Honestly, this place is paradise. From the moment we walked through the door, we felt relaxed and knew we booked the right place. The condo is extremely clean and furnished beautifully (with updated furniture vs. what's in the listing photos). And there's no need to worry about the lack of AC, as the trade winds (when you have the balcony open with the screen doors + windows opened above the bed) very quickly cool down the condo and ensure great airflow. You literally fall asleep to the sounds of the crashing waves - it's heaven. And during the day can go down the ocean steps and swim in the bay right outside of the complex with sea turtles not too far off! Also, it's about a 10 minute walk to a supermarket with fresh supplies, an ABC store, and a massage spa (which I highly recommend). Will definitely be back. Thank you Steve for such a perfect stay!

This place was the perfect spot for us. As stated in the description, it is not a 5 star resort. But what it is, is a great condo in a fantanstic location, with amazing views, where you can feel at home. Oh, and turtle sightings from the deck!! The owner gets super kudos for responsiveness and making sure that you have everything you need. In short, we loved our stay here and would recommend it to others who are looking for this kind of experience.

We have been coming to Maui for many years and have previously enjoyed staying at Hale Ono Loa. The location is wonderful for exploring the west side of the island and has convenient grocery shopping and restaurants. It’s a short drive to Whalers Village or Kapalua and there is a bus stop a five minute walk away. This particular unit was even more than we expected. To begin with, the view is spectacular! Sunrise, sunset and any time in between, the lanai begs you just to sit, breathe, and take it all in! The condo’s interior is comfortable and beautifully decorated. It’s kitchen has all you would need to prepare your own meals if you choose to do so. The host was exceptional. He provided clear directions for checking in and offered good advice for an enjoyable visit. Communication rates an A+

We decided to stay in West Maui to spread some tourist dollars in the area. We had lived on Oahu years ago and hadn't been back to Maui since moving back to Seattle. Our host provided all kinds of info on local places to eat and shop, and we used many of them with much satisfaction.
This is a quiet top/4th floor unit that looks right out onto the island of Lanai. The area is fairly quiet, unlike the crazy hubbub of Kihei. Of course, there are numerous tourists in various condos, but also permanent residents and locals eating and shopping in the area. The unit is in an older condo development, but it is comfortable, well furnished, has all the conveniences, and every small appliance imaginable.
Just one detraction for us was the TV system, Vizio. It takes a few minutes to load up and, and in spite of "emergency" instruction from our host, we were never able to get live TV, only streaming. We limped along with Prime but were still happy in our comfy condo (great bed!) in several days of severe wind advisories that kept our toes out of both the Pacific and the pool. Thanks to Steve, our host, for the relaxing 6 days!
Note: Many Lahaina businesses remain open, such as Safeway and ABC.

My husband and I had an incredible stay and Steve’s place was the perfect relaxing spot for our week in West Maui! The view from the Lanai is amazing - saw many whales and sea turtles during our stay. We loved falling asleep with the screen door open listening to the sounds of waves hitting the coast. We enjoyed the coffee maker and watching beautiful sunsets at night. Overall great location! The recommendations provided by Steve were really helpful too for planning our trip! You will fall asleep to the sound of waves crashing just steps away every evening. This condo is nicely updated with a fully appointed kitchen (with dishwasher) and cozy furnishings. The ocean view is phenomenal from the lanai, which hosts a basic patio dining set. Great spot for whale watching (there are binoculars in the condo).
The complex itself is a bit dated - this isn't a luxury resort. We saw 2 units: this one was very nicely remodeled inside, and fully protected from street noise due to the prime location in the building. Between the cross-breeze from the screen doors and an overhead fan, the lack of A/C was never a problem. The PIN code lock was super convenient and made check in easy.
The shared sun deck is large and not crowded. The pool is up to 9ft deep and great for cooling off, surrounded by plenty of chairs and tables (but no shade or umbrellas), as well as 2 large gas grills. The shared coin laundry facilities are fine and parking in the lot with a permit was always available. The unit includes some basic gear like a few beach towels and a couple of folding chairs for your day trips.
You are a 10 minute walk from a small local beach park that was quiet and offered shade, or a 10 minute drive from numerous larger beaches that draw a tourist crowd. There are plenty of restaurants, gear shops, and grocery stores around.

