The view is wonderful. Bathrooms are updated however the rest of the unit is not “lovely”. Pictures are staged and airbrushed. Kitchen drawers were broken and falling out. Back doors can’t be locked. When we contacted the management company, on numerous occasions, they gave us the run around. Disappointing as the fees for this property are high

I have rented from many vrbos and it's typically a very good experience. This condo has a property management company that we were underimpressed with. They send out way too many auto emails with bits and pieces of info. They don't use the vrbo messaging often, so it's harder to keep track of. They let us know a week ago that the in condo laundry was out. I asked for a partial refund for the inconvenience and got a reply that they were cancelling my stay as i requested but couldnt refund the $920 because it was less than a month out. After several back and forth emails, they reinstated my stay, but said they couldnt give me any money back because the listing doesnt mention the laundry. The guestbook shows another couple had the same issue recently and they changed the listing during those peoples stay. The shower doesnt drain well..fills up within a few minutes. Curtains stick and are hard to open. Much of the furniture is not what the pictures show. It's like visiting grandma's house. Bed is comfy.

The condo was unsecure. We had to carry our valuables with us when ever we left the room. The patio doors were installed backwards so there was no way to lock the patio doors.

My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay in Kona for our Honeymoon. The Iron man competition was going on at the exact time we were there, therefore we had some trouble getting around. Overall great stay!!

We recently stayed here. Nice location right on the ocean. Loved the lanai for sunsets and relaxing. A few issues: Master bathroom door has issues and needs to be fixed - doesn't shut correctly. Also the fan and light on the lanai didn't work or we couldn't figure out how to turn them on. No internet during our whole stay. They sent us a temporary network which also didn't work. No help from the property manager. That was frustrating. Also the kitchen could be updated.

We spent more time on the lanai than anywhere else. The ocean breezes put us in chill mode. This home is well equipped for a relaxing comfy vacation. Easy to enter the ocean for a swim or catch waves. Peaceful place to be.

Decent, but no air conditioning! Arriving hot and tired at the end of a long day to discover that the unit had no A/C was a big disappointment. It’s on us, because that information is available in the listing, but in a tropical location it wasn’t even something we thought to check for. Even if the temperature gets a bit lower at night and you have every fan going, it’s still humid and uncomfortable for sleeping. Our other problem was no Wifi. We were texted the wrong password (the right one was on paperwork in the unit), and were also texted that the wifi was out and it was an “island-wide” issue . . . but there was wifi in the lobby, so clearly not. Other than that, the unit was a mix of more updated (e.g. bathrooms) and in need of updating (e.g. kitchen). Overall it was comfortable, and the lanai was great and had spectacular views. (We stayed 3 nights in early May 2023.)

We have stayed at the Kona Bali Kai building many times over the last 15 years. Unit 207 did not disappoint. Clean unit with some island charm. Perfect views of the ocean from the Lanai and communication with Vacasa was amazing! No AC but don't let that deter you.... we've stayed in units with and without and quite honestly, the tradewinds kept us cool nicely.

We have stayed at Kona Bali Kai on several occasions and will return. The complex is showing its age but is well kept up. The location is hard to beat and the ocean is at your doorstep, literally! Whales, dolphins, turtles and surfers makes the time on your lanai an experience in itself!

Great view Clean Older unit, but many updates. Wi-Fi didn’t work, but who needs that on vacation. Nice breeze off the ocean. Watched whales right from our balcony. Poor taxi service in the area Was quiet Clean Very comfortable reclining lounge chairs Well equipped with lots of extras. Nice welcome snack bowl

We were transported by this beach resort. The crashing waves on the rocky beaches were a perfect soundscape for our winter Hawaiian retreat. Many afternoons were spent lounging on the lanai watching the surfers paddling out to sea. The open space was perfect for enjoying the fresh air and the tropical climate. The carpet runners need to be replaced due to their worn condition. However you can't beat the location! We loved our stay here and hope to return.

Owners trying best to keep up. Few things not working. Do note the property does not have AC, inside was very humid. Otherwise great place, with great view and very comfortable

We were concerned about not having air conditioning. We're the kind of people who turn down our AC to 65° at night, but all you have to do is open the sliding glass doors (to the AMAZING ocean view) and the front door and let the ocean breeze flow. This place was absolutely perfect. Clean. Beautiful view. Famous stuff break right outside where you can watch surfers. Convenient location.

