This place is great! Location is very nice, easy communications, amenities galore, clean, space for a nice large group. The catch is the water heater is condo sized we learned after we called property management. We felt like it was a bit much to have to strategize who could take a shower and who would have to wait for the hot water to replenish. We figured 1-1.5 short showers could be taken before there was no more hot water. That was an bummer with 6 of us traveling together. Especially if we were out all day. We highly suggest investing in a larger water heater. Other than that. Fantastic!!

We love Kamaole Sands condos. This particular unit was one of two units we booked for 3 nights. This unit needed some upgrades and maintenance. Specifically, the air conditioning unit was overheating on the lanai making it impossible to be out on the lanai and to have inconsistent cooling during our stay. The WiFI was very spotty and again inconsistent. Additionally, there was a very strong musty smell and the mattress in the non-primary bedrooms were very old and needed replacing. Overall, the unit was very run down compared to the other unit we had rented. We reached out to the management company on Day 2 and never heard back, even 2 weeks later. Very disappointing experience with this VRBO.

Our family had a great visit & we all fit comfortably within the condo (7 adults).
Kitchen was stocked with all items needed to cook full meals. Bathrooms had a good layout & there were enough bathroom towels for everyone. A/C in every room which is a must for those of us coming from colder climates. Nice set of beach supplies provided. A lovely lanai for coffee/breakfast in the am & a chill evening. Large washer/dryer was used daily & also a must for longer stays such as ours.
Pool & indoor gym were always clean.
Easy & fast communication with the vacation Rental team. Highly recommend to anyone looking to have a spacious, comfortable & conveniently located condo for their vacation.

We had 8 people staying in this unit- which is to say we maxed it out. And even then, we felt there was plenty of room for us to spread out. We walked over to the beach across the street (snorkeling with turtles, sunset views). We ate inside the unit (dining table actually sits 8 people), and we really appreciated having 3 bathrooms and plenty of beds. My parents shared the king room suite- the AC worked very well in there, cooled the room quickly, and they were comfortable. My daughter and my son’s girlfriend were in the two twin room. Also, very comfortable. My older son was in the living room- he spread out and had a big space to himself. The AC has a challenge to cool that big space (one split AC and a loft ceiling- it’s a very large room) but he was comfortable and it was not an issue. My husband and I shared the loft space, and my other son slept on the floor up there on an air mattress we brought with us. He won’t share a sofa bed with his brother, and there was a ton of space on the floor for the air mattress. The upstairs loft is a little open to the other great room, so bring sleep masks bc it can get very bright early on with the windows. All in all, we really enjoyed our quick island hop to Maui and the ease of staying in the unit. The beds were all comfortable, parking was easy, and the kitchen has plenty of dishes to use so we didn’t have to constantly be washing dishes (some units that are for 8 people give only 4 of each type of dish, for instance.)Remember your own toiletries (soap, shampoo, conditioner) as that’s not provided. One suggestion would be to please have some washcloths for use in the bathrooms and more bathroom towels in general. Just one large bath towel per person and I think 1-2 hand towels total would have been a challenge had we had a longer stay. I think a full set of towels per guest would be appreciated.

Nice size unit, nice furniture, lots of space, easy walk to the beach. I found the deck area noisy because of traffic on street it is over and I felt like it could have had more utensils as we were constantly running out of forks. But overall we had a great stay.

Property was amazing, condo itself could use some amenities. IE we had to buy cloth hangers and tea towels, there was also no mop or anything to clean floors, and first time we have had a condo with no boogie board. We stayed there just short of 3 weeks. Condo is quiet and great location. Property management was easy and very efficient to deal with.

The condo is nice and big, and clean and convenient, in a quiet corner of the property. The two reserved parking spaces are right next to the elevator. Kihei is a great neighborhood, near beautiful beaches with lots of places to eat and shop.

