Had trouble finding things and using the TV. Surprised when we were threatened by the host. Towels smelled of very strong chemicals/perfume so we washed them. Sheets we washed too. Floor could definitely be cleaner and bathroom functionality is borderline. Still, the kitchen is great and mornings at the table and the view we really enjoyed.

Such a wonderful propety to spend some time at. We enjoyed this unit very much. Perfect for a couple, but could accomodate 2 couples with the pull out.
Pictures are exactly like the property listed.
We had no issues with anything at all, super clean and in such a fantastic location. With near by bars, restaurants stores and such.
Close to stops to pick up tours so no real need for a car.
We can not wait until the next time. We will be back and stay here again.

Property is just as described. My bestie and I came to Hawaii, the first time for us both, to celebrate our birthdays. This condo is walking distance to the beach, restaurants and shops. The only reason I gave a 4 stars for cleanliness instead of 5 is because we found roaches running around every time we came back from being out. Not sure if it has to do with the hot and humid climate. Overall a great experience and highly recommend!

Very convenient location. Perfect relative to grocery shopping at the Food Pantry. Food land is a not too far walk. All of the services available at the Hilton Hawaiian Village are convenient. Be sure to try The Grove in the Modern since there is a 2nd floor bridge that takes you right there. Bus stops in all directions a block away.

Great location and well stocked, especially with beach provisions. Definitely would only stay here with max two people - the pullout couch is uncomfortable and slopes downhill, but the main bed was quite agreeable. Also, the adjacent unmanned parking garage is difficult to navigate. If there is an event at Waikiki (which there was three of our nights) it can take more than 30 minutes just to enter the garage. The ticket reader at the exit also broke once trapping a long line of cars in the garage for a time.

Lovely stay at the Ilikai Marina. Nice location. Could walk to restaurants and beaches. I highly recommend. The only downside is the parking lot. Very difficult to pay and navigate the “In and Out” rate. We ended up paying for an extra day of parking because there was a line of cars behind us waiting to Exit the lot. The views were awesome! Access was very easy. You most definitely want to use your google maps when you are walking downtown. If you are driving, you most definitely will need to have gps on just to know all the one ways are or you will be going in circles. Lots to do!

Janna’s condo was great for our anniversary trip to Hawaii. The view was gorgeous! She was very responsive with our questions and minor issues.
I only give 4 stars because the condo building did not have a pool. We were able to use the pool next door secretly though, which was awesome. We also were also disappointed that the Outback that we thought was in the building was now a Red Lobster. The parking garage is $28 I think every day, which is steep and there is no attendant there ever to ask questions. Overall, we had a great stay and appreciate Janna’s hospitality!

The condo itself is as pictured but it overlooks the harbor which is full of trash. There were cockroaches in the kitchen on the counters at night. There is no information book about the property and the Wi-Fi info was very hard to find. Other than that, it’s centrally located and walking distance to the beach and downtown. Next time I’ll find a place with a pool though.

This is an old building but this unit was nicely decorated and clean. I loved sitting out on the lanai every morning with a cup of coffee and every evening with a glass of wine. Seeing the fireworks on Friday night from the lanai was awesome! We didn’t cook much except eggs for breakfast but the kitchen is well stocked with plenty of cooking utensils and pots/pans and also with spices, etc. This building is within walking distance of my cousin’s place, Pau Hana, and he’s the one who recommended the building to us. We were greeted by 3 roaches in the cupboard and on the kitchen floor upon arrival & everyday after. Obviously, this set a crappy first impression & sour mood at the start of our trip since we actually use the kitchens in the places we stay at. Now, every pan, dish, utensil & counters needs to be washed PRIOR to using them.
She knew about the roaches as evidenced by roach traps under the kitchen sink & roach spray in closets. Thereafter, we saw roaches everyday in and around the kitchen.
The roach problem was due to a leak under the kitchen sink which ended up all over the kitchen floor. She had a pan already placed under the leak which meant that this was also known.
The leak was handled immediately but the handyman was disgusting, leaving dirty tools & gloves all over the counters. DISGUSTING!
The kitchen is described as a gourmet kitchen. It's not. The freezer that is part of the fridge is broken so now there's a freezer in the utility closet. The whole apt shows signs of wear.
As for ethical business practice & behavior, this owner falls WAY short. Months ago, she agreed on a specific amount to refund due to a cancelled trip when COVID hit. The refund was to be issued upon check in on this trip. We actually had to pay for this reservation even though we had already paid. Yes, the owner made us DOUBLE PAY. That was the first strike. Then when we were issued the refund, it was less than the stated amount. In effect, the owner's word was and is worthless.

