My wife and I recently stayed at this property at Honua Kai and we could not have been more happy with our choice. We looked at hundreds of properties and were very nervous. From the time we arrived until the time we left, it was truly exceptional. We had a few minor issues come up but the owner was in constant communication with us and had all issues addressed so quickly. Even though these were very minor, they were treated with the upmost priority.
The unit itself could not have been any better. As soon as we entered the unit we knew we had made a great choice. The staff at the facility was great, informative, and made us feel welcome. The property was immaculate. The location was incredible and walking distance (we love to walk) to so many places and little "gems" like the food trucks, coffee shops, farmers market, and great beaches. What was funny is that the beach at the property ended up being one of our favorites. Snokeling was incredible as well.
We ould recommend this property to anyone and can't thank our host enough!

We were very happy with our unit and the amenities on the property. Dukes restaurant provides poolside service. The condo is beautifully maintained and included what you need for a day at the beach. The resort is steps from the beach and the boardwalk. Underground parking is good but fills up quickly later in the day, but there is lots of outdoor parking available. . The host was very quick to respond and ensured we had a wonderful stay. It was a great experience and we would definitely stay there again.

We had a fantastic trip to the Honua Kai Resort and Spa. Highly recommend it for families with young kids. The kids pool and waterslide was definitely a highlight. The pools are all so awesome, lots of hot tubs and beautiful grounds right on the beach.
The condo we were at was great! The view was amazing, could watch the sunset from our balcony, watched lots of whales surface in the morning. It had quick access to the pools and parkade. It was very clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed.

Our family of 4 (2 adults, 13, 10 year old children) had a great stay here. The property was as advertised on VRBO and Shirley was timely in helping us check in. It was our first stay at the Honua Kai and while they have staff to help you check in, it's definitely more condo feel than a full service hotel. Not a complaint but just something to temper expectations.
We had a few minor issues come up and Shirley was great to work with maintenance to get it resolved quickly (the electronic door lock had problems). We opted for a mid-stay cleaning with her service and they did a great job resetting the unit to check-in ready. I recommend asking for extra shower towels before your stay begins especially if you have girls using the shower. There are 4 to start but the extras are nice and Shirley accommodated promptly.
The pools are great and clean. Duke's is great for the view. Our favorite restaurants were Miso Phat sushi, Lineage, Star Noodle or Cafe O'Lei at the Mill House.
I only gave a 4 star for cleanliness as the unit had most likely sat quite a while between check-out cleaning and our stay (there was a bit of dust built up as well as several flyers under the door that were dated back 8 weeks). Not an issue whatsoever but I like to give honest feedback.

Highly recommend this unit. It had great views from the lanai. The unit had lots of storage space. Fully equipped kitchen. The bathroom had a bathtub, with a separate shower, double sinks. The bed was very comfortable. I am stickler for good pillows and sheets, it definitely delivered. There is a grocery store you can walk to. Beautiful beach.

We very much enjoyed our stay, the apartment was spacious, in a great location and had everything we needed for our short holiday. The resort has some lovely grounds, great facilities, lots of swimming pools, parking, a supermarket a walk away, and some fun places to eat only a few minutes walk. My family of four thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Honua Kai. The condo was lovely, clean, had a pretty ocean view with large balcony and included kitchen, beach and sleeping appointments that made our stay comfortable and easy. The host was extremely responsive, accommodating and professional. Check-in and check-out couldn’t have been easier with the host providing detailed instructions and the processes being simple. The grounds of the resort were beautiful with pools, spa, gym, market, Duke’s restaurant and an easy and quick walk to the beach. The staff of the resort were also very accommodating and friendly. My family and I look forward to booking with this host at Honua Kai again!

We had a wonderful and very comfortable week at Honua Kai - everything was exactly as advertised. The property was gorgeous and well located, the amenities were very useful, the condo was spacious and enjoyable. We spent as much time at the beaches within walking distance as at the pool! It was a great base from which to explore Maui.
Shirley was also very accommodating with last-minute changes to our itinerary, and was very responsive with questions and concerns. I’d not hesitate to stay here again, knowing how easy she made our trip.

Myself, my husband, and our two young children had a fabulous time in Kaanapali. The resort was lovely. The condo was great for a family of four. Our kids slept in the main room on a pull out, while my husband and I were in the bedroom. The accordion doors/windows to the beautiful lanai, made the place feel bigger. We enjoyed our peekaboo view of the ocean and even spotted some whales from the lanai.
The pools at the resort were fantastic for our family and the beach was beautiful and not terribly busy.
We are already planning our return.

I have stayed at Honua Kai many times before, so this room is both familiar and consistent with every room on the property. Absolutely fantastic ocean views from the balcony, we saw whales every singe day of our stay. A few pros/cons during my stay:
Pro:
* The host is outstanding, and immediately responded to every question or issue I had within minutes. (Thank you!)
* Location is excellent on the island. The beach is great for swimming and snorkeling, pools are large, clean and fun. Close to Whaler's village, shopping and dining, hard to beat the location.
* Ocean view from the balcony is wonderful!
Cons:
* Insufficient level of toiletries. I stayed for 9 nights, and ran out of just about everything (toilet paper, tissues, shampoo, conditioner, dishwasher pods etc). This is not the hosts fault, and she did her best to contact the service team to re-supply. They came through on more toilet paper and tissues, but it took several days, and the other supplies they never restocked, so we had to leave a dishwasher and sink full of dishes.
* Washer and Dryer are not in good working order. You have to close the doors in a certain way for the cycle to start; the cycle does not stop on its own. After over an hour, the towels were still wet. These are clearly in need of service or replacement.
* Wristbands did not have the correct access and only opened the room door and towel dispenser (not the entry gate or parking garage). The host was quick to fix this within a day, however.
Overall, we had a great stay here, aside from the few inconveniences, not enough to get upset about, and I would be happy to stay here again. Thanks!

The condo was just a rate for what we needed. it was clean and had everything for us to relax and enjoy the area. The location was nice because there are lots of really pretty beaches within a short drive or a long walk. There was also a beach right in front of property. It was very easy to check in and check out so much less stressful than a resort hotel, but with all the amenities of a resort. Great view from Lanai. Good AC if u prefer. The Host was easy to work with.

Great, roomy, well appointed 1 bedroom condo with a view of the ocean. Excellent collection of pools. Dukes onsite is the quintessential beach restaurant. Boardwalk offers perfect stroll to Whalers Village.
