Highly recommend this condo - it was so well designed and very comfortable. It had everything we needed for our stay from beach chairs to board games. The owners were very helpful and always prompt in responding to messages. It was also a pleasant surprise to get the top notch service of the Ali’i concierge. The only recommendation I have for the owners is to consider adding vent fans to the bathrooms as they get quite humid and warm when the showers are running.

This was my first family’s trip to Hawaii and we couldn’t have picked a better property, or rented from better owners. The condo and property were impeccably clean and condo was so spacious. Sitting on patio overlooking the mountains was the perfect start to each day. We definitely took advantage of having a fully stocked kitchen and a supermarket only a few minutes away, as there is no restaurant on the property. We would definitely stay there again. Great condo, very clean, well stocked, lots of amenities and liked the extra touches like coffee, treats, water bottles, bath products and housekeeping during our stay. Centrally located and an easy 5 minute walk to Whalers Village for shopping and dining options.
Only feedback we have is that the showers lack grab bars and it proved challenging for my 85 year old dad to use the master shower with greater confidence. Additionally, the guest bathroom shower/toilet room seems to lack ventilation and the shower room gets very hot because there isn't any AC vent in the shower/toilet room. It would also be helpful if the owners gave more instructions for operating the TV in the living room. We found the instructions to be lacking and the TV cumbersome to operate compared to the TVs in the bedrooms. Overall, our concerns/feedback didn't detract from a wonder visit and we very much enjoyed staying at the condo.

The condo at the resort was the best of both worlds! We enjoyed the space and ability to prepare meals in the condo but also enjoyed the resort feel at the pool and beach! It was perfect!

We are a family of 4 (2 young teen boys), and have traveled a decent amount. This was far and away the most beautiful, luxurious, and spacious condo we've ever stayed. The decor and finishings throughout were expertly thought out and very high end. Spacious storage throughout made for a clutter free week. The condo was stocked with anything you could possibly need and more.
Moving onto the resort as a whole, it is very quaint and quiet. The courtyards were lush with well-manicured walkways. The resort didn't have an elaborate lobby or pool, but I was much happier with the smaller, more remote feel (even though you are are a short walk to Whalers Village with numerous dining and shopping options).
The beach was amazing. Great sunsets and the way our pool area integrated with the beach to allow for views from the sand or pool side were amazing. The grill area was always clean and towels were readily available each day as well as chair towels.
The front desk and concierge were very helpful and friendly. We did an instacart order and they brought our groceries up 11 floors without asking them to. The concierge helped navigate us to amazing snorkeling spots and gave us tips on the way to the top of Haleakala. My son also lost his stuffed animal souviener and the front desk heard about this and gave him a stuffed turtle to cheer him up.
All around the room, the owners (who were extremely responsive) and the entire Kaalapali area was a full 10 out of 10.

The condo is absolutely beautiful - attention paid to tiny details. The view of the mountains is stunning. The condo was perfectly appointed for our family's weeklong stay.
The location couldn't have been better - moments from Whaler's Village.
Paul went above and beyond sharing three pages of tips and ticks about Maui and we took some of his suggestions which were great.
My family can't wait to return to Maui and we will stay in Paul and Caitlin's rental again!

My family and were taken aback about the decor of the condo. My wife is a interior designer and she gives it a 10 out of 10. It was clean, modern, all the applicants worked well and the location was great. In the few times I had to communicate with the property owners, the got back to me immediately before my stay. The resort staff was friendly, attentive followed through. We all agreed we would stay there again in a Maui minute.

Our family had a great time at the Kaanapali Alii. The beautifully renovated and tastefully decorated condo on the top floor was just perfect. We only cooked breakfast a few times and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed for any meal. The beach was great and the location was great, plenty of shopping and restaurants within walking distance. Also very convenient location for day trips to other beaches, etc. There were 2 beach chairs, umbrella and cooler which you could take with you on a day excursion as well as the pool towels but be sure to return them :) The owners, Paul and Caitlin were very responsive to any questions and also sent area suggestions for day trips and restaurants which was very helpful. The lenai was great for morning coffee or really anytime during the day/evening. I can't say enough about this place. Will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Maui!

We enjoyed every minute of our stay in this spectacular unit! Every morning we were greeted with the most beautiful views and cooked breakfast in the amazing kitchen. The location was perfect, just a quick walk to Whaler’s village which had all the shopping and dining you could ask for. The beach was wonderful, with excellent snorkeling right in front of the unit as well as at Black Rock, just a few minutes walk away. When we come back we will definitely stay here again!!!

