Lovely setting and right next to the ocean. Wake up with tropical birds singing and views of the sandy beach and ocean. Palm trees and beautiful tropical vegetation line your condo. Very clean and spacious, easy access to main roads and restaurants and shopping. We had a marvelous experience and will do it again!

The condo is in a great area for walking to restaurants/stores/beach etc. A gorgeous ocean view from the lanai and from the front of the building
The exterior lights were burned out so it was hard to see to unlock door at night.
Besides that it’s a clean updated condo.

How can it be better to feel and hear the ocean at all times. Easy to get to and proximity to great beaches and highway. Yet very quiet. Impressive in all regards.
Condo itself is clean but a little dated. The bedroom needs a new ceiling fan and it would be awesome. Thank goodness for the stand alone fan. Ac works great but does not cool bedroom in the rear we’ll even with the fan. We found tge evening breeze and fans were much more pleasant and effective. Nice plus beach chairs and umbrella👍. Well equipped but limited food storage space we ended up using the island to hold our non fridge items. Not a deal breaker by any means. Loved early am coffee and supper on lanai. My wife and I enjoyed watching the sun disappear nightly from the front deck area. Also very good whale watching and we even treated to a couple days of evening surfing as it had a unusual large swell on our visit.
The bad was not functioning dishwasher again not a deal breaker but we were never told it wasn’t functioning prior to arrival and the management company informed us they knew. So that would have been nice so we didn’t fill it and screw around trying to figure it out when it was needing replacement. I did receive a call from some appliance of repair place about measuring up for a new one. So hopefully it’s fixed. The one burner on the stove did not work ( front left) , even after the repair man supposedly came on our last day stay. No drain for the kitchen sink seems bad idea to not have one without a working dishwasher. Was requested day 1 never saw one. I can’t say the property manager wasn’t responsive they did via text quickly but not much was done other then reply. Would I stay again Yes. It’s location makes up for the miscues. Mahola

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and this condo fit our budget for a two week stay. The area is somewhat walkable and there are a few amenities such as a fresh fish market, convenience store, grocery, snorkel rentals, etc, all within just a couple blocks. Beach access is easy however there is no direct access at the condo property.
There were a few things about the condo we didn't care for and a few maintenance needs. Fortunately the property is quiet but you will still be woken a time or two or three by passersby walking to or from there own condos. With the windows all open, highly recommended, the voices sound like they are in the same room, the bedroom is right at the walkway, not very private. People can also see right in unless you close the drapes which also eliminates any breeze.
The condo will get really hot if you don't manage it and then it's still hot. We decided to leave the front door open 24 hours in addition to all the windows, this finally gave us some relief. The security door is screened so it's safe. There is AC but it's not very effective and won't cool the bedroom at all. Keep everything open all day is our advice.
The bedroom ceiling fan was stuck on low which was a bummer. The living room ceiling fan wabbled so much we were forced to leave it on low. Both of these problems contributed to the heat and discomfort, we did not experience any significant cross breeze in the unit for the most part, wishful thinking. This building is older and not heat resistant at all.
A few other annoyances, bedside lamp did not work, even with new bulb, shower door leaks pretty good, the AC was too loud for our tastes and not worth running. Overall, the condo is a little dumpy.
Last negative, the listing clearly stated and may still state, "pool.". When we called about the access code we were told our unit did not include access. Definitely a bummer.
Some pluses, beach toys including snorkel gear and location.
We would not stay here again but it did fit the budget for this trip.

Clean, spacious, convenient parking, included all desired amenities (coffee maker, toaster, fridge, dishes, cutting boards, extra pillows and sheets, lots of towels, shampoo, hand soap, place mats), nice outside viewing area for sunsets by the water, eating breakfast on the balcony was lovely. Great location: food trucks a couple blocks away open in evenings with lots of great food, nearby shopping area has a good Hawaiian fast-food place with excellent oxtail soup, going north there are many beaches for playing in the waves and snorkeling, and some beautiful overlooks (Nakalele Blowhole is a nice place). Great place :-)

This was a great condo and excellent location. Condo as well cap and had all the amenities we needed to have a great trip. Literally walked down the sidewalk and you’re at the ocean for amazing views and sounds.
Having a washer and dryer in the unit was huge and all the appliances were great. Overall an exceptional stay

The building is older, but the inside has been updated and was clean and very comfortable with amazing sunset views!! Water access is a little difficult, but with so many beaches that are close it was not an issue for us at all. It was wonderful having the fish market and deli right across the street.

