The condo building and interior were excellent. Location is a short walk to the pool, and just a bit further beyond the pool to the beach. The beach was good for swimming / bobbing. It wasn't good for snorkeling or boogie boarding but maybe the waves were just low when we went.
My only complaint is that the twin beds are absolutely terrible. They are not suitable for anyone but children. My 36 year old brother chose to sleep on the couch instead of that bed.

Generally it was lovely. We had to adjust sleeping arrangements due to listing of two double beds which in fact were two single beds. Also one of the king beds squeaked so loudly that it could be heard with every movement of the occupant. Other minor issues: half of the toaster was unuseable and ice did not come out of the ice maker. Despite issues, we had a wonderful time.

My husband, kids and in-laws all stayed in this gorgeous three bedroom. It was well appointed, had everything we needed, and had very easy access to both a pool and beach at A-bay. The owner was very responsive to any questions, I would definitely recommend.

Great location and a beautiful property. The property manager was easy to contact and was very responsive to questions about the penthouse and the amenities. Excellent access to the beach, a wonderful pool that the grandchildren loved and easy walking distance to Queen's Marketplace and Kings Shops. We appreciated the property manager allowing us a very late checkout for an additional reduced rate on the final day as we had a late flight out that evening.

This property is very nice for a family get away. Pool area easy to access with plenty of seating. Third bedroom has two twin beds and very small bathroom. If sharing with three couples one couple would have a very different experience. Mattresses in this room a little tired. The balcony is amazing with a beautiful breeze. Amenities were terrific. Shared lots of small items so you didn’t have to worry about little things like paper towels etc.

This was our 6th time staying in the Kolea Landing condos and in this bock of units. 2F was great and a perfect place to bring new friends to the island. We had some minor issues with the AC but the property manager was on it fast and took care of the issue. Sitting out on the lanai and watching the sun come up is our favorite thing about this floorplan and the walks around A-Bay and the fish ponds is a daily treat.

Our family of 4 and our friend family of 5 stayed at this location for 7 days, 6 nights. Location, place and amenities are all great. Our kids enjoyed the pool a lot, which is short walking distance from the condo. Also the view from the balcony, you can see Hawaiian sunset every evening from there. By far the best Vrbo property we stayed in and we travel a lot.
Our host Barry was great, He was very responsive. I went to the wrong building ( the one right next to it ) on one day and he came out quickly to the property to help me get into the property quick. Also our flight was delayed by over 4 hour and Barry allowed us to stayed extra hours so that our kids can enjoy the pool one last time. I would come back and stay here again in the Future!

We really enjoyed our stay in Aug 2022. The property is as advertised - well decorated and well appointed. The unit is large with plenty of room for 6 people. The Lanai was fantastic - we cooked and ate out there regularly and enjoyed the spectacular sunsets over the ocean every evening. The kitchen was well equipped, and there were everything form bikes to beach gear in the garage. We loved the Kolea complex with a great pool and beach club, nice paths along the ocean for walking and access to a beautiful large beach in front of the Marriott. The Queens and Kings shopping malls were within walking distance (or a very short drive) as were the restaurants at the Marriott and the Hilton. We'll definitely be back!

The beautiful gas grill in the photos was not working. There was a very small electric grill in its place that we didn’t even use. We love Hawaii for the fresh fish markets and grilling seafood and bbqing our meals. We chose this property largely because of the beautiful patio and cooking area. There seemed to be no sense of urgency to fix this issue or compensate us for this disappointing inconvenience. And to make things worse the interior island stove has a pop up ventilation system that was also not working.. A repair person did show up to look at this (at supper time) but was unable to repair it. Also the four bikes pictured in the garage were not rideable because of broken seats/handle bars, missing pedal, and flat tires. I get things break down but I expected with a property this high end that there would be a lot more urgency to get things right and if not provide compensation for items not working or available as promoted and advertised. It is a beautiful property and area and would definitely go back. A person might want to ensure everything is working properly as shown before booking.

