Our charmingly furnished house with traditional Hawaiiana decor provides all the comforts of home in the world's most spectacular setting on Kauai, the 'Garden Island' of Hawaii. You will seldom need your car after arriving as charming Hanalei village is within walking distance with its excellent restaurants, lively night spots and shopping. Only a block and a half away is the world famous, crescent-shaped Hanalei Bay, ranked by National Geographic Traveler as one of the top ten beaches in the world.

Hanalei can only be reached over a series of quaint one-way bridges and is never overwhelmed by tourists. It is the home of many celebrities and famous writers and is noted for its amazing scenery and lush vegetation.

House is strictly limited to four people of any age -- babies are not exempt, sorry. We have a Cal King bed in one bedroom and a king in the other which can be divided into extra long twin beds for an additional charge of 100.00 plus tax. Will consider stays of less than one week between gaps of six days or less or 30 days in advance of some unrented time. We accept reservations up to twelve months in advance.

For stays over 14 nights, guests will be charged for one in-clean for $157.07, tax included. This home is a vacation rental and guests should not expect the same amenities as at a hotel including toiletries, comestibles and other supplies. We start our guests off with some hand soap and toilet paper for their arrival but otherwise it is not practical to offer supplies for the duration of their stay.

The residence is located in a tsunami inundation zone. In the event of a tsunami, evacuation information is posted in the residence.

The adjacent property has begun construction on a home. We want to make sure that there aren’t any surprises when you arrive. So far, none of our guests have found the construction to be a nuisance. The contractor for the project has stated that working hours are limited to weekdays no earlier than 7:30 a.m. until about 3:30 p.m. No construction will take place on weekends. Hopefully you’ll be at the beach, on excursions and enjoying this beautiful island during construction times.

Family of 4 with 2 adult children. Walked everywhere in Hanalei from the beach to town. House had everything we needed. Loved the view from the deck. Recommend highly!

This little house was perfect for our week in Hanalei. It's a short walk to the beach and to town. The house had everything you need - well-stocked kitchen, beach towels and toys (though no handle on the wagon and the umbrella was broken), comfortable beds, outside shower. Construction in the back was sporadic and didn't really affect us. Highly recommend this place!

Very clean and close to beach. Clark is the most responsive VRBO host I have ever experienced. Would highly recommend this property.

This property checks all the boxes. The house is very clean and the proximity to the beach is perfect. The kitchen had every single thing you could need to cook and serve. The beds were very comfortable and the shower had great water pressure. The property manager checked in to make sure we had everything we needed upon our arrival. We will definitely be returning to this property!

Loved our stay at Clark’s. Great location, just a short walk from the beach. Kitchen was well equipped. Outdoor shower was wonderful.

Great stay! House was well stocked, .5 mile walk to beach (and super close the beach entrance), we would stay here again. Travelled with my husband and 1 year old daughter. House also had a lot of baby gear!

We were extremely satisfied with communication with and responsiveness from owner/host and housekeeper, amenities of and supplies within home, and location to town and beach.

Perfect spot to unwind with out two kiddos (2 years and 8 months). Place needs a bunch of updates (new oven, new dishwasher, new curtains that don’t fall when you touch), espresso machine, measuring cups in kitchen, more then one key!!!). Noise from neighbors is LOUD. Like you hear them all day, when their baby wakes in the middle of the night, their dinners, everything. But outdoor shower is bliss and the beach was perfect.

This property is a great option for a family of four or two couples. The owner was super responsive, the house was immaculate, it's a 5 minute walk to the beach or to town, the kitchen is better stocked than ours, and the views from the lanai were a highlight of our trip. Throw in other touches like beach towels, decor, and strong ventilation that keeps the house relatively cool, and you've got a great stay. My only possible concern is how close it is to the neighbors (which seems the case for many properties). We had no issues at all, but I did wonder what would happen if our neighbors ended up being loud. I would definitely stay here again!

This place is great! Love the location. Super comfortable for us and our adult daughters. The kitchen is probably the best appointed one of any vrbo I’ve stayed in. It’s the simple things, Tupperware, olive oil, nice pots and pans that make a weeks vacation easy. Thank you! Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!

We had a wonderful week at Hale Lu Ya. It is in a great location, about 3 minutes from the beach and 10 min from town, surrounded by beautiful plants and a field behind it. The rooms are all decorated nicely and the kitchen is well equipped. We are most meals on the patio with the view of the amazing mountains behind us. Can’t wait to come back!!