We were thrilled with the location, view, and modern renovation of this unit. The floor plan was perfectly situated for our family’s needs, so spacious, and beautifully decorated. Paul and Caitlin's condo is wonderful, as are they!!! The condo was completely renovated in the past few months, and it was amazing! Everything was beautiful- the wood floors, the furniture, the television, the bathrooms...... all top notch! It was decorated beautifully! Paul and Caitlin spared no expense- bravo to them! The condo was fully stocked with everything we needed: Dishes, blender, toaster, utensils, etc. It was like we were at home! The washer and dryer were brand new and they even provided laundry detergent. Also included were beach chairs and umbrella, cooler, bogie board. I am sure I am forgetting some things, but suffice it to say, if we needed anything, it was there!
And on top of all that- Paul and Caitlin were fantastic hosts! Very easy to work with. Always available. Very kind. Just really, really good folks! My wife and I cannot say enough good things about them and their place! If I could give them more than five stars I would! You will not be disappointed!

Our family really enjoyed our stay at this property. Owner is super responsive and helpful. Location is perfectly situated with great beach access and a short walk to Whaler’s Village (shopping & restaurants) and Black Rock (amazing snorkeling). Condo is exactly as pictured. It is on the top floor, and the view of the mountains and golf course is absolutely gorgeous. The balcony is huge with both a dining set and relaxing chairs. Kitchen was well appointed for cooking with utensils, pots/pans, etc. Pantry was not well stocked - so be sure to pickup spices, oils, foil, etc. Laundry was well stocked with detergent and dryer sheets. Dishwasher tablets were provided. There were two umbrellas, two chairs and two boogie boards which was a huge convenience and savings. Pool towels are available, but no beach towels. All in all, a wonderful stay and we’d highly recommend this stay to another family (or two couples) to enjoy. Aloha!

Beautiful property with nice pool, bbq, parking, residence, etc. Not as fancy schmanzy as several properties on either side, but not as costly either! Perfect for keeping costs under control, eating at home, and still enjoying beautiful beach. Great proximity to Whaler's Village, with lots of shops and restaurants, as well as an ABC mini market which was nice to have close to us.

We had a great time at Kaanapali Alii! The condo was very well equipped, from the kitchen to the beach essentials. We loved having the gas grills by the pool also. Great location, you can walk all along the beach and lots of activities close by. We would definitely stay here again, Mahalo!

Great Property. Parking included. Free tennis racket rentals and nice tennis courts. Room has beach umbrellas, beach chairs, and two boogey boards. I noticed that that the listing says the unit is going to be renovated. I honestly do not know why. Everything was in great condition.

We had an amazing stay at Kaanapali Alii. The building grounds were beautiful, and we really enjoyed the pool, sunset views and easy access to one of the best beaches in Maui. Whalers Village is just steps away where we enjoyed many nice lunches and great shopping. Paul and Caitlin's unit was perfect! Really clean, beautifully furnished and well stocked. They were easy to communicate with and provided a great list of activity/food recommendations before we arrived. It was everything and more we could ask for!

Absolutely had the best week at this property. So close to places to eat, nice pool and very nice condo. Plenty of room for our family. We traveled with our son and daughter-in-law and 18 month old granddaughter and it was perfect. Paul was very quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had before traveling. Our family stayed here in June 2021. The 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo was perfect for us. Everything was in working order and kept up very well. Linens and towels were high quality. This condo is located in Kaanapali one of the best stretches of resort beaches on Maui. Whalers Village is an outdoor mall within walking distance with retail shopping, a convenience store and restaurants accessed by a lovely beach front path. There are many activities (sailing, surfing, parasailing etc) that can be accessed within walking distance. The staff at the building provided us with excellent service. Our 16 and 18 year old daughters loved it as well. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend.

This Alii residence was the best of both worlds, we had a condo with a kitchen and 2 rooms with 2 baths, great for teenagers and adults. The lanai view was breathtaking and I wish I didn't have to ever leave. While it was great to have the kitchen, there was also BBQs available to use by the pool and restaurants easily accessible at hotels around us. The Alii also had chairs to use for the beach. We had friends staying in two other units in the same building and we felt like we had the best unit with larger lanai and the full second bedroom with a door. We are already planning another trip back. Mahalo!

The property description was understated. we were impressed wiyh everything from the property, location and unit.It was meticulously maintained and would highly recommend Maui and this unit as a spectular vacation destination. A 5 star destination with all of the comforts of home!!