Well-kept and spacious property for our group of 5 adults (Mom/Dad and 3 kids in their 20s). We loved hanging out on the patio enjoying BBQ dinners and views! Barry is a super responsive and helpful host. The really nice club/pool/fitness/hot tub and beach are a 5 minute walk away. Just a bit further to the Marriott resort and Lava Lava Beach Club for those umbrella drinks at sunset! Pro tips: Lava Lava doesn't take resy's and the wait list can be 2 hours on busy nights. Text them early. Highly recommend Ocean Sports for whatever adventures or gear rentals you need beyond what Barry's place doesn't have (and it has a lot). Easy locale for shopping and exploring nearby hikes and other beaches, yet a perfect place to park yourself and enjoy. Mahalo!

Our group of 6 adults thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this well-appointed luxury condo. Our favorite spot was on the large comfortable patio with resort and ocean views. The crescent beach is in a lovely protected bay. If you're adventuresome, there is a hike from the beach to the west, around the point, and over a half mile of rocky lava fields to a small natural swimming hole called the Queen's Bath.

This property was the perfect foundation for our week long family vacation. It has great amenities and the lanai makes you not want to leave! The nearby shopping was a plus as well!
The pool area is fun for families while having a very relaxing atmosphere. I would recommend staying here over and over.

My 2 adult children and I had a wonderful time on our vacation here. The unit is so spacious and has every amenity so we spent a lot of time just hanging out at the condo, getting take-out and watching the sunsets. We created a lot of memories.

Incredible condo and great location for my family of 4. Each of my kids had their own room and bathroom so enough for us to spread out after long days enjoying the island.
Queens Marketplace is walking distance so we got most of our food and necessities there, but also lots of restaurants in walking distance.
Hilton Waikola Village is also right next door, so we got a day pass there to enjoy the pools, lagoon, and dolphins.
Overall, this was a great location and made for a perfect spot for us as we traveled all over the island. Definitely would stay here again, and hope to be back again someday!

This condo was amazing and perfect for our family of four (our 19 and 22 year old kids each got their own bedrooms and private bath). We've used VRBO on the Hawaiian islands before with great success but this one is our favorite yet!
The location on the west (dry) side of the island was perfect. You're a short walk from Waikoloa Beach on Anaehoomalu Bay (or A-Bay for short). There is a great grocery store close by in Queens Marketplace and some shops (including local coffee and Hawaiian shave ice) in Kings Shops. And Lava Lava Beach Club (great restaurant) is right there on Waikoloa Beach! You're also a short drive from many other amazing beaches like Hapuna Beach (which is worth a visit). And you're not that far from Kailua-Kona to the south and Waimea to the north. The Kolea condos also have a private (and very nice) pool area with hot tub (and also gives you access to Waikoloa Beach). The entire Kolea complex was very nice, very beautifully landscaped, and seemed very peaceful.
The condo itself was amazing. Very large and spacious, very clean, comfortable, wonderfully decorated, and has everything you need (including beach towels, chairs, and umbrella to take down to the beach). The lanai was incredible with great views and a nice breeze. It was the perfect place to enjoy coffee each morning!
I didn't have many questions or need much. But when I did, Barry (the owner) was super responsive.
I can't recommend this condo highly enough! It was perfect for us and made for an amazing vacation.

Loved the condo. Spent most of our late afternoons sitting on the large porch drinking cocktails and enjoying the view. The condo is a three minute walk to the beach club, which has a lovely pool. Easy to walk through the club to the beach where saw turtles each day swimming close to shore or sunbathing on the rocks!
Snorkeling at Captain Cooks monument is a must! We enjoyed the 45 minute kayak trip to get there!
All six of us agreed we wish we could have stayed longer. It was a perfect relaxing vacation!

We were beyond pleased with our rental at Waikoloa! We came with 3 couples and were more than comfortable. This unit was equipped with everything you could dream of needing. We cooked in almost every night and the kitchen and outdoor cooking area had more items than my home! The unit was beautifully decorated, private access, and the VIEWS! We couldn't of asked for better office views for morning zoom calls on the lanai. The unit had everything you would need for the beach, pool, biking, laundry, the bathrooms even had full size shampoo/conditioner/body wash. The owners thought of everything! The grounds of the property were impeccable as well. An easy walk to shops and the grocery store. On the plane home, we were already looking at our next trip! You will not be disappointed with this unit!

