It smells dank. The bedroom is claustrophobic. The main room walls, mat, and especially the upholstery is so ugly. On the positive side, you are steps from the ocean. You will be up to your ankles when you step in the Ocean. F

Our recent stay in Hauula was absolutely fantastic! The place was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable vacation. The host was incredibly responsive and accommodating, making check-in and communication a breeze. But the true star is the location, right on the ocean. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a wonderful VRBO rental that is a little off the beaten path as far as touristy stuff goes, but your own private ocean front is impossible to beat. We did make the short drive to the Polynesian Cultural Center and also took in the sights on the way to Haleiwa for a day. All-in-all a great place.

We really enjoyed being this close to the ocean for a few days. Went to the Byodo-in temple and the Polynesian cultural center while we were on this side of the island. Lance was awesome and informative. He is actually an exceptional artist. A tip for him…put some more of your artwork in the unit and offer them for sale to the guests. It would liven up the space and probably boost print sales.

Absolutely gorgeous backyard leading to steps down to the water. It's even better than it looks in the VRBO photos. Amazing sunrise every morning. Place was spotless, nice little extras like maps, tote bag and beach towels. Pleasant surprise, you can barely hear the traffic go by. Parking was narrow, but totally doable, plus local drivers are very kind and will give you time and space - that we found all around Oahu. Thanks Lance for a small slice of heaven on the sea.

Wonderful stay on the North Shore away from the crowds. Beach front location was great. Watched the sun rise each morning and fell asleep to the sound of the ocean each night.
There was plenty of space and had what we needed.

Lance’s property is in just the right place to head south for the big city or north to the beaches of the north shore. Excellent sunrise views. Accommodations were clean and simple, perfect for a getaway. I recommend that you rent a compact car to make parking easier.

This property has some positives and several negatives. The positives: comfortable bed, overall the property is clean, has direct beach access, full size frig and washer and dryer.
The negatives: there is only AC in the bedroom (on hot days; like when we were there, the rest of the space is not comfortable), and yes, the small winodw AC will drone all night; there is no stove (just a hot plate and toaster); unless you have a small vehicle, you will not fit in the parking space next to the property...while there is space out front, the owner prefers you don't park there.
As for the location, note that the best beaches are to the north (towards Turtel Bay), starting at Laie Bay...

Small dated apartment, but just what we needed. We had a wonderful time although I must say getting out of the parking area at times was challenging. There is an air conditioner in the bedroom only, but all you have to do is open the sliding door to get a good breeze in the living area. Enjoyed staying out of the big city, much more relaxing.

This place is NOT in the heart of the city and that’s what we loved. Amazing ocean front view with privacy. Fruit stands, food trucks. Not commercial and off the beaten path

This property offers great views of the water, exciting waves at high tide and beach access at low tide. Great host. Only negative was the property next door had very load kids which we were not expecting so this took a little away from the relaxing on the deck/lawn chairs.

My husband and I stayed only 3 nights but it was just the right amount of time for us. Because we came from a resort on another island, the contrast was extreme. This apartment is exactly what the description in the listing provided. It’s basic, no frills with a full glass wall that gives a view of a small grass area leading down a few steps to the ocean. The palm tree (coconuts too) and lounge chairs are part of the show but the ocean and skies with ever changing clouds are spectacular. The apartment is simple with good shower (pressure), comfortable king bed, older furniture that is certainly adequate, washer/dryer (we didn’t use), a wall a/c and ceiling fans. It took opening windows for a cross breeze that helped cool down the rooms. No complaints about this rental. We were the ones who had to adjust our perception. It really is perfect. Thank you Lance.

My wife and I really enjoyed this awesome place. It was in a perfect location away from all the tourists, yet close enough to the city and close to the northshore. Lance was great and super helpful. Enjoyed the backyard and having a washer and dryer was a plus! Highly recommend this place.

