We stayed for 10 days. Condo was near everything, beach, pools, stores and Dukes. So convenient. Quiet lanai and private, beds were so comfy too. We enjoyed our stay and definitely will come back!

We enjoyed everything about the Honua Kai location and in particular this condo met all our needs for our 18 mth old, 4 and 5 year old. The pools are perfect and didn't feel too busy and yet the kids also loved going to the beach and playing in the waves. For a calmer beach experience we just drove to baby beach in Lahaina a few times and went for dinner on Front Street. We can't wait to return. The property management team (Maui resort rentals) was also so helpful for anything we needed. I do not have anything bad to say about our trip. Mahalo!

Place was perfect for our family. Spacious, clean and comfy. The lanai / nano door to allow you to open up your space at night was lovely. Only suggestion is for more plates / cooking supplies - bowls, platters and a larger cutting board for use at the bbq. It was impossible to get restaurant reservations, so we did a lot of cooking. The kitchen was a huge bonus, so no complaints. You can’t go wrong with this unit!

condo was nice and clean, comfortable beds, property is good for kids, several pools and slide. Only 1 restaurant option on property, which is Dukes, good food. Not a lot of activities at the resort, disconnect between checking in with lobby and if you book through VRBO. Would stay there again.

Beautiful place in a great location! The lanai is perfect for kids and offers privacy in comparison to most. The location of this room in the resort was perfect for us. Very easy beach access, amazing sunset views over the ocean and a 1 minute walk to the coffee shop! The rooms are well stocked in regards to kitchen needs and even has beach stuff (chairs, cooler, umbrella). The resort was very clean and well kept and staff was very friendly. I highly recommend staying here.

We had a great family vacation at this condo in Honua Kai. The condo was located perfectly on the side of the resort tower, away from the noise and busyness of the pool and main resort area. The first floor walk out to the beach path was perfect and we could watch the ocean while drinking our morning coffee on the lanai. The condo itself was super clean, well maintained and fully stocked with kitchen and bath supplies and even some beach items. Would 100% recommend this rental to others!

We had a fantastic stay in this unit. This was our second time staying a the Honua Kai resort, and our first time in this unit. The condo is clean and nicely finished. The kitchen has plenty of plates, pots, pans, and utensils which we always appreciate. The management company managed all of our service needs during our stay and they were very responsive and helpful. We highly recommend this unit and would be delighted to stay here again.

We stayed at the condo 3/24/2016-4/1/2016 and it was a great choice. My family which is myself, my husband, 2 boys (16 and 12) all stayed in the condo and I would definitely plan a spring break in Maui again and only stay at this condo, my husband and my boy's said that this is one of their top 5 vacations (they have traveled a lot) and I believe location is a huge factor. Extremely comfortable, everything we needed including space, kitchen supplies, washer and dryer, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. We spent many days waking up early and doing activities such as surfing, whale watching, sunrise at the volcano, road to Hana, even a segway tour (all which were amazing)and the condo was perfect to hang out at during those times when we were tired of running. Perfect place for my boys to relax, watch TV and play video games when they were tired while my husband and I read by the pool. Beautiful complex. I can't say enough good things about the home away from home. Perfect location. Check in was super easy with Monty, very clean and well maintained. Construction was not an issue. They were starting to build above the fence right in front of us and I did sit outside during the day a couple of times when I would have thought it would have been the loudest and it did not bother me at all. We do live in a very urban area though so we are completely used to noise and it seemed quiet compared to typical "city" noise, no issues with construction for us. The beach is the best part of Maui and the condo. Right in front of the complex it is somewhat rocky but just to the left it was perfect for playing in the waves and you can walk all the way down the beach on a path, which I did every morning before sun up, great running path. The path leads past Blackrock where Kaanapali, which we spent a couple of days at, tons of fun. Being on the first floor is an added bonus, would definitely stay again.

• Great accommodations: We were greeted by the property manager and given a tour of the two bedroom – two bathroom condo and amenities. The space was clean and well stocked with towels and other toiletries. The entire condo had a modern design with the use of high-end materials and the bathrooms boosted separate showers and large tubs. Bring the outside in with the wall to wall sliding glass doors, which opened to a patio and yard space, but still felt very private. And then the beach was just down the way, we checked in and went out. • On-Sight: Ocean beach nearby where I witnessed the birth of a whale. Onsite coffee shop with a variety of supplies. Pools onsite, but we avoided it as there seemed to be a high density of young children, besides the ocean was more inviting. We enjoyed a great dinner at Duke’s Beach House. And if you want to relax, check out the spa – my massage was perfect. • Nearby: Times Supermarket is a short walk from the resort. We came with a large group and many of the guest stayed at other resorts, I liked walking to meet up using the beach front path. If you are up for the journey you can walk to The Whaler’s Village (30 – 45 min). The kids did zip lines and my husband rented surf boards nearby for a reasonable price. • Improvements: Construction going on next door. This was completely disclosed to us so no surprise. During our stay the noise did not bother us, but it did create a lot of dust on the patio.

The condo was great. A beautiful room lots of space. The construction was more than I expected, they start at 7:00am but finish at 3:00pm. They also work on Saturdays, lots of dust you need to wash the deck furniture and deck everyday or you track in red dust. During the morning and day you cannot enjoy the lanai due to noise and dust. It was nice to have water toys, umbrellas and lawn chairs for your use in the condo. The wash and dryer is great as well except the dryer takes forever to dry. The beach and rest of the property is fantastic, good pools and Dukes is a great place to eat. Close to all amenities. I would definitely recommend this property even with the construction next door which should be complete in 2017.

