Arguably one of the best units in the Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Complex, this fully renovated 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom ground floor condominium unit features a wrap-around lanai, fantastic ocean views, and a multitude of amenities. Located directly off of Kailua-Kona’s main thoroughfare, Ali’i Drive, this complex is close to beaches and golf clubs, offering countless activities and ensuring a fun-filled and memorable vacation.

The recently remodeled kitchen features beautiful quartz countertops, providing ample prep space for meals and serving as a breakfast bar that can seat four guests. New appliances have been installed throughout, and the distinctive bamboo cabinets not only hold everything you need to cook during your stay, but also add a unique and timeless beauty to the space. The openness of the living area allows you to breeze past the indoor dining room and into the living room, where high-end furnishings are positioned around a large flat screen TV. Two full walls of massive sliding glass doors allow the sunlight to pour in and provide access to the covered wrap-around lanai, where you’ll find additional dining and seating options, all making the most of the sightlines to the crystal blue water laying just beyond the well-maintained lawn. Spend your afternoons reading in the outdoor lounge chairs, as you steal glances of the ocean between chapters.

From the lanai, you can enter the spacious primary suite through a separate set of glass sliders. The bamboo bed frame on the King-size bed, the enchanting dresser and night tables, and all of the natural light give the room a tropical feel. The attached ensuite is nicely updated and includes a shower and a convenient full-size washer and dryer. The guest bedroom’s bamboo four poster Queen-size bed is perfectly complemented by the garden views visible just outside the room’s large window. The full-size guest bathroom has been fully renovated, with a shower/tub combo and includes beautiful tile work throughout.

The gated complex of Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet is not only private, but ideally located directly on the ocean. This unit in particular takes full advantage of the panoramic views of the sparkling Pacific and puts you so close to the water that if you leave your windows open at night, the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks will lull you to sleep. The complex also offers guests many amenities, including a pool, three tennis courts, outdoor volleyball court, and numerous BBQ areas.

While the activities within the complex will certainly keep you busy, there’s a lot to do outside the complex as well. Get in some golf time at the Kona Country Club, adjacent to the complex. Walk to nearby Kahalu’u Beach Park, where snorkeling is easily accessible and you can spot sea turtles and a variety of colorful fish. If catching fish is more of your preferred activity, book a fishing charter where you can catch and release billfish, or fish for a variety of species that you can take back to your unit and cook for dinner. Visit the farmers market at Keauhou Shopping Center for local produce to go with your fish, or KTA Super Stores for other groceries you might need to make yourself feel at home during your stay.

***Please note that this property is not equipped with air conditioning. It does however feature excellent ventilation with ceiling fans throughout.***

Lovely spot for the viewing of sunsets and whales. Pickleball was fun and the local players were so friendly and welcoming. The crashing waves right in front of the lanai were very fun to watch. The kitchen was great to work in and the view while cooking was great! We had a wonderful time just relaxing on the lanai.

Our visit was exceptional and provided the tranquility and "Hawaii Reset" that we needed. Positioned south of Kona, this unit was home base for us as we explored the natural beauty of the island. Located on the 1st floor, we had the ability to walk out to the picnic table at sunrise for morning coffee, catch the sunset in the evening, and enjoy a peaceful night since the complex has quiet time starting at 9pm. The secluded beach adjacent to the complex was the perfect quiet and remote spot for the two of us. The unit has chairs, umbrellas, and everything needed for a day at the beach. The views from the three big sliders and being a corner unit were incredible. Big ceiling fans kept us cool and the fresh air flowing in. We will 100% recommend this condo and are grateful for our time there.

Sweeping ocean views throughout this ground floor unit. Great ocean breezes and crosswinds. Beautiful, spacious condo with lovely tropical manicured grounds. The complex was welcoming and the condo was very well appointed with beach gear, kitchen items, and there was a nice pool for the kids with a ping pong table and tennis courts. The most significant feature of the condo was it's oceanfront location with the extraordinary beauty of the direct ocean views from almost every room. We would be happy to return.