We had a wonderful time. Close to Polynesian cultural center and beautiful north shore beaches and small town good eats. Yet out of the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. Beautiful Ocean view and nice place to walk beach in
The morning when the surf is out. We left some clothes in the dryer by accident and our host Lance was so kind as to mail it pack to us - no charge. So very kind. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quiet low key place.

The location was great and so close to the ocean and mostly very private and so very nice and quiet. The upstairs was also rented to another party while we were there but we hardly ever saw them. This a great location to head in any direction of the island. Check-in n out was super simple.

Place had everything we needed and location was great for exploring the North Shore. Bed was comfortable, Bathroom and Washer/Dryer (remember to bring detergent) were very functional. Full Sized Fridge was great Sitting area on the water was wonderful in the morning and water was great for a dip. Couches inside could be updated as they were the most comfortable which probably wouldn't have mattered to us but we sat on them a bunch watching the superbowl. We did get some bug bites sitting on the grass so bring your bug spray. Would stay here again as great value for the price.

January 2024
Beautiful waterfront property and great location to explore different parts of the island. Lots of space inside with everything needed to cook simple meals. Parking was a little tight and difficult at times to exit the property since the highway was quite busy, but just required extra patience. Would definitely stay again and recommend for anyone looking for a private place to relax!
December 2023
We got exactly what we wanted. It’s indescribable, the beauty and the moods of the ocean. Privacy is complete. Bus stops in both directions are walked to in OK that’s better just a matter of steps. My health is not the best and I didn’t have any problems.
I advise bringing water shoes because and he does state this, the steps are slippery so just get yourself some of those little slip on with sole grips and you can go in.
I have a friend whose husband was stationed here for many years and she said that we went exactly where we needed to be. Primo.
Aloha!

September 2023
We chose this property because of it being away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu. It wasn’t our first time on the island. We spent our honeymoon here 24 years ago on the North shore. It was exactly like the pictures in the VRBO advertisement. You can cook basic items on the 2 burner stovetop, but there are many local restaurants and food trucks to choose from in Hauula, Laie and surrounding towns.
it was clean and the bed was very comfortable.
The shower was basic and won’t win any awards but it was clean and did the job. Washer and dryer were a nice treat. We still did all the excursions, just plan appropriately. We choose afternoon snorkel out of Ko’Olina and early morning Hanauma Bay. (That we left about 4:45am) we were picked up at the Hyatt place and parked there. The living area gets hot, sauna like after being closed up all day but open the sliding door and turn on the ceiling fan and it’s nice. AC in bedroom was great. The view is OUTSTANDING ! We would definitely stay again here. Hosts were responsive as well. Aloha

Up country. Like going back in time 60 years. North Shore close. Amazingly gorgeous beaches, parks and mountains. You could sit on the lawn the entire time and never want to leave. Totally different Hawaiian experience than a resort. I’ll be back.

August 2023
This was a great location on the North Shore with access to the water steps away and beautiful sunrises and stars in the night sky. Lance was extremely helpful with suggestions for places to eat and very accommodating when we requested the grill. This rustic location was perfect for us because we were there to relax and unwind. The only thing we found difficult was parking due to traffic on the street outside (surprisingly once inside we rarely knew it was even there). Although the water was accessible if you have children it may be a bit difficult navigating some of the waves but for adults we found it very pleasant. Also we found that there was another rental upstairs and had a couple times where the renters made their way to the grassy area outside of our hideaway so please know if both places are rented you may see others outside enjoying the beautiful view.

July 2023
This place is a lovely cottage that sits only a few meters from the ocean and provides a gorgeous, eastward facing living space that is refreshing to sit in whilst enjoying the wind and waves. The interior is rustic if a bit simple, but it has all the important things covered, with a two burner portable electric griddle for cooking and a window A/C unit in the bedroom for cooling (which we never used - it's more than enough to just open the windows, turn on the ceiling fans, and let the ocean breeze do its work).
The location is a little tricky to find unless you pay very close attention and look out for the building's sign; fortunately it's right on the Kamehama highway so it's very easy to get in and out of to head out to any of the area towns on the North shore. There are two grocery stores less than 10 minutes away, and the view will never get old whether you're looking out to sea or inward towards Oahu's towering mountainous interior.
Do yourself a favor when you check in and just sit and stare at the ocean waves for a bit from the back porch when you arrive - you'll immediately feel your stress and cares melt away, carried off by the pacific island breeze.

