Overall the stay was wonderful and the property lived up to the listing. We had a few hiccups that were resolved reaching out to the host.
Location was really wonderful and right between some of our favorite parts in Maui. Even for being in the middle of July, the condo stayed cool and cooled off easily at night, no one complained of being too hot at all.
Condo was outfitted with everything we needed to stay for 8 nights and our kids had a lot of space to play and unwind from busy days.

Great spot in Kahana. We were pleasantly surprised at how big this unit was. Fantastic views and gorgeous sunsets. Great pool and restaurant on site. Great beach and snorkeling with turtles coming right up to shore. Local restaurants with great food and a market nearby. We cooked often in the fully equipped good size kitchen! We will be back!

What a perfect place to stay with your family! My husband and I brought my mom for her 60th birthday along with our 2 kids (8 month old and 6 year old). Not only is the place huge, it has every accommodation to entertain any age. The view was so gorgeous, we saw whales three of the days and many turtles on a daily basis. Definitely plan to book again. Thank you!!

Height of master bed was unexpected. Using a foot stool to get in bed was a pain. Pigeon spikes in outside flower bed not deterring pigeons. Overall, an enjoyable stay. Would do it again if master bed is lowered.

Stunning views, great bedrooms, bathrooms & kitchen. we watched a lot of whale activity from the balcony for hours everyday. Joe, the host, was very responsive when we called. the condo was super clean and easy. the beds & showers were great. ate on the property at the Beach House a few lunches & dinners, which were enjoyable. close to snorkeling at Kapalua there is also a great hike there.

We rented this unit with another couple. The place was so spacious it felt like home with two full master suites. The view from the 4th floor out to the ocean was amazing. We saw many whales playing around and even a few who breached. We also saw turtles swimming around along the shoreline. The beach access was incredible and the pool was inviting. We also enjoyed The Beach House restaurant and ate breakfast, dinner and happy hour there. I would recommend this to anyone in need of space along with comfort.

The unit was exactly as pictured. We had a wonderful stay for over a week. The view is even better than pictured. We could see whales from the beach and balcony, and we saw sea turtles on the beach as well. The proximity to the beach was perfect for a family with littles. We stayed during a busy time and were able to get chairs at the beach or pool without a problem. The shallow kids pool was perfect for our 3 year old to swim in! There are a couple of restaurants and a small convenience store in walking distance. The unit itself was lovely and the kitchen was stocked with some basic things. Plenty of dishes and cookware to cook and eat there when we wanted to. There were plenty of bath towels, a set of beach towels, and some sand toys. We would definitely stay here if we return to Maui!

Condo has amazing views and is roomier than expected. No ac is this condo but we did not need it being on the 4th floor we got a nice breeze. It came with everything we needed. Bring a good pair of binoculars and you can get awesome views of humpback whales breeching during January. We've been to Maui several times and we will would love to stay here again! Joe our host answered all our pre-arrival questions very promptly. Thx!!!

The view of the property is unbelievable gorgeous! Host Joe responded to our message very quickly. The condo has everything we needed, but didn’t equip with AC which was not a big of deal. Property is a little out of date but it was clean. We enjoyed our stay and will book again in the future.

My wife and I absolutely loved staying at the Sands of Kahana with our friends! The whole experience was just amazing. The accommodation were wonderful. The home was cleaned, we had all we needed. The only draw back, and it was a small one, there was no AC. We knew this before hand so it wasn’t a surprise. Leaving all of the doors open made a nice cross wind, no one was ever really uncomfortable. I would definitely rent this place again!

Our family of four very much enjoyed our stay. The condo was spacious and the kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans/utensils, etc. The beach is nice and swimmable. The resort seems to be well managed. They recently converted one of the tennis courts into two very nice Pickleball courts. Paddles and balls were available for checkout from the front desk. The view from the lanai and living room windows was spectacular. Our visit was fantastic, thank you!

The unit had a beautiful view - wonderful sunsets and awesome whale watching. The management was amazing to work with. Any question we had was answered or dealt with immediately. The kiddie pool made our vacation with a one grandchild 2 1/2 years old and one 7 months old. The unit had a pack and play, beach chairs, beach umbrella and beach toys. The beds were very comfortable and the pantry was well stocked. It was a joy to cook in this kitchen.

