The condo is centrally located to many places in the northern section of Kuaui. So many beaches to choose from and the unit provides chairs, an umbrella, cooler. The site itself is a bit like a fishbowl with neighbors visible in their units and the view from this unit is a bit obstructed with the layout of the building itself.

We loved the property! Location and view are perfect. Quiet and family friendly! We loved not having AC! Loved the sound of waves! We kept the windows up at night. It is a rainforest so it takes a bit longer for clothes to dry due to humidity. I loved the climate, it eliminated dry skin. (I am a country girl, so I had no problems.) We will, without a doubt, stay with this company again!

This was a great home base for my family. The listing description/pics were accurate. My kids were comfortable in the loft and on the window bed. We cooked almost every meal at home in the kitchen. The views were beautiful. We enjoyed the beach chairs and boogie boards!

We had a great getaway and always love staying in the sealodge rentals. This particular rental could use some TLC and upgrades but it wasn't enough to hinder our getaway. The main items is most of the screens need to be addressed as they have holes, which then meant we had bugs. Just some easy deep cleaning and a few minor fixes and this place would be right back at the top.

When we arrived we noticed that the binocolars were broken, the couch cushions were ripped.There were ants on the counter around the sink. When we went to the beach to use a beach chair and an umbrella they were broken and we couldn't use I notified the rental agency and they deducted $100. from the cost of the rental. Other than these items the stay was nice.

Sealodge J9 was homey and inviting. We were comfortable and relaxed. The pictures didn’t do the location justice, as it was far more comfortable and beautiful than pictured in the advertisement. There were some minor issues... but nothing that impeded our vacation. The staff was wonderful with their contact and making sure we were happy. Would stay/book with them again!

This place has an amazing view.
It was a great home base for all of our north shore adventures! We loved the Sealodge beach (bring hiking sandals!)
The only things we would have preferred would be more dishwasher packets (especially since checkout instructions request leaving with dishes clean)
Some of the furniture is torn and/or broken, but still works.
I also would have loved to know ahead of time that this is a very *quiet* neighborhood that doesn’t seem to be very populated by children.
I felt like we needed to try to shush our kids the whole time which puts a bit of a damper on a vacation.
Overall, a beautiful place that I would stay again with just those few things in mind!

This condo is right on the water and the ocean views from the living room, dining room and bedroom are spectacular!! We sat out on the lanai and saw whales almost every day! (and it seemed like they were RIGHT THERE!!) Falling asleep to the sound of the waves crashing into the shoreline...dreamy!! LOVED it here!

We loved our stay here! Beautiful views of the ocean from the living room, bedroom and loft. We even saw amazing sunrises through our little bathroom windows! We woke up to whale sightings and jet ski surfing right in front of our patio! What I loved even more than all the spectacular views was hearing the waves crashing 24 hours a day. Not a bad way to fall asleep or wake up! The size was perfect for our family of 4 and had everything we needed for cooking in and for heading to the beach (although 2 of the beach chairs were broken upon our arrival). The washer and dryer was so appreciated for our longer stay and our constant beach towel use! The place and furniture is a little outdated/worn, but I would definitely stay here again.

Thank you for providing some of the missing pieces to this condo like:
- mixing bowls
- placemats (very nice)
- extra cutlery (especially teaspoons)
- whisk (for whipping batter)
a working can opener 🙂
For the next guests, the condo still needs:
a pitcher for water etc
A small, non-metal spatula for flipping pancakes (currently it only has a large metal one which can damage the nonstick pans)
Trivets/potholders
A steamer insert to cook vegetables
Housekeeping provided 3 new large non-medal serving spoons. The condo already has one. Not sure it needs 3 more. I left them on the table so they can be used elsewhere.
For facilities:
The kitchen blind is stuck in the up position.
The living room lamp in the corner is missing a bulb
Tiny ants were present in the kitchen upon arrival when no food was around surrounding the frig door, along the bottom of the cabinet over the stove and along the sink. I used vinegar on a paper towel to wipe down where they were and on the counter. It helped and is a non-toxic option.
The internet went out regularly during our stay but especially during the second week. It required re-connecting with the password. Frustrating and annoying
On the plus side: The views!
The fans work beautifully!
The beach chairs are the best we’ve encountered
Loved that there are 2 bogy boards; while we brought our own snorkeling gear, there’s a plethora of gear for guests which they should advertise
Great new laundry machines!
All other appliances worked as expected

The location of the Sealodge condominiums is great for its views and not feeling too crowded. It is a convenient location whether opting to go to Hanalei or points north or into others areas of the island. There was plenty of room for my son and I at the condo. My concerns regarding our stay had to do with the overall condition of the unit and how the photos suggested it was in significantly better condition than it was actually in ( interior appears very dated, somewhat drab, furnishings very worn, outside weather-beaten and aged ) Due to this, it would be helpful for other renters to have a better feel for what they are getting so they can adjust expectations.

Internet was ridiculously difficult to set up and only partially worked-there were no overhead fans tha hairdryer you had to hold the button the whole time. Only TV was Roku-very limited-no foil or Kleenex which we had to buy. Soap was the size of a 50 cent piece...poorly equipped.

J9 was perfect for us! The property provided everything we needed to enjoy ourselves to the fullest! There were chairs, an umbrella, beach towels, a washer and dryer, and all the dishes and utensils we needed! When we needed additional items such as paper towels or dish soap, Mary Lou provided them immediately!

We loved this condo! The location and ability to watch the whales play every day was amazing! The window seat was our favorite along with the lanai. The pool amenities were basic and water was chilly in March. Ocean was much warmer! They allowed us to check out late due to our late flight. So appreciated and easy to talk with. So fun to hike down to Sealodge beach. Recommend a pair of shoes you don’t mind tossing at the end of your trip. The Kauai mud doesn’t come off easily. It also turns into ice when it rains so be careful. We love the Garden Isle and can’t wait to return! Mahalo!

I really enjoyed this property. Great view of the ocean. Loved falling asleep to the sounds of crashing waves! Master bed was a bit soft for my tastes so I slept on the cushioned nook overlooking the ocean and really loved it. There’s a nearby beach that you can hike to and I took advantage of that a couple of times. Thanks for renting your place and enhancing my Kauai experience!

The property is in a great location but other than that not impressed. We walked in to a funky odor every time we came in. Guessing it was from the carpet. Off white carpet in a tropical place? The toilet made a loud long noise every time it flushed. They need curtains on the large window in living room. And we had no trade winds making it unbearably hot for us. Do not recommend.

Stayed here with my grandmother and we had a lovely time. She was so content sitting on the Lanai watching the incredible waves break. The home is well kept with plenty of items to use for the beach, books, games, the kitchen is full, washer and dryer work great, strong internet, very quiet neighborhood with pleasant neighbors. Plenty of parking directly in front of the unit. Beautiful neighborhood for an evening walk/run with easy access to Princeville amenities. We would love to come back every year!!
