We loved where this unit was located in the resort. Easy access to the pools, grills, restaurants and path to the beach. Golf cart shuttles were key! Loved the unit, suited our needs very well. There are a lot of resort fees such that the total cost ends up higher than I expected .

Love Hanalei Bay Resort and this unit is nice. Couple minor fixes: faucet in bathroom is leaking, knives in kitchen very full and door into shower room is losing wood at bottom of door Super views and the nearby BBQ is very convenient and nice.....we'll kept.

The location and views are STUNNING. The house is clean and very comfy. The resort was weird for us but probably more accommodating for the golfer or all inclusive resort going type of guest. There was creepy talk at the front desk when we checked in about keeping the property "safe" from locals. There are zero Hawaiians that own property in Princeville which also felt really wrong. The sports bar cheapened the vibe at the resort's restaurant, but might be your cup of tea. The hot tub was not open during our entire stay and there are no blackout curtains in the bedroom. That all said, we still had a lovely time exploring the island and the property is truly gorgeous.

This was probably the worst VRBO experience we have had..so bad in fact, I don’t think we will ever do it again. The musty smell of mold and mildew almost knocked us over when we walked in the door. It looks like there was a significant water issue because you can see the base boards and the bottom of the doors were starting to peel and come apart. Every time we flushed the toilet we held our breath hoping it didn’t overflow. Blankets covering the couch?! Looked like we were staying with an elderly family member. The view off the deck was very nice. It was the only plus. we could literally hear every word the people staying next to us said…so, pretty sure they heard us as well. This place needs a major Reno and until they do. They will get horrible reviews. It’s very obvious the property owner knows these issues exist and simply doesn’t care. It’s nothing short of a money grab

Great spot for our 40th wedding anniversary. The development is older, probably built in the 70’s. But the upkeep is wonderful and the landscaping mature and beautiful. The unit we stayed in is partially renovated and looks like it has fresh paint in some rooms . The furniture gives it a comfortable retro vibe. It has a beautiful view of the mountains with waterfalls and a peek of the bay. It’s very big for a one bedroom. The bed was very comfortable. It has AC and a washer/dryer. Both appreciated. Like some VRBO units it was stocked sparingly. No bath soap or shampoo, only hand soap. No coffee for the first morning. But the store is a short drive.
We would definitely stay at this location, and this unit again.

We loved our stay at the Hanalei Bay Resort. The resort grounds are beautiful and the view from the condo was stunning. The condo is conveniently located within the complex and much larger than I expected. We were very pleased and comfortable! We hope to return next year!

I love the resort but this unit is really tired and needs some work, couch is nasty and worn just threw a blanket across it, bathroom really needs updating ice maker doesn’t work on fridge just a lot of small things! Nice view though 👍

Overall a beautiful condo and we had a wonderful stay - here is a pro/con list I made while staying here!
Pros)
- Amazing property, the pool is delightful and there is a nice paved walking path to a great beach. Has a ton of amenities and would definitely come back again!
- The balcony has a perfect view of the lush green mountains (and bonus! there is a super cool green gecko that lives in the vines outside the balcony, we saw it a couple times!).
- The condo stays really cool WITHOUT using the AC, just keep the curtains closed.
- It’s nice that everyone leaves things behind for the next people to use (like sunscreen, frozen cocktail *thank you to whomever!*, laundry soap, etc.); although I will say it is a little sketchy not knowing exactly what was in the room to begin with (though I did know the obvious due to some of the instructions I was given).
Cons)
- There was a bowl of half eaten icecream in the freezer, I’m not sure how thorough the cleaning service is. Some of the towels also had brown stains (possibly from a self tanner as I noticed a few bottles in the cabinet) but we bought bleach and cleaned them ourselves.
- There isn’t darkening curtains so I did feel a little strange having see-through curtains throughout the rooms.
- I didn’t see a smoke alarm, although I could have missed one.

