Clean, well kept condo with good security and immaculate landscaping that provides all the basics for a good stay including a good bed.
Bathroom needs updating and sliding patio door needs fixing because very hard to slide

This unit was below standard for my usual 10 day stay at turtle bay. The unit I wanted and reserved developed a leak before I arrived so management moved me to this unit without asking my approval. I felt it was a much older unit that had not been updated in years, inferior furnishings and horrible bathroom. The owner provided the bare minimum of items. I’ve usually enjoyed my rentals here but this stay was below my standards and I was charged the same amount. Very disappointed.

The security person who "helped" us our first night did not seem to understand what he was doing - we had three people in our car checking in together past 9pm at night, he told us only one person could check in at a time, and when the intercom kept hanging up we had to re-tell him who we were and what we wanted, and he told us the intercom was on a timer and we had to "talk faster". The fact that there was only one air conditioning unit in the rental made it difficult to get ready in the morning b/c it was hot in the bathroom. Overall, however, the location was good and convenient to where I had to be each day and if I were there on vacation it would have been fine, although I still would prefer to have air conditioning in rooms other than just the bedroom.

We love to come to Hawaii. We like to get away from Honolulu and Waikiki and to where it is more peaceful and quiet. The unit was clean and well stocked with the essentials we needed (utensils, cleaning supplies, salt & pepper, cooking spray, clothes hangers in the closet, etc.) If you have not been to a tropical climate, be aware there are always bugs, ants, and other crawling things. We saw some, but were not bothered by them because we put everything away. All food opened or not went into the fridge, freezer, microwave so the crawlies could not get to them we emptied the trash quickly and frequently. We did not leave out dirty dishes, or any food. Except for once on the counter while we watched the sunset. The dirty dishes got a few tiny crawlies on them. We made not of our mistake and didn't do it again. I would stay here again. It was wonderful to have a screened in porch, where we could sit without being eaten by mosquitos.

The condo was nice. Convenient parking, pool right across the street. Air conditioning in the living room would have been nice. Very disappointed about finding baby roaches (20+) crawling on the countertops, bathroom, bedroom, throughout the cabinets.

We really liked our stay here for 7 days. Management was friendly and the overall experience was really good, nice condo with good structure. The property description was accurate regarding the location, layout and amenities. Place was clean in general except by some of the plates and glasses that were dirty and we had to clean before using. We also had a problem with ants, we had to throw away some food because they completely dominated some of our brand new food, and we had to keep everything in the fridge. But we did not enjoy less because of it, I recommend and I ́ll be happy to return.

We have been visiting Turtle Bay twice a year over last thirty years. At least last 22 years, staying at condo at the Estate at Turtle bay. We always enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. During last few years, the check-in procedure and policy have changed. One of the changes is early check-in. I understand that check in time is 3:00 PM and there is early check-in charge of $75. Most hotels also have a fee for early check in, however they will hold the guest's luggage or if the room is ready, they will let the guests check in even a couple hours prior to their check-in time with no charge. This time our schedule changed and we arrived before noon by taxi. We went to our unit. The house keeper was there to clean the unit. We asked the lady if we can put our food inside the refrigerator. She was very helpful and let us store our food. She even made room for our luggage instead of leaving our luggage outside the unit. She told us to come back in about 2 hours, so we gave her a tip for her help and went to the golf course restaurant to have lunch. We returned to 191 around 2:30 when she was ready to leave. Later the manager told us that since we checked in earlier than 3 PM they will charge us $75. My friend couldn't believe what she heard, so explained the situation to her and asked to wave $75 just for 30 minutes. SHE SAID "No This is our policy. If they check in earlier than 3PM they will be charged $75" We were very disappointed with her heartless reply. Later we found out that room telephone wasn't working and nobody could call our unit. The kitchen faucet also broken. We stayed the same unit in last September for 10 days. We had the same problem with the phone and had to wait three days for a technician to fix. Over last 20 years, we have experienced similar problems, however no one ever apologized nor offered any compensation for our inconveniences. This is how they treat a guest who has been loyal for over 20 years?

We spent the last week of our 4 week vacation at Kuilima West to enjoy the North Shore and see old friends. It would be very helpful to renters if information were provided for garbage and recycling days, if specific information was provided on how to operate the living room television. It was very frustrating to us. The owners should write up a simple sheet on how it operates. It took more than 3 days for someone to come and give us instruction. We really appreciated Mike's help! It would be helpful if the rental office would tell renters that the key code box is on the door. Old ones are on the outside wall and it is confusing. Our condo was very clean; however the lanai was not swept or vaccumed and there was a lot of sand on it.

It’s not the Ritz but for what’s available on the North Shore, it is adequate for the price. Good location near the pool, Lei Lei’s, and Turtle Bay Area. Adequately equipped and reasonably quiet.
