Stayed a week with my husband, 19 and 25 year old kids. We were contacted the day we were to arrive and advised that there was a problem with the unit we booked as the previous guest had smoked in it. We were given the adjacent unit and provided the listing to confirm that it was equivalent to what we had booked. I was really pleased that the property manager was so proactive, and we were really happy with the unit. The Maui Kamaole complex is in a great location, we could easily walk to the Kam III and II beaches. Lots of restaurants and shopping in close proximity. Travel to West Maui took 30 minutes and Wailea is less than 10 minutes away. We stayed in L202 - the unit overlooks the very lovely pool grounds from the bedrooms and has a lanai with an ocean view from the living room. The complex is quite quiet, which we enjoyed. I was impressed by the amenities provided in the condo. We did a fair bit of cooking, and it was great to have good quality pots and sharp knives, as well as a rice cooker! Beds were quite comfortable. Boogie boards, beach chairs and snorkel sets were provided and were in excellent condition. We used the bbq in the pool area, it was very convenient and appeared to be brand new. I would recommend this unit and this complex to anyone.

Overall, great experience.
Few things to highlight: a beautiful swimming pool right outside. You can even see the pool from one of the balconies which makes it handy with older kids.
The other bonus is that it's a walking distance from the small harbor where many snorkeling tours start. Really handy as you don't need to worry about taking your car or finding a parking spot.

Clean and well maintained unit. Close to the upper pool. A bit of a walk to the beach. The unit itself was equipped as stated. Cabinets, flooring and bathrooms are functional but dated. The people at Rentals Maui were great to deal with. Check in and check out was seamless.

Starting with the positive - the location of the condo is spectacular with an expansive view of the west Maui mountains, ocean, and eastward. The tropical pool is right out your front door but the sound of pool goers are always muffled by the sound of the bubbling waterfall. The condo was clean and photos described the layout. The not so positive - this condo seems like “just a rental”, devoid of any coziness. There is a broken rocker, odd array of pots and cutlery, no nicety’s like plastic wrap, cooking oil, seasoning, etc. Basic but with a great view.We have stayed in over twenty units at Maui Kamaole over the years, the property remains stunning and very well situated. Pool rules are increasingly stringent so if you have children looking for pool fun this isn’t the property for you.

Our unit was very clean and ready for us on arrival. This unit is on the second floor which means a flight of stairs to access it but you are rewarded with a great view of the ocean. It’s also just steps away from the upper pool which is very tropical and lots of space for sun or shade. Kamaole 3 is right across the street which was fantastic. Our only two suggestions is having a bit more of the “basics” in the kitchen for arrival. Just a salt and pepper shaker and a few sugar substitutes were all that was in the cupboard. Cooking spray or oil, some sugar and maybe a few coffee packets would have been great. The other would be to replace the dated furniture on the lanai.

We had a two bedroom, two bath unit in Building L. The unit was sufficiently stocked for the one week stay, very clean, conveniently located and fairly quiet (except the pool equipment which ran all night.)

In regards to the condo at Kihei it seems to be outdated and needs some refreshing for air conditioning, beds are too soft and small master bed, beach gear getting old and needs replacement.

We recently stayed at Maui Kamaole on our family vacation. The property was spacious and clean. There was a great view of the ocean. The air conditioning units were much appreciated. The pool area was very clean. We also used the BBQ in the pool area. We would definitely stay here again.

What a great condo! First family trip in the books. Came with our three sons (7-12 yrs) and had a blast. The place was clean and the carpet felt very new and soft. The pullout sofa bed was great and it was the perfect location near to the pool. The boogie boards and beach chairs in the lanai closet were the icing on the cake. So nice that we didn’t have to rent those things. We would definitely stay here again. Oh and very quick response time from management. A++

Great location, great pool area and grounds.
As stated in many of the other reviews, the unit itself could certainly use a refresh. The carpets in particular gave us the constant feel of being in a less than clean place, especially with small children playing and crawling around on the floor.
We would have appreciated a pack and play provided for baby sleep, but the rental company refused to provide one and the cost of renting one is high. If they were to buy one they could have it available for families for years to come.
If you’re wanting privacy for the guests staying upstairs, the wall of the upstairs area is not closed and therefore sound will carry upstairs.
Overall the unit is acceptable for Maui and the location is great!

Loved the location of this unit with a gorgeous view from the main deck and conveniently ery close to a beautiful pool. The landscaping was outstanding. The unit served us very well and was nicely stocked with plenty of towels, beach chairs etc. My only suggestion would be to do a better job of cleaning the bathrooms.

Kihei condo Maui Kamaole L203 is in a good location. Instructions on how to find and enter the condo worked smoothly. The unit is somewhat dated but was clean and suited our needs. The cost of travel to Maui has risen significantly over the past few years; we stayed at the same complex in 2018 over Christmas for half the cost. It felt like price gouging. If we'd not been joining another family who had already chosen this complex, we'd have tried to find someplace else. The outdoor equipment was useful but inadequate for our needs. We ended up purchasing a large beach umbrella and 2 additional beach chairs from Costco, which we left for the next guests to use. The pool was located very close to our room which was nice to use at the end of a day on the beach. Please note to any guests with mobility challenges, this is not a good unit for them. There is a long set of stairs up to the unit plus stairs inside the unit to get to the upper bedroom. Was ok for us but not great if you have little kids or elderly travellers. We'd have appreciated a more private upstairs sleeping area - the closet-style shutters do not block light or sound. View from the unit was wonderful.

This was a great location. Had everything you needed for coking and bowing. The condo itself is very outdated and needs the carpet replaced.You definitely need a car rental toStay here but you can walk to the beach (15mins) all the stores are minimum 20mins walking. So a car would be handy. The pool is really nice and not normally busy. A few locals live in the same complex and were very nice and welcoming.

It is always our favorite spot each year. This was our largest family group since coming well before we had our 4 grandchildren ages, 10, 8, 4 and 1. We rent three condo's, one for each family. The two bedrooms are rooming enough for each family of four. Our one bedroom is also large enough to host our Thanksgiving dinner together. The rooms are getting older and it shows in the floors and bathrooms in a few of the condo's. This particular condo wasn't cleaned before our check in time and showed up 45 minutes after we arrived. It is a 6 person condo but we were only suppled with 4 bath towels for the 9 days we were there.

The unit had plenty of room for our family, and was clean and pleasant to live in. A really nice plus was the availability of boogie boards, beach chairs, and a cooler! The location of the unit is perfect. Maui Kamaole is south of the main hustle and bustle of Kihei, and the unit is located towards the back of the property away from the main road. It is super close to a really great swimming pool, and the bubbling sounds from the waterfall feature at that pool was great ambient noise when we had our windows open. This is a great place to enjoy a Maui vacation!

The one good thing is the location, very near upper pool. The bad:Carpet very stained and needs to be replaced. Cheap lanai furniture that is falling apart. Only one very used beach chair, we had to buy three. Broken beach umbrella. Only 2 beach towels. No kitchen supplies at all, even the salt and pepper were unusable. I have rented several other units in this complex and this one was by far the most disappointing

The location and view was fabulous! It was clean except the high spots. My husband cleaned on top of the frig, microwave and wall divider. The last night there were drunk loud guys in the pool all night. Security did nothing. They came around looked and left.
