I heard about this place through friends that stayed here and it did not disappoint. We stayed for our honeymoon and enjoyed every minute. The location is perfect and allows for easy access to some amazing beaches. The views from the porch were absolutely stunning. The host, Karen, was so great at communicating. We will definitely stay here in the future!

We stayed here in 2020 and liked it so much we wanted to stay in the same place again! Love being able to walk right out on the grass and watch sunsets or whales or surfers or just read a book! There is everything you could need in the unit - great Tommy Bahama beach chairs/umbrella, beach towels (although there should be more than 3 regular bath towels/washclothes for a week's stay - and shampoo would be nice!), spices, appliances, etc. The bed wasn't as comfortable as I remember but slept OK anyway. Great TV. Great location to discover the island. Close to Puka dogs and the fabulous Thai food truck, too! No white pineapple to be found on the island this time, tho so that was disappointing but not the fault of Kuhio Shores. :) We'll be back again!

The location was awesome. Take ten steps off your lanai and you can watch both the sunrise and sunset. It was clean, everything necessary was provided and the bed was comfortable. Karen responded immediately when we asked about early check in. Only negative was the rattan couch and chair. They are not comfortable and for me with minor back issues it took some of the enjoyment out of our trip. But all in all, I would recommend this place. Thanks Karen

The location of this unit was perfect for watching the waves and turtles and getting to snorkeling and fun things to do. The Beach House next door is very convenient. The owner was wonderful to work with and replied very quickly to my questions. I would absolutely stay here again.

Beautiful oceanfront views and access to the well maintained grass area right out of the door. A couple people walked by to get to their condos via the grass area, but nothing that felt imposing. The condo is decorated so nicely and there's everything you would need to cook in the kitchen. Bed is very comfortable. We really appreciated the beach chairs, beach umbrella, nice beach towels and the coolers with the cooling pacs that were provided for guests. There was an occasional moldy smell in the condo, but it was fleeting, not something noticable all the time. May need to have the builidng inspector look into that. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This one bedroom condo is right on the beach. It is clean and quiet. The beach is not super swimmable, but has great surfing for locals (not beginners) and snorkeling. The location is very central and just a short walk or drive to any where you need to be in the south. The host was responsive and kind. We are already looking to stay here again.

The condo was clean and stocked with chairs, ice chests and we needed little to nothing.

We loved our stay at Kuhio Shores. The condo was comfortable, quiet, nicely decorated and stocked with everything we needed- including sharp knives (I don't think I've ever stayed someplace with good knives!) And, the view! Not only do you get to enjoy a full oceanfront view on the lanai, but also at the dining table, on the couch and in the kitchen. We watched the sunrise and sunset everyday and loved every minute.

The property is exactly as described. The condo was clean and well maintained. The A/C was a great perk to cool down at bedtime. On our first two days there we were able to enjoy a surfing competition from out lanai! If you look closely during high tide you can see sea turtles swimming by. The location is secluded yet within short distances to Poipu Beach and Spouting Horn. There are many local shops and restaurants within a short drive. Communication with the owner was very helpful when needed.
I would strongly recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing location on Kauai.

We loved the views of the ocean, the sunsets, the snorkeling nearby, and found everything we needed in the village of Koloa. We spent most of our time on the lanai when we weren't out exploring the island, and ate in for most of our dinners so we could enjoy the sunset. Ideal for a couple.

We both agree that this is the very best location in Kauai! From our condo’s patio, we could move our beach chairs out a few feet and we had the BEST views of sunrise and sunset! (Big perk of staying on ground floor.). Great snorkel beach next door along with a wonderful restaurant where we saw 4 large wedding parties and the photo shoot of the Bride and Groom just out front. Could not have been a better location. The condo itself was very nice with a great kitchen and comfortable king bed. We didn’t use the air conditioner much because of cool breeze but it was nice to have on humid days.

Thank you so much this condo was perfect! Being able to walk out our lanai to watch the turtles, whales, & surfers along with he perfect sunrises & sunsets just amazing! The king bed was comfortable, the fully equipped kitchen made making yourself at home very easy! Walking just steps to Lawai beach for a morning & evening snorkel was so convenient! We made reservations at the Beach House a week ahead of time & glad we did just a few steps & we enjoyed a wonderful dinner. Thank you for providing the big beach towels, chairs & umbrella that was nice to have! We even used the laundry facility’s once! Our first trip but not our last!