This was a wonderful home away from home for my husband and I. The ac in the bedroom was perfect and much needed! The location is beautiful and you just can’t beat the view!! We saw sea turtles swimming in the mornings and evenings. The place was very clean and Lance had everything we needed for the first couple of days like shampoo and coffee! :) Lance was also very quick to respond any time we had questions. We enjoyed our time here! The space is rustic but has everything you need and boy, you can't beat the view! A good place if you have kids, they can easily play in the water, the large waves break quite a ways out. 5 coconuts all the way around!

Location was absolutely wonderful. beautiful unobstructed ocean view, and fairly quiet.
Futon was a bit dingy and dated.
Bare bones for kitchen gear, toaster was scary to use.

Owner said there were beach chairs but we could not find them.

From the moment we arrived very satisfied. Beautiful view on the ocean. Sunrises are amazing from your back door. Walk into the water at low tide and see fish swimming. You can snorkel and there is a sandy beach just a 2 min walk. Had everything we needed for our stay. Quiet area grocery store, gas, local food within a few minute drive. Polynesian cultural center 10 min drive, north shore beaches 20 min drive. Beautiful drive from wikikki. Basic amenities, but everything we needed for morning coffee and breakfast. Lance was great, he made sure we had everything we needed. The place was clean.HIGHLY recommend. I wish we would have booked for 2 more days.

December 2022
This house was perfect for my husband and I who were on our honeymoon and wanted to stay away from the hustle and bustle of a crowded resort. Gorgeous sunrises every morning. Beach right out the door. We saw many sea turtles each morning.

December 2022
My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay at this property. The view is obviously one of the best parts in the backyard area. We saw sea turtles everyday and although we did not snorkel out back ourselves, one could do so. The house was also quiet at night and the neighbors are very respectful and not loud. There are so many things to explore on the island, and this house was perfectly situated in the middle of the North Shore and Honolulu. The host was also very communicative and easy to deal with when booking, checking in and out.

November 2022
Super happy with this rental. The location was perfect. The views were INCREDIBLE. All necessities were there within the home. AC in the bedroom was a MAJOR PLUS. It did rain intermittently throughout our stay and have to shut the sliding door which does make the unit hot but this should be expected in Hawaii, not the fault of the owner. The surf was choppy not really a swimming beach but during low tide I did go in for a few dips. Beaches more suitable for swimming all within near distance. This place was meticulously clean! One thing I could recommend is a more comfortable bed, but this is everyone’s preference which may be different from mine. I really enjoyed my stay and feel blessed to have had the opportunity to stay at this beautiful rental. Mahalo!

October 2022
We loved our stay at this property. Watching the sunrise every morning was amazing! Having the ocean so close was the best. It was fun to go out and walk on the wet sand when the tide was low, and we enjoyed watching the waves crash on the wall during high tide. One morning we even saw sea turtles out in the water while we were sitting on the porch enjoying the morning.
Check in was super easy. Everything was clean and the kitchen was well stocked for cooking meals (the hotplate was easy to use as well). It was nice to have a washer and dryer to use when we needed it. The bedroom is the only room that has A/C and it works great.
This property is super close to all North Shore areas, which made it easy to get to the places we wanted to visit. Getting to Honolulu was not difficult either.
Lance was very timely with a couple of things that we needed his help with. He even brought us two body boards for us to use, which saved us some money.
We would book this property again due to the location right on the ocean.

This place was very clean and a great location away from the hustle and bustle of the bigger cities. The AC in the bedroom was a godsend as the rest of the place has no AC. Very happy and would stay here again! Thnx for staying available Lance! Lance, the host, was great.