Our group consisted of six people and we had plenty of room to not step on each other's toes. The lanai and view were truly relaxing and the decor was phenomenal. Often, condos overdo it with the island theme but this unit kept the vibe with a cleaner, more sophisticated look. That makes it an even more relaxing atmosphere. Lots of beach accessories available and the unit is well stocked with cooking utensils (including bakeware!). My only constructive comment is that there is not a "Welcome" book (at least that we could find) that provided information on how to do things or the checkout process so we had a few questions we had to contact the owner/manager on. This property does not have a local manager, so that is something you might want to know. However, the communication was good and there is a handyman that he works with as needed who seems very competent. Overall, I would highly recommend the unit as the location is great (I love Kolea in general) and the newly renovated unit is beautiful!

The pictures for the listing of this property cannot do proper justice to the beautiful condo. The location of the condo and the condo itself is incredible!
My brother and I knew we had to book early to ensure that we can vacation in Hawaii during Thanksgiving. Working with Barry was a pleasure as he responded to all our questions and request very quickly.
The condo itself is located in a private community at Waikoloa Village. It is on the 3rd floor of a building and is the only condo on the floor. Access to it is via a special key on the elevator. The whole setup feels very secure and private.
The community and the location is impeccable. It is a gated community requiring a code to drive into the community. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The pool and fitness room is a short 2 minute walk from the condo and is open from 7:00 am to 9 pm. Access to the beach is either through the pool area or a separate path. The beach itself is beautiful and not too crowded. There is a place ot rent SUP, kayaks, and also a glass bottom boat tour. It isn't a great snorkel beach unless you swim out further but the water is still great to swim in. It is a nice feeling to swim in the beach and then go back to the hot tub by the pool.
It is a 10 minute walk to King's Shops and a 15 minute walk (5 minute drive) to Queen's Market. The walk is nice and have shade so it never feels too hot. At Queen's Market, there is a grocery store that sells both hot food and other items that you can use to prepare your own meals.
The condo itself is as described. Beautifully decorated with all the amenities you need. There is a toaster, a Keurig, a drip coffee machine, sharp knives (very important), and all the utensils, cutlery, and pots that you need to prepare meals at home. Having a meal on the large balcony overlooking the community and seeing the ocean in the distance is quite a treat. Barry also provided plenty of towels. The washer and dryer also allowed us to wash our clothes and towels each day.
Staying at this property is a treat and I would certainly rent from Barry and this property again.

We absolutely LOVED staying at this property!! The location on the island and within the resort was just perfect, and the amenities (pool and local beach) were wonderful. A few minor annoyances with the appliances/fixtures were easily overlooked with the ocean views, tons of space, and gorgeously appointed condo! We had a most amazing 10-day stay with our two school-aged kiddos and my mom (whose first trip to Hawaii was a smashing success)!

The property was very well appointed and beautiful. Well stocked with kitchen and bathroom essentials. Plenty of room for our group of six - myself, spouse, 2 adult sons, and my parents. Loved spending time on the lanai. We had all of our meals, except for one, at the condo and it had everything we needed for preparing all of them. One small hiccup was the first night we used the grill it ran out of propane. Reached out to Barry and a new tank was brought the next morning. Great communication from Barry before and during our stay. Easy access to pool/beach and condo is in a fantastic location. Also liked that property was quiet. No noise from other units - just some of the morning birds outside the windows. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

I can’t say enough great things about our stay! This unit itself was so dreamy- well stocked (kitchen, beach supplies, bikes) clean, great design and furniture. Perfect size for 2 couples and a kid.
Kolea is a wonderful development, the grounds are immaculate and the pool and communal areas so well kept. Our toddler loved both the kiddie pool and the main pool and our beach access walk was short and sweet. We saw turtles almost every day! Sunsets on the lanai daily. Definitely more serene and private than the big resorts but you’re close enough to visit them on foot if you want a more busy vibe.
Communication with Buddy was fast and easy. Check out was super simple. Going to bookmark Kolea 2F and recommend it to friends.

Location was great. Condo was perfect. Well equipped. Only problem was communication with the property management. I received no information about the checkin or out process. Had to basically guess to figure things out. Was not given info on how to use pool or beach access. Property mgmt stopped responding to my texts and told me to find someone on property to help.

This is our 7th visit to the Big Island and we have stayed in different areas in Waikoloa and in different properties. This is one of our favorites. Very comfortable with a nice kitchen and easy access to the pool, beach and shops. Our teen kids had their own suites and we enjoyed our trip. We plan to visit again soon.