Can't believe it took our family 30+ years to finally visit Hawaii . My husband, two adult daughters,and myself spent nine unbelievable days in Maui in the Rachner's condo . We have been very fortunate to travel to many places in this world but none as beautiful as this . There was nothing more we could have asked for, except to stay longer. The condo and property grounds were impecible. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The location is perfectly situated for easy access to shopping, dining, great snorkeling, swimming with great waves and perfect weather. Our favorites were the Old Lahina Luau, Mama's Fishouse( twice , and happy hour at the Whalers Village . The snorkeling was amazing and swimming with sea turtles a real treat . We did go out to dinner quite bit, many good restaurants within a short distance , but some of our best meals were the fish we caught and cooked at the pool side grills . I have never seen a grill so clean except in a box at Home Depot ! The outdoor grilling / eating area was wonderful . The condo was impecible ...and I'm a real nitpicker about that sort of thing . The maid service was a wonderful touch . It was just the right combination of a condo / resort feel . It was one of the most relaxing vacations I've ever been on, I actually woke up one day thinking I lived there! Finally developed our pictures today and realizing that it truly was a vacation of a life time. Thank you for sharing your home with us and being so helpful with our questions ..I don't know how you manage to ever leave . God willing, we will be back and looking to stay here again .

My husband and I spent our honeymoon in this unit June-July 2011, and it was 11 days of absolute bliss. The unit and facility is clean, amazing, and out of this world! There is no other place I could or would have wanted to spend our honeymoon. We felt like we had entered paradise. The owners were wonderful. They gave my husband and I a list of "must-sees" and we were never once disappointed. Whaler's Village is a must, as well as the Old Lahaina Luau (Book EARLY ... It fills up very quickly). The most AMAZING trip my husband and I took while in Maui was the trip to Mount Haleakala. It was worth getting up at 230AM. All-in-all, I would not have traded one moment of our honeymoon for anything. The condo and Maui was paradise and I felt like a queen. We are already saving money to plan our next trip back to the this condo!!

We have just completed nearly 2 weeks in the Rachner condo. In a nutshell, we could not ask for better.
Rich was easy to work with and an interesting person to boot! It's hard to add more than the previous reviews listed below!
We found everything to be up to date and clean. There is enough storage in there for a family of 10! The views from the lanai, where we had breakfast and dinner many nights, is beautiful. We saw many rainbows over the West Maui mountains. My daughter wants to come back to live in the 2nd bedroom...it's just so cool!
The Alii itself is very well located and a joy to stay at with excellent beaches right in front, an easy walk to Whaler's Village for dining and shopping and just a few extra minutes to Black Rock for snorkling. In 13 days, we only used a touch over 1 tank of gas..it's simply all right there for you.
We are already trying to figure out the next time we can make this trip to Maui and hope to stay in the same unit again....thanks, Rich!

Took the kids to Maui for the first time. The Alii was better than I had even expected. Great location right in the middle of everything. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Amazing beach and beautiful pool area.
Rich (owner) was great to work with, responded to all my questions in a timely manner and is clearly proud of his condo. And he should be, it's classy and clean. Great layout. We spent tons of time out on the large lanai. View of mountains and a rainbow nearly every afternoon. Can even see a hint of the ocean. Can't wait to go back!

I spent nine nights in this condo with my wife and our 5-year old daughter. What a great place to stay! We woke up every morning to the smell of fresh Hawaiian coffee and enjoyed our breakfast on the Lanai. The lay-out of this condo with its master suite, large open living area, separate guest bedroom / bathroom, and outdoor space is ideal. We really felt at home here. The beach, pool, and BBQ areas are fantastic and the Alii is conveniently located with respect to restaurants, shopping, and outdoor activities. We were also within walking distance of two evening shows that we enjoyed - the Luau at the Hyatt and the Kupanaha magic show at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel. The on-site concierge was a tremendous help in making suggestions and booking our side trips. The daily maid service was a nice touch - who wants to make beds when you're on vacation? Nicely done Rachners! We hope to return some day and would definetely consider staying here again!

We rented this unit (and are still here) for 5 nights. It is myself, my husband and 2 sons aes 10 & 18. We all loved it the second we walked in the door.
The kitchen is well stocked with dinner plates for the condo or plastic ones for grilling by the beautiful grills next to the pool at sunset! There are Lassen prints throughout the unit giving it that Hawaiin feel. The rooms are very spacious and the 2nd bedroom has a curved door which my son loves. Washer and dryer are in the unit. They even have a beach cart for carrying things down with ease. There are several mirrored walls which reflect the sunlight and really brighten the rooms. The pool is great, multi-depth for families. There's a place by the pool with a couple of tvs and its under cover with cushions chairs. The lanai is very spacious with aa chaise and a table with 4 chairs. We are scuba divers and it was a great place for drying out our gear. At check in, I heard another family checking in. They were quite disappointed that the unit they rented form another private owner did not include daily maid service or repairs. The Rachners unit does include them. It came in handy when we needed a plunger, otherwise you would have had to call the owners and they would had to call a plumber. Iwould love to come back and stay here.