Everything we needed. Full kitchen, washer, dryer. Comfortable bed. Listening to the surf at night is the best! Our favorite thing was sitting on the lanai (for meals and happy hour) and watching the surf and seeing nearby Lyman’s. When the surf is breaking, you have hours of entertainment watching the local surfers. Perfect spot for gorgeous sunsets.

This super clean and well appointed condo has everything you need for a week or two in Kona. Simple decor, plenty of cooking supplies, two nice bathrooms, and a view that will live on in your nest memories forever. We slept with the sliding doors open for 10 nights- waves just steps from the furnishes comfortable balcony, local surfers to watch day and night. Front row to the most spectacular sunsets- just wonderful. I highly recommend this condo for any couple looking to enjoy Hawiii’s Big Island like a local.

The original posted price was reasonable for the accommodations. We expected to pay for the unit, cleaning fee and taxes. However, when all the additional hidden fees were added on it wasn’t as good a value as other similar units

Took staycation here and loved it. Great place, even better view out back. Home feel to it. If not for an incident not specifying, this room is for sure 5 stars, it’s perfect for a couple or a small family.

I’m not sure why there are only 7 reviews for a property that was purchased by the current owners in the 70’s, but I do see that most of those 7 people really love this condo. Our experience was different. It is comfortable, it is right on the ocean and the view is wonderful, every night a sunset that is incredible. The unit however is in need of updates and maintenance. The staff is only on site between 10am and 4pm, which is likely when most people are away from the complex enjoying themselves. Our experience with communicating with Kelly was great, but there were quite a few things that needed attention and we didn’t want maintenance in our unit more than the the first time to make the tv and WiFi work, so we reported the problems and fixed some ourselves and asked them to attend to those things after we left. The oven doesn’t work properly, the refrigerator leaked the whole time we were there, a door wouldn’t shut, another came off it’s rail, a sink didn’t drain, etc. the kitchen has old appliances and cabinetry, showing it’s wear with dings and stains and rust. The pool is situated between 2 tall buildings, so the possibility of sun is minimal; it feels like an indoor pool. The garbage enclosure can be smelled for quite some distance. So our opinion is for the price we paid (the nightly cost is not bad, but you add the VRBO/Vacasa charges and it comes close to double what the nightly cost is) the value is definitely not there. We stayed a little north on Alii our first week and the value for what we paid was no comparison. So depending on what you want and what you’re willing to pay, this may or may not be the place for you.

This condo is perfect for 2. It was just my husband and me. We LOVED this location. Watching the surfers at The Banyan's is awesome. And the updates that have been done on this place are beautiful. BUT owners/Vacasa - please put a little money into this kitchen. The appliances are old - which I am OK with if they work, but the stove's settings are rubbed off, so first dinner we spent so much time trying to figure out settings. The can opener is from the 80's (its broken - but useable) and there is NO cookie sheet. The frying pans are ones that stick real bad, so lots of soaking before could get clean. We cook a lot so this was a downer. We also left spices/condiments. I am sure the maid takes what is in refrigerator (and may be a Vacasa rule) - but most condos we stay in have "something"esp condiments...this has salt/pepper, coffee filters, paper towels. We also left beach chairs and boogie board. Would like to see stuff left as this keeps people from buying and filling the land fills. Other than that Vacasa was very helpful - there was a power outage the first day and they called and left us a couple of messages on when it would get turned back on. The condo was very clean. We would absolutely rent this again!

My wife and I really loved this spot. We picked it for the view and it did not disappoint. Not only do you see the water right from the bedroom, sitting area and porch, but you can enjoy watching the surfers at one of the more popular surfing spots on the west side. Note: unless you're a surfer, it's definitely a "looking beach" not a swimming beach. But multiple great swimming beaches are just a few minutes away. All the good restaurants are also a short drive, location was awesome. My only "complaint"... would love it if they upgraded the kitchen a little bit. Some newer appliances and a little nicer kitchenware would've been nice, if you're cooking. But all the essentials are there. :) All in all, I can easily recommend this place.

Great condo by the ocean! We enjoyed watching and listening to the waves from the deck and the unit had everything needed to make our trip enjoyable.

This condo was amazing. Based on the second floor of the building, we had a clear view of the ocean just a max of 30 or so yards away. It was great to fall asleep to the sounds of the sea. No AC? No problem. With this condo, you don't need it. Instead, air circulation is the best and so relaxing. A great recommendation for a good price for anyone willing to experience the Big Island.