My mother lived in a different unit in Hale Ono Loa for four years. Fifteen years later, I wanted to give her a chance to go back and enjoy a trip to Maui. Beautifully decorated 1 bedroom/1 bath condo with an excellent view of the water. The host (Steve) was great to work with. He kept us informed and was always responsive. He gave us a list of activities, stores, and eating places that really came in handy.
The condo was updated with granite countertops and tile flooring. The king size bed was just perfect. The place was very clean and equipped with all the essentials in the kitchen (dishes, silverware, pans, etc).
This place did not have AC, but it was not needed whatsoever. With the sliding glass doors and the windows in the bedroom open, the trade winds kept the place very comfortable.
Highly recommend this condo. Would definitely look to stay there again in the future.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay; the condo is beautiful but the lanai with the table and chairs with a full view of the ocean was the highlight. We were able to see turtles from the balcony and we’ve never slept better- the bed is extremely comfortable and with the wind and sound of the waves, it is hard to go home. Steve was such a friendly and attentive host. He checked in periodically to see how we were doing throughout our trip. His condo is appointed with everything you could want for a home away from home. We found the beach items to be very convenient, it was nice to not have to rent chairs or snorkel gear. The water pressure in the shower is good, the bed is comfortable, and everything is spotlessly clean. The views from the lanai are ridiculously beautiful- it's like waking up in a postcard every day! We even saw turtles daily from the lanai. The location is excellent, just a short drive away from beaches and restaurants. If my husband and I hadn't already purchased our own place in Maui, there's no doubt we'd stay at Steve's condo again!

Great host and great property. Steve was in constant communication from the minute I made the reservation. When I forgot I had the info I needed he just resent it and we kept moving.
Location: it’s not in downtown Lahaina but if you looked at a map you’d know that. There are a few local shops within walking distance. But if you are in Lahaina you have a car anyhow. The VRBO market on Maui is efficient so this is priced accordingly.
You are on the water and it is accessible but its not a “beach”. Again, you have a car, go to a beach. We are ocean freaks and like going in first thing in the morning and before bed so this was perfect.
Kitchen has what is needed to cook but we did not. Standard drip coffee maker.
It is a condo in w building w large age range so i wouldn’t plan on raging in the unit.
Pool and grounds looked lovely but we stuck to the beach.
Cannot say enough good things about the host. If I can make it back to Maui, I will be in this VRBO.

The listing was 100% accurate and Steve was great in communicating with me. We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary on this trip and the views from the condo did not disappoint. Saw 3 rainbows in one day and watched sea turtles in the ocean. Condo is only a short drive to Old Lahaina on Front Street. The pool on the property was maintained daily and we even enjoyed using the bbqs that were available for grilling. Would 100% book this property again.

Steve is a great host, very attentive and easy to comunicate with and reach. My stay was very enjoyable, it was amazing to wake up and fall asleep to the views and sounds of the ocean. Beach is very nice to swim in and Steve had boogie boards and snorkeling equipment in case one might need it. The rental was very clean and kitchen is very complete. Bed was very comfortable with great soft linens. Location was great, I believe there was a bus that passed right in front but we had a car and it was always easy to park and easy to drive out to places of interest. Quiet neighbor and neighborhood. This property was so peaceful! What an excellent view from the lanai! We spent countless hours sitting out there just taking in the beauty of the place. Everything was clean and the size of the unit for perfect for the two of us. A fun surprise was getting to watch the sea turtles every afternoon as they would swim around the rocks just below the unit. This property is away from all the hustle and bustle of Lahaina (which we liked), so a car is necessary for eating out. Mahalo Maui! We had a wonderful time!

Wonderful place to stay! About 15 minutes away from Lahaina. There are a few restaurants close by and beaches in about a 5-10 minute drive. Nothing is close enough to be walkable so driving/rental car is a must. Owner is very responsive and works hard to ensure you have a great stay. There is a rocky shoreline at the condo, you can go snorkeling there and can see many turtles and other marine life.

This is the third unit we’ve stayed in here. Great location! Steven was an awesome host, answered all of our questions and everything went really smoothly. The bed is comfy, awesome water pressure in the shower, room and kitchen very clean. The view from lanai is fabulous and sleeping with the patio door open to hear the waves just lulls you to sleep. The grounds are very well kept. We walked to the little “farmers market” (no outdoor stalls due to COVID) for homemade banana bread and fresh fruits and veggies. This is our sixth time on the island and would definitely stay again!