The check in process was smooth, parking in the building was horrible. The entrance and exit were constantly blocked by other cars. But it’s not really relevant to this listing.
The location was great, walkable to Waikiki and shops.
Communication and support from the host was great! We had some emergency, Janna was very helpful with our concerns and situation, we were grateful!
The cleanliness was overall alright. We saw 2 roaches but I understood it could happen.

The good reviews are right - this is a great place to stay and perfect for us! The condo is shown well by the photos, the view is so interesting and the location is great.
Tips: 1) the Bus stops on the corner nearby and is super convenient; 2) take note that you'll need to use an app on your phone to do the laundry.
Janna was immediately responsive and helpful with a few things we contacted her about. Highly recommended!

The pictures online are deceiving, the place is old and needs updating. The balcony is approximately 2 ft X 3ft, the bathroom is so tiny, you can barely get in tub/shower and I am small. There are no black out drapes so the sun shine in until it goes down. There is no television in the bedroom and the A/C barely works. There are plenty of roaches and their fix is a can of Roach killer for you to spray. The only positive is the host respond to you very quickly. We couldn't wait to leave.

We stayed for 3 weeks and enjoyed it very much.
The condo is well equipped with everything you need for your stay. It is in a great location with a short walk to the middle of Waikiki. We loved the view of the harbor with lots going on, the lanai is very small so we did not sit out but that did not spoil our time there.
Janna is a great host and she is very quick to reply to any questions I had.

This was an amazing trip for my family. This condo was beyond perfect! So close to Waikiki beach and a little walk to the Ala Moana Center. The washer and dryer are no longer in the apartment. Paid machines upstairs.
The property is a little dated but suited our needs. Very comfortable for a couple.

This was our fourth year in a row staying here and we will most certainly continue to come back! We love this little spot in paradise! It is just right for myself and my husband. We walk to Foodland or Target to get groceries and other essentials at the Ala Moana Center. Most days we pack up lunch and our beach chairs and walk down to the beach to just relax and hang out. If you take the goggles you can easily swim out to the reef nearby and see tons of fish and turtles. When we do want to explore the island we rent a HUI which is located right in the connected parking structure.
This was our first year having any issues. The freezer stopped working. Janna quickly had a new one delivered. She was so quick to respond to my message and make sure it was all handled well.
10/10 would recommend!!

This condo was as depicted. Beach chairs, towels, etc. were provided which was very helpful. Any issues were promptly addressed by the owner. Cleaning crew could be a little more detailed cleaning counters & cabinet doors, otherwise a nice place to stay with Ala Moana Center within walking distance for groceries, etc.

Looks exactly like the photos. Easy in and out and had no problem finding parking.
If you’re not in to all the crowds, you can sunbathe at the lagoon. It’s a nice walk down the beach for more action. The bed was literally the most comfortable I have ever slept in, and the pillows were dreamy.
It’s about a $40 Uber from the airport. We would definitely stay here again.