This was our second stay in this amazing unit in Honua Kai. I should start by addressing the "hard hat" issue: The construction site is just next door -- the unit is facing it. However, it simply was not an issue for us -- with the doors / windows shut one can hardly hear any construction sound inside at all (which because of the A/C you'll likely have closed anyway). Even sitting on the lanai it's fine, though definitely noticeable -- till they stop work in the early evening (no work on weekends, either). It is not an exaggeration to say that after a day or two, we had almost forgotten that the construction was even there. Otherwise it's the same great place it's always been, very spacious, and pretty much anything you'd need on your stay is here (incl. kitchenware, bbq equipment and water play things). Convenient due to it's ground floor location (to get to the beach and pools etc.). The resort is also as wonderful as before, beautifully landscaped and with lots of things to do. The repairs at the main pool (it was closed for a while) is finished now and it has a great infinite edge. The location is almost perfect as well, very close to some of the main attractions and a large grocery store is just a few minutes away. We actually ended up using that store and the kitchen (and the poolside BBQs) a lot. It is quite something to grill and eat your steaks right by an Hawaiian beach! Needless to stay, we had a wonderful time there and will definitely be back for our next trip to paradise.

Gorgeous property and so close to the beach. The construction was only loud one day, other than that, very unobtrusive..things did get very dusty from the construction, but again very manageable. Being on the ground floor with a family was key to a great trip. The kids were able to look for lizards, frogs and even a resident cat and it gave them a lot of freedom. The property is beautifully maintained, great location to the pools, beach and resort market. The kids fed the koi fish every morning at 8:30 and the pond is very close to the condo. When you head to the beach turn left as the beach entry's are much more sandy than heading to the right. We made the mistake of going to the right on the beach on the 1st day and my young son badly cut his feet on the coral. Where you see the paddle boards being launched, is the best place for swimming with a sandy bottom and safe for kids. We would love to visit again - AMAZING property and wonderful trip.

This condo is an amazing location right near the beach. It's well kept and very inviting. We would definitely come back. Mimi was wonderful to work with during the whole process as well as Monty the on site manager. The resort layout is fabulous. Having a few pools to choose from, Dukes restaurant steps away and a beautiful walking path makes this place better than any others we've seen in the area.

This was our first time to use VRBO, and we felt welcomed and supported by Mimi immediately upon making on - line contact. Once in Maui, Monte greeted us and graciously offered us his assistance though none was needed as the spacious apartment was beautifully cared for, and had all the comforts of home and then some! The apartment is near the entrance on the ground floor and is literally steps away from the beach (breathtakingly beautiful - perfect for strolls, sand play, snorkeling, boogie and paddle boarding and/or total relaxation) Dukes Restaurant (may we recommend the Macadamia Nut pancakes as a special treat for breakfast), specialty foods market (with non dairy ice cream and gluten free items for our daughter with food sensitivities), BBQ area (we BBQ' d two nights and enjoyed live Hawaiian music in the background), several spectacular pools (one with a water slide, caves, and sprinklers for the children and young at heart. There is also an area for adults who want a splash free quiet zone), hot tubs, and bar (Pina Colodas with real coconut milk, and many smoothie choices for the non alcoholic drinker). To say that my husband, and our two young adult children enjoyed ourselves is an understatement. We can't wait to come back, hopefully in a few years with grandchildren as it really is the perfect place for people of all ages and interests. We ventured out in the mornings for snorkeling, caught a few waves with the boogie boards provided, went to a Luau, drove to Hana, swam in secluded pools with waterfalls, browsed in touristy shops, and became big fans of Hawaiian Shaved Ice. Our days ended with glorious sunsets and luxurious soaks in the hot tub. We highly recommend Honau Kai for anyone who wants to be immersed in the Aloha spirit.

If you want a truly amazing quiet resort, this is the place for you! Although there are families and couples staying here the beach is so much quieter than the one south of the Black Rock that are busy. We snorkelled in front of the hotel along the coral reef and it's amazing to see all the sea life and the odd sea turtle swimming in the water of only 5ft deep. Although the Infinity Pool is closed for renovation, you still have two other pools to choose from which was not an issue at all. The Westin construction in front of our patio was not disruptive at all, we hardly heard any noise and one late morning they were digging and they had water misting to minimize any dust. To be honest there was hardly any dust on the patio furniture no different than what we would normally see at home. The unit is beautifully laid out, there is an ample supply of beach chairs, umbrellas, beach mats, a large roller cooler and a couple of ice packs in the freezer. (We always had some bottles of frozen water, instead of the ice packs for use, which was more handy if we need more ice cold drinking water) We probably spent about 20% of our time at the unit, as we rather explore the island beaches and only had a quick dip in the pool either on the way out to cool off or on the way back from the many beaches in the south or north shores. We always had breakfast in, the kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans and plates. When we were on beach days we packed lunches and went back to the HKH to bbq twice....You don't really need to load up from Costco, since there is either Safeway, Times Super Market and a Walgreen's close by. Unlike like all the other resorts in the area, this property is Owners driven, versus Time Share or Hotel. It has a resort condo feeling vs. a traditional hotel. This was our 3rd trip to Maui and once you stay at the Honau Kai you will be back again... Upon arrival Monty met us and was the local contact. We look forward to a future stay in HKH112...Thanks Mimi for your many quick responses! Cheers, Bryan

Resort was amazing. Beach was beautiful, not crowded, waters were gentle and good for kids. Pool was clean and fun with waterfalls and slide. 1 pool was closed for repairs. Construction next door was not a bother at all. Very little activity going on with it. Check in and check out was seem less. Nice area overall. Apt was clean and had everything we needed.
