everything you need that you didn't already pick up at Costco on your way in.
The condo was very comfortable for just the two of us. Having another couple there would have been fine as well (but I can't tell you if the sofa bed is comfortable or not). What I really appreciated was having beach gear available - we put the chairs, umbrella, and cooler to good use a few days! Also available were boogey boards and snorkeling gear (brought our own). Having a fridge with an icemaker was a bonus as well. Sometimes it's the simple little things that make the difference from me. The deck off of the living room which overlooked some greenery was peaceful. Someone else mentioned this as well - the bedroom and adjoining deck faces the parking area, so you have to keep the bedroom drapes closed when you want privacy. On the plus side, we slept with the slider open and really didn't hear anything, at least until a rooster woke up - but chickens are literally everywhere you go on the island.
Our stay here was only short 4 nights after being in Poipu for 5 nights. We didn't much spend much time at the condo - it was a place to lay our head at night. We didn't use the pool or any of the other amenities - with so many other things to do we didn't miss it.
I checked out nearby Sealodge beach on a late afternoon for something to do. It was raining lightly when I started. I would only recommend it only if you're a little adventurous, don't mind a 15-20 minute hike and travel lightly. When I got there, the rain picked up so I headed back because I was worried about navigating a muddy incline in flip flops. Pretty little secluded beach though.
If you're real adventurous and in decent shape, you might try
Hanakapi'ai Falls. This 60 year old made it with trekking poles. Reservations required, read up on it before you go.

Very comfortable unit with lots of space. The only drawback is the bedroom faces the parking area, so unfortunately there is not much of a view from the bedroom. The other issue is you pretty much have to keep the bedroom drapes closed at all times for privacy. Surprisingly the parking area did not present any added noise disturbances. Definitely would prefer a unit where the bedroom faces a more serene setting.

Highly recommend! We really enjoyed our stay at Terry's condo at The Cliffs. It's our second time staying at The Cliffs, and we will be sure to return the next time we're in Kauai. The unit is exactly as described: clean, spacious, and with a beautiful view. We especially enjoyed the beautiful grounds and pool access, the view of the basketball courts (we could watch our 12 year-old shooting hoops while we prepared dinner), as well as all the beach equipment. Most of our time was spent on the beach at Hanalei Bay. Thank you so much to Terry and Marcy for a wonderful stay! We look forward to staying with you again hopefully soon! :)

This was a fantastic place to stay during our visit in January. There are well maintained weber grills available for your use, the grounds are well maintained, there is a fantastic spot to sit overlooking the ocean with coffee, or a cocktail, and search for whales. We saw several!!!

We enjoyed our stay at the Cliffs in Princeville. It is located close to so many great beaches and hikes nearby. The property is very nice especially the view from the cliffs overlooking the ocean. The owners have beach chairs, boogey boards and snorkeling gear which we used almost daily. The swimming pool at the cliffs is pretty small but we did like using the hot tubs almost every day. We had a great experience in this Princeville condo. We were already on Kauai and decided to extend our stay, so this was a last minute booking for us. I'm glad such a lovely place was still available the week of Thanksgiving! My 5 year old daughter was happy with the pull-out sofa bed in the living room too!
PROS:
*2nd floor unit, which meant we felt comfortable leaving the sliding doors and windows open all day and night to keep the unit cool enough to relax in and sleep.
*The complex is lovely, with nice pools, a playground, hammock and Adirondack chairs overlooking the ocean.
* Great location near the golf course and everything else we'd come to love about Princeville.
* Washer & dryer. Although they are VERY small, they did the trick!
* Boogie boards & coolers & gear included. This was nice, even though the gear closet was quite a mess and the snorkel gear definitely needed a good cleaning before it was usable. We actually opted to rent snorkel gear instead of using these, as they looked quite worn.
CONS:
* The storage space was lacking. The closets were already pretty full of the unit's stuff (cleaning supplies, extra bedding)
* The pull out sofa looked like it hadn't been used in 2 years. There was quite a bit of the usual sofa dirt (crumbs, etc) once we pulled the sofa cushions off to reveal the bed. I just swept it all up, but it gave me a cringy feeling right after we checked in.
* The technology is dated. The 2 TVs are very very small. I know we don't visit Kauai to watch TV, but it was Thanksgiving day, so my daughter wanted to see the Thanksgiving day parade and we wanted to watch the big football game too.
All in all, we had a lovely time and would stay again! Thanks for your hospitality!

Really enjoyed the stay. Property is in an excellent location. Everything was clean and well maintained. Everything was as-advertised. Great to have beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards. Check-in was very easy.

We had a lovely stay at this Vrbo. The space was exactly as advertised and the amenities of the property were great. Check in and checkout were seamless and Terry made themselves available if need be. We did encounter a few dead and living bugs in the space as the week went on, but it was harmless enough given the locale. Overall, would absolutely stay again!

My 18 year old daughter and I stayed here during a mother -daughter getaway after her High School graduation. We loved staying in Princeville- the beautiful north shore! The condo was very clean, had lots of goodies including beach mat, chairs, cooler, snorkeling gear. Of course the location was unbeatable. We avoided the crowds of resort vacation and took advantage of some sweet local spots. We would love to stay at this condo in the future if the opportunity arises.

I’ve stayed at a similar condo at the cliffs resort before with my wife. We really enjoy it there and love Princeville. It was nice to get a condo that has been updated so nicely but even nicer that it had some amenities that other places don’t usually have. We especially liked that they had beach gear like an umbrella, boogie boards and even a small cooler to pack a lunch in. My wife and I brought our two young daughters and it was so nice that there was a high chair and crib for our baby. Overall we enjoyed our stay and 10/10 would recommend!

Our stay was nice and the condo had what we needed for a successful family vacation. The kitchen was stocked with all the needed amenities. The bedroom with king bed was very roomy. The only suggestion we have is to improve the TV's in the condo. There are TV's in both the living room and bedroom however they are very small (both are 20in). This makes it very hard to watch a movie or game in the evening after a long day at the beach. We also found a number of dead cockroaches in the living room. They were dead so it could have been a result of the owner staying up on the pest control but it is never good to find any roaches dead or alive. We reported it to the owner and they were very responsive to take care of the roaches and schedule pest control to come spray the condo.