I stayed here with my husband for a week for our first time in Hawaii. The unit was incredibly comfortable, clean, and perfect for our trip. The view is unmatched, and we saw sea turtles swimming from the back yard several times! Our host Lance was communicative, accommodating, and has true aloha spirit. We had ZERO problems whatsoever. The unit was private, had easy parking, good water pressure, and NO bugs! We will definitely be staying here again! 10/10

The downstairs unit was exactly what my husband & I were looking for on our first adult vacation in 3 years. Listening to the waves & relaxing with a cup of coffee in the morning was pure bliss. If you are looking for big city amenities this is not the place. Come here for the simple pleasure of watching the turtles & grabbing a take out meal from local food trucks.

June 2022
Overall, my wife and I found the property and location very peaceful and relaxing. Steps away from the ocean. We went swimming and snorkeling. The sunrise is spectacular. The amenities are average, but we were really only looking for something no to get by. You are really paying for the proximity to the ocean, the view, and peace and quiet. With that being said, there were a couple of things not listed in the description that would be helpful. 1. Depending on the time of year, termites swarm at 7:30pm if there is little or no wind. During this time you have to keep the lights off, otherwise they swarm towards the light. Now, it was windy during our entire stay and so we didn’t encounter a swarm of termites. But still would have been nice to know this was a possibility before we booked. 2. The owner of this property also rents out a house which shares the beach access. This means you do see others walk past your lanai and become part of your view from time to time. Overall, this was a really nice stay for us. The owner was really nice and responsive. At one point the sliding screen door came off the track and needed to be repaired. He came quickly and took care of it. That was greatly appreciated.

June 2022
Great location if you want to be in a smaller secluded town. Amazing sunrise every morning, with nice ocean views right in front of the place. The host was super accommodating, they would bring us everything that we had asked for, detergent, beach chairs, etc, and communication was great!
If I could give the place a 4.5 I would, the only drawbacks were the “beach” was a smaller rocky spot with about 3 feet of water, so you couldn’t really swim in it. I’m sure it would be a great snorkel spot, however, we just never tried it. The tide would rise in the afternoon making it very rough waters as well. It wasn’t a huge issue for us, and there is a swimmable beach within walking distance, but the pictures makes it seem as though you have a personal beach that you can walk right into from the backyard.
There is also no kitchen and only had one small hot plate, so if you’re looking to cook food this isn’t the place.
It does get very hot in the place if you don’t have windows and the sliding door open, just something to be aware of.
We stayed here for 3 nights which was perfect, I honestly can’t see anyone staying longer than that just because it is such a secluded spot, far from major attractions, and has no kitchen.
Overall fun spot for a couple of nights with some drawbacks!

May 2022
My husband and I splurged when we booked this property. I justified it because we were right on the beach and we wouldn’t have to drive to one… or so I thought. I don’t know if we were just really unlucky, but every day of our 8-night stay was incredibly windy and overcast, and the water was SUPER rough. We decided to travel to a nicer beach… every single day. A few miles down the road it was beautiful all day every day. Again, I’m not sure if we were unlucky or if that’s just the way it always is in Hauula. The tide came in every afternoon, so even if the water wasn’t rough, we would’ve only had the morning to enjoy the beach. Reading older reviews, it looks like we were lucky to even get a beach at all. Call me dumb, but I expected a nicer beach for the price.
Beyond the beach, which the property owners obviously can’t control, the property is behind a shop that never appeared to be open so parking wasn’t an issue, but it was dated and musty. We had to wash the dishes after storing them in the cupboards because of the smell, even if we had just washed the dishes the day prior. The towels had to be washed prior to using them as well. Also the kitchen sink was full of ants one morning.
There is only a hot plate, microwave, and toaster - no stove or oven. There’s no place to put toiletries in the bathroom except on the floor. There’s a window AC unit but ONLY in the bedroom and it blows lukewarm air so the whole place is hot all of the time. The internet/WiFi kept going out randomly, was super slow, and had a very weak signal. The lock on the sliding glass doors was broken when we arrived. The property manager was responsive and came the next day to replace it, but he said it had broken a few times in the past as well.
Something else to know is the yard is shared with another unit, so if you’re looking for a private yard/property, you’ll need to look elsewhere. The neighbors weren’t noisy or bothersome at all and we only saw them a handful of times, it’s just something to consider.
Finally, the property is in Hauula, a good hour away from Honolulu… so if you book any excursions/tours, you’ll likely be driving a long time to get there. If you’re looking for a place out in the middle of nowhere where the shops are all closed on Sunday, this place is for you.
We appreciated the responsiveness of the hosts, but we would not return.
Karen W.