My girlfriend and I were thrilled with our visit to Kauai and our stay in this great unit in Hanalei Bay Resort (HBR). Anthony was a great host and helped us to arrange timely checkin and checkout based upon our travel schedule. The unit was very clean and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay, including all of the necessary beach stuff. It was also very centrally located for easy access to the pools, tennis courts, bbq grills, restaurant/lounge, and the beach. The walk to and from the beach was very manageable and it was a great spot for snorkeling, with nice shade trees to shield us from the sun and the occasional burst of rain…I even saw a turtle while snorkeling. The upscale 1 Hotel recently opened next door and it’s also nice that HBR guests are welcome to visit their beachside bar, restaurant and restroom. Besides all of that, we really enjoyed checking out the north shore area beaches, restaurants (especially Tahiti Nui) and hiking along the Napali Coast at Hā'ena State Park (be sure to arrange in advance).
We’ve been to all of the islands and now think that Kauai (north shore) is the gbest, thanks to our experiences on this trip, which was definitely enhanced by our stay in Anthony’s unit, with a shout out as well to his friendly and helpful Housecleaner Yolanda (Yo)!

Excellent unit with a quick walk to the resort pool (2 mins) or a gorgeous beach on Hanalei bay (about 5 mins). This unit feels large with a nice comfy couch in the living room and a large lanai that is in the shade most of the day. Powerful AC in both the main room and the bedroom. A beautiful view of the mountains and the water from the lanai just makes this place a little corner of paradise. The owner was great to deal with and super communicative. We'll definitely be back to this paradise retreat!

The resort itself is gorgeous and the unit (Hala #5207) was everything we hoped for. Couldn’t be more perfectly situated and seemed to attract a nice mix of people, the only exception being the folks next door in unit 5206 who were loud until late and smoked on the porch which drifted into our unit. They clearly say no smoking anywhere on the property except for a designated area in the parking lot (which was pretty nice I might add). But overall it was only a minor inconvenience. We loved drifting off to the sounds of rustling palm trees and the view from the patio was beautiful. Mostly mountains with a bit of Hanalei bay which was perfect. We will definitely return.

Overall the property was ok. The view over Hanalei Bay was great and the resort amenities were nice though one restaurant, not affiliated with the property, so no body serving drinks at the pool. A few things of note, the condo itself would greatly benefit from having a few basic things (dishwasher pods/soap, updated kitchen utensils, bathroom soap/shampoo), bed with an aftermarket memory foam topper. Be aware of the resort check in fee and parking rates. Most tennis courts are in rough shape. The golf cart rides to/from the beach was nice.

We were very pleased with this rental. Comfy living room with perfect view of Hanalei Bay and the green mountains. The bed was great with foam topper. We didn’t have any aches from not sleeping in our own bed. A golf cart picks you up at room and can take you down to the beach. Any beach things you may need are in the closet. Best poke is from the Dolphin Fish Market in Hanalei. Only suggestion to owner is to add a rubber mat because tub is slippery to climb out of and there are no grab bars. Also a starter morning of coffee would be great for first morning before heading to grocery store. This is now on our favorite places to return list. Mahalo!

So many times the pictures listed look far fancier than the reality. This is not the case with this listing.
The unit far exceeded my expectations. It's so beautiful, spacious, great temperature control in every room. Incredibly comfortable bed and living room couch. Plenty of amenities for cooking including utensils and cookware.
Not many places on Kauai have hot tubs, this location has an amazing pool and sand bottom jacuzzi.
I highly recommend this place. The owner was so accommodating, showed of Aloha. I wish I never had to leave!

You’ve found your place to book, no need to keep looking! I am so grateful that we found this place and decided to stay here for our trip to Kauai! The staff was amazing, the grounds are breathtaking and the room is absolutely perfect! Pictures don’t do it justice. The view and balcony are so beautiful. This room has absolutely everything you will need which is a huge plus. The surrounding towns are great and make getting a bite to eat, shopping, etc super easy to do. We will be staying here again I hope!! We truly loved it.

