vrKCV - Kulalani at Mauna Lani 604, Professionally Managed by Kona Coast Vacations
E komo mai – welcome - to our Big Island home in Kulalani #604, within the up-scale Mauna Lani Resort on the spectacular Kohala Coast. We hope you enjoy the privacy and serenity as much as we do.
Find all the comforts of home including air-conditioning (set to not go below a comfortable 72 degrees), a fully-furnished gourmet kitchen and Viking BBQ on the lanai to name a few. There is a 70” UHD television with Bose surround system in the living room, and televisions in each bedroom.
The very spacious primary bedroom has a king bed, sitting/office area, large lanai, walk-in shower and jacuzzi tub. The guest bedroom has an en suite bathroom and XL twin beds that can be made into another king upon request and for a fee. There is an additional powder room downstairs.
Our home is perfectly situated to capture the cooling trade winds as you enjoy expansive views of the 5th hole on the Francis H. Brown North Course and all the way to Hualalai volcano, 35 miles away, above Kona. The upstairs and downstairs lanais enjoy the beautiful and mild morning sun so that you can comfortably dine indoors or outdoors any time of day.
For your convenience, there is a washer and dryer. We have left you beach towels, and chairs but as our guest you are able to use the private Mauna Lani Beach Club where lounge chairs are provided and other fun items available. There is a beautiful sandy beach and excellent snorkeling. Stand up paddle boards, anyone?
There are lots of dining options nearby, or walk to the gourmet grocery store at the Shops at Mauna Lani.
From Kulalani at Mauna Lani, you are a 5-minute drive to some of the most spectacular beaches in the world, including Hapuna and Mauna Kea. But you may want to just relax at Kulalani. We enjoy one of the most beautiful common areas anywhere. Set in a lush tropical setting are 2 pools: an adult lap pool and an ohana (family) pool. There are outdoor spas near each pool. In addition, both pools have restrooms and showers. In the adult pool area there is a very complete, air-conditioned fitness center.
Besides two championship golf courses, Mauna Lani is a great place to explore. The resort is filled with ancient Hawaiian cultural sites. Kulalani is a short walk to the Puako Petroglyph field, one of the largest in Hawaii. The coastline and fishponds next to the Beach Club are a photographer's dream.
We hope you enjoy our home. We have lovingly furnished it with all the comforts of home, tropical décor, original photography and artwork. Come and enjoy the aloha!

The house was so nice and really had everything we needed. The kitchen tools were amazing. Even though we had minor issues with the AC and dishwasher the property management was super responsive getting back to us in only a few hours. This place is excellent.

We stay in this area every time we visit Kona and this was a great unit! Everything you need in the kitchen, quiet, shaded location facing the golf course, lovely art throughout. We especially enjoyed the upstairs lania with two fabulous reclining porch chairs! We had a couple of reasons to reach out to the property manager and they were prompt and responsive every time.

Kulalani is a quiet and beautiful complex--within walking distance to the beach and shops at Mauna Lani. This is a great area to stay!!! The pool and workout facility are within steps of the condo. There are two pools to choose from: a quiet 15" lap pool in the fitness area and a family, and a lagoon style pool in the gathering area. Even over the Christmas holiday (peak season), we still had the pool area to ourselves most mornings and evenings. The townhouse was super comfortable! We loved the TV area in the evenings and the kitchen had every tool we needed to cook at home. Bedding, towels, and beach gear (chairs, boogie boards, bags) are all provided in abundance. One recommendation is to place an entry way mat by the front door. The condo complex has a goofy dirt/concrete padded entry that floods when it rains. We always removed our shoes before entering but front entry tile still got dirty. Overall, we loved our three-week stay and hope to return soon!

My husband and I and our two adult sons had a wonderful stay in this stunning unit. It is beautifully furnished , well supplied , and perfectly clean. We so enjoyed the beautiful art work throughout. We voted best photo, the wave picture in the downstairs bathroom!

Really this property and all the units in this complex are beautiful, well located and quiet. This particular unit and specifically the kitchen was well equipped with everything needed and more. Most of the furniture was comfortable especially the beds. There was a good amount of beach stuff (towels, coolers, chairs, umbrella, noodles, boogie boards) to make a day at the beach easy although full sets of masks were missing snorkels, otherwise perfect.
Here are my personal issues for improvement. The pictures of the lanai don’t specify the views. The upstairs master suite has a lovely lanai with a slight golf course view and comfortable chairs. The downstairs lanai has no views whatsoever. It wasn’t clear on the listing. The downstairs lanai furniture isn’t the same as listed either. The newer furniture is super uncomfortable and no lounge chairs. The dining room chairs are equally hard and uncomfortable.
There are a ton of pluses for this unit and the price was right.

We arrived late on a Friday night happy to just crash after a long day of traveling. In the middle of the night my daughter woke up sweating. We then discovered that the window to the room they were in was broken and open. There was a note stating not to close it and it was scheduled to be fixed 5 days after our stay ended. The next morning I called Kona Concierge the management group and explained to them the problem. Not only did the window remain open, but the A/C did nothing as the sun beat into the room, keep it a nice hot 80plus degrees. They then told me there wasn't anything they could do, but that someone would call me the next morning. They also let me know that the owners were the last ones that stayed in the unit and had told them about the broken window. Did they not think it wasn't important to let us know that there was a major problem with the unit we were renting? apparently not! The next day Kona Concierge never called me and I only got someone on the phone after several calls. I asked to be moved but they were all booked. Yet they assured me they would get a portable A/C unit over to us and that would fix it. Portable unit brought over and ridged into the window. We thought it was all good. However because of the broken window the hose continually fell out and did not cool the room. After fighting with the hose and the unit turning off my family(2 adults, 2 teenagers) and I took turns sleeping on couches and the master. THIS IS NOT how you want to sleep at the end of the day. I again called and never got any follow up. I will NEVER us this company again. We have used VRBO several times on the Big Island and never had issues unresolved if any. Not to mention we also own a vacation home and would never want renters to have a bad experience without doing everything we could to make them happy. Side not this unit also sits on the golf course that they mow almost daily between 5-6am. Just to add to the unpleasant sleeping situation.