Joe's place is the perfect vacation getaway The unit was just as clean and beautiful as it appeared on the VRBO listing, and the breathtaking views were even more impressive in person. The beach was perfect for swimming and snorkeling, and my family and I enjoyed hours of fun in the crystal-clear water.
The pool and hot tub were a hit with my kids, who loved splashing around and relaxing in the warm water. And to our surprise, the unit was much bigger than we had anticipated, providing plenty of space for our family to spread out and relax.
Overall, we had an amazing vacation and would definitely come back to this rental again in the future. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a clean, spacious, and beautiful vacation rental with stunning views and easy access to a fantastic beach.

This property is ideally located in a quiet beachfront location yet still close to amenities. The photos in the listing provide a clear and real representation of the property itself. We have visited properties where the photos were a tad misleading, not the case in this listing at all.
We kept in touch with Joe, Owner, however we had no requests of him as everything was in working order and for our 28 nights we had no issues. We loved it.
Would we rent this property again? Absolutely!

Overall the sands of Kahana is a great place right on the water. We have stayed there many times. The condos are spacious and the hosts were terrific. They brought in a new TV when the old couldn’t get Prime.
The only thing we did not like was the extreme heights of the bed in the master and all tables.
The view from that condo is beautiful. You can see both lanai and Maliki from the windows.

Location of the property was perfect. My kids loved that the beach was right outside the property and that there was a heated pool and jacuzzi. The hotel had a restaurant which was easy to go get food from. Amazing ocean view from balcony and living room. Would recommend to anyone and would definitely stay again! The property is also a short walk to many coffee shops and restaurants.

Great location with amazing views of the Azul ocean across the lanai and across Lanai :). Joe was a great and gracious host, when we asked for location of fry pans, he personally delivered a new set. Great clean facility. Non airconditioned but we did not need it at all with the screens, and fans. Great huge condo w 2 beds. Perfect for 6, we were a party of 4. The shore abuts the property and is great for lazing around in the ocean (if not sure, don't go applies). regular views of the sea turtles.

My family of 5 (3 kids 10,11,14) stayed for a week in November. Check in was simple and we always found ample parking. The owner, Joe, was super personable and always responded quickly to messages. This is ocean front! The views are incredible! We saw rainbows almost every day! You have a beach view from the kitchen, living room, dining room, master bedroom and master bath. The house was stocked with anything you could need to cook and plenty of towels. The location was great and easy to get to lots of different areas. Mahalo for a wonderful vacation!

This was our first time in Maui and we couldn’t have been happier. Our condo was lovely and right on the beach with views of two neighboring islands. The only thing that would have made it better was staying longer. I was worried about not having AC but we were always comfortable with the island breeze and the condo fans. My favorite part of the trip was being able to walk down to the beach and play in the ocean in just more minutes! There were chairs and beach towels available right in the condo. The pictures do not do justice. The property was amazing. Very well updated and very clean. We loved the small beach right in front of the property and really enjoyed the small baby pool as well. The host was very responsive and great to work with. As a family we really enjoyed it. Not having an AC was not a problem at all, as the trade winds made it very comfortable as we stayed during the Fourth of July holiday.

We absolutely LOVED our stay! Every experience from booking to check out was easy and pleasant. The beds, couch and chairs were very comfy and really made us feel at home. And the views were spectacular! We even saw whales through our binoculars on the balcony! The unit was well appointed and even had a few pantry staples for cooking. The restaurant downstairs was extremely convenient, economical and quite delicious. We were comfortable even with no air conditioning. The breeze blows through nicely. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

I traveled with my four sisters to this wonderful place. It was a perfect location, perfect weather, and perfect place to relax and refresh. We loved the Lenai outside the bedroom and living room. It was perfect for coffee in the morning and listening to the waves all night long. The kitchen was nicely equipped with everything we needed. The resort has a wonderful private beach that was not overcrowded with a chance of shade or sun. We absolutely loved this VRBO.

