One half of the cottage has a queen size bedroom, closet, walk-in tiled shower with an outdoor experience, private entrance to the back and front of the house, plus its own wet bar. Included in this part of the home is a separate sitting room with outside access, which holds a TV area and an additional queen sleeper sofa for two. The other half of the cottage holds a queen size bedroom, full shower/tub bathroom, living area, and kitchen. There is a door that can be closed to separate the two areas for increased privacy. Fans can be found in each bedroom for added comfort to help on warmer days.

The newly appointed kitchen features original Koa wood cabinets, granite counters, and stainless appliances. Dine at the four-seat kitchen bar or venture outside to the natural and tropical dining area for six and barbecue in the rainforest. The home is fully-equipped with a private parking spot, bamboo linens, beach towels, barbecue, games, guidebooks, DVD players and select videos, and cable TVs. Free WiFi allows for work while also ensuring the best AppleTV, Netflix or Hulu downloads for late night movies.

As you venture out, feel free to use the home’s coolers, beach mats, beach towels and umbrella on the calm waters of Anini beach, listed as the only swimmable beach year-round. The location is very convenient and I found the snorkeling to be just as good directly in front of the house as anywhere else on the beach (tried over by the boat dock). The location in front of the house makes going down to the beach very easy any time you feel like it. And it is much less crowded than the public area which is priceless really. It is hot at night for the evening then cools off overnight. Even with all the vent windows open and the fans going. I am not someone who needs air conditioning and am not sensitive to heat but this house gets hot in the evening. The rental co brought out another fan which was nice and they were very accommodating and extremely nice. There are 3 portable fans here and you pretty much need one for each guest- blowing directly at them- at least at night in July. I have stayed in the larger house partnered with this one and it is not nearly as hot at night. Very convenient stay. Would stay again.

Unfortunately I was very disappointed with this property. The pictures are quite deceiving as it makes the place look new, light and super clean but in actual fact every item and fixture in this house is way past it’s due date for replacement (apart from the tvs). The wooden privacy screens to the second bedroom did not work so someone had to sleep exposed since the living room has no shutters or curtains. I was sad and disappointed because I was expecting a cosy comfortable beautiful house. There is a reason why there are no pics of the bathrooms. The only plus was the location which is literally two minutes from the beach and it’s a beautiful relaxing beach (good for snorkeling as it’s entirely reefs) and Netflix and Wi-Fi working well. All that being said, I can say is that Vacasa did their best to help, they brought bug repellent due to the large amount of mosquitoes (and the house’s fly screens had gaps so they were inside). The brought a correctly sized bath plug because the bath plug that was there didn’t fit the bath. They offered to put up curtains etc. they really went above and beyond trying to help and that left a very good impression of Vacasa for me. I would book through them but I would not stay at this house again. Let’s just say if it was my actual home I’d be embarrassed to have guests over.

Cozy Cottage to call home during our visit. The host provided plenty of linens and gear for a day on the beach. Plenty of kitchen gear. Comfortable and clean. Very happy. Can’t beat the location.

We had a wonderful time staying at this house in Anini. The location could not have been more perfect with Anini beach access just across the (not busy) road; it was like having our own private beach most days. I went swimming with the turtles and fishes every morning, spent the afternoon reading on the beach, and we could easily get to and from Hanalei, Princetown, and Kilauea for lunch or dinner when we decided to go out. The various amenities of the house - beach chairs & towels, shower gel/shampoo/conditioner, laundry facilities, Apple TV for casting our shows at night, and a kitchen stocked with the basics we needed for a 5-day stay (as well as our favorite granola greeting us on arrival) - made our stay incredibly comfortable and convenient. An unexpected surprise was the big beautiful backyard with its amazing trees and wildlife. Access on arrival was easy, the house was clean and cozy, and while we never quite figured out the downstairs shower (or were maybe just impatient trying to figure it out), one good hot shower upstairs was plenty for our needs. We could hear the neighbors when they were on their deck but it was nothing abnormal or obnoxious. We miss it already; we will absolutely stay here again.