If you are lucky, you might get coveted parking pass from owner but please be aware it is shared between several properties so it is not guaranteed. Daily rate in adjacent parking garage is now $28, but is extremely convenient with almost direct access to condo from 7th floor.
The view, the view, the view!!! Corner unit with all windows, for sunset n watching the hustle n bustle of the harbor. Kitchen is well appointed. Very small issue is lack of an ice maker in fridge, but you can easily pick up ice across street at abc for the beach cooler. The a/c is one of the strongest ive felt in a hawaii condo and i have stayed in many on all the hawaii islands. Magic island and its calm lagoon and the gargantuan ala moana shopping center are walking distance within a mile!
We would definitely rebook this unit again!

Check in was easy and the unit was well stocked. The location has its plusses and minus’ depending on what you are looking for. It is a corner unit on a busy street corner in front of the marina so it’s a short walk to the beach instead of like the hotels that are right on the beach and there is quite a bit of traffic going to the marina. The unit is a bit dated but clean. Everything worked as expected. View is nice.

This property made it a great stay in Waikiki. The condo was clean and tidy as advertised. We had a few bags on this trip and the location of this condo made quite easy to drop off and re-load. It was warm all week and the AC made it very comfortable. The communication with the owner of this property was great. She answered all questions promptly and made sure our stay was up to our liking. The location of this property was at the beginning of Waikiki and an easy walk to the beach stray which we did every morning. This property is relatively quiet even though at times you can hear street noise quite clearly. The elevators that we used everyday to / from the property was great, the floor location made very easy and quick. We used the parking on the street outside the property which was easy to find a space and cheaper than the garage at $1 per hour. The only down of this property, if that, is the dated entrance to the unit itself; it could use a refresh in the hallway. All said and done a 5 star stay. Thanks Janna!

The property had great views (really....they are great!), and it is clear the owner/manager wants very much to have a great location. The bed was pretty comfy, and the kitchen is well-appointed. However, there were several problems that made it hard for me to give a good score. Before we arrived, we were told the washer was not working and would need repair during our trip. No problem...I appreciated the communication from the host, and it was a mild inconvenience to have someone come mid-stay to work on it. We did not get a pool pass as promised in the listing, but I was uncomfortable lying about staying in the adjoining property in order to use their pool anyway (as you will have to do, if you want to use the pool, according to the host, because there is not one on the condo property itself). Parking was a little more than we were told. The condo location is good - an easy walk to lots of places - and there are several beach items on site to use, which was nice. But, it isn't very quiet, especially as there was loud protesting going on nearby early one morning, and there is a good amount of traffic by the marina. The condo is clean enough, but there were a few issues (ants in the kitchen upon arrival; one roach; very slow draining in the tub due to hair clogging the drain; dusty trim). The smoking area is just outside the condo entrance, and if you run the bathroom exhaust, it reeks of cigarettes. The host asks you to help out the cleaning crew by doing some of the laundry before leaving and seemed appreciative of our patience with the leaky washer and inconvenience of having a maintenance call during the trip. However, I was very disappointed that the host does not extend the same generous consideration when I left a clothing item in the room, as she expected a handling fee in addition to shipping costs (that much I was happy to pay), making it so that I would pay more than the item was worth to get it back. Considering I did not get what I was promised in the listing but did not demand compensation or even that they work around my schedule, I believe it would have been a kind gesture to also help return a lost item without expecting significant additional payment. Overall, even without considering the broken washer and the lost item issue, I do not think I would recommend this rental to friends or family, all things considered.

This condo was spotlessly clean and had a beautiful view of the marina and Waikiki Beach (wrap-around view). Very convenient location, within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. Five minute walk to Hilton Hawaiian Village and Hale Koa (military hotel). I was there as a solo traveler for a week and the condo was perfect for me. I felt the building was very safe- I never felt uncomfortable. Large King bed which was super comfortable. Fully stocked kitchen with plates, pots and pans, silverware, glasses, etc. There was plenty of parking available on floor 7 of the attached parking garage. Very friendly communication with the condo owner. Would stay here again without hesitation.

