We took our family of five to Maui to celebrate Christmas. The house was perfect. Michael was a great host, gifting us a fresh pineapple, Christmas cookies, & multiple ideas for how to spend our time on the island. Being able to walk out the back door onto the beach anytime we wanted was the best!

This house is everything and MORE! We had an amazing time and Mike was a pure pleasure to work with. The house is equipped with everything you need as well as most things you could want! There are chairs, umbrellas, water shoes, flippers, snorkels, sand toys, and boogie boards! You can show up with a bathing suit and be ready to hit the beach.
The yard was wonderful! A volleyball net, bocce balls, and comfortable chairs make for a truly enjoyable day. When you’re done in the grass you can run straight to the beach. We had no less than 3 green sea turtles swimming in the surf with us, every day, right off the beach. And the whale shows were incredible. Sunsets, whales and turtles made our vacation top notch.
And to top it all off, you are close to everything in Kihei!
Thanks Mike.

We stayed at this house 5 years ago and vowed to return. The host, Michael, is a wonderful host! He is helpful in every way. The property is perfect for watching sunsets, turtles, and whales from his yard. We hope to return!

Property was perfect for our family! Unit 1 had two bedrooms and a fold-out couch in the living room. Host Michael was wonderful to chat with. Lots of history in the area and good recommendations for things to do. Wonderful to walk out the back door across a green lawn and be right on the beach. Saw turtles as well as some whales in the distance. Adult kids spent time in the water. Used it as a homebase for seeing all of Maui, but certainly could have spent a lot of time here relaxing and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.

Perfect beach front location in Kihei, minutes away from many restaurants and grocery shopping. We had a fabulous time and Michael was a great host.

This was our first trip to Maui and Michael made us feel immediately at home. As soon as we arrived we saw the sunset from behind the house just as the picture in the listing shows. Michael was extremely helpful in giving us places to go and explore. Additionally the property has a variety of beach accessories, snorkel gear, water shoes, backyard toys and much more. The property’s location close to many stores made it easy to run out if we needed to get anything. Overall it was an amazing trip and Michael and the property made it a perfect experience.

My wife, 3-year-old and I stayed in the bottom floor two-bedroom unit. The property is beautiful, with a long grass lawn that leads to a low-traffic beach. We happened to be the only unit occupied during our stay so it felt very private. There is more than enough room for everyone even if the other 2 units were booked.
The location is excellent and we will likely book out the entire house for a larger family stay next time we visit Maui.
The owner was extremely friendly.

Quiet, away from traffic noise
Beautiful, semi private beach, coconut palms
Owner, Mike, was as wonderful as his property.
Best place I’ve ever stayed.

We absolutely loved our stay! Michael was extremely kind and our communication was perfect. The property is super clean and up to date. The yard and ocean are like something on a post card. Honestly it was so picturesque. The location is perfect. Close to so many things. It’s pretty easy to get around the island with a car, and this location is perfectly in the middle. I highly recommend a stay here & we cannot wait to go back!!!

We had a wonderful stay, the location of the home is the best part. I walked the beach every morning and saw a turtle or 2 on the beach. Hi home is right on the beach, easy access to parking, and great amenities within the house. Michael has thought of everything for his guests, a grill, beach chairs, towels, fins, coolers, an ice machine, stocked kitchen, it's a wonderful home. I will tell all my family and friends and definitely stay here again! Five Stars for sure!

Great property location at the end of the street with a long sloping lawn to the beach. Sunsets every night from the end of the property to the water. The beach is uncrowded and feels private. The unit is equipped with everything you need. We loved our stay here.

This was one of our best VRBO experiences. The Owner was very helpful and responsive. The house was set up with all the beach equipment: chairs, boogie boards, snorkel/goggles, towels. The location is very close to restaurants and grocery. Everything was clean and in good working order. This particular rental is a portion of a larger house, so you share the incredible backyard with the other units. We felt like the units are separated well with no sound issues. Each unit has it's own separated outdoor patio area that face directly out to the backyard and beach. We would highly recommend this rental!

We loved this place. Turtle and whale watching right from the backyard/beach. Plenty of beach gear for adults and kids. A grill, volleyball net and other outdoor amenities are available. Great air circulation in the house with air conditioners if needed. One thing to note is that sound travels in this house, so make sure you like your travelling companions. We would come back here with family and friends again in a heartbeat. Kind and generous hosts!

We stayed here in Feb 2018. We had 3 adults and 2 small children in our group and everyone had a wonderful time. The condo is comfortable and cozy. The kids loved the big grassy lawn and lawn toys, and the proximity to the beach couldn't be better! The beach is pretty calm, so those looking for big waves to surf or boogie board might be disappointed. Was perfect for the kids, though. There is also a bit of rock and coral here and there, but the condo was generously stocked with water shoes to safeguard against poked toes. We found better snorkeling in Wailea (using the equipment provided by the condo owners!), but the backyard beach offered great views of turtles in and out of the water. Twice we observed turtles resting in the sand. The condo is also walking distance to dinner, desert, and groceries. Kihei isn't the most charming beach town - it's more a residential area with strip malls rather than cute, beachy boutiques like you'd find up in Lahaina. That said, we were very comfortable and loved going to the local fruit stands. We hope we get to come back!!

Loved staying here. Mike has the place setup with everything you should need. Super convenient spot to explore the whole island from.