This place fit our needs for what we wanted to do in Maui as it was centrally located. Close to the airport, to the aquarium and harbor, to restaurants, the beach, grocery stores...
Place was clean and well furnished with enough plates, utensils, cookware, glasses, mugs for our group(6 adults, 1 child). The unit is part of a big complex of rentals and this unit has a partial view of the ocean. Beach is just across the street.
Communication with property manager was excellent and tended to our needs promptly especially after the first day where we had a problem with the upstairs shower. Taken care of right away.
Just a little confusing to operate the remotes for the tv and the fans but other than that nothing major. I would recommend staying here as it is close to everything.

This condo was in an excellent location. Was right across the street from the beach and walkable to many restaurants and shops. The dedicated parking spaces were very convenient. We loved the space in the condo, air conditioning, beach supplies, location in Kihei, beautiful grounds and pool of Kamaole sands, and ease of communication with the host. Great for our family- four adults (2 parents, 2 grandparents) and two kids (3 yr old, 3 mo old). There were three pack and plays in the unit including an infant sleeper attachment! Only downside is that the lanai gets full blast of the air con venting, so when AC is on, the lanai is very hot. We managed by opening front door and lanai door for a breeze during the day instead of using AC.

We picked this complex because other friends of ours were already staying there and decided it would be nice. Our unit was big and spacious, and perfect for our group of 6. The complex is nice, although we really didn't use any of the amenities except the BBQ once. The location is great, and we walked to the beach every day. Decor was simple and nice. My only issue was that there were two broken knobs on the dresser in the Master, and every time I walked by, it caught on my clothes and ripped one of my skirts. It's an easy fix that I hope they make. Also wish there was more hot water. With 6 people coming off the beach, we ran out of hot water quickly. But we'd come again, the unit is lovely.

Family of eight had a great time in the lovely comfortable condo. Took awhile for the unit to cool down after arrival (there was a mixup and someone was supposed to have turned the ac on before we arrived but didn’t) once it did cool down it was fine Beds and the sofa were comfy. Kitchen had everything we needed to prepare a couple of breakfasts. The umbrella and chairs came in handy on the beach.

Our stay in the Maui 3 bedroom 3 bath condo was truly remarkable! One of the highlights was the incredibly comfortable beds. After a long day of exploring the island, sinking into those cozy mattresses felt like pure bliss. The condo management deserves special praise for their prompt and efficient service. When we encountered a minor issue with one of the bathrooms, they were quick to address it and resolve the problem, ensuring our stay remained hassle-free.
The condo itself was spacious and tastefully decorated, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. We appreciated the well-equipped kitchen, which allowed us to prepare our own meals when we didn't feel like dining out. Additionally, the proximity to the beach was a major advantage. Being able to walk to the beach and enjoy the stunning coastline at our leisure was a real treat.
Overall, our stay in the condo exceeded our expectations. The comfortable beds, attentive management, and convenient location made it a truly unforgettable experience. We would highly recommend this condo to anyone visiting Maui.

As I said above this was our first time on Maui and I couldn't have hoped for a better experience than to stay in a condo in Kihei and away from the big resorts on the island. This condo was great and met all of our needs. It was clean, close to the beach, in a quiet area, had accessible bbq's, a pool, and Valley Isle was very attentive.

We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return. The description of the property was accurate.
As many have mentioned, the location is ideal. Being across the street from the beach and playground was great for the child in our group. We could also walk to restaurants. Coconuts was our favorite! The unit is not on the complex's main green space which made it quieter especially in the evening.
The kitchen was well-equipped with plenty of glasses and dishes for our party of six.
We did not run out of hot water unless we took six showers in a row.
We were able to keep the unit comfortable with the fans and the front door open. Yes, the loft bedroom is warmer but could be cooled down at night.
The communication with the management was excellent. They responded within hours to a minor maintenance issue and were accommodating to our needs. There were clear directions on how to work the fans, lights, TV, etc.
Nothing beats coffee on the balcony in the morning with a view of the mountains and a peak at the water!

It was a very good location, 2 blocks away from the beach. Very clean community easy access to restaurants and beaches.
It is listed as three bedroom. But the upstairs bedroom is really a loft and not much privacy. Also the hot water is limited and runs out of all three bathrooms are having a shower.
Other than that, kitchen is stocked minimum Ly but we did not cook much so it does not matter too much to us.
The beds are all good. One bedroom had two twin beds and we were able to move the two twins together to make it a queen bed so it worked for a couple in our group.