We loved our trip! I would absolutely stay here again. The condo had everything needed for a lovely stay and the bed was very comfortable. The view was incredible; far better than the photos show. We enjoyed the sunsets viewed from the resort's gas fire pit. The pools were fantastic. We enjoyed the walk to the beach and if needed you can have the resort take you and pick you up via their golf cart service. The location of the condo within the resort is excellent. It is very conveniently located to everything so you have short walks to the pool, on-site restaurant, parking and it looks out onto the small round pool.

This is an exceptionally beautiful property. I loved the rides to the beach. We couldn’t use the pool in February because it is not heated. The hot tub was being repaired. We still had a wonderful vacation there.

The property was wonderful, the prior group didn't clean very well the dishes needed to be re-washed, we had to replace the TP and Paper towels, dish and laundry soap, but the pools were wonderful and I look forward to returning to this same property, I'll just clean before I start to use the dishes and silverware :)

We've stayed at Hanalei Bay Resort before, and it's lovely. This unit, like other units is privately owned, so you're kind of at the mercy of the individual's choices in terms of furnishings and how well it's equipped. This unit is nice enough, but could use some updating. In the kitchen area, pots and pans, toaster, utensils, etc. have all seen better days. The carpet in the living room is kind of worn out, and the bathroom's a little tired. That said, the price is good, and the location can't be beat. Great mountain views, and the pools are nice.

This property is in a great spot with a beautiful view! The lanai furniture is very nice and that’s where you’ll spend most of your time. The bed is also very comfortable and there is a closet stocked with everything you need for the beach. There is also AC and fans for comfort. I gave 4 stars because this property needs some general maintenance which we reported to the owner. It’s also just worn and tired in general. Communication was great but nothing was fixed during our 5 days there. The slider in the bedroom to the lanai was stuck shut, the ice maker in the fridge was broken, burnt out lights, and the washer and dryer was broken and leaking on the kitchen floor the whole time. (The owner knew of this and left us coins for the laundry room, and apologized and gave us a $100 refund). Nothing that ruined our stay but it was disappointing.

This well appointed apartment was perfect for us. Great view - convenient to get to within the property and served a great home base for us as we adventured around North Shore. We didn't spend a ton of time on the resort but did enjoy putting our tired muscles in the hot tub after a long hike! Wish we had budgeted more time to hang at the beautiful pool but so many fun things to do! We also experienced an epic sunset right from our table at the on site restaurant !

My husband and I have stayed at many places all over the world and this condo was one of the most comfortable! It is very spacious and open. The living area has a large TV and comfy sofa. The owner has added lots of small touches that make it feel like your home away from home. There were lots of beach items to use and we appreciated the full kitchen and washer/dryer. The huge balcony was great to sit out on and watch the beautiful rainbows come and go! We will for sure stay here for our next visit to Kauai!

We stayed here while visiting the North Shore of Kauai, and it did not disappoint! The condo was clean and well-appointed - we had everything we needed. We loved the large lanai and the beautiful views! When we arrived, there was a note about a leak in the air-conditioner, so we contacted the owner, who responded right away and had the problem fixed. As it turned out, we didn't need to use the air-conditioning, since the breeze was sufficient to keep the condo cool. Shopping and restaurants are nearby, and we took the shuttle (be sure to make a reservation) to visit a few beaches: Ke'e, Tunnels, and Hanalei Bay. We enjoyed the short walk to the beach next to the property, but you can ask for a ride in the golf cart, if needed. We snorkeled and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. There is construction going on at the adjoining property, but we were not bothered by it down on the beach. We had great appetizers and drinks at Happy Talk (the restaurant on the property), but the pool bar is closed - if you're looking for that. Some of the pebble tech in the pool is in need of repair, but the pool is large and there are plenty of chairs around the pool and lots of space. Overall, we had a great experience, and we would stay here again.