Quiet, peaceful sitting area in back of house to view ocean and relax. It is a common area shared with another rental unit. Plenty of privacy and overall a good little place to spend hours taking in the beauty of the island.

March 2022
This is a place with the ocean about 50 feet from the living room. If that's all you need you are good! Some decent places to eat within 10 minutes drive. The area has no night life so if that's what you want stay else where.
Sarah D.
March 2022
With a private backyard and access to the ocean, this property is perfect if you're looking for a secluded getaway. Although there are neighbors on either side, the backyard felt very private and I did not hear any noise at all. The sunrises are truly incredible and made it feel like I was on my own private island!

This property is 25feet from the ocean. Absolutely fantastic sunrises. It was very quiet and made you really feel like you were on Hawaiian time.

February 2022
Tish was a super welcoming host! We loved meeting her! The property was exactly as pictured, truly stunning! My only note is the north shore is about a 40 min drive. That’s where all the restaurants and little shops are so something to keep in mind if you book! Otherwise, we loved it and highly recommend! Mahalo, Tish!

Wonderful location & view. Enjoyed the sunrise each morning we were there. The condo was exactly as described and the owner wonderful to work with.

February 2022
We had a great time in this house. It is a little spartan, and you should know there is no oven or regular stovetop. There is a microwave, and a small portable hot plate we could cook with. But the whole front room is glass looking at the ocean (not a sandy beach) and the owners are very nice and helpful! It’s not the Ritz, but it’s not priced that way either. Quiet location, on the ocean, worked well for us!

We enjoyed our stay, small grass/sand back yard, stairs down into ocean. Large, comfortable living/dining/kitchen area, floor-to-ceiling ocean view. Microwave and hot-plate, no full stove.

January 2022
I enjoyed my stay at this comfortable, very spacious place very much. It's the perfect place to explore the North Shore, but also to head to the Kailua/Lanikai area. Swim, snorkel or walk the beach right out front. And the view is simply amazing, beautiful sunrises and great sunsets. Hope to be able to come back some time!

October 2021
This place was perfect for our trip! The neighborhood is nestled in between gorgeous beach and mountain views, conveniently just a short drive from activities on the north and east shore. The backyard view is amazing, and we spent several lovely mornings enjoying our coffee while watching the sunrise over the ocean from the lounger chairs. The living area is very spacious - a wonderful spot to relax and wash our clothes after adventures on the island. Tish was a very helpful and attentive host.

If you are looking for a simplistic, clean with magnificent view and shoreline 30 feet from your door, this is it.
We enjoyed our week stay.
Patrick T.
September 2021
You simply cannot be at the location, because waking up to sunrise over the Pacific was special every single morning of our stay. It is a pretty spartan bungalow, lacking few creature comforts, or lacking almost any for that matter. Blinds on some of the windows would be a nice cheap fix. The Wi-Fi was OK and there is a TV but it does not work and there is no radio or stereo, so if you're looking forward to a sporting event on TV as we were, you'll need to head into town or a hotel somewhere. There is no stove, only a one burner electric. So cooking on site really isn't going to work.
We knew going in what we were expecting. Overall, our experience was great and Tish is very accommodating and we would return. If you're looking for someplace to decompress, and unwind, this checks all the boxes. And the sun rises? Well, with the price of admission right there. Cheers and enjoy your stay!