This place was so refreshing. The view is stunning, overlooking the water. My wife and I enjoyed sipping morning coffee as watched the early morning sun hit the island of Lanai and brighten the blue waters of the coastline. Our favorite feature was being able to open the wide sliding doors to the lanai. The place was comfy, clean, and beautifully updated. We loved falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the waves crashing. The breeze flowed nicely through the condo. Steve communicated everything so clearly. He was very responsive and helpful. The condo was great! We could have literally stayed there the whole time and still had a perfect vacation! The view was spectacular, loved the layout and decor/vibe of the condo, great pool and sun deck to watch turtles from, good snorkeling in the morning right outside the property with a little nice swimming beach a short walk in front of a neighboring Condominium with other beautiful beaches to hang out at for the day close by, and a couple good little food places and coffee walking distance. We liked that Kaanapali and Lahaina were a short drive away, so we were close but out side of the more congested tourist areas. Steve was also a great host, very helpful and responsive. My husband and I would definitely recommend this condo for a Maui vacation!

Great stay, I was a little concerned about no AC but we slept fine with sliding doors opened fully and both fans on it was no problem. It does get a little warm in the afternoons but the few times we were actually in the condo in the afternoons we opened the front door and got plenty of airflow from the trade winds and it cooled off quickly. The condo was as described, very clean, bed was comfortable, shower was great with plenty of water pressure. Views were better than the pictures and so nice to sleep to sound of ocean and palm trees blowing in the wind. Steve was great in communicating to us when we arrived and we appreciate him letting us stay past check out until late afternoon as our flight did not leave until 8:45 PM, could not ask for a better host. Pool was nice and clean as well as everything on the grounds. It fit our needs and wants perfectly as it was mainly couples/adults staying here. It was very quiet and peaceful and located close to great restaurants, food trucks and shopping. Enjoyed viewing the sea turtles that appeared every afternoon by the sea wall. Easy drive to Lahaina, short drive or even walk to many beaches. We loved our stay and plan on returning next time we make it back to Maui.

Steve's condo was exactly as it's pictured. It was very clean and the kitchen well-equipped for nights when we stayed in to have a meal. The fridge has an ice and water dispenser which allowed us to conveniently refill our water bottles. The top-floor ocean view was terrific to wake up to and the cool breeze at night and comfortable bed made sure we were well rested for the next day.
The resort has a couple laundry rooms we were able to use on our trip which was convenient for us and an elevator so we didn't have to drag our luggage up 3 flights of stairs.
Steve's condo is also located just a 5 minute drive from Kaanapali Beach where we were able to snorkel and see three sea turtles along with many colorful fish and coral.
Overall this was a great experience and we would absolutely stay again the next time we're in Maui. Thanks Steve!

The condo has a wonderful view from both the entrance and the lanai. It's a quiet complex and the unit is clean, and neatly kept. Steve is easy to contact by email, and answers quickly. We landed late, and didn't get into the condo until a minute after midnight. The next morning there was an email from Steve asking how we were, he was wondering if we made it ok. Absolutely, we will return. The instant ice machine/ water from the fridge is an added asset here! We should have paid for another night so we didn't have to check out early in the day.... next time for certain!

We really liked the condo, it worked out very well for us. Nice view of ocean and pool from the Lanai. We knew when we booked there was no air conditioning, however with this current heat it would have been helpful as the temps were warm at night. Steve did have a fan whiched helped.

We arrived at this unit just after sunset and when we walked into the condo unit, some of the lights had been turned on for our arrival and it was just so welcoming after a long day of traveling. Although the building itself is an older building, this condo unit was very clean, had been brought up to date with granite and marble tile and was well-appointed. The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of cookware, dinner plates, etc. We enjoyed the lanai and spent quite a bit of time out there taking in the beautiful view. The pool area is very well maintained and has a lot of beautiful plantings around the pool area.
This condo unit is in a great location, close to the Farmer's Market, close to supermarkets and a few local beaches. The Front Street area is just a few minute drive away and that has a lot of the old Hawaiian charm, shops, and restaurants.
Steve was always available if we needed anything and also had texted us to make sure we arrived, (Mahalo Steve). The unit also has a notebook that provided a wealth of information regarding local restaurants, beaches, shopping, and things to do.
In the future when we return to Hawaii, we will definitely stay at this unit. We loved our stay here.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay. The view was incredible and we saw Turtles from our balcony a handful of times.
This condo is a hidden gem and we are already talking about visiting again!

We really enjoyed our stay. The condo is apparently, recently updated. Excellent choices were made throughout; travertine tile floors, marble countertops in the kitchen and bath, nice cabinetry, efficient use of space design. Nicely furnished; it’s even stocked with some interesting dvd’s and books. The finest detail though, is the view. It’s a wonderful, close in, right in your face ocean view.
Steve, the owner, made the whole process of booking and checking in super easy. We hope to return in another year or two.
