We cannot say enough good things about this property. It was above our expectations and everything was perfect. The place made us feel at home with all the comforts and then some. We felt special staying there, and felt lucky to be able call it home for a few days.
Not only is the condo perfect, the grounds and the common areas are just as nice. The pool area was amazing, with the rocks and water falls. Also having access to the fitness centre was an unexpected perk. We had access to the Pickle Ball and tennis courts and made the most of it one evening.
The exclusive beach club was also unexpected. A beautiful beach on a calm bay with snorkeling and swimming in the warm water. The restaurant there was delicious and the drinks were incredible (get the Pina Colada with the dark rum pour over! But you may not be able to get out of your beach chair after!!)
If you are thinking about renting this place, do not hesitate, it made for a truly spectacular vacation to the Big Island and we hope to be back again one day!

What a joy it was to return to Hale Malino this year. Honestly, I don’t know how it could be better than my first experience, but the hosts have been busy adding more and more thoughtful touches and upgrades. The tv is even bigger, and the fitness center membership was really easy to use and fun. Everything was spotless, well-organized, and we lacked for nothing. The kitchen is so well stocked, and I appreciated the spices and fresh, well curated condiments. It saved money, made it fun to cook, and reduced food waste. The hosts are welcoming, kind, and very responsive, and their communication is top notch. Mahalo!

Our stay was perfect! Greg and Jeff’s condo was beautifully furnished and well kept. They were very responsive to any questions we had and always very friendly and informative. The Palm Villas was quiet and beautiful. There were times we had the pool all to ourselves. On our first night there a neighbour brought us some fresh fruit from the trees growing on the property. Having access to the beach club and the fitness centre was an added bonus. We loved every moment and would not hesitate to rebook!

We loved the location and all the amenities. The walk to the beach through the fish ponds was a daily must. My husband rode his bike most days and I utilized the gym. The owners were easy to work with. Very clean place and a comfortable bed.

The property and location are PERFECT!!! We LOVED having access to the fitness center and played LOTS of pickle ball. Some furnishings could be upgraded due to lots of wear, as well as one of the single mattresses. However, honestly, it was all still great!!! The cleaning crew could get in the corners/along floor trim a bit better but again, it did not take away from a GREAT, GREAT, GREAT day. Gregg was GREAT to communicate with!!!

The condo was perfect, very clean, exceptionally well stocked kitchen and a lovely lanai where we enjoyed our morning coffee. It’s located a walking distance to a wonderful private beach. Gregory is a perfect host and we very much appreciated all the info he provided about local eateries and places to visit. Only one complaint, wish we could have stayed longer………

This property was exceptionally clean and comfortable, everything in great condition. The condo association has some stiff rules ( no drying pool towels outside on the lanai), but the residence was very quiet and friendly.

Gregory has created a superb condo and vacation experience at the Palm Villas. Everything exceeded our expectations. Beds and linens were comfortable, kitchen was more than well stocked, if you end up watching TV even though you should be enjoying Hawaii like we did--the World Cup was happening!--the little living room space has a giant new TV and cozy coach and chair. ALL supplies are stocked with backups ready and waiting should you run out. The internet was fast enough for both my husband and I to work, including video meetings. It has a secluded lanai and great BBQ, and to top it all off, a well stocked bar! A lot of love and thought went into this rental and you can tell. Gregory has also put together a helpful guidebook that's informative and hilarious. I will admit I took pictures of it so I could refer back to it after we left. The placement of his unit within the Plam Villas complex, we thought, was the best, surrounded by quiet gardens vs a window into your neighbors place. The Palm Villas itself is a cute, smaller, well-maintained complex, across the street from the Mauna Lani fitness club, for which Gregory provides free guest passes. They have a 25 meter pool, workout facility and tennis and pickleball courts.
Need I say more? We will for sure be returning! Thank you!

This was my second time to stay here. It is such a calm peaceful setting. Condo has everything one could ever need, owner very responsive, access to quiet beach and fitness center. Only downside is the small pool but hot tub is great after a dip in the pool's cold water. I would go back again.

Highly recommend this lovely condo!!!! First off, great location. I have family near Hilo, and also love Kona, but the beaches nearest to the Waikoloa area are the best on the island. Loved this super tidy and quiet property tucked into the middle of world class golf, lava fields, beaches. The landscape crew needs kudos for keeping this place looking like a tropical garden but also somehow being very quiet. The pool is gorgeous, shallow and black so it's warm, with a waterfall, and the hot tub is actually hot. This property is just steps from the pool though the view from the patio is just lush landscaping. Condo itself - loved that the bedrooms are on separate sides for privacy, loved the layout of dining, living room, big kitchen island - very comfy for a small family. And I did love that it had access to the private beach club - not necessarily the best of all the beaches in the area but super nice with cabannas and beach chairs included, very safe for small swimmers, and fun paddleboarding. As for how this compares to another rental - these owners truly go above and beyond with detailed communication about the property/ things to do/check in and out process. The condo is STOCKED with everything one needs to prepare any meal, all the spices, courtesy ziplocks and tupperwear (so useful), fridge has just the right condiments all current and clean. There is a little bar! Take some, leave some. Baths are stocked with a lovely grade of shampoo, soaps, scrubs. All the cleaning supplies one needs. Absolutely everything a family needs in the garage for beach time (boogie boards, chairs, toys, coolers, etc). I will stay again in a heartbeat both for physical location on the island, charm of this sweet property, and the extrordinary care the owners take.

We had an excellent Hawaii vacation at Palm Villas. The location was perfect for our family reunion. (Our children and grandkids stayed at a larger unit across the street) Our condo and the grounds were exactly as depicted. The pool is beautiful and close by. The condo was wonderfully decorated, spotlessly clean, and well equipped. Our hosts, Greg and Jeff, were attentive and welcoming thru the whole process.

You can stop surfing now and just book this unit in the Palm Villas. The location, the hosts, and the attention to detail make this unit a perfect spot.
This spotlessly clean modern first-floor unit is a 20 minute walk from a gorgeous beach or a quick drive. The lush landscaping makes it feel like you are the only ones in the area, even though the pool and fitness center are steps away. The decor is modern, and all of the furniture is comfortable. And there are books! From helpful travel guides to multiple field guides (everything from trees to fish) in which you can learn more about the island and what you see.
Like to cook? The lanai has a fan, light, and modern gas grill. The kitchen is stocked with all manner of cookware and barware, and the fridge and pantry have a thoughtfully curated selection of basics, condiments, and spices. Nothing expired here. It's one of the best stocked VRBOs I've stayed in (soy sauce, kewpie mayo, plenty of Ziplocs, a tea ball, and more and more and more)
The hosts genuinely care about the guests' experience and are very communicative and organized. It felt like staying in the home of a friend, and I cannot wait to go back.

The other reviewers were correct: this place is great! Palm Villas is pristine, and the condo has all the amenities! It was especially nice not to have to bring our own snorkel gear, boogie boards, tatami mats, chairs, etc. It's all there! Loved relaxing in the pool at the end of the day too. Very grateful to the owners for their timely replies to all questions.

Airy and comfortable condo outfitted with everything you need. Full kitchen, pool and beach access, garage space, in addition to beach items, bathroom and kitchen basics. I was in town for a conference at the Fairmont and this was a 20-25min walk or several minute drive away. Less than 30 minute drive to Waimea for great food in the evenings, and we had awesome recommendations from Greg and Jeff, who are friendly and responsive hosts!!