My wife and I have been to Hanalei Bay multiple times over the past 30 years. This was a two week trip planned for a long time. We always wanted to stay ( again) near Hanalei Bay and in a house and this place was perfect. The location is superb at the end of a cup de sac , with a breathtaking view of the mountains south of the bay. The floor is wood so it creaks a bit and reminded me of a ship sailing over the waves ! We will return again and bring friends , and get a larger house if that comes to fruition. However , my wife stated we would love to come back to this house again anytime that we can afford it !

According to the previous reviews, this house is quiet and has views of the waterfall out the windows. Not the case. The "sister" house of this was booked with multiple families and babies. We could hear all conversations and baby cries throughout the night. I wouldn't stay here if the Taj Ma Hale is rented as it feels like a duplex. There is no parking for this house either, you must park on the street so be sure not to have valuables in car. 1. No views. 2. Not quiet. Our two reasons for staying here.

Our family of four just spent a week at Hale Lu Ya! (July 27 - Aug. 3, 2012) and our experience was outstanding. The cottage is well appointed, clean, comfortable, and most important of all, in an ideal location. This cottage comes as advertised - - - - perhaps even undersells itself. Located a block and a half from Hanalei Bay and two blocks from the historic town of Hanalei, you just can't find a more ideal spot. We were within walking distance of some of the best restaurants on the island, and could look out our window and see the tallest waterfall on the island. The best part is you don't feel like you are near a town at all because there is no noise. Great spot from which to explore the entire north and east shores and take a boat trip to the Na Pali Coast. If you can't enjoy your stay in Hanalei, check your pulse. Not only do I recommend this house, I plan to stay here again myself if the opportunity arises.

My partner and I stayed at Hale Lu Ya for 2 weeks in November and will definitely return. We've been to Kauai many times and have always stayed in Haena and this time wanted to stay in Hanalei. It's the perfect Hanalei location: close to the beach and an easy walk to town where there's an abundance of dining choices. The house is beautiful, well maintained, quiet and had everything we needed. It was so peaceful sitting on the lanai every morning, having coffee and enjoying the mountain views. Two "must do's" while in Hanalei: happy hour at the Gourmet and ice cream from Pinks! You cannot go wrong with this rental!

A GREAT vacation home!!!!! The outdoor shower is our favorite being contained for privacy. The towels are luxurious and plentiful. The location to the beach and village is all within walking distance along with being in a secluded cul-de-sac. The only addition recommended would be an outdoor light on back lanai for grilling.

This was out second time to have stayed here. Each of our vacation stays was for 4 weeks each and wish it could have been longer. My family and I loved this place. Walking distance to one of the the most scenic beaches in the world and to the town of Hanalei itself. The house was spacious, clean, maintained well, and in a scenic setting. I remember when we walked into the house for our second stay it was like we had come back home. If my daughters had their way we would spend every summer here. I would highly recommend staying here.

I have stayed at this property several times in the past years and have found it to be very comfortable, clean and convenient. I was surprised to See the negative review. If I ever did have a problem it's was taken care of immediately. There is a reason I keep coming back.

This is the fourth year that I have stayed at HaleLuYa. Unlike all other annual trips, I return to this house because of its perfect location, complete furnishings, and the great customer service from the owners and their agent. The house is at the end of a dead end street so traffic is minimal. My two favorite parts of this house are the large deck on the back overlooking a greenscape with birds and flowers that is perfect for morning coffee drinking and the bedroom in the back that is exactly like sleeping in a treehouse, minus the mosquitoes! Hanalei Bay (the best swimming on the island) is a couple blocks away which is close enough for a quick walk but far enough away that you miss the traffic from other tourists. Beds are very comfortable and appliances in the kitchen are way more than adequate for farmer's market vegetables for dinner. The plentiful windows down and upstairs allow island breezes and the smell of the jungle-like foliage throughout the house. I unequivocally recommend this vacation rental!

We scored ten days at Hale Lu Ya (cute name!). We've been renting in Kauai for years but agree that this is one of the best rentals on the island. Very comfy. It felt like home right away. Owner was prompt and great to deal with and house was as described on website. Rental did not have "cookie cutter" feel and all was clean and sparkly on our arrival. Don't be surprised to hear from us again. Cheers.

Our upcoming trip to Kauai will be our fourth stay at the Hale Lu Ya house. It is the perfect place. Its quaint charm, quiet neighborhood, plantation decor, and good vibration leave us hesitant to sing its praises--everyone will want to come! Two blocks from the most beautiful beach in Hawaii, and a quick walk to town make its location perfect for the active vacationer.

Note: Vacancy calendar is approximate. Visit the owner/manager's reservation site to verify your dates.
