We had a wonderful stay in the Villages at Mauna Lani. This is a gated property located within the greater Mauna Lani Resort. We utilized many of the amenities of the resort and enjoyed the closeness of the property to many other attractions along the west side of the island. The beach club was awesome, and we also did the Black Sand Beach within the community as well (Note - you have to pay $20 for parking, but it was well worth it!).
The home itself was very well maintained and stocked with everything from salt/pepper, condiments, bedding & towels, beach supplies, etc. We had my parents in the upstairs master, my wife and I in the downstairs master, and our kids (3.5 and 1.5 years old) in the other bedroom downstairs. It was the perfect set-up for us. We spent many mornings and evenings on the outside porch/lanai. The neighborhood pool and fitness center were an easy 8-minute walk from the house. The community is very nice and kept in impeccable condition.
We would definitely stay again. Thanks to Lex and Cheri for being uber-responsive and helpful during our visit!

The house is large and open. Each of the bedrooms has its own bathroom and plenty of space. Worked well for three non-related adults on our trip. As well it was finished nicely and there were lots of cooking supplies and spices. The place is hard to find without proper directions. The driveway is a tight fit for two cars but workable. Although the pool is close to the beach is a bit of a drive away.

This place is AMAZING! We really enjoyed the house. It was so comfortable for our family of 4. The boys had each their own room and we had ours upstairs. Never heard a peep from my boys downstairs. The private beach is beautiful. The location is amazing! I utalized the bike a couple of times to check out the area. It was great. I would definitly stay at this spot again. Thank you so much for opening your home to us.

Everything was as represented. The only issue was that the previous tenants smoked in the house and we never really got rid of the smell. It detracted from our stay. Cheri was quick to suggest leaving doors and windows open. After 3 or 4 days it got better.

What a lovely townhome! It was absolutely beautiful, from the minute we stepped into the door, we knew it was perfect. The floorplan was great...we loved the huge kitchen and oversized bar. The great room was huge, allowing us to spread out, the bedrooms with en-suite baths gave everyone the privacy required.
We like to cook and the kitchen was well appointed....plenty of cook ware, of all types! A large array of spices helped to get things going! Huge side by side refrigerator, with an ice maker.
The lanai was a great place to gather in the morning for coffee, birds chirping, palm trees swaying, ahhhhhh. We utilized the outside kitchen and dining table, great place to dine al fresco!
To our delight, the garage contained more beach supplies and toys than we expected! So everyone had something to play with, or sit on....
The townhome was immaculate, clean, fresh, ready to be enjoyed.
Thank you again "Hawaiian Retreat", you helped make our trip to the Big Island exceptional.