July 2021
Right on the water, this apartment is the most perfect of all that we have stayed in along the windward/north shore for the last 20 years (1-3 times a year so we are expert visitors to this part of Hawaii), and all have been perfect! We have stayed in a total of 5 4 other places multiple times (each has gone off the market for various reasons) and this offers the most pleasure for the least effort.

Awesome view and incredible sunrise. Tish was most helpful. Quiet side of the island away from most tourists yet still close enough to get to popular destinations. Perfect vacation retreat.

This suite was exactly as described... "Stunning Oceanfront". Wow! When you come around the corner from the parking area to the deck, it hits you with the beauty. The interior of the suite is exactly as described and in the pictures. It is clean, spacious and we easily made ourselves at home. My husband and I cooked almost every meal in our suite and found a wide variety of fresh grown and delicious vegetables, fruits and treats at the Haleiwa Farmers market (running 9am to 1pm on Sundays in Haleiwa on the North Shore). Tish, the owner, bent over backwards to make our stay memorable. She emailed with me ahead of time to make sure we were going to have all the information we needed to make our trip special. Even though we arrived late, she came over to greet us and ensure that we had what we needed. Both Tish, and her husband Lance, are warm, inviting and friendly and very trustworthy to book with. It was a pleasure to spend time at their property. I would highly recommend staying here.
Best activities that we did:
-Morning beachwalk going south of property. Beautiful sandy beach, turtles in the waves. Snorkeled close to Pat's hotel and saw three turtles in a few minutes.
-Polynesian Cultural Center: Only a few minutes away.We booked online while there and got 10% off by filling in a survey and an extra 5 days added on to make a return visit and catch things we had missed.
-Haleiwa farmers market: Yumm!
- Found a review of islands best snorkel sites and we tried them all. Wow, they lived up to it.
1. Hanauma Bay: Always a winner.
2. Sharks Cove: Enter the deep area to the right at low tide. We checked tide tables daily online.
3. Kaena point state park. We did this one from the west road and it was amazing.
4. Kahe Point (Electric Beach) Of course it was good. We entered from the beach while paying snorkel tour people were being dropped off by boat. Go there on your own and save your money.
Saw turtles everywhere, eels, thousands of fish and different varieties at each place!
- Best surprise of the trip: Meeting next door neighbors Sami and Sheila. Sami from Tonga and is a traditional carver. His pendants are amazing and we brought home for ourselves and our four kids. Even better, THEY are amazing. Warm, friendly and he has incredible stories. Lovely people!!
Thanks Tish and Lance! We'll be back someday.

We loved our experience! The beach was two steps from the backyard! We could walk on the beach and view the mountains. It was quiet and easy to find. Lance's paintings are peaceful, reflecting the beauty of the islands. We loved sitting on the lounge chairs, enjoying the breeze and wading in the water. We had loads of room with a huge kitchen and family room. The Polynesian Culture Center was only 5 minutes away! We loved Haleiwa, Ted's Bakery, Shark's Cove and Turtle Beach.
Lance and Tish were very friendly and accomodating. We enjoyed being away from the big city. Every morning we woke up and enjoyed the beauty of the sunrise.

You never get a second chance to make a good first impression, so meeting Tish I immediately felt the "Aloha Spirit!" The studio is clean, view of the ocean is so soothing, lounge chair in front of this property was my location for reading and relaxing! If you want some time away from all the crowds and noise this is the place to be. I'll be back....Blessings, Susan

We just returned home from our stay at this awesome little beach house and we loved every minute of it! It was the perfect location to spend our 5th wedding anniversary. We are from Oahu and just wanted to find a place to get away for a few days--without the hustle and bustle of Waikiki--and we found it here. The North Shore has a very relaxed atmosphere and is perfect for just staying at the house and listening to the waves crash, or getting in your car and going exploring.
With amazing ocean views right from the living room and many accessible beaches nearby (including the nice wading/snorkeling beach out front) this place is a hidden gem.
The owners are the nicest people you can meet and truly have the Aloha Spirit of the Islands. They are very helpful and always nearby if you ever have questions or need suggestions.
While staying here, dont forget to check out Haleiwa Joe's restaurant, Fumi's Shrimp place, and Ted's Bakery for some goooood eats!
Thank you so much for EVERYTHING, Tish and Lance! We'll be back soon!