We got in late & were very tired The ease of getting into the cottage was very smooth. It is a charming cottage, but needs a couple home improvement issues addressed like the sliding door of the upstairs bedroom, one of the doors seemed to be off the hinge & the carpet downstairs has kind of an odor. I always travel with a diffuser, so no big deal. All in all, we had a lovely stay. Close to the beach, great location, quiet & peaceful. Would stay again. Thank you!

Incredible location, and has the basics you need to be comfortable. Like other reviewers have mentioned it’s very damp inside and a little dated, but we were never uncomfortable and it reminded us that what we came to Kauai for was to be outside on the beach or exploring outside of the house. Perfect home if you’re looking for location, ease, and focusing on spending your time on the island. Check in was super easy, laundry was wonderful, and staying there with our baby was great. I would stay here again!

Perfectly clean and comfortable. We stayed with our infant and toddler. The loud roosters were hard on our family in the mornings (starting at 3a), but that was a function of the location, not the property.

The location is amazing with beach access literally right across the street. My family had a great time on our beach adventure and this little house was the perfect place to rest and recharge and cook up some costco meals!

The location is five stars. The house is 1 or 2 stars. Here’s a list of things I wish we had known before booking. The house is perpetually damp - literally damp. I understand it’s tropical but very challenging to have damp sheets, floors and toilet paper. Zoom in closely on the windows and you’ll see louvers - these don’t fully close. Even though there are screens, the gnats, noise, moisture and lizards are a problem. We don’t mind the 2” anoles (after all, it’s tropical) but killed a few ants in clothing and relocated 6” geckos every day. Downstairs bathroom is a big collection since it’s open to the outside. The sofa bed was so painful that we put the mattress on the floor. The carpet and couches are stained, all of the cabinetry is so old that the doors don’t close and there are dead gnats everywhere. Even at a normal volume, we heard all of our neighbor’s conversations. We booked for four nights and after the first night I tried to reach vacasa with no response. It wasn’t so bad that I wanted to pay for a second vacation spot, but it is by far the most misrepresented vacation rental we have ever booked. I read the one bad review and discounted the issues. In hindsight, I think they were very generous in their review. If you are just booking for the beach and looking only for a place to crash, the location is excellent. If you are looking for a cozy cottage, to play games or cook and hang out as part of your vacation, keep looking.

So close to the beach. Very short walk to a great beach. The house was well equipped unless you needed spoons. The second bedroom is a pretty limited space, but it works. Nice layout for privacy and the grounds are great.

We had a great time because it was only about a two minute walk to the beach which was one of the primary reasons for selecting this property and one of the main reasons for our trip. The house is adequate but no more. It lacked a lot from our experience with other rentals form Vrbo (HomeAway) we had experienced previously.

This house was in a great home and location walking distance from the beach. It had a full stocked kitchen (non-food items) and the laundry was a nice bonus. Make sure you're ok without ac though as it gets pretty hot.

Beach across the street is amazing - sun and shade, snorkeling, swimming, and privacy. Close to Princeville and Hanalei, and Kilauea has a wonderful small up-scale village.

This place was exactly what our group (four adults) wanted--quiet, fun, close to a beach.

Great and secluded house steps away from Anini Beach. Quiet and backs onto jungle like setting, yet walk right across the street to the beach. House was well maintained and kept and was perfect for our family. Loved having the snorkel, beach toys and boogie boards available to use. Our only issues were that the kitchen sink leaked quite a bit when the faucet was turned on, and the bugs in the back bathroom freaked out my wife. Other than that we loved our stay and would definitely recommend it to other families.

Lovely Ohana and the separate quarters were perfect for privacy within a group. The layout of this home and privacy was really nice. Loved being across street from the ocean and the home was comfortable and well stocked. Would rent this place again for sure.
