Hali'i Kai Resort is a private, gated resort community that has unbeatable amenities. The oceanfront amenity center includes a multi-tiered lagoon style salt water pool with waterfall and jacuzzi, a fully equipped fitness center that overlooks the ocean, grills and dining area for your use, and the Ocean Club. The private Ocean Club is a poolside restaurant and bar where you can enjoy a happy hour, a gourmet meal, or sip on a Mai Tai while you watch the whales in season. Tennis courts and basketball court are located a short walk away.
The Waikoloa Beach Resort contains two world-class golf courses, two exceptional shopping centers (Queen's Shops and King's Shops) with luxury movie cinema and nightly entertainment most evenings, a selection of superb dining choices, and Anaeho'omalu Beach, the gorgeous white-sand beach with Lava Lava Beach Club. All this just a short walk from your tropical resort villa in Hali'i Kai.
The Hali'i Kai Resort requires a resort fee of $25/night per unit that will need to be paid at check in. The fee allows guests access to the Ocean Club, amenities, and parking pass. The Halii Kai front office is open every day from 10am – 6pm.

This property is special. It is at the end of the development right on the ocean. There is an unobstructed ocean view from the lanai and the primary suite - just grass and lava then the ocean. To the left is vegetation and quiet. Other condo to the right and below, but the only tell of others is if the below folks were out, which was infrequent. Two minute walk to pool. It is an ideal, private location. The rooms were spacious, and the condo well appointed with all we needed. Called management twice for mundane questions and the designated person picked right up. I had a bad experience with a booking immediately prior which VRBO was amazing and fixed and booked this one last minute. I was so glad I stumbled upon it! I will book again. Highly recommend.

The location and property are great. The view is amazing. The condo was well supplied. We enjoyed the daily and multiple whale sitings. The condo is decorated very well. The cleanliness is less than great. The carpet needs cleaning. The lanai furniture looks good but is not comfortable as the cushions are worn out.

I booked this unit mostly because of the abundance of 5 star reviews, but I cannot give it any more than 3. The location of this unit is outstanding. It’s right on the ocean front, and is tucked away in the corner of the Hallii Kai property, so it was very quiet. Views from the patio were awesome. Our problem with this unit was the cleanliness. Upon arriving we could immediately see the lack of effort put into cleaning this unit. There was a layer of dusk over everything. The refrigerator (a very nice Sub-Zero unit) was smeared all over the front, and had a dead fly inside. The bed sheets in the master bedroom didn’t feel like they had been washed since used by the previous occupants, and the bed had clearly been sprayed with Febreze in order to mask the odour. We soon discovered that there was only ONE roll of toilet paper in the entire unit. I checked in every cabinet and drawer in the condo and did not find another. Several rolls of paper towels and boxes of Kleenex, but only one partially used roll of toilet paper. With the high cost of renting this unit, one would not expect the need to run out to buy toilet paper.
I’m not sure if the responsibility for cleaning the unit is with the owner or the property manager, but it was clearly a “ten minute wipe-down”. Very disappointing considering that there was a $250.00 charge for cleaning. Although the location was excellent, the cleanliness of the unit was a real turnoff. We would never rent this unit again.

The unit was filthy and oven broken. Day before Thanksgiving we find out. Offered alternative unit by property mgmt but then they ghosted us. Nearly ruined our vacation. I had to fight the entire time and it was so dingy and filthy. They should be ashamed! I got a very small refund. We had to eat Thanksgiving at Macaroni Grill. Was told standards are too high! Ha! They Offered us cleaning service to tidy up and when we accepted they said it’s $250! Super unprofessional! Do yourself a favor keep looking! If I was the owner I would look for another property mgmt. also buy a new entry rug so gross! Ocean nice and amenities good but not worth the trouble to live in filth! It was such a battle they over promised and way under delivered.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The ocean view is spectacular and the condo is beautiful and well equipped. A special thank you to Kanoe and Rosa of Hawaii Luxury Real Estate (the unit's property manager) ~ their assistance with questions at the beginning of our stay was helpful and they were so swift to respond. Also, we enjoyed the restaurant at the Halii Kai complex. The food and drinks were great and the staff so very kind. We enjoyed a number of meals there enjoying the view and the live music. :)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this condo. The views and the balcony are outstanding. The condo is modern and well-stocked. The pool/restaurant area is located close to this unit. We ate at the restaurant several times while the kids played in the pool, very convenient and fun. We attended the luau at the close by Marriott (great!) and played some golf on the nearby courses. I’d definitely recommend if you are looking for a resort-like stay.

Property is in a well maintained gated neighborhood. The Home is very comfortable and perfect for two couples. Since the property is against the neighborhood boundaries its balcony is very private and protected from any wind or rain arriving from the South. The neighborhood pool and restaurant are very nice; just realize that you can NOT consume outside beverage or food while in the HOA Complex. Whales seem to be drawn to the shallower water directly In front of the property… sitting on this porch you’ll also find yourself watching porpoise grazing back and forth less than 1/4 mile away.. wonderful spot!

The condo is beautiful and the view is spectacular. We stayed in early December and saw whales almost every day. Bring binoculars. Check in was easy. The location is great for getting to the other side of the island and there are tons of things to do in the area. The only negative, and this is minor, were that the cabinet doors need to be tightened. Othhrrwise the condo was in good condition. We would absolutely stay again.