The property is as described and has a great view and very functional. It is very convenient/central for things in that area. However, the day before our arrival I had to ask for the details of the property as they were never sent. Upon arrival, the apartment was dirty and had not been cleaned. Prior guests dirty bedding and towels piled up. In the light of Covid-19, I would think that there would be some sort of check system to be sure the place was actually cleaned. It was hard to get in touch with someone and I had to wait for a response. We then had to go to another property for the night. This was problematic for several reasons. We had to haul our luggage back to the car. I have a toddler who is autistic and was disoriented already from travel and we had to change plans which dysregulated her further and made the night very difficult. We could not enter the apartment again until 10am the following day, but had to check out of the new property by 10am. This means that not only was our whole evening taken up by the disaster when we arrived because they do not allow check in until 4pm, but our next morning was taken up too. We could not go and do anything because our car was filled with our belongings and did not want to risk our car being broken into if we went somewhere. We had to wait around until 10 am. So essentially one whole day was wasted due to this mess. I was refunded for the evening, but felt that there should have been some additional compensation for not only the extreme trouble after very long travels, but all of our time that was wasted. We spoke with the manager of the property, and she was very apologetic and told us she would call us back after she investigated to see if there was anything else additionally she could do, but of course we never got a call back. Disappointing all around.

This place was in walking distance to restaurants, grocery stores, and a park. There were clean linens and no shortage of towels. The air conditioner was a small wall unit in the living room area which did not cool the entire place and there were limitations to how often it could be run. There was no screen for front door so it was difficult to cool the place and not have my toddler wander out the door. If you have a decent amount of luggage be warned that the parking spot is some distance from unit. The place grew on us after it cooled down.

The condo was in a terrific location and propert manager is very nice and welcoming! Spacious unit and nice amenities but could be updated a bit more like carpet needs changing but overall we had a great time. Unit is close to BadAss coffee and other eateries that were vegetarian friendly. I would come back again.

The two of us had a wonderful vacation. The apartment was literally steps from the water. Everything was comfortable. The kitchen was furnished with everything we needed. The bathroom clean and worked well. Very comfortable king bed, and the closet in the bedroom was stocked with boogie boards, water shoes, snorkels, floats, and kids' sand toys.
We really enjoyed going to the beaches in the area and sunning/snorkling. The humpback whales put on a show for us most every night right outside the apartment. We enjoyed watching the sunset with the other vacationers and Mike and Heather, our hosts.
Not much else to say but "we'd return!"

We booked our stay in Maui a mere two weeks before leaving, and with a minimal amount of research we stumbled upon Maui Sands, unit 713. The pros:
- Location: walking distance to the beach and the new Dukes restaurant, a farmers market, Supermarket, a convenience store, gas station, great tacos, and even (though a bit further) the Maui Brewing co.
- The ocean: Only 40 yards (meters) from the ocean, lulled to sleep by the sea, with no annoying traffic sounds. A view from the lanai, perfect.
- The property: Immaculate gardens, great pool, a small deck overlooking the ocean, great stuff.
- The condo: comfortable, tidy, but the real bonus: all of the extras. We used the beach chairs and towels every day. The binoculars were great, though no luck with cetaceans during our stay. Books, videos, the sounds system all saw regular use.
The cons:
- none to mention.
We've been to Maui once before and stayed in south Maui. This was our first time staying in West Maui, and we loved it: It's awesome to be at the beach everyday and to look out onto ocean and see Lanai and Molokai just across the water. Amazing.
Our favourite activities: Sunrise on Haleakala, surfing lessons with Waves in Kihei, Big Beach, The aquarium, Kahekili Beach, grabbing an Ono taco on the way home.
And, bonus round, given that there was no one checking in the same day of our checkout, Maui Lodging was gracious enough to let us checkout a little bit late, which basically gave us a full extra day on our vacation. Mahalo.
A perfect vacation, made possible by our stay in Maui Sands.
We miss you already Maui.

Wonderful location close to the ocean. Best beds yet -- king size & firm mattress, plus even the pullout was comfortable for our girls! Nicely appointed condo, although it could have used some better knives. We were thrilled to have use of 3 boogie boards,(fun times boogie boarding at Napili Beach!), beach umbrellas & snorkel gear (if we needed those). Loved the lush, tropical grounds, nice pool, and hearing the waves gently crashing day & night steps from the condo. Maui Sands has that "old time" relaxed Hawaii feel to it with friendly guests to chat with & enjoy the sunset with while sitting along or by the seawall. We really liked that this place was a 2 story complex & mellow. We were needing a mellow place to be to relax, not like a typical resort place, & this place fit the bill. Easy access to stores & eateries, plus good location for exploring all of West Maui & beyond. We'll go back there in the future, and would definitely recommend #713 to anyone.

My husband and I recently stayed here and fell in love with it! We traveled with our friends and let them spend the big money to stay at a fancy resort. Our place was nicer and very convenient. We were barely there due to being out enjoying Maui but it was a wonderful place to come home to at the end of the day. We will be staying here again with the whole family next year I hope!