I have no complaints with the property. Everyone was happy with unit the facilities and the included water sports equipment was great!
My issue is with the exorbitant variety of supplemental fees that ended up doubling the advertised nightly rate. Even on checkin after supposedly prepaying, there as an additional “resort fee”
While I would consider staying at Kamaole Sands again, I will never use VRBO to book a property

Loved the location. The unit is a bit tired but served the purpose. In general it was fine but a few improvements would make it great.
1. Lighting upstairs is poor. Perhaps a nightlight would help. Stairs are very close to bathroom door so a nightlight would be helpful
2. Heat pump compressor unit is located in lanai storage closet. Unit constantly blows hot air onto lanai making it very uncomfortable out there.

This condo was in a great location, although Google maps took us to an exit gate with a passcode rather than the main front gate.
The location could not have been better. Across the street from the beach.
The unit itself is great, but two call-outs.
First, it's a little beat up. Certainly not in bad shape, and I would stay here again, but it's well used and could do with a rehab.
Second, and more importantly, the main master bedroom is separated from the rest of the house by being on its own floor, but it is lofted! Meaning, it is open to the living room below. There is zero soundproofing between the living room below and the master above. There are certainly repressions to this, which I will let the reader figure out on their own. Suffice it to say the TV in the living room below blasts directly in to the master, it seems.
Overall nice place. Not the most modern, could use a rehab, but we were happy and I would stay again.

The condo is a great location across from the beach. We were able to walk to the beach everyday and night and watch the beautiful Maui sunset. The condo slept 8 comfortably 3 bathrooms was amazing. Made life very easy for all us . We stayed here for 6 days 5 adults and 3 children. Linen was clean and well stocked. The sofa bed worked well for my 2 teenage children. It has 2 car spaces which was great for us. We loved our stay here the lanai was so lovely for our morning coffee. The apartment had beach equipment which was so good we used the beach chairs and umbrella. We really enjoyed our stay here we would stay again .

This condo was wonderful for our large family! The hosts are amazingly friendly and accommodating. Apparently we were some of the first guests to stay here since this condo has been redone in October? The condo is not new, however it is well maintained and the AC system is terrific, however it was such nice weather on Maui, we didn’t need to use it much. The condo was very clean and well stocked. We would highly recommend this condo and this management company! We will be back!

Great rental. We rented it for 4 days. Location to the beach is amazing. The place was stocked with dishes and beach chairs which helped a lot. The only disappointment was after one person showered, there was no more hot water. Cold showers for a few days was still worth being in Hawaii.

The bed linens are damaged (holes) and not very clean (stained). Overall the condo requires some renovations in our View: e.g. AC Units standing on floors blocking space in rooms, base board in bed room loose, kitchen pantry smelling. But,

The grounds where this rental located was well maintained and lovely with regard to location but the condo itself was not well maintained . Very dated and lack of upkeep over years ,dirty looking carpet going upstairs to the loft bedroom, lpoor lighting in areas which requires maintenance , cabinet doors and chairs also need felt tabs as they made a lot of noise on closing and movement ,very annoying, there were some socks on the legs of the chairs which were very dirty . Patio landing storage doors to closet very dirty and table wasn't clean when we arrived. Just generally not a well maintained condo especially when paying the money we paid 8 thousand dollars Canadian for 11 nights . Friends had a condo in the same rental area and was so well kept compared to ours - was disappointed as I had booked this for my family in Maui for my sons wedding . Called the on call maintenance person as we had a problem with insects on our counter and few issues and he was rude to me ,talked at me like I was a child . It has been the first time over the years that I was so disappointed in a rental . This condo has great potential if it was updated. I would not recommend this unless you do not mind a low rating. Very dusting area rug ,sand and dust under it was not good a lot of issues I could list. ..

