This was a truly beautiful view from every window. The property was clean and accurately described. Although there is some deferred maintenance that should be addressed, overall, the property is in good condition. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Was a perfect place for our family of 5. Clean, spacious, great view, and perfect location. Amenities and everything that was in the place for us to use was so convenient. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful ocean views, close to the beach.

The only thing that’s nice about this unit is the view. The curtains are ripped and don’t work in the living room. The ceiling fan in the dining room doesn’t work. Walls need to be painted, toilet paper holders are missing from the wall. We could never get the TV in the living room to work, the communication with the property manager is terrible. I reached out to them every day and I never got a response on the phone just that someone would contact me via text. There should be a check in binder in the unit with instructions and passwords for Internet. the whole condo unit was experiencing electrical outages , so those were challenges that we had to face. If The owner of the unit would spend some money for some much-needed repairs. It would be a nice unit. However, we will not be staying here again, nor will we recommend this unit. We live on the island of Kauai and we are property managers ourselves.

There was 7 of us staying. 3 adults and 4 adult kids. Having a sleeper sofa, and the air matresses provided were great. We were hardly there since we were out enjoying the island. It worked out great for us, and would stay again.

The apartment was perfect for our party of five. It was spacious enough that we didn’t feel on top of each other. The view from the balcony was amazing!

The curtains don't close all the way, are torn, and the apparatus do not function properly; the sliding doors to the lanai do not lock, which made me nervous with a two year old. The shower curtains were stained; there was no plug for the tub drain, no toilet paper holders--just a lot of standard accommodations I would have expected for the amount of money I was spending. Also, it was advertised that the Ilikai charges $28 for parking and they charge $45, so that was another surprise. Not what I expected. The rest of the unit seemed fine.

The view was amazing! The curtains were broken. I called to request more towels and they never called me back. The shutters on the doors were broken. Not enough toilet tissue for 6 guest. The shower curtain smelled like mildew. Everything else was fine.

Overall this is a great property and location, it just needs someone to pay attention to some easily fixable details. There were no instructions about what to do with the garbage. I left messages with the mgmnt company twice and no one got back to me until almost the end of our stay. We had bags of garbage sitting in the room for days. We paid a pretty hefty sum to stay here, so I would expect a little higher quality of place. The good- Excellent location, nice building, and great layout of the room. We really enjoyed our stay. The bad- room was not cleaned well, I had to sweep twice after check in, and got large piles of sand off the floor. A few other cleaning misses as well. The front closet doors were off track and just hanging there. Some fresh caulking around the tubs/showers etc, would go a long way. The cookware is terrible, old stainless steel, worn out pans. I bought a new non-stick pan just so we could cook breakfast without it sticking (which we left behind for the next guests to enjoy). Owners could easily replace it all for less than $100. There is an iron, but no ironing board. The boogie boards that were available for use, are so old and busted up, that we had to go buy new ones (which we also left behind). The curtains were falling off and didn't work well. There are blackout type curtains in the second bedroom, but not the master. The sun comes up on the master side, so it was bright as day in there by 6:30am- so much for sleeping in on vacation. These small details are easily fixable for a few hundred dollars, and some attention from the owners or management company. They could have been the difference between a 3 star and 5 star rating. This could be an amazing rental property, if someone just took the time to keep on top of these simple items before they become an issue. Thank you.

The unit was a nice spot for our young family. Playpen was provided for baby to sleep in. There were sand toys, beach towels and beach chairs available for us to use. Functional kitchen. The pullout bed worked okay for a child, but would not be very soft for an adult to sleep on. The building is older; this unit has been renovated. Very easy to walk to the beach using the pedestrian ramp that connects to the lobby level. You first access the Hilton lagoon area (which is public), then can continue to main Waikiki beach. The lobby level swimming pool water was kept warm, my kids loved it on cooler/windy days. Onsite restaurants and shopping was convenient, and lots of restaurants and shops in the Hilton Hawaiian Village next door, very easy to walk to.

The property the Ilikai grounds were very well kept. The condo could use some sprucing up. Balconies could use some more furniture. One balcony didn't have any chairs to sit at. We experienced a water leak in the shower from the until above and could not get the contact person to return a call. Got hotel involved who later found that a pipe had a leak, Hall way to our unit was littered with trash cans and large blowers that were loud and annoying. Wallpaper falling off the wall. Just not what we had expected for our first experience in Hawaii.