My wife, 8 yr old daughter and I were lucky enough to stay in this adorable property in summer 2008. The owners were lovely and full of local (useful!) knowledge, the sunrises were phenomenal and the property itself is ideal, very clean, in a quiet area but close to amenities. We really felt at home...though we don't see turtles swimming past our garden in the UK! We will be going back - hopefully 2010!!!

Excellent, excellent, excellent. We stayed in this lovely home for our 25 Anniversary and let me tell you it was a dream come true. The house was just like the pictures. The house has a front yard facing the Mountains and has a back yard as the Ocean ( What a beatuiful Picture ) how can anyone complain about that. I maen it was like a dream. Beautiful !! The owners were very helpful with directions and places to go, They are the Best !! . The house was very clean and well maintained. This house was a GOD sent to us. Here are some places to go when you get there. Dole Plantation, Swap meet, Ploynesian Culture Center, Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head, USS Missouri and many more things to see the Owners will let you know once you get there. Good places to eat is the Hukilau Cafe, Sunset beach at Ted's Bakery. I will recommend this home to all my freinds and Family. It is good to share a blessing with others and I just want to share this with everyone I know.
Thank you again for a wonderful Home and time in Hawaii.
I will never forget this -Ever... - Thanks Again..
P.S. - We will return again. - God Bless you.

We loved our stay at this Oceanfront Condo. We went in June for a week and the view is lovely, very clean and having our breakfast overlooking the water was a treat each day. The owner was wonderful and very helpful in making our stay a lovely vacation. My son forgot his suitcase when we were leaving and we had to ask the owner to re-open the condo for us so he could retrieve his suitcase for the trip home. She was absolutely wonderful waited for him to drive back and let him back in the condo.
The Washer and dryer were great since we didn't have to take as many clothes and it made for an easier flight to Hawaii.
The condo was also perfect for my son, (who slept on the futon in the living area) and the back bedroom where we slept, had a comfortable bed with a window air conditioner if you needed it. We didn't; the breezes were enough to keep us nice and cool at night.
If we went back again, we would plan on small meals. Our kitchen had a microwave, toaster and a hot plate. No oven or real stove. The kitchen itself had lovely cabinets, and a large fridge. We only cooked breakfast at the condo, so it was not too much of a problem.
My son tried to snorkel in front of the Condo, but the tide was a bit too quick that week. There are wonderful places to snorkel in the area and we really loved quiet peace and beauty of nature at the North Shore. There is also a nice hiking trail nearby that has lovely views of the whole area. So go and enjoy!

We were disappointed in this rental. As promised, the location is great for those who want a retreat away from the crowds of Honolulu/Waikiki, and for those with a rental car, it's a fine location for exploring the windward side of Oahu. We really enjoyed having the ocean right outside our back door, and in the mornings, you can walk the beach as if it's all yours. In the evenings, gentle waves break right up against the seawall at the property's edge, and cooled by the ever-present tradewinds, it's a very relaxing way to while away the evening. Tish is wonderful--very helpful and accommodating--but compared to the three other places we stayed during our two-week vacation on Kauai and Oahu, this cottage was the most expensive, yet by far the most bare bones with its plastic dinnerware, thin towels, sparse furnishings, and general lack of amenities and "spirit of aloha" we found elsewhere (ie: gift baskets with local goodies, fresh leis, wicker picnic baskets, fluffy towels, small artisan soaps, ceramic dinnerware, Kona coffee, a great array of beach gear etc.) This rental is clean and comfortable, nicely maintained, right on the ocean, and we felt very welcome here. That gives it three stars. But it either needs to cost less or provide additional amenities to live up to our expectations for this price range.