My family of 4 and two grandparents had a great stay. There was enough space for everyone to have a comfortable bed to sleep in and each room had its own bathroom. The kitchen was well stocked. The bedroom in the loft was a little warmer than the other rooms since it was open, but there was an AC unit and multiple standing fans available to make it more comfortable. Very convenient to have a full size washer & dryer in the unit. Nice that beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers and lots of other beach gear was available to use. Great location right across the street from a beach. We had a rental car, so this condo was a nice starting point to explore the island. Also good location to lots of food options and grocery stores. Would definitely stay here again and recommend this condo.

Property needs a remodel/refurbish, issues with washer vibrated out of control, soap dispenser doesn't release soap in dishwasher, moldy on refrigerator wall, beds just ok, walls painted, cooling units in bdrms should be replaced with a/c units too noisy, upstairs bedrm uncomfortable at times, 2 off white chairs had stains, bathrooms & showers need remodeled.

Kamaole facilities & amenities are very nice, we stayed at complex before...lovely unit with fresh flowers on dining table. We're responsible VRBO renters, washed majority of towels, we left sheets & few towels on washer as we had an early flight. Kitchen clean.

The condo seriously needs updating. Several outlets did not work or were coming off the wall. The pullout bed was in horrible shape and not able to be used because of the thin matted mattress. The showerheads are so low that really only 5'4" person (or shorter) can fit under them. The ACs did not work well, really warm inside.

A short walk to the beach and even closer walk to the pool and beautiful grounds made this a favorite location for us. The condo kitchen was well stocked for meal prep. Trash chute right outside the door by the elevator was convenient. It was nice to have 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. The well stocked "fun closet" included beach chairs and umbrella, surf boards of various sizes, and a picnic cooler in the pantry. Parking was nice and close. Check in went quickly and the management team responded to our requests for information in a timely way, including when room was ready for check-in.

This condo was perfect for our family. We had 6 people who stayed here, and having 3 bathrooms was wonderful! This place is in need of an upgrade. We stayed in 5 condos during our month long stay and this was the least favorable. The quality of towels was even subpar. The cooking utensils were flimsy and pots were scratched. Beds were very soft as AC was loud. Lights needed bulbs. Everyone was very nice and screen door was fixed immediately but the place just lacked a vibrant spirit. If they fix it up it would be awesome. Just tell people it’s a low grade condo or that it’s been a while since it’s been redone. Thanks. We made it work for ourselves.

We were a family group of 5 adults. This condo unit in Kihei served us well. 3 bedrooms and baths. The facility has a nice pool area, tennis courts and is across the street from the best beach on the Island. It’s an easy drive to anywhere on the Island. Lots of restaurants and shopping close by. The management was quick to respond to an issue we had with the dishwasher. The unit is dated and could use sprucing up. The description did note that the top floor bedroom only has fans - it was very warm as it’s the top of the building. The other rooms have individual ac units - odd we thought that it doesn’t have central air. Maybe that’s normal there. Overall a good value for a great vacation.

I think they should of warned us about it prior to our check-in. The TV in the master bedroom should be replaced. The picture quality is going bad and the volume was horrible. It's either really loud or low.

Awesome location and very convenient. We hade a wonderful stay in Maui. The only downside was the air conditioning struggled to keep the condo comfortable. The space was very clean and comfortable. The kids enjoyed the beach supplies.

Overall the experience was great! The only thing we struggled with was there really wasn’t much for basic staples in the kitchen or for laundry (just dryer sheets). We have stayed at many of these types of listings previously and that was something I felt should be noted. If you aren’t going to do much in the kitchen or grilling, etc then the rest of the condo was perfect! It was room enough for our whole family and there was room to gather for eating and hanging out in the living room. We also asked to be considered for early check in (toddler) and it was not a problem so we were grateful for that.
Maui is an exceptionally busy island but the location of the condo was in an area of beauty and relative quiet.
I would recommend a stay here - much better than the Lahaina side - just my opinion.

Everything was great and worked out perfect for what we needed. Lots of beach chairs, sand toys and boogie boards. The condo was very comfortable and the amenities were all great. Wendi with the management was awesome, very friendly and accomodating. We would absolutely recommend this place to anyone.

The property was fine, but the unit was terrible. We couldn't walk barefoot in the unit because our feet would get all black from the the floors and filthy area rug in the living room. The unit was not clean. The beds were very uncomfortable. The TV in the bedroom did not work. This unit was nothing like the pictures online. Very old and needs updating.