The Ikilai is an older property but this unit was recently renovated. There were some immediate issues - the sofabed was horribly uncomfortable and the couch stinks and should be replaced, there were long, dark hairs on the walls in the master bathroom, the toilets didn't flush well, and the master bathtub did not drain well and was difficult to turn on. There are blinds giving privacy to the two bedrooms but they are broken and look bad. There is a leak on the main lanai so when you sit there you get dripped on (no rain until our last full day). A note was left at the front desk but they were very rude and did not fix or respond during our stay. I reached out again to Garnd Welcome after our stay and they ignored me as well, so I am writing this review. The beds were very comfortable but the ACs as very loud. The kitchen was well-stocked. The unit is at the end of the hallway so very quiet from neighbors. There is no laundry in the unit but down the hall from the unit....there was a weird and smelly guy sitting on our floor by the elevators so we didn't feel safe to do our laundry or have our daughters go out on their own. We did tell security and they dealt with it immediately.. We had towels drying on chairs on the lanai (not over the railing) and security came into the unit without permission or notice and took them off the chairs, scaring my daughter. The check-in time and check-out times are ridiculous and Grand Welcome refused to let us check-out at noon so we had somewhere to stay while waiting to go to the airport. Lastly, the pool is deep but has short hours (closes at 7/7:30) and does not allow jumping in. The lady running it was very nice though. The grocery store staff were awesome too. For the money, I would really stay somewhere else. There are comparable units throughout Waikiki where we have stayed before and felt much more welcome. By the way, I have stayed at many VRBOs and have never left a bad review before.

Good, no plug for sink or bath. Great to have beach chairs, towels, umbrellas etc saved a lot of money. No dishwasher was tough with having six people, quality of pots and pans not great and dirty along with oven. No outdoor furniture on one of the balconies. Otherwise, the accommodation was great with wonderful views thanks so much

Clean, lovely, bright, this property was spacious with a fabulous view! You get the best of both worlds here— the marina to the right and the beach to the left. This was the perfect place for our family of five!

This is not only a nice condo to stay at with great views but it is within walking distance of shops, restaurants and the beach. I found the condo to be as described in the listing. I would stay here again.

Condo was spacious and clean. It was close to everything so we were able to walk to food and things. There is a store downstairs for snacks and an ice cream shop that my kids enjoyed. A few things to note, it is a bit bright at night and curtains aren’t black out curtains. We also ran out of bath towels and had to do a load of laundry. They gave us one each for the 6 of us staying there for 6 days so that was kinda bummer but they did have laundry facilities down the hallway that took credit cards so that made it easy. The air conditioning units are very loud so we didn’t run them at night. Using just the fans at night was cool enough. We loved the chairs and cooler they let us use. We used those a few times and prob need to be replaced soon because they have been well loved.

I used to live on Oahu so I know it pretty well. I thought this location would be ideal and it sure was. What I was pleasantly surprised with was the 2 bedroom condo, which was perfect for our two families. The kids slept on the fold out couch and each couple had a room. The view was phenomenal. It was perfect.

Our family of 6 stayed comfortably in this 2 bedroom unit. Nice views and furnished with all needed amenities. The management clearly communicated the directions on how to check in. The only things I would suggest is to park behind the hotel in the marina/harbor lot. It is only $1.00 an hour and you can park overnight. The Ilikai Hotel charges $35.00 a night. Second, the larger bedrooms’ air conditioner is extremely loud and needs to be serviced.. Besides that, this place is perfect for a family and is walkable to many hotels and beaches.

Great condo with everything we needed for a wonderful stay. Pool on property with a market and restaurant in the lobby making it very convenient. Only downside is no on-site self park so you have to park across the street or valet.

June 2022
This was a great unit & the location was perfect. The only reason for the 4-star rating is that the floors were dirty, as in make your feet black dirty, but there were cleaning supplies there & we did a quick mop. The unit is very well appointed with kitchen essentials, is very comfortable and the bonus of beach towels, chairs, umbrellas and snorkeling equipment was amazing. If you have a car, parking is convenient but you do need to plan for the expense. Cinnamon's is AMAZING and you must plan to try the pistachio pancackes!! We would definitely stay again.