This condo has it all. Ground floor patio that opens up to ocean -20 feet away! So fun to watch surfers, turtles, sea lions, breath taking sunsets & stars. Perfect location on the island: beach to snorkel around corner, restaurants & shopping all close, quick access to all excursions, best weather (rainier up north), & less traffic.
Condo has all the comfort & amenities you need. Beautiful place to slow down & enjoy life. Can’t wait to come back!

We love staying at Kuhio Shores. The location is fantastic and can’t be beat. We loved waking up to the ocean view and viewing the amazing sunset every night. The condo was super clean and had everything we needed. We used the AC at night and really appreciated it. The updated kitchen is gorgeous and functional.

We loved our stay in this oceanfront, ground-level unit! Opening up the sliders, hearing the surf, and watching the sunrises and sunsets were the best part of our stay here. We loved the location of this building and unit--it was right on the water and close to shops, restaurants, and beaches. This unit is spacious for a one bedroom, one bath. The kitchen is well equipped with nice appliances, plenty of dishes, and a few starter supplies. The building was right next door to The Beach House restaurant and we were lucky enough to see whales in the cove as well as a stunning sunset one night. Beach chairs, boogie boards, a beach umbrella, and a small cooler were very much appreciated and helpful to have on hand. Parking was plentiful and water taps in the lot made it easy to clean off muddy and sandy shoes. Shared laundry is available (just be sure to have lots of quarters).
The only cons: The bathroom is small and a bit tight. This may be a personal preference, but we found the sofa cushions and mattress to be very soft and lacking in support.
All in all, this is a very well-located unit and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Karen's Condo was such a special place to stay and enjoy during my time in Poipu. Everything was clean and as presented. Opening it up in the morning to hear the ocean waves (and see who was already out surfing) was such a lovely way to begin the day. It is well located, parking was always available, and I would love to be back there now!!

The view from the porch was everything! Everything you could possibly need for your stay is inside this place. Every morning you got to see the sunrise and the sunset from a gorgeous view were waves crashed against the rocks. It's also centrally located in the best part of the island.

We have never before stayed on the ground floor while on vacation, because watching the waves come in is a priority for this land-locked family, and we always want to make sure the views are good. After carefully viewing your video, we decided to take a chance, and we have never been more pleased! We loved being so close to the surf, and the view from the condo and the lanai was stunning! We loved just walking out the lanai and being only a very short walk from great snorkeling.
Thank you for to providing every little thing travelers from the mainland could want in your condo. We appreciated it so much!
Words just will not do justice. All I can say is that if someone is considering a trip to Kauai, your condo is on the top of our recommendation list!

We spent 7 nights at Kuhio Shores #117. The owner, Karen was very helpful and 100% responsive for any questions.
This property is close to every attractions of west, south & east so you don't need to long drive to Poipu, Spouting horn, Waimea, Port Ellen and etc.
Also, if you surf, this is the best spot to rent because PKs & Center surf spot is right in front of the property. Reef in front of property allow us to see tons of fish and turtles very easily. You will see turtles on the 1st day for sure.
It was amazing trip for our family and definitely, we will plan to come back here.

Would have liked a few more ideas on favorite places and activities on the island, but Karen was great to work with. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in paradise!

Great location for surfing, snorkeling, and enjoying the waves. We watched surfers every morning and evening right outside the patio door. Good snorkeling at Lawai Beach a 1 minute walk west - more good snorkeling 2 miles east at Poipu State Park. Swimming and beach play is so-so - very little sand at Lawai Beach. Incredible sunset view from common area behind patio (and from the restaurant bar next door).
Condo is perfect for 2 adults. A bit small for 2 adults plus 1 or 2 small children. Everything was clean and in good condition. Kitchen was well-stocked with cookware, plates, cups, etc - excellent if you want to cook some/all of your meals. Cell signal is only usable in bedroom - better in parking lot. WIFI was good.
We'd definitely rent it again and/or recommend to others.