A well appointed condo with modern furnishings. Extra soft sheets on comfortable beds. Conveniently located near attractions in Kihei and Wailea. A bonus is the shaded parking right by the elevator.

This property had plenty of room for my husband and I, our two kids and my parents. The grounds are beautiful and clean. The unit was well stocked with dishes etc and to our surprise even some condiments and spices left by previous guests! Emily was quick to respond to any questions/concerns we had and even offered to reimburse us for the new pans we bought (the ones that were there were very scratched and teflon chipping off, no longer “non stick”) Short walk to the beach although we ended up driving most days because we had so much stuff to carry. We will definitely be back to Kamaole sands!

Amazing location and amenities, close enough to everything you need to walk. Condo was just the right size and had everything we needed for a family of 6 to enjoy themselves comfortably. Do need to add TVs in the other 2 bedrooms and update the 2 existing ones as they are distorted and the volume is touchy but other then that it was awesome. This was our 5th year in Maui and 3rd at Kamaole Sands, we love the beach across the street and 808 sandwiches a couple blocks away. Mai Tai Wednesdays are the best, we will be returning next year!!!

Property location was great. Unit is in back corner, 5 minutes to beach. Beach was great for Sunday and ready morning snorkel, even saw a turtle.
Loft bedroom was very warm as others have reported. I thought November would be better than summer for the heat, but the afternoon sun makes the area very warm every day. Perhaps shades on the upper windows would help.
Enjoyed the beach chairs, umbrella and boards for our days at the beach. Cooler available was a great bonus.

The pack and play was damaged. The baby we had with us was small enough that it didn’t matter.

Clean, large unit which is perfect for a wonderful family vacation. Plenty of room with a well stocked kitchen and pantry. The unit has all the beach toys you'll need along with chairs and towels. A five minute walk to an incredible beach, wonderful stores, equipment rentals, bars, and restaurants. Emily was a treat to deal with and helped us out when our airline changed our flight times. Would definitely stay here again.

There's only a couple things that could've went better the loft was so hot up there that the couple stay in there had trouble sleeping and the exhaust from the master bedroom air-conditioner goes out on the patio so there's hot air blowing Out there

The condo has a great location in a great complex. Close to a range of beaches and restaurants. Plus the pool at Kamaole Sands is great for kids too. The unit itself made for a comfortable stay for four adults and two kids. Most importantly, Emily was a great person to work with. She was very quick, and responsive to any questions or requests that came up during out stay. I would recommend you stay here! If my family and I are lucky enough to be able to return to Maui we would stay here again.

We really enjoyed this unit, and it came exactly as shown. It was very clean and modern. Appliances aren't top-of-the-line, but they were more than serviceable with nothing broken. The manager was super great to deal with and easily contacted. We appreciated the many fans and independent A/C. There was plenty of space for the 7 of our extended family and the well appointed kitchen was put to use every day. There were plenty of towels and bedding, but we still put the washer/dryer to use. It was wonderful to find chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards & sand toys in the lanai closet. We put them to good use! Kamaole III beach was the favourite of the kids as they could build, snorkel, boogie, and watch sea turtles all from one beach! But the location is so great that you can visit many beaches/shops/restaurants/activities without having to get on the highway. While staying in the complex, we appreciated the many bbq's and the pool (especially on Mai Tai Wednesday)!
There are a couple downsides to be aware of, but they shouldn't scare you off from coming. This unit is in building 8, so has the longest walk, in this complex, to the beach. There's also lots of construction vehicles around at the moment. You have to walk through extensive parking lots to get to the pool, the beach, the bbq or the garden as there are no handy sidewalks. This was a concern for my kids, as they like to be independent but I wouldn't let them leave the building without an adult.
Also, this unit has the small lanai, so eating outdoors was not an option. It would comfortably seat 2, but there are seats for 4. To eat outdoors meant taking everything for the meal down 4 floors, through the parking lot to the bbq.
Overall, we would definitely come again if we had a group this large.