This was our first trip to Maui as a family. Our kids range from ages 10-21 and this was the absolute perfect place to stay! The view is amazing! The kids were able to rent kayaks, paddle boards, play in the ocean, watch whales from the balcony, and eat/drink in the Beach House. So many memories made! Some of the best sleep I’ve had in years — that comfortable bed looking out to the ocean. The sound of the waves was heavenly! We’ll equipped kitchen. No AC, but the breeze that passes right the unit kept the place plenty cool at night. Unit provided towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, and a cooler. I liked how this building had the amenities of a hotel but the vibe of a residence. Covered parking kept the car cool. Layout was a little funny!

Space: Soon as you walk in its very spacious than in the pics, clean indoors are very welcoming.. the surprise awaits on the lanai.. stunning ocean views.. we enjoyed sunrise, sunsets, moon sets.
Most days we enjoyed getting food and having on the lanai. Slept and woke up to the sound of the waves.
Facilities: Has good to entertainment system ( tv speakers board games), kitchen is well equipped.
Property has an enjoyable sandy beach with mild waves for kids to play, also pool and heated Jacuzzi which is convenient. Could also rent paddle or kayak right outside.
Access: Good location. We stayed for a week, could access most spots we needed. Short drive from Whalers/ lahaina downtown.

Clean, well stocked, amazing view from lanai. We sat many hours watching people and turtles in the water. Beds were sooo comfortable. Loved having beach towels and toys provided. Only thing missing was a corkscrew, one sand chair that was broken when we got there (we bought one to replace it) and the ice machine didn't work, but ice trays were provided. Those were all minor things, just a heads up fir the owner. My friends and I felt it was one of the most lovely places we've ever stayed.

Property: Sands of Kahana is an oceanfront property in a convenient location. Nice pool/hot tub area. Lounge on lovely small beach or grassy area. A few trees if you prefer to relax in the shade. Grounds are very well kept and all staff are friendly. Free parking garage with really small spaces as well as outside parking. Location of property is convenient to the north and south activities on the west side of island. Quiet and relaxing. A++
Condo: Amazing view, well laid out, clean, and spacious, responsive owner. Upgraded kitchen and bathroom floors and counters are nice. Kitchen appliances work well. No A/C. Open front door and the trade winds blow right through keeping us comfortable.
Master bedroom has beautiful view with nice furniture. Bed was exceptionally hard, however, I contacted the owner and he provided a new comfortable mattress topper the next day! What a difference. Master bath is very large with walk-in shower. The second bedroom has comfortable bed and private bath with walk-in shower.
There is also newer full-size washer and dryer in unit.

It was just fine - kitchen had everything we needed and the bathroom/shower arrangements were really functional for Grandma, son, and granddaughter. Negatives were the rather uncomfortable sofa bed and the small dark second bedroom. Both these would be helped with a bit of redecorating and some new furniture.

We loved the location and little beach area. Was much quieter than the Kaanapali area. If you wanted to adventure out, everything was a short drive. Worth it if you don’t want to be in a busy area.
Regarding our room, the was a great view of the ocean and a very nice layout. The not so good, was the master room mattress was as hard as a rock. Very difficult to sleep on which is important for an vacation.

We have stayed in this general area a few times before, so we knew we liked it. It was our first time at The Sands of Kahana- and we absolutely loved it. Aside from a few small maintenance and other issues, none of which was a big issue, this was perfect The view, the location, the unit itself and amenities were all terrific for us. The bed pillows could have been upgraded, and the screen and glass doors needed maintenance, but nothing that interfered with our overall enjoyment. We had two teens with us, and they were very happy with the sweet little beach, the restaurant downstairs, and the ability to walk to nearby stores. The manager called me back right away when we had an internet problem, and we were able to resolve it quickly. We would definitely stay here again!

What an amazing view from this unit! It has a very thoughtful layout with big windows all the way across to make the most of the view as possible. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Our family has two college age kids and the condo was perfect for us. The bedrooms are separated and private. The kitchen, living space, and lanai are spacious and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. There is a washer and dryer which was also nice to have available. The location is great! It’s close to anything is Lahaina and Whalers Village.