The condo was a nice one bedroom and was well stocked with everything you would need. There were a lot of beach items (chairs, umbrellas, coolers, ) You could walk to two beaches and others just a short drive away. There were a lot of restaurants near by and we had dinner at The Chart House which is in the building. There is a small convenience store and McDonald's across the street. If you are renting a vehicle would definitely recommend paying for the parking pass which allows you to park in the garage.

It was easy access to the highway so we could head to the Northshore & Hawaii Kai where we spent a lot of our time. This unit is in a great location with easy access to the beach, marina, Waikiki, restaurants. The sun sets and view if the harbor are also great and the view is always changing. This is our third time staying here, we absolutely love it! The condo has everything we need and is within walking distance to pretty much anyplace we want to go. We also discovered on this trip that we could rent a car through HUI with pick up and drop off in the condo’s parking structure. The best addition to this trip though was being able to watch whales breaching in the ocean from the lanai! We will most certainly be back!

This delightful 7th floor apartment is accurately described in the web site. It is located at the Ilikai Marina condos, which has a view of the Ala Wai Boat Harbor and ocean beyond. The large Ala Moana Regional Park is a short walk, as are Waikiki beaches in the opposite direction. It was very clean and communication with Janna went flawlessly. We used the excellent Honolulu bus system to get around. There is a bus stop a very short walk from the apartment. Their system is integrated with Google Maps so you only need to plug in your destination and it provides you the bus options. Much nicer than messing with a car.
The location was ideal for us. We took the bus directly to Pearl Harbor, China Town, the Bishop Museum and Waikiki. We also walked the beach walkways to Waikiki. The massive, high-end, Ala Moana Shopping Center is a 15-minute walk and well worth it for finding unique restaurants that are nice alternatives to the over-priced resort/hotel fare.

Overall the experience was good. There was one day there was very loud hammering and drilling next door. The condo is small with a lot of stuff. Think owner is trying to accommodate for everything which is nice.
The marina below is pretty dirty with trash in and out of the water and there is a man that juggles early every morning and plays loud music.

Do not pay this premium price believing you will receive the described "luxury designer decor." In person this unit has a dated appearance. The dryer did not work during my entire 16 night stay. The kitchen's overhead fluorescent tube lighting either did not work at all or only a few tube lights worked. The sub-zero refrigerator has to be 20+ years old with no ice maker and both ice cube trays had cracks and leaked. I let the housekeeper Julie know so that the next renter may get new ice cube trays. The kitchen faucet is loose at its base with tape to keep the retractable head in place. The advertised "Spa Tub!" It is an old bathtub with zero functioning spa features. Not one of the six jets works. The tile flooring is the same on the bathroom wall and shower. The bathroom counter is oddly low, really low. All the counters in the kitchen and bathroom are a beige-rose corian that appear to have survived the last renovation. As I walked past the bed, one of its plastic decorative gold details popped off the bed frame. Fortunately, it snapped back on. The advertised show of "Fireworks (every Friday night)!" was canceled close to two years ago with no date to resume. There is more but the review limits the number of words. Julie the housekeeper is a doll. The owner is snarky. I've never written a negative review before and I'm not the only one who has had a negative experience with this owner - check "Janna Macdowall" under "ripoffreport.com." VRBO won't let me put the link..
If you select this unit, deal only with Julie. Avoid the owner.

My only hesitation about saying all the wonderful things I have to say about our stay is that it will be harder to book this perfect vacation spot. We loved everything about our stay. My husband cooked a Thanksgiving meal for Our grandson and his college friends. Everything we needed was there. The toaster had a problem and our call was answered on the night before the holiday. The toaster was replaced on Black Friday. The assistant even tried to find one on Thanksgiving!!! We can't wait to return and will plan our next visit to our Grandson based on this condo's availability.

