The refrigerator was broken when we arrived. The property manager took care of us and brought us a mini frig for our stay. The toaster over was rusted out and the kitchen utensils were lacking.

Kaha Lani Resort is in a great location right on a very walkable, long beach. Sunrises are awesome over the water. The staff was very nice and helpful. The grounds are very well kept, the pool is a good size with lots of lounge chairs, as well as some tables. There are two nice Weber grills that are very well maintained, we grilled dinner couple times while we were there. And we need to talk about the (insert curse word) chickens. Kauai is known for lots of chickens, this area is no different. I don't mind watching them run around during the day, fun to see the little ones, and don't mind the roosters crowing off and on, even at sunrise would be fine - as is in their job description. But there were chickens crowing at all hours - like as early as 3:00 AM. I don't know that the resort can do much about that, as they are all over the island, and I'm sure are at the other resorts. Just something to be aware of. This is a first floor unit, with a good view of the water, between two other buildings. The photos for the unit were accurate. Being on the ground floor and where the unit was located, people were walking across the lawn right past the back patio. Not a huge deal, the people were nice, but not a lot of privacy. There were people in the unit above us and when they were walking it was very obvious, I don't think they were necessarily walking heavy, just some thin floors. All could be solved by getting a top floor unit. The unit we had could have been better maintained - although it was cleaned well. There was a leaky faucet, rust on some of the switch cover screws, rusty light fixtures, many of the window blinds didn't work properly. I know the sea air can lead to that, but a few hundred $ would spruce it up nicely so you don't notice those obvious things and are then on the lookout for others. The unit had utensils, dinnerware, pots and pans, but no cooking oil, and just salt/pepper for spices. We've stayed in many other places like this that had some of the minimum things for cooking, obviously we don't expect food to be left, understanding there may be weeks when it isn't occupied. but items such as cooking oil or spray could be sealed. Again, something to be aware of when you do your shopping. Maybe check the unit first in case the last people left some - which we did :-) . We wouldn't hesitate to rent at Kaha Lani again, just not this unit.

Woke up to sunrises, stepped out to the beach and walked through gardens, what more could you want in Kauai? The apartment had everything we needed and was in a perfect location for exploring all of the island. Loved it!

This property was disappointing. Several of the rollup blinds were either very hard to use or as in bedroom also torn. The one in the kitchen missing so no privacy. Rug in livingroom was stained. Bookcases were not clean... sliding door difficult to use...one of the louvered windows in livingroom did not open. The furniture in livingroom not comfortable. Would not stay in this unit again. The location and view and grounds nice. Office and maintained people great.

The staff were very helpful at the property. The view from our condo was amazing. The breeze was never ending. Was very damp the last day with the rains coming but without that breeze, it would be too humid. Very comfortable. Will come back again.

The location on the ocean was what sold this property. We loved sitting on the patio and relaxing to the ocean. The pool/grilling area was a nice spot as well. The spot was a little far from some of the things we wanted to do, but ultimately was the best price/value that we could find for an ocean view property. We would recommend this spot for anyone who wants a relaxing place with a good view!

The property itself is small but situated perfectly facing the ocean so we got a lovely, gorgeous, heavenly ocean view with palm trees swaying that you see in travel ads for Hawaii. The whole week was so peaceful and refreshing just watching the view and hearing the waves and rooster crow from our living room. But, if you are a very private person, this particular unit may not suit you because it is situated on the way to the pool, so many people pass by your sliding glass door throughout the day. Not that every passerby look in, but you just feel like you're in a fishbowl. There's a very nice pool and BBQ grill by the poolside where you get to meet people. The unit is very comfortable and welcoming. Only thing that bothered me a little was that there is a group of homeless people camped next to this property. Some suspicious activity seemed to be going on there. Random cars stopped by there. So be sure to lock your windows and doors when you go out and at nights. The management seemed to be very alert about this situation and security seems to be their priority. Nevertheless, we very much enjoyed our stay in our unit and always love our visits to Kauai.
