My friend and I did a last minute escape for 4 days to get out of the CA cold and rain. We loved this place - quiet and clean, at the edge of a big fish pond, close to the beach, super spacious, kitchen extremely well equipped, low key tasteful furnishings, lots of good eateries nearby. A great value for the location and large space.

Excellent. Some problems: unable to find remote for bedroom fan; one bank of lights under kitchen counter did not turn on; light sbove stove was too feeble to be helpful; strong mildew odor in powder room; powder room toilet handle tended to stick. There appears to be a leak in the powder room toilet—every 15 minutes water runs for 5-20 seconds. The living room TV didn’t work properly Would definitely like to come back. I broke one of the salad plates unfortunately

My wife and I and our two teenage kids just had a wonderful stay in this condo. Views over the fish ponds to the nearby (100 yds) ocen are simply stunning. We really valued the closeness to the beach, the rocky seashore with so many sea turtles and great snorkeling and also to the shops/dining. This is now my favorite location in all the Hawaiian islands. So quiet and unspoiled.

“Our stay in Mauna Lani was the complete package. The unit comfortably suits four guests with a full kitchen, washer and dryer, 2 1/2 baths and a beautiful, very large porch overlooking the pond on the property (you can see the ocean from the unit). The best part is that you have access to three beaches, all within walking distance. The Beach Club was our favorite because it was very scenic, peaceful and a great place for beginner snorkeling and paddle boarding (renting available on the beach). Did I mention that Obama has been there? I'll save you the research: This condo is located on the sunniest part of the big island, which did not disappoint. The island has many types of weather and we experienced it first hand during our travels around the island. There are also many shops nearby in the complex, including the free Thursday night Polynesian dance show, which was just as good, if not better, than ones you would pay high $$$ for. The management company, South Kohala, is very accommodating and response quite quick. Their communication was excellent leading up to our arrival and out check-out was seamless. Overall, I can say without a doubt that renting this condo is absolutely worth every penny, making our first trip to Hawaii truly magical.”

We enjoyed our stay on the Big Island. We liked the condo, but there are a few things that were a little off. The pantry doors are a pain as they are hard to keep closed. The only pans for cooking were stainless which makes food stick unless you use A LOT of oil. No fan for the stove. There were quite a few ants in the master bath around the right side sink (two sinks). They did come and spray but that just increased the ant population in the bathroom. Loved the deck. Main room TV is very old but the ones in the bedrooms were nicer. We did not spend a lot of time in the condo, so it did not deter from our visit. Renters should know it is a walk to the beach and you are NOT allowed to used Mauna Lani Beach chairs or anything else. We were told not to use the chairs or towels because we were not staying at the hotel. If you stay at this condo then get chairs at Costco or Walmart. The tap water taste fine so no need to get bottled water. The condo has lots of towels and there is maid service. If you don't mind an older place and don't mind the walk to the beach then this is a great place to stay. Awesome snorkeling right off the beach!
