We stayed for 12 days in Kolea. The unit was clean, safe, quiet (off season). The communication with Grand Welcome was TERRIBLE. I would stay in the unit again, but dealing with Grand Welcome was anything but welcoming. A large corporation that does not know customer service. My only complaint on the unit was the lack of lighting over the dining room table. It was very dark to eat there in the evenings. The second bedroom could use more lighting too. I thought it was nicer than pictured. The location within the complex is good, can walk to pool/beach. The Kolea complex is withing walking distance to dining, shopping, but away from noise and paid parking in Kona. The Kolea complex is gorgeous!! Loved the trails around the area, and the sidewalks along Waikoloa Drive. Lanai was large with a grill to BBQ outside. Comfortable furniture and beds. Very nice unit. No one mentioned the elevators. We thought we'd have to hump up three flights of stairs. The elevator was a pleasant surprise. Also covered parking kept the car cool.

Beautiful, well appointed unit - this one does have two bedrooms and two bathrooms (detail not in its description). We would recommend it to others due to the close location to A-Bay and lovely infinity pool setting.

The overall Kolea property is beautiful and the location is primo! Wonderful outdoor kitchen on the balcony, and the quietness. No ice maker in the fridge but there is an ice machine on property at the pool. Customer service proved to be a detractor for this particular property, building 14, unit F when we reported the filthy stained master bedroom carpeting, dust build up on the vents and a toilet maintenance issue. None of these issues were addressed after we reported these items to customer service.

Clean condo in an excellent complex. We love this location. This condo is great for 2 to 4 people. Has everything you need except in the kitchen. It has the basic spices but no condiments or cooking oil/spray. Other than that an excellent spot.

This property was very nice and adequate for our needs for our 5-day stay. I think they should upgrade their amenities such as laundry detergent, toilet tissue (cheap) and Kleenex (none). They expect the renter to launder any towels beyond 1 set per person and they only supply 1 unusual baggie of 1 laundry pod. There were no directions or channel guide provided for the TVs. When I asked about this I did not get a proper response.

Although familiar with the general area, this was a first time staying in Waikiloa. We were thoroughly impressed with the quality of the Kolea project. We are already planning our next visit.

Condo was beautiful! The grill on the lanai was perfect for “home cooked” dinners. The Island Gourmet Market, in the Queen’s Shops, which is right on property, had prepared kabobs, local seafood and any other fresh food items needed for the meals we had in the condo. There were many other restaurants close by to choose from when we didn’t want to do the cooking ourselves. Lava, Lava Beach Club, which is a very short stroll down the beach, was a favorite for lunch, dinner or just cocktails. It was the best casual, island vibe we found during our entire stay. Many “on the water” activities are available daily right on the beach if that’s your thing. Condo is located 20 minutes or so north of the airport. The condo resort itself is a very laid back and quiet environment, but if nightlife, local touristy shops, Walmart or Target stores etc, are what you are looking for, Kona is about a half hour ride south down the Queen’s Highway. We had no issues during our stay, but the rental agency reached out a few times to be sure we had everything we needed. I would recommend staying here for sure!

Optimal location in Waikoloa Beach area and a very nice condo unit, easy to deal with management. We'd come back to this unit again next time we come to the Kona coast.

Really enjoyed our week at Kolea Resort in Waikoloa. The best part is that we were able to walk everywhere. Close to the pool, a beautiful sandy beach at A-Bay, long morning walks north or south along the beach to see whales, sea turtles and surfers. Shops and restaurants all within walking distance.
This unit was very clean and the kitchen very well equipped. Watching sunsets from our lanai was an added bonus. The owner was very responsive.
Already looking forward to next year.