Our family of four (4 and 5 year old kiddos) had a wonderful stay in this well appointed ground floor condo. With small kids it has been a priority for us to have a ground floor unit and this corner condo is one of the best we've stayed in! The wrap around lanai with comfy outdoor furniture and bistro lights was where we lived all week. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. While there is no air conditioning, we loved just having the sliders open and feeling the nice tropicl breeze. We didn't need air conditioning at all and in fact, preferred not having it in this unit. The back bedroom closet had everything you need to make beach outing fantastic - Tommy Bahama beach chairs, coolers, pool toys, beach mats and snorkel gear. These items make huge difference to have on-hand for Hawaii beach days, especially with kids. The pool was great for our new swimmers and it was the perfect temperature. We will definitely be back!

Excellent view, but you pay for it. Not well cleaned and that was disappointing. Facilities (pool for example) are older, but serviceable. Kitchen is newer but the rest of the place needs updating. For example, the sliding glass doors are probably original to the unit and do not work well. Check in is late (4pm) but they did let us in 2 hours early, which was very nice. Check out is early (10am), and they wouldn't/couldn’t change it even by an hour. That was not good given our late departure, but we should have checked that earlier. It is not well-stocked, so be prepared for that. The store is close. No AC.

It's kind of a good news/less good news story for us. Good: * Great location - restaurants, shopping mall, Kona town, all very close. * Easy access in/out of the unit. * Nice complex with lovely pool and interesting ancient Hawaiian ruins. * Gorgeous ground-level unit with direct access to a nice lanai, grass and scenic rock outcropping * Well-appointed condo, kitchen gear, fans, cable TV, washer/dryer, beach gear (chairs, snorkel gear, beach mats, boogie boards, coolers, etc.) * The second bathroom is very nice (seems to be a newer remodel and very well done). Since you asked, things that could be better at this price point (none of the below are "fatal flaws" but would go a long way in bumping this up to a 5-star rating IMO): * The cleaning crew leaves a lot to be desired: the back bedroom smelled like a pet (dog, seemingly). There were small, white hairs in that room and in the living room on the sofas and some throw pillows (Kinda gross, but we managed). * Tile floors didn't feel clean. We are a "shoes-off-in-the-house" family, but the floors felt gummy and dirty, so we broke with tradition and wore our shoes inside. * The lanai and furniture are great (we had many good sunsets there), but the outside furniture cushions are stained and look like a few too many suntan-lotioned bodies have been using them. They need a good steam clean or replacement. * The lanai also needed a good sweep and mop. When we moved one of the chairs, it was obvious that it had not been swept behind for a long time (I moved all the furniture and cleaned it myself). * Finally, the master shower is an older, low-end plastic unit shower with a corroded metal ring around the pipe. Again, for a luxury rental, this needs to be upgraded to the standard of the second bathroom. Hope to return next year as/when some basic improvements are made.

Such a great place to stay! The location is perfect for beach views and the condo is perfect for a family of 4 with younger kids who can sleep together. We loved the kitchen, living space and patio (view is the best). The main bathroom is nice and has the best shower. There was lots of outside accessories including beach towels, sand toys, snorkeling, beach chairs, umbrellas, tennis, and three different sized coolers. The condo had plenty of towels, bedding and fans (no AC and it does get humid when you lock up on the house when leaving). Suggestion for improvement would be to have some space In the closets for clothes like dresses (had plenty of hangers), but so much stuff in closests I felt like my dresses could get dirty. There weren’t good hangers for drying beach towels (need higher and spaced out more). I did find that the master shower wasn’t clean (shower door bottom) and shower head not as nice as the main. Not a big deal, we used the main for showering. Lastly, the dressers are hard to open and not all drawers available because used for storage. The condo has a pool, tennis and volleyball, grills and parking. There is a tide pool beach area that is really cool. We loved the patio the most- the view is priceless and we got to see a whale showing off. The kitchen has lots of accessories for entertaining too. Overall a great place to stay and would come back!
