Here are some LITTLE HINTS that maybe can help you to make the right decisions.
Waikiki has lots of opportunities for vacation rentals. Condo photos alone do not tell the whole story. Several other factors should be considered before you choose a condo for your vacation so that your experience will be satisfying. We are Waikiki experts, and offer these tips:
About the noise.
Waikiki is a very noisy city area. Most rooms are exposed to the sounds of the city, some more than others. Check the map for the condo location and proximity to streets and points of interest such as outdoor bars, restaurants, and music areas. Some buildings and hotels in Waikiki are right on the beach, but also adjacent to bars and entertainment areas that are active from morning until very late at night, with very little quiet time.
About air conditioning: What kind of AC does the room have? Central AC is much quieter than a window AC. Small studio condos often have a window AC located near the bed. If you don't have any problems with noise then don't worry!
Enjoy your vacation in Hawaii! Where you stay can influence how you feel about your visit, so choose carefully.
Waikiki has hundreds of buildings, some are better located than others. Choose a condo that is in a pleasant area, and within short walking distance to the areas of your interest. Use (website is hidden) Map to get an idea of the local environment. Choose a neighborhood that fits your expectations.
About room privacy: Vacation condos are usually studios or 1-bedroom units. Some one-bedroom units have a thin room divider rather than an actual door for the bedroom. If you prefer extra privacy you may want to check on this.
Refrigerator size. If you plan to stay more than two or three nights and also plan to cook in the condo, refrigerator size may make a difference. A Mini-size refrigerator may not be enough for your cold storage needs.
Security: Waikiki is generally a safe area, but understandably, security is important to most visitors. Some buildings are more secure than others depending on the size and available security staff.

Nice little place for my wife and I during our 6 nights in Waikiki. Had chairs, towels, and an umbrella for the beach. Great locations to beach, shopping, food, and even the zoo. Would definitely stay again.

We were surprisingly upgraded at the last minute, however, the picture shown with view was not even close to what we had. We had very little view not displayed in any of the advertisements. Much confusion with the floor numbers, repeated issues with the keypad, dirty floors, one little ice tray that leaked, key fob on a very old lanyard that was dropped at first use. There’s a large fee to replace lost fobs, luckily I found it right away. Most issues were reported to owner. One good was the location to shops and beach.

Needed a place to stay as the hotel prices were through the roof. This condo was on the 7th floor and had a decent view of the ocean and the street. The place was a little bit bigger than a hotel room. It has a workable kitchen with a microwave and a toaster oven, sink and refrigerator. In the same room, there is a loveseat and a tv with lots to watch. And the deck overlooks the pool with 2 chairs and a small round table that we spent having coffee in the morning or dinner.
Downside is that it’s in the city, there are noises like fire/police/buses going by, loud motorcycles and cars, or loud people on the street but I didn’t hear anyone in the building.
Everything you need is walkable or a short ride on the bus or Uber. The beach is literally 2, maybe 3 blocks away. For food, there is a place to get coffee and there are a few food trucks that are really good or other restaurants still within walking distance.
Bottom line, I would stay there again.

This condo is placed perfectly! Couple of blocks from the beach, minutes from tons of food options and the Blue Ocean that is right across the street is top shelf! Our host was outstanding, our original booking had an issue from the previous guest (damage) and they upgraded us and took care of us.
We will definitely book with them again next time we are on the island!

This location was close to the beach, and shopping. The fact we had a designated parking space was a plus. The unit came with everything we needed. The building was definitely old Waikiki, but a good value if your coming to Hawaii on a budget. Jenny gave great recommendations for things to do on the island. Don’t hesitate to give her a call.

We've stayed in this building numerous times and it has never disappointed us. A block and a half from the beach, it's a perfect getaway. This time around, we had the pleasure of staying in Jenny's Cottage and it was great - well appointed, nice view of the ocean, a comfortable bed and a great lanai to take in the sunset. The owners were also incredibly accommodating with a parking stall at $15/day (much better than anything else around), as well as a late checkout due to our evening flight time. Highly recommend!

Nice, clean, small condo with parking if you need it. Easy walk to beach, restaurants and shopping. Building was well secured and quiet except for downtown Honolulu noises you'd have no matter where you stay. Easy communication with host regarding booking confirmation, check in and check out procedures.

The property was in a good location and was clean. We had issues with the door lock not working properly. The owner was notified a few times about it and states that she plans to look into it. Parking situation is a bit misleading. The site says that parking will be free but we were charged, though at a much lower rate than most places I had looked into. Over all great experience.