You have everything from spices to bath products in the apartment.The property manager was reachable during and after the stay and was very helpful.
The only advise I have is to talk to the manger and confirm the parking arrangement. I spoke to the manager but failed to ensure the parking ticket was booked for me before I went there. Not much of a loss as the regular fee per day is $23 and with the arrangement its about $15. They still reached out to provide the ticket within a day but I had only two days at the stay so I decided to just pay the full amount.

It was wonderful to have a washer and dryer to wash our clothes before we went home. Plenty of detergent that was supplied. We happen to meet the wonderful and Informative housekeeper. She gave us some great restaurant advise and food shopping locations. Would definitely go back and recommend this condo.

We really enjoyed our stay. Property Manager (PM) had a bed inflated and waiting for my son to sleep on upon arrival. PM thought of everything, had umbrellas, beach chairs, beach towels, sunscreen, one of the closets had a fold out drying rack for towels, snorkel gear, boogie boards, robes in the master bedroom closet, the kitchen was well stocked, including a coffee maker,. The PM clearly does a good job at keeping the property maintained. Upon arrival there was a crack in the mirror in the living area;however, the property manager was aware of it and let us know via a note showing she went through the property the day before we arrived. The only cons I would say us the restaurant downstairs. They have live music that can be loud but I think it is only on weekends.

This condo has everything. Beach towels, beach chairs, hair dryer, both laundry and dishwasher detergent, sunscreen, cooking oils, any dish or utensil you could possibly need… the list goes on. We were so impressed by this condo. Great location, incredible view, beautiful surroundings.
The only issue we had was that the shower water temperature was not consistent.

We enjoyed our stay at the Ilikai Marina condo. You have great views of the marina and the Hilton lagoon and you can watch the surfers in the morning. It's in a good location so you are in a less busy area of Waikiki but close enough to get to most things. It is a good space for two people with a full kitchen complete with cookware. The photos accurately represent the space. Wifi was good. AC was good once you figure it out. Furniture was generally good. The patio is really too small to be comfortably used. The only time I had any contact with the owner was when was she needed me to do something for the condo; I think that could have been avoided for another time. All in all, I would stay here again.

I almost don't want to write this review because I want to make sure this condo is available next time we go back to Hawaii and I know when people discover it the dates will all get booked! Truly the perfect place to stay. This was our second time staying here and we are already looking at when we can go back. Condo's location is absolutely fantastic, short walk to the beach and beautiful view! Everything you need is supplied and with grocery delivery we were set for a relaxing week in paradise!

This condo was amazing. The views from the corner windows were breathtaking. We actually took more pictures from the condo than we did on all our adventures around Oahu. The condo is nicely decorated, clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The bed was very comfortable. The washing machine is small, so don't wait until the last minute to do your wash. If I were critique anything, it is the solid doors on the shower, which make it very dark. And, we constantly banged our knees against the corners of the glass top coffee table in the living room. But, that could just be our clumsiness. Having stayed in Waikiki several times, we found this to be our best experience yet.

The apartment is located within walking distance of Waikiki Beach, the Alo Moana shopping centre, the new Wholefoods market in Kahala. There is a bus stop close by, regularly servicing these areas and additionally, the Airport and Diamond Head. Well equipped, clean, comfortable with great attention to detail. A spectacular open view over the Marina and the Hilton lagoon pool and ocean. Anyone sensitive to noise may not appreciate the sound during the evening with a bar/restaurant located on the ground level and the motor bike touring start point, directly across the road. However, this did not detract from the positives offered by this apartment. Janna, the owner, promptly reponded to all emails and requests and obviously cares about her guests and takes great pride in the standard of accomodation she offers. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely like to return when next visiting Honolulu. We would recommend this apartment to friends.

We had a great two weeks in this apartment. It is in such a good location and was good value for money with all the extras that were provided such as beach chairs, snorkelling equipment, sun block etc.
We enjoyed the balcony watching people come and go from the marina.
We cooked many meals in the well equipped kitchen and slept very well in the comfortable bed.
We would return and hope to do so soon!

