Enjoy watching the Black Rock Cliff divers each evening from the lanai, and visit the numerous restaurants and shops along the illuminated Kaanapali Beach Walk. All units feature full kitchens, full baths, central air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and a large private lanai (balcony). There are also complimentary washer and dryers on every floor, for your convenience. This unit has a comfy King size bed, but no pull-out sofa bed. Perfect condo for two people max.
In addition, each condo is equipped with a complimentary "Starter Kit" of supplies:
Paper towels, garbage bags, dish detergent, dishwasher detergent, new kitchen sponge with scrubber; several rolls of toilet tissue, kleenex, hotel-size bar soap, shampoo, and lotion. **Please note that the starter kit items are not replenished. Very nice and clean. Beautiful view of Black Rock! Pool area and grounds very comfortable and relaxing.
Sunset view from the balcony, very comfy bed and enough room for two people in the whole condo. Washing machine and dryer are on every floor of the building and it is for free. The beach is right in front of the door and you will find chairs down there or in the condo. We left our snorkeling gear in the condo which can be used now as well. Parking possibilities are in the garage right underneath the complex and reachable by elevator or outside as well if the garage is full. There are a few restaurants around the Whaler and the shopping village is right around the corner which is super nice, the cheap bus which can take you to Lahaina in 10 min stops also right there. We would stay there again, it was a pleasure and we had such a beautiful time... thank you.
I cant say enough good things! For the price compared to close by resorts, it is a steal. Pool, towels, chairs, concierge, and more - all included!! The location could not be better. Walking distance to all the Kanaapali restaurants, shops, etc. We grabbed coffee each morning from Whalers Village, right next door! The apartment itself has fantastic views - sunrise over the mountains and sunset over the ocean. A view of beach and Black Rock right out front. Being on the 11th floor, it was extremely quiet and peaceful. The balcony was great and we ate breakfast there each morning. Speaking of, the kitchen was so nice to have!! If you're staying longer than a few days, having the kitchen is crucial! The bathroom was nice, the shower was a little used/worn but nothing that bothered us at all. The decor is very older Hawaiian but that made it all the more special. The photographs look exactly like the place, so you see what you get! We would stay here again absolutely. If were ever in Maui again, well be back! Thank you for the perfect Honeymoon stay.

The Whaler is always great. It’s a perfect location on a beautiful beach with plenty of parking and a great oceanfront pool for any windy days where the sand is kicking up too much at the beach. This condo is also great. It has everything we needed. Huge fridge, microwave, stove, toaster, dishwasher, large closet with plenty of hangers and a clean bathroom. We’ll definitely try to book this one again in the future.

The location was hard to beat, and the views were amazing. The "great room" with bed, couch, dining table, etc. was wonderful. We loved staying there, but would not recommend it to anyone else. The kitchen and bath badly need updating.
While we are certain the bathroom was clean, it looked grungy. It needs updating. The non-slip treads on the floor of the tub were yellow. There was rust around the tub/shower drain. The caulk on the outside of the shower door was practically orange on the right side of the tub. And this is kind of goofy, but the shampoo, conditioner, and soap dispenser on the wall of the shower had orange shampoo. It left an orange streak down the side of the tub. Come on, ditch the orange! And the low toilet was just nuts. To wipe yourself, you had to lift one cheek or your hand hit the water. Nobody uses low toilets like that any more. They are not that expensive to replace.
As for the kitchen, the pots & pans and the dishes looked new. Wonderful. But the kitchen was definitely dated. The cabinets were laminate. Where you pull the cabinets open, the laminate was badly worn & scratched. Just a quick wipe with an indelible marker would have made a big difference. And the coffee pot needs replacing. The warming area under the pot is badly corroded and rusted. Spend $30.00 on a new pot!
Again, fairly minor changes would make a big difference. And a kitchen and bath remodel would be the best idea. It will make the owners money in the long run.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Whaler. The room was just as advertised. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Amazing view from the patio of BlackRock and further down to the end of Kaanapali beach. The sand beach was great for swimming and playing in the waves. Whalers Village right next door has everything you need.

Stunning views of the beach! Unit is comfortable, but a bit dated. Unit could have been cleaner (sticky floors), but overall well maintained. Was a bit surprised there wasn’t a “welcome basket”, even some water would have been nice.

We had a great week! The only downside was the broken coffee maker... but the lobby downstairs offered coffee each morning, and the village was close. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Maui!
We have stayed in wailea on a previous trip, but definitely recommend Ka’anapali Beach over Wailea!!!

We can't thank the Whaler enough for making our 25th anniversary trip such an amazing one. Unit 1118 looks over the incredible Kaanapali Beach and Black Rock. The unit itself is exactly how it appears in the pictures, and although at first we thought the decor was a bit dated, when we got there we quickly felt that it was inviting and friendly and had that 'homey' charm - like we had been invited to stay in someone's home versus a hotel room. The unit was super clean and the bed was one of the most comfortable ones I have ever slept on! Loved the fact that the owner has CDs with Hawaiian music and books and magazines around to read. The staff at the Whaler were awesome and the concierge helped get us an amazing table at a restaurant down on Front St. for our anniversary. The grounds are lovely and the coy pond is a must see (the frogs in the pond actually sing at night - very cool). Although we didn't use them, there were many BBQs that guests could use anytime to cook up a meal - and they were kept spotless every day! The beach was amazing and being so close to the Whalers Village shopping was a plus! I'd highly recommend staying in unit 1118 - we loved it and I'm sure you will too! Aloha!

The unit was perfect for my husband and me. It was clean, comfortable and had all the necessary kitchen equipment to meet our needs. Enjoyed our morning coffee on the lanai watching the whales and an evening glass of wine listening to the surf. The Aston Whaler is the perfect location in beautiful Kaanapali. Will definitely return.
