The staff were excellent, amazing customer service. They will try to get you to attend a 2 hour session to sell you a timeshare, but they reward pretty well should you do so. I did not attend as I have never been to Hawaii and did not want to waste a single minute. The room was beautiful, well decorated and enough space for me and my wife. The view was of the canal, pretty great, but you need to call a month in advance to request. The price was a little more than the expensive than the run down hotels in Hawaii, so I highly recommend this as an alternative. The only negative I could see is that they have sensors on the sliding glass doors so when you open them the AC turns off, with the Hawaiin weather it would have been nice to be able to run the AC with the door open as I found myself enjoying the view, sweating in my room. Manageable, but still a little uncomfortable at times, maybe they could install fans or bring your own to get the air moving. The timeshare owner was also fantastic, no issues with communication at all, everything stated and promised was produced. The area is safe, has great amenities such as barbecues, free wifi, a pool, a sauna, entertainment area, and great staff, did I mention how helpful they were.
The hotel is close to public transportation, a 7 minute walk to Eggs and Things, 10 minutes to the ocean.
Food can be expensive nearby, but you are a tourist, bring cash or go get food and grill at the hotel. The ABC Store sells just about everything you could need, I highly recommend going here for large bottles of cheap water and alcohol purchases for your room. The night life in the area is pretty lame, bars are hotel bars along the shoreline & snotty to those who come up for a drink after going to the beach and I have had better Mai Thais in CA.
As a note to 1st timers, go to Rainbows, get some Malasadas at Leonards and stay away from Hanama Bay during the summer months. HB is overrun by tourists like myself and you have to watch a 20-30 minute presentation. Sharks Cove was better for snorkeling and had more to see, less tourists. If you like shrimp go to the North Shore (get there before 6pm), the Dole Pineapple Plantation is worth seeing and eat lots of Masubi (cheap at the ABC Store) and Loco Moco. Be kind to the locals, those working at various areas are helpful and have a great story to tell, most of those living there despise tourists, so be kind and respectful, you're not at home, be safe!

We had a wonderful stay! The room was beautiful - better than we anticipated - with plenty of space and a comfy king bed. The resort itself was lovely and within walking distance of Waikiki beach and the main strip. Free laundry was also a great bonus! The staff was helpful and friendly, they even sent up a box of chocolates since we told them it was our honeymoon when we checked in! The only negative is that they really push to sell you a timeshare - so much so that we would try to avoid the concierge desk at all costs. Matt was a pleasure to communicate with and our trip went as smoothly as we could have imagined. Overall, we had a wonderful time and found it to be the perfect space to relax in when we got home from our adventures around Waikiki! We would definitely consider staying again!

Since 1978 I have been travelling to Hawaii regularly and always stayed in hotels. The decision to book an apartment via HomeAway was the best I could have made. Our accommodation at the WYNDHAM was great: the staff were very friendly and the apartment large and beautifully appointed. But perhaps a note may be in order:
It would make sense to put some sort of cushion/felt stickers at the bottom of the chairs in the dining area. They are heavy and moving them creates considerable noise, as we had to experience from the apartment above us.
Absolut zufrieden !

Great room, very clean, with a view, walking distance from main strip of Waikiki. Hotel staff are very friendly, basic kitchen is good for breakfasts if you want to save money.
only down point is the property is Wyndham resorts, they push so hard it's a joke trying to get you to go to their sign up breakfast, they make it sound good, but when you decline they push even harder!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Royal Garden Waikiki. Everything from beginning to end went smoothly and we enjoyed our room (and the property) very much. We'd definitely stay here again!

The entire staff was friendly and welcoming as soon as we arrived. We were able to check in early to a corner room with a view of both the canal and the ocean. We appreciated the various free water stations in the resort to refill our large bottles throughout our stay, and we made use of the billiards and shuffleboard in the nice game room! Also used the free laundry since we had been in Hawaii for a week. The room itself was a great size for 2 people, very clean, comfortable bed, nice bath products, and well-equipped kitchen. The property was just a few minutes walk from Fort Derussy park (my favorite park in the world, next to the Hale Koa hotel) which also means it's a few minutes walk from the beach! My only complaint is that when we checked in, we found out we had an extra day booked (for free) because of how Matt had to book the property since it's a timeshare. I wish we had known in advance that we were given an extra day so we could have changed our flights before it was too late and the cost to change the flight was too expensive.
Overall, great experience, hotel was nicer than we were expecting, and I would be more than happy to stay here again on my next trip.

This property was great! Amenities and staff were perfect. Loved the style and layout of the room. A bit of road noise was the only down point. Would stay here again!