This condo is very comfortable. The kitchen is extremely well stocked, plenty of fresh towels, beach chairs boogie boards all in great condition. Location is perfect. 5 minute walk to Ala Moana shops or easy 20 minute stroll to the city shops or jump on a bus. The only thing is the traffic noise but Janna supplies earplugs which help a lot. And maybe smaller than what we thought but that was not a problem. Would definitely stay here again

We enjoyed this condo. It was not not a luxury condo but it was nice and had some nice features. The views are outstanding. The location was great - close enough to everything but off the beaten path.. Well-equipped kitchen although we ate out most of the time. Janna was very attentive to our calls or emails and we would definitely rent this condo again.

we really enjoyed our stay in 780 - we had the best time. Janna responded very quickly to our questions and gave us very detailed instructions, including great suggestions for places to eat, drink and tour.
the Condo was everything I expected as per the description on the net + a whole lot more!
the view was amazing and we loved the front row seats for the spectacular fire works on Friday night
There were lots of special little unexpected extras included that we really appreciated and which made our visit more comfortable - e.g.
the welcome ocean music as we opened the door- heaven - really got us into holiday mode, the chocolates on the pillows, the beautiful mandarin products , the kettle ,the paper towels - soo handy,the cling and foil wraps,the salt + pepper, the washing machine & products, the beach chairs, the umbrellas for the rainy day (yes it does sometimes rain in Paradise) and lots of soft towels. We really only needed to bring our suitcase and ourselves - everything else was there
We will certainly be back again to enjoy this gem.

Upon entry to this unit we were disappointed. It was much smaller than we anticipated from the photos and looking tired. In need of a fresh coat of paint. Some fixtures/fittings like the bathtub need replacing.
Cleaning up a minor spill soon after we entered, revealed a dirty floor. Using the mop pad available, we mopped the floor 3 times. Each time machine washing the mop pad. At the end of the 3rd floor mop, the mop pad was clean enough to bring our mopping to an end.
The balcony, which we were looking forward to having our morning coffee, breakfast and dinners out on was sooo tiny. Sitting n supping out there was a very cosy experience to put it mildly. Topped off by it overlooking a dirty waters edge. The marina was lined with litter and debris.
On the plus side, we were very grateful for the unit's natural light level. The view out to sea beyond the marina. The comfy furnishings, especially the large lounge and bed/pillows. The blender, air con, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, spacious fridge, easy to operate stove/oven, decent pots, pans and utensils. And being able to park our rental car on the same floor as the unit. Just metres away for $20 USD per 24 hours.
We also appreciated the unit's quiet (no noise from nearby restaurants) and central location. That a walk up the road, along the marina's edge, for five to ten minutes, landed us at a lovely park to walk around or swim at its beach. This park is opposite the main shopping centre, The Ala Moana shopping centre.
A 3 minute walk down the road, by the marina's edge, is the Hilton's lagoon for a refreshing dip, with the beach just beyond.
Bus stops for the Waikiki area, the Ala Moana shopping centre and Honolulu we were glad to find, are also nearby. Quite literally two or three minutes easy walk. Just a couple of dollars will get you to most places in the region. We left a bus route directory/timetable in the unit for future guests, hoping it will be as useful to others as it was for us during our week long stay.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay here because of all we appreciated above but felt we paid too much (especially converting the cost from USD to AUD being Sydney Australia dwellers) for what the unit now is. Nicely furnished. Surrounded by fixtures n fittings that now need updating/replacing/repainting.

We spent 31 nights here between August and September. Loved every minute. We have been coming to Waikiki regularly and have always looked at renting this condo, but it has always been booked out, until this trip. Now know why. It is perfect. The condo was just the same as pictures and very clean. Janna was very helpful and answered our questions very promptly. One of the added benefits for us was having a washing machine (and dryer). Sad that my life has come down to a washing machine! (Only joking). Friday night fireworks were just great from Lanai. It was very hard for us to leave, but know we will be back.
