Situated on a hidden, private, soft, sandy beach in a lushly landscaped tropical setting, Hale Mahina is an ideal spot to catch those magical Maui sunsets, spot whales in season, and simply enjoy the idyllic Maui coast.

Dine al fresco on your ground floor, private lanai just steps from the ocean, sipping a Mai Tai and watching the palm trees sway. This unit is easily accessible to all, making it super convenient for unloading groceries and beach gear.

Step inside to find a beautiful one bedroom, one bathroom condo that has been tastefully updated with Hawaiian inspired décor and furnishings. The main living area features an open concept floor plan, a sofa bed for additional guests and a flat screen TV for your entertainment. This unit does not have air conditioning, but you can stay cool with the magical Maui breeze or enjoy ceiling fans throughout. The convenient and well stocked kitchen has everything you need to make all your meals in house and features full size, stainless steel appliances.

The bedroom features a comfortable Queen size bed with bamboo sliding doors for privacy. It's the perfect spot to kick back and relax after a long day in the sun. The bathroom is just steps away and boasts a shower/tub combo and a separate changing area. There is a washer and dryer in the unit for your convenience.

Hale Mahina has amazing beach access and it is the perfect environment for swimming, snorkeling, sunbathing, sunsets, and spotting sea turtles!!! In the winter months, experience the amazing views of mother whales breaching with their newborn calves directly from the resort.

Hale Mahina Resort enforces a strict maximum occupancy policy. Please note all guests over the age of 2 years old is counted as a guest. This resort offers complimentary parking and does not charge a resort fee.

Numerous issues, as in Door knob, locking mechanism was very sticky, and very difficult to lock the door one of the laps on off switch did not work so to turn light out would have to unplug it Silverware and eights were sticky and needed to be re-cleaned before use. Cabinets had the odor of mold, the floors were not very clean, and made the bottom of our feet black. Teapot was rusty, and so was one of the knives We just say that the price of the unit would suggest a five star product, however, none of these issues by themselves was a detriment to our trip, we just more of the condition of a three star resort. And might add, we have stayed in many units at the Hale Mahina and this unit seems to be the darkest of them all, kinda like you’re in a cave. Please note, we did not contact the property manager until after the visit, so our five star review of them is only there because this form for us to put an answer in that line. I have had previous contact with the property management company, and they do communicate and respond to issues.

Rented a groundfloor unit and the pool and beach were incredible. Sea turtles routinely swimming by and most evenings had the pleasure of turtles resting on the sand for the evening. Even saw a pod of dolphins spinning out in the ocean. My only complaint would be the lack of AC. We asked for additional fans which the property management company brought promptly. However, some nights were very unpleasant. This may be a ground floor specific issue as the unit has a lot greenery which blocks any airflow into the unit. Despite this issue still giving it a 4 stars for the price and fantastic beach.

I booked this location months in advance after looking around for the perfect stay, and this was it! After much anticipation, I was not disappointed. I'm so glad I chose this place and if I ever go back to Maui (fingers crossed) I will be staying here! Everything about this place was exactly what I wanted. If you are looking to walk right out of your sliding doors on the ground floor just feet from the pool, hot tub, beautifully landscaped grass with flowers blooming all around and a private beach where you see Turtles swimming by and coming up on the beach to soak up the sun everyday, look no further. If you're looking for a busy resort with tons of people, this is not it. I miss it already! Aloha

The location of the apartment was nice it is by the beach our apartment was on the ground level which was easy access to the pole and the beach unfortunately it was very unconvenient because of the noise it is located by elevator and there is a heavy traffic another thing was the neighborhood house apparently has dogs and they were barking sometimes all night which was making really hard to have a restful and peaceful night sometimes it was even hard to go to sleep at all we shared that information with the management but I don't know if there's anything they can do about the neighbors dogs as it was on the other property right next to the one we stayed at.

Everything we could have asked for. Relaxing trip, proximity to many amenities and you cannot ask to be closer to a private beach teaming with turtles and fish. The people there helped make the trip so enjoyable.

This place is beautiful!! So clean, quiet and private. The check in and check out process was super easy. We loved the easy access to the beach and how turtles would visit the beach right out front everyday to swim and soak up some sun right on the beach. The pool was great and the hot tub felt so nice after a long day. I would love to stay here again some day. By far one of my favorite places I have stayed here on Maui!

The best equipped kitchen in any place I’ve stayed. The tub is very slippery, the second time I used it I used a towel. It should have a hand rail and shower wand. The smoke detector was missing from the bedroom. I would prefer a locking screen door.

Overall the condo needs a big update. The decor is outdated along with the bathroom, kitchen, flooring and furniture. The refrigerator needs to be replaced since it was not cooling the food. Management sent a little refrigerator for us to use during our stay and a repairman for the main refrigerator. The repairman said that the refrigerator was on its last days since the freezer wasn’t working well either and that it would just need to be replaced with a new one. The dryer was not would not dry clothes properly (it would take forever to dry a few items). One of the dining room table chairs legs was bent as well and we couldn’t use that chair. Apparently there is also a mouse issue with this condo. The first thing we noticed when we arrived was 3 mouse bait traps in the kitchen and dining room area. The screen door mesh needs to be replaced because we noticed that it was loose in one corner where mice could get in. The tile around the condo and decor needs a serious update as well. We were disappointed in the quality of the condo for the price. This condo is in a great location, but it is in need of SERIOUS updates-- kitchen, bathroom, decor, futrinter and appliances.

Our family of four had a relaxing time. Being on the ground floor made it easy to come and go from the beach and pool area. The property grounds are well maintained. Every morning the pool area is cleaned off of sand. The BBQ’s are cleared of charcoal ash and the grills cleaned. Some owners/renters had a recurring happy hour and invited us to join them. Many offered up their boogie boards and paddle boards for our use. The beach is small, but adequate to enter the water for snorkeling, swimming and other water activities. Turtles came up on the beach most evenings to rest. The unit had four beach chairs and a cooler. We borrowed boogie boards from a neighbor and rented a beach umbrella from Boss Frogs just down the street. The property management company was excellent. They reached out to us a couple of times to make sure we had everything we needed and brought us a blanket for the sofa sleeper when requested. The property was as advertised, but if I had a wishlist for the next time, I would like a coffee grinder available. Also, the stovetop did not accurately maintain the desired temperature either because it wasn’t working correctly or the lettering on some of the dials had worn off and was difficult to know what setting it was on. We made do and it didn’t distract us overall from an enjoyable stay.