The views were amazing & it was so nice to have space to spread out with teenagers! Fully stocked kitchen was great for breakfast & coffee in the room. Deck chairs are a great perk for taking to the beach. A couple things to fix for next guests: guest bathroom shower drain, no lampshades on 2 lamps in living room , one of the beach umbrellas is broken…overall amazing & will book again! Mahalo!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a return stay for the three of us at the Ilikai, as we stayed here last year in Feb. - March. The unit has a very nice feel and an excellent view of the lagoon and ocean. Chris, our rental contact, did a great job communicating with us regarding our planning & stay. We were greeted this year with a wonderful new white couch which was very comfortable as well a good looking. Even though the couch would seat three or four people, this unit lacked an easy chair to make for convenient visiting. We were pleased with the quick response when we asked for the carpet spots to be cleaned. The kitchen was well appointed with cooking equipment and dishes. All appliances worked well. The bedrooms were comfortable and small details were addressed when brought to Chris's attention. (Shower heads replaced etc.) Of the two lanais, one had an unusable plastic chair and the second lanai had nearly new chairs, appropriate for short uses, but not for setting in the 'Hawaiian Sun' for longer periods of time. (A chaise lounge chair would have been a nice touch.) The TV was of appropriate size and good quality, but because its location is facing the windows, afternoon watching is nearly impossible without some black out shades, similar to what is in the bedrooms. (But who should be watching TV in the daytime anyway?) Over all, we enjoyed our stay and will look forward to working with Chris again for a future vacation.

This was our first visit to Hawaii and our first Condo rental. The unit was pretty well as pictured in the ad except for the lanai furniture. It was quite spacious, and well suited for two couples as the bedrooms were on opposite ends of the unit. Having two lanais was great in that they were two completely different views and climate zones. The ocean view lanai was sheltered from the wind while the other gave a view of waikiki hotels and up to Diamond Head and was much breezier and cool. With both open, we hardly needed the air conditioner. The interior is well furnished and functional. We liked the easy access to beaches, which are quieter and just as nice as the ones further down waikiki beach. Cons: WiFi and phone service were not working when we arrived which was quite worrisom. This was however fixed quite promptly after we contacted the property manager (who by the way was top notch!). It's really unfortunate that the owners really cheaped out on the lanai furniture (plastic chairs that bent if you leaned back on them and two tiny square plastic tables that could have passed for footrests. We were afraid to rest our glasses or other breakable items on the tables as they were easily moved or knocked over - definitely not the furniture in the pictures). As we spent a lot of time on the lanais, enjoying the great weather and beautiful view, this really took away from what is really a nice unit. Furnish the lanais properly and the rating would be "excellent" (thus the great potential). Overall we enjoyed the unit and the hotel and would definitely stay there again. Overally

Not sure why there are no reviews for this property yet so I guess I’ll do my thing and be the first. Walking in to the Ilima Suite was more like a relief to me than anything else. I was surprised to find everything just like the pictures on VRBO or maybe even a little better. The view is really better than the pictures. It was a stressful thing for us when deciding on a place because it had to happen quickly. Our trip was not planned in advance. We found out about a month or so before that we were going to see our son before he deployed to Iraq. The place is nice, bright and clean. A great layout for two couples that would like some privacy in my opinion as the bedrooms are totally opposite of each other with each having their own rather large lanai. One faces downtown, the other the ocean but you can still see everything from both. The kitchen was functional and the living area had beautiful views of the harbor, lagoon and ocean. There were plenty of beach towels, a cooler and even a boogie board for the kids. I've read some things about the Ilikai being older and showing age but we didn't find that to be an issue at all. It was nice and had beautiful foliage throughout and everything was well kept. Didn't use the pool which we could see or the restaurants though. We were busy checking out Waikiki and the surrounding area. I did have one complaint or gripe if you will. The parking for the hotel is outrageous. It ended up being $20 a day so being there for eight days, I spent a small fortune just parking the rental. I must say the valets were always courteous and very fast getting the car back to us when we needed it. I called it a necessary evil. We loved Waikiki, everything about it. Had some good eating experiences although we found Top of Waikiki a bit overrated if not for the view. Portions were small and the prices we saw advertised at street level were not what we saw on the menu. Yes, the food is pretty pricey IMO for all of Waikiki. We ended up eating at the Hale Koa during the day when we were at the beach. It was very reasonable for a burger and fries, etc and close to where we were staying. I can't expound on all my experiences because the review limits the characters (a pain) unlike Trip Advisor where I've done some very detailed reviews but I'd have to say overall staying at this property was a great experience and I would go again if the price is right. Every place we inquired about was negotiable. Just ask. PS. Try Kona coffee. :-)