Mike has done a great job keeping the home nice. While it isn’t “fancy” the property was well taken care of and has had some nice upgrades. We were able to grill outside and Mike provided a lot of water toys so we didn’t have to rent them. Our kids can’t wait to go back!!

Spacious, clean, great kitchen, outside shower very handy! Mike, the landlord, put a lot of effort to ensure his guests has maximum fun: available for free: snorkeling gears, water shoes, body board, volley ball and net, badmington, beach towels.kihei is still my favorite location to stay. From there, you can drive easily to anywhere on the island.there are plenty of grocery stores, farmers markets and restaurants close by.
And right on the beach in the backyard, we saw 2 turtles sunbathing, and 3 swimming. Lots of birds too.

We recently spent 12 nights at Al’s Paradice. It was the perfect location for our family- quiet, private and conducive to really kicking back and relaxing. The huge lawn between the suite and the ocean was a wonderful place for our boys, 2 and 3.5 years old, to explore, run and play. The beach in front was shaded in the mornings which was another bonus. We saw turtles right out front as well as lots of little sand crabs.
The suite itself was clean, spacious and well designed for a family of four. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything- and more- than we needed to prepare our meals. The condiments were a bonus. The bbq was very clean and worked fantastically.
We were very impressed with the assortment of water toys- snorkels, boogie boards, floaty things, life jackets, sand toys and even water shoes! We didn’t need to rent anything which was nice as meant less running around.
The location itself is nice as it’s just minutes from a few different grocery stores and a farmers market. Michael was a great host and is a wealth of local knowledge.
We would definitely rent Al’s Paradice again! And with up to four suites available it would be a fantastic location to have a bigger family get together.

This is a place we would return to! We couldn't believe our eyes when we walked in - the backyard is like a hotel, but better because it's all yours. A huge expanse of grass with palm trees and the beach at the end of the grass. Pictures cannot do it justice. And don't be scared off by the low price - this place is first class! It was spotlessly clean and in perfect shape. Michael is a fantastic host - we had everything we could want - beach toys (including water shoes and snorkel gear for lots of people), grill, plenty of dishes, a fully equipped kitchen. He even provided the coins and the detergent for the 'coin-operated laundry'! All you really need are your clothes and a swimsuit and a car. Kihei is centrally located - not too far to drive to anyplace on Maui, but still great beaches. This friendly neighborhood is about 4 blocks long and there are houses for sale on the same side of the street for $4 million. It's only a block off the main drag (Times grocery store in walking distance), but it's quiet and you never hear street noise as the house is in a cul-de-sac. If you walk to the other end of the neighborhood, there is a large park as well. We stayed in the spacious 2-bedroom unit (one king and two twin beds). The house has 4 units total. The other unit for rent in the house (both newly remodeled) is a one-bedroom that sleeps 2. The other two units are not yet remodeled and not for rent yet (upstairs). Would be great for extended family to rent both downstairs units and share the great backyard. Sunsets were amazing. We had the place to ourselves during Thanksgiving week. Special tip: if you want to drive up and see the sunrise from the top of Haleakala, you now need a reservation as they are limiting the number of cars from 3 - 7 am. Check the web for details.

Selfishly I want to keep this hidden gem of a property to myself and not give a good review...BUT I can't do that to Mike!! The property itself is idyllic, and a perfection location. It's minutes to the busier part of Kihei, but leaves you in a quieter and less touristy part of town. The property itself has 150yds of green space with a volleyball net, hammock and even an outdoor shower to rinse off....all that space leads right up to the beach. What's even more perfect about the location is that we had our little oceanfront to ourselves the entire time. The beach was perfect for the kids (2.5 and 6 yrs), water was bath tub temperature. Early mornings were perfect for both flat water SUP and when there was a little bit more action some small surfing with the paddle board (rented elsewhere). The scenic views of the SW side of the island was amazing. Sea turtles were all over the place and would beach themselves at night right in front of the house.
Mike is an amazing caretaker. The property has pretty much everything you need to enjoy Maui - snorkels & fins, beach towels, beach chairs, umbrellas...if you think you need it to have an excellent vacation chances are Mike has it. He went above and beyond for us too, our 2.5 yr old was a little squirrelly at meal times and Mike went out a got a high chair.
Tropical vacations are always great. Truth be told, this was truly a memorable trip and that was in large part because of this perfect property and the aloha spirit that Mike exudes.
We'll definitely be returning and we're even planning on having family reunions at Mike's property for years to come.

Mike’s place in Kihei is wonderful for adults and kids. The lovely lawn to the beach is peaceful in the early morning and a beautiful spot for sunset picnic dinner. The quiet beach is delightful for watching turtles up close, hours of sand castles, swimming and paddleboarding. You can drive to good snorkeling, but otherwise, why leave Mike’s paradise at all? The house is comfortable with a kitchen full of appliances, a big covered porch for reading with lounge chairs and a picnic table, an outdoor shower, and tons of beach and backyard equipment. And Mike is a wonderful host who grew up in the house and knows everything about the island.

We have had a spectacular time in Michael's place. It is such a great location - very quiet, a beautiful lawn with palm trees leading out to the ocean, beautiful sunsets, very well stocked house - everything you could want. Michael s very friendly and so easy to work with. We are a family of 4 - but our "kids" are 20 and 23. They had a great time, as well. I really can't say enough good things about staying here. We will definitely return. Thanks so much, Michael. Loved it!!