We enjoyed our vacation in 5207 unit. We had everything we need. There is a comfortable couch in the living room that our 10 year old slept. The view is amazing, the unit is centrally located in the resort. Our housekeeper brought clean bed sheets in the middle of our two weeks stay even though she was not required to do so. We loved having washer and dryer in the unit. Overall very good experience. I will book this until again for the next vacation without hesitation.

After seven days in a small cottage on the island and thought this would be a good place to end this trip, the unit exceeded our expectations. The view from the balcony was breathtaking. The resort staff was so accommodating and caring. We walked down to the beach where we had renewed our vows in 2019 and this was our first trip back. We’d stay again!
There were a few maintenance issues, slow bathroom drain and sofa could use a cleaning. Other than that, enjoyed it very much and glad we closed out trip there. Thank you,

We were very happy with our stay here. The property is located in a resort with beautiful grounds, 2 pools, hot tub, tennis courts, golf course, and an easy walk to a beautiful beach. The unit was spacious and clean. The lanai has an incredible view of the grounds and surrounding mountains. We appreciated amenities such as beach chairs, snorkel equipment, and other items useful for the beach. The host was very responsive and accommodating. Upon arrival we were surprised that the unit part of a fairly large resort hotel, but it proved to be much quieter than we anticipated , and we ended up appreciating the resort’s amenities. Definitely would stay here again!

My husband and I stayed at this property for three nights while visiting the north side of Kauai, after staying five nights on the south side. This condo has a nice location within Princeville with the proximity to grocery stores, activities such as golf, and right off the main road into Hanalei. We were warned by friends who had previously visited the north side that winter was the rainy season and it rained for two of our three days, but we still took advantage of the great pool and beach access - though we were sad the pool bar has become a casualty of covid. Highly recommend this unit if you're a golfer or tennis player no matter the time of year - the tennis pros were still offering lessons in the rain.
The unit itself was clean and very spacious. Kitchen had everything we needed for cooking meals and we also took advantage of the resort's grills, which were right down the hill from the unit. The lanai was perfect for morning coffees and eating meals, very lucky that little rain blew onto the lanai so we were still able to enjoy it while enduring Kauai's rainy season.
Bottom line: we would certainly rent this unit again during the summer months to fully enjoy everything this property has to offer :)

Loved the Lanai. Spent several hours enjoying the view of the beautiful hillside and grounds. Kitchen is simple but met our needs. Bed was very comfortable. Beach chairs and beach umbrella were broken. Couch had mildew odor and living room AC quit working properly but fortunately the bedroom AC worked great. Loved the tennis courts, pool, and easy access to beach. Would stay at HBR again!!

The condo is great. Well stocked with everything you might need and centrally located on the property. You also get an amazing view of Hanalei Bay, mountains, waterfalls and morning rainbows on your lanai. We loved it. We also loved the super-comfy king size bed. We enjoyed the resort and the fact that the unit had a kitchen and washer dryer. With the grocery store a couple of miles away it was very accommodating. Happy talk restaurant on site had live music and served delicious food. The bed was very comfortable! Communication was timely. I highly recommend visiting queens bath while you are there.

There were some disappointments that I wish I would have known before I booked this property. The ice maker did not work, both TVs (the living room and bedroom) remotes did not work and we were unable to get the TVs working besides finally getting a DVD to work that we rented from the front desk. We spent way too much time after a long day of exploring to try to get the TVs working which was definitely frustrating. One of the lights in the bedroom overhead light fixture was slightly hanging loose. The remote to the bedroom air conditioner did not work properly (the screen on it would not show you what was happening when buttons were pressed). The couch had a couple of stains on it. Only one of the snorkels that we were depending on (since they were advertised as an amenity) worked. The other snorkels leaked and were broken. The only positives were the view, the bed was comfortable and the resort property/ staff outside were wonderful. The view was beautiful but overall the place felt dull, dated, and a bit dingy.
